This park was well maintained. Paved streets and parking space for each site. Full hookups for 30 or 50 amp, plus water and sewer. Management and maintenance were awesome and very helpful. Thank you Amber for being such a fantastic host. - Carl and Bryan
Feb 2017 - $25.00
My rate was monthly. The spot I got was awesome, a little close to the neighbors but had decent space as it was on the corner. The absolute worst management I have ever encountered in all my years traveling. The female manager is just a miserable person and makes sure to let you know it by being extremely rude and dishonest. It was such an upsetting experience, I will never go near there again. - Papa O
May 2010 - $30.00
This is mostly a mobile home park. There are sites for RVs and some have been there a very long time. The park is poorly maintained. The limited staff is friendly. It has very limited laundry. There is some train noise in the park. Likely would not stay there again. Parking a 40' MH was very difficult and I had to trim some trees to get in. - Workamper04

The park is very clean . Very close to Ferry terminal going to S F . It is just off of I80 so some freeway noise in the mornings . We were in a 45' motor home and still parked car in front. - RHOWARD
Apr 2019 - $46.00
Pulled off the highway (I-80 south) to a very short turnoff ramp, be careful you don't have much room to slow down. As you drive on the frontage road to the RV park, you will see some vehicles, which look like there are homeless people living in them. The park roads are narrow, but the pull-throughs are at a good angle to get your rig parked. The site was level. My leveler was doing nothing more than stabilizing the rig. Dog park in the back corner that had nice cut grass with bags provided. On one side of the park, you had a very dilapidated mobile home park. Behind was a lower income neighborhood, and to the other side was an extended stay motel. The area was not one I was very comfortable in and we did have one person passing through asking us if they could use our AC to charge their phone. The people working there were very nice and made the check-in pleasant. I was not impressed with the city of Vallejo (which the RV park can do nothing about) and will not stay in this area again. - TekManiac
Feb 2019 - $38.00
I was quite nervous approaching this park as it is in a sketchy part of town. However, the park is clean and quiet and I haven't experienced any negative issues since arriving. I told them I was traveling by myself and they placed me right near the office/bathrooms/laundry. Sites are very close together and I had to ask my neighbor to move his truck so I could pull in to my space. However, the site is gravel with a small concrete pad and level. I'm in a spot fairly close to the entrance and I'm not hearing freeway noise as others have reported. Laundry is very reasonable ($1.25/wash, .25 for dryer). It took a bit of doing to get the Tengo internet to work, but now that it's up, it works fine and is free, so they must have changed that recently. Verizon has a strong signal here as well. It's certainly not a destination park, but for the price and proximity to I-80, SF/Berkeley/Oakland, it's fine. Site space was just long enough for a 25' motorhome and small tow vehicle parked behind it. - PrtlndTrvlr

We stayed in a 37 ft motorhome and it was tight getting to our site. Once in site we could open both slides and still have some room. Park is run down but the manager couple are working on upgrades. 50 amp power was issue, had low voltage on one leg but we got by. Water, you need a regulator as I was told by the manager, did have sewer. No wifi or cable. We used for base since we were here to visit San Francisco and the rate was ok. Several residents with old campers, they were living in. We would not stay again. No picnic tables. - belanga
Jun 2012 - $35.00
1. Agree with two reviews preceeding mine. The place is ok for a 1-nighter but we didn't sleep well. Probably over reacting but sometimes you just gotta trust your gut. 2. The maintenance guy, Bart, and neighbor Debbie were super friendly. We arrived late and both came out to help us right away and make sure we settled in fine and told us where we could park our tow rigs. 3. We were told to lock our doors and that sometimes cars just drive through the place. 4. Super close to six flags, which is why we stayed here. 5. Stayed one night and are moving to Marin RV Park. - fandrica
Jun 2012 - $30.00
First the good things about this park: location, location, location. The park is in Valejo, within a 15 minute drive to the ferry where there is free parking and a ferry with a one hour ride to San Francisco. The price we paid reflects the weekly rate, and seemed quite reasonable for RV parks in the San Francisco area. The operators of this park are very helpful. Now for the negative. This is an older park, not particularly attractive, mostly occupied by permanent residents who live in older rigs. The hookups all work, but they are old and antiquated. For example the electrical hookup was on a post about 6 feet off the ground. There are a couple of newer sites, but they were really too short for our 40 foot RV, so we chose a site next to the permanent or semi-permanent residents. We stayed here for 2 weeks, and given its reasonable price and great location, we would stay here again. - hoppytoad

