Our back-in site was level and shady, all sites that I saw are back-in but we had no problems with our 36' MH. Check-in is at the country store just before the park if going East on rt 36. Full hookup with 30 amp and all services worked OK. We had a decent ATT cell signal and used our hotspots. There is no WiFi, no cable or OTA TV channels. The park sits back off the main road so there is no road noise. We didn't need to use our A/C, but if you do, the campground wants to charge $2 a day extra. Not a good idea in my opinion since I have already paid the site fee. The shower and toilet, yes just one each for each gender for 35 sites, could get to be a long line if this park is busy. Lucky for us we were the only campers besides one other gentlemen. They were clean but could use some updating. The shower walls show a lot of rust stain from the hard water but I have seen worse and there was plenty of hot water. Very close to Lassen Volcanic NP. Their store has everything you need and their restaurant has some great food with generous portions, but a little pricey. We would stay here again if nothing else was available in the National Park. For the price it was OK for our 2 day stay....the park just needs some TLC. Make sure your MH and/or vehicles are full of gas before arriving. The closet gas station is 25 miles in Chester. We camped at Volcano Country Camping and RV in a Motorhome.

Close to Lassen NP and easy to find on Route 36. Sites were mostly back in and somewhat flat, we had no problem moving around in our 24' class C. A big plus was that the hookups were positioned where they needed to be and the sewer was low enough to drain properly. That said, the sites were somewhat shabby with stacks of old cut tree limbs here and there and a general lack of upkeep. The restrooms looked OK, just not sparkle clean. For $25 with full hookups it is a good deal, in the trees and quiet, just don't expect too much. We camped at Volcano Country Camping and RV in a Motorhome.

We found the staff, though very busy running the restaurant. laundry, store as well as the campsite, to be helpful and courteous. Loved the food, but didn't try the cobbler.

Nice showers, plenty of hot water and free. Full hookups available. We camped at Volcano Country Camping and RV in a Motorhome.

This RV park is in the trees and wonderful in that regard. Plus it is 9 miles from Lassen Volcanic National Park. The check-in person was NOT friendly but the store is nice and the restaurant was excellent. Good food and large portions-just don't get the cobbler. It is more like peach cake. Was weird. The park is a little neglected but that didn't bother us. The road in was rough. Once you pass the store and see the sign for the park, you are past the check-in area which is now at the store. The sign for the park is next to the post office and I believe this used to be the office. So you have to turn around, check in, turn around again and go into the park. A little bothersome but not too bad. Price was good. No amenities. Showers just ok and not updated. One shower and toilet. We camped at Volcano Country Camping and RV in a Motorhome.

A classic example of what was once probably a very nice campground, now in a state of decay due to neglect. The BBQ stands had not been cleaned and wasps/yellowjackets abound. Website says "gravel or pine needle sites". Not! Some gravel left over from a long time ago and mostly fine powdery dirt dust. The one bldg with 1 bathroom and 1 shower per gender: were filthy with holes punched in the walls, litter and water on the floor. We were there 3 days and the garbage cans and bathroom were never cleaned. No staff on site or ever seen. Although there were only 6 sites occupied, the manager would not give us even a partial refund because we left one day earlier than our reservation had been made for. Only positive is the proximity to the South entrance to Lassen Park. Also, the gas station across the road is closed. Closest gas station is about 25 miles away in Chester. IF you absolutely must stay here: pay only one night at a time or they'll rip you off for the whole reserved time. Next time we visit Lassen Park we'll drive the extra miles and stay elsewhere. We camped at Volcano Country Camping and RV in a Travel Trailer.

This is a nice and quite park