Jul 2009 - $26.00
A long, slow, steep and curvy road to the Juniper Campground near the top around 3,000 feet. Our trailer is 20 feet, which is just about the limit. Dry camping. Juniper is the only campground on Mount Diablo with showers. Contrary to the web site, the showers were operational in July 2009. Also no dump sites on the mountain. There is a campground (Live Oak) nearer the bottom at the south entrance out of Danville. It took us 40 minutes minimum to get up and down the mountain to Walnut Creek, North Gate. But it was worth it. The views down on the valley below are phenomenal, especially the sunsets. There are many, many trails to hike if you are in good shape. Bicyclers are always going up and down the main road (scary!). Not many critters to see though. If you want seclusion, great air, great views, don't mind dry-camping and don't have a big rig, this is a great place to decompress. See the web site for descriptions of the many other worthwhile places in the park. There are other campgrounds; Live Oak is at 1400 feet, with 22 sites, and an open area at the Junction Ranger Station has 6 sites. - User424

Apr 2018 - $25.00
We came to the area to visit family and this park was the closest one where we could fit and that had decent ratings. The neighborhood is not the best but the RV park is fenced and in the back of a larger parking area. So we felt safe. There are no reservations and only a small number of sites. When we arrived there was a sign that read "full." The host saw us and told us there was one site available and the sign was to keep out the locals. The host was very friendly as were the people we met here. The hookups are in the back of the site, so a sewer hose extension will probably be needed. There is only 30A and there are no bath facilities or WiFi here. - Recycled
Nov 2017 - $25.00
The main lot was full and we were lucky enough to get into the overflow lot. It's a nice grassy area with trees surrounding it. We were there during the rainy season and knew that grass can get slippery or muddy when it rains heavily but we have a 5th wheel & a 4 wheel drive truck so we knew it wouldn't be a problem for us, and it wasn't. We enjoyed our stay and kept extending it until we had stayed an entire month. The staff was professional and easy to reach whenever we needed them. We plan on staying there again. - RoadRider
Nov 2017 - $25.00
We have stayed in this park 5 times over the last 2 years. The Camp Host is delightful and very helpful, and coordinates everything well. More sites have been added. Power, water & dump... no showers or bathrooms. What I really miss is having wifi, however we are now setting this up through our cell phone. The park is a safe spot to be in or leave one's RV. We come from Northern CA so the Hwy 160 river route to Antioch is both more enjoyable and faster than Hwy 80... about an hour and 10 minutes to Sacramento. This RV Park is about 40 minutes to Oakland/Berkeley depending upon traffic. Overall a score of about 95. - Peter Rhonda

Convenient location, close to town (Napa). We had sufficient room for our 33 ft MH plus tow car. Some sitting area. A bit tight but not nearly as bad as other places we have been. Sites are gravel, level and in good condition. They have full hookup and partial (no sewer). Wi-Fi actually worked well. We were a bit out of season (end of August), so they were about 1/3 full. We found the staff friendly and helpful. No cable TV and limited OTA station reception. - Fluffy_driver
Aug 2019 - $43.00
The problem with this park is twofold: 1. The sites are way too small for the equipment that they are expected to serve. So much so that there was no room to park our tow vehicle in the first site that we were in. We requested a move, and they put us in a site that, whilst barely adequate to park our travel trailer and tow vehicle, had no space to even sit outside. That is not our idea of camping. Especially in a city park which otherwise has a lot of space to move around in. 2. The attitude of the camp hosts was, on two observed occasions 'all about them'. They weren't in the slightest bit interested in checking us in, taking ages to complete a simple task, instead glorifying that they would have to work less when a coworker became able to return to work. Then, another camp host scolded us for parking our tow vehicle in our assigned (too small) site, telling us that we should park it elsewhere. It's not our fault that you put us in a site that was too small. Then, when requesting a change in site, the original camp host wasn't the slight bit interested in discovering why we wanted to move. These folks need to learn about Customer Service. It has spoiled what should have been a good experience. This from a former San Diego County park attendant. - Simon and B

We really enjoyed staying here. If you like to bike, hike or enjoy any outdoor activity, this is the place. If you want to explore The city of NAPA you are right there. The sites are close together, gravel and back to back but plenty of room to back in. The facilities where well kept and staff was very helpful We will return. - User603

"Location, location, location!" That's what we felt upon arriving here. It's simply gorgeous, with some drawbacks. Mentioned by others: the access road is narrow and winding, and the regime is a bit childish. Also the virtual absence of decent showers is not an advantage. Having said that I'm still enthousiastic: who'd dream of camping quietly & like royals in a eucalyptus campground, looking down upon a blue lake & wildlife while being so close to I580/SF? We camped here for one night in a 27" motorhome, had a level full hook-up site and enjoyed our last night in the US to the hilt. - Eisenga
Mar 2019 - $30.00
I arrived on a Tuesday and left Saturday morning. There were only a handful of occupied spaces while I was there. It does fill up on the weekends. I had no hook up, but there are a few spaces with full hookup. No generators are allowed. My solar panels worked great, even on the rainy days. Most of the spaces are spread out, paved, have a picnic table and a fire ring with grill. Warning about my site #43 and site #44 - the picnic table and fire ring sit about 8 feet below the asphalt pad, with a steep slope to get to it. I did not see this issue with the other sites. There are minimal bathrooms. There is a shower building, with 20 minute parking next to them with long term/overfill parking nearby. There are 70 miles of trails (hike, bike, horse), and dogs are allowed on most them. The campground is located in an eucalyptus grove. The road to the park is a narrow two lane road with many turns. Most of it is 25 m.p.h. Be careful of bicyclists, especially on the weekends. I recommend coming up from Castro Valley (off I-580) rather than from Oakland. It takes about 20 minutes to get to the campground from the edge of Castro Valley; convenient for getting gas, groceries, or going out to eat. It takes about 25-30 minutes to get to Oakland and then longer to find amenities. The gate closes at 10 p.m. You can leave, but you cannot get back in. There is a parking lot near the gate, so one could sleep in their car. It is a long walk to the campground. I liked this campground. It is within a couple hours drive for me. I like that it was nearly empty weekdays. I will check it out later this summer. - Tammara
Jan 2019 - $30.00
Stayed here and used as base camp for day trips into SF. The park roads are tight, but ok if you take your time. The big issue I wanted to report for this park that may be a new rule: NO GENERATORS. That fact was a surprise and inconvenience. I chose a Dry campsite for 5 days without knowing... We'll have to use it sparingly ( temping fate ) as we can't go 5 days w/o some charge, esp. when we bring in the slideouts. Otherwise, we really like this place. - Mark D

Nov 2018 - $20.00
We've been here for a month (November) and have had relatively no complaints about the park. It is neat and clean and the sites are spaced well so you have plenty of room. All sites are back in and deep enough for any size RV and park your truck or car in front of the rig. The initial visual of the park is very nice with a section of the park that is landscaped and has some shade trees. This is the 'no pet' zone. As you come further back in to the 'pets allowed' area there is no landscaping or shade trees. The grass in the pet area, although watered regularly and maintained, looks dried up. There are some RV's in the pet section that are, well.....not the latest models and one even has a tarp over the top. But, that's okay. Not all people can have brand new Tiffins (we certainly don't). There is no wifi and, in this day and age, that is almost unacceptable. The park hosts are great people! Very helpful, very friendly and generally good folks. It's a small world in that we knew that we knew each other but couldn't place each other. We finally realized we had parked next to each other the previous summer in Rhode Island. Now we're all the way on the other side of the country and run in to them. The BX and commissary are very close by as is San Francisco, Sacramento and even Lake Tahoe is a nice day trip. We would come back. - jomark
Nov 2017 - $20.00
As noted by others, there's a difference between the sites available for pet owners & non-pet owners. There's also a different level of pet sites. The lesser is limited to 30 amp sites that sit at right angles to the road. That's where we stayed & it was just fine. This is a nice facility. My wife & I, civilians ourselves, strive to only stay in the very best RV resorts. This isn't that, but it it isn't meant to be. It was a great place to stay during a Thanksgiving week visit to our military family son. There was always a site or 2 vacant. Most have satellite TV clearance. Especially in the "nicer", where trees abound, this could be a problem, as could trees coming in contact with larger rigs. A very spacious fuel station is located nearby. The commissary & BX, along with good size food court are even closer. - biosensai
Aug 2017 - $20.00
We stayed for a week. The famcamp is mixed. Some sites, mainly in the no pets section are very nice, others (where we were) are pretty barren- no shade. The site maintenance is mixed, at least two sites have faulty circuit breakers, they trip at least once a minute (we learned our site (46) was one of the two). On the plus side the price is right, exchange and commissary are just blocks away diesel is available, laundry and bathrooms are clean and functional. We'd stay there again but would certainly try for the better sites behind the office. - captaincakes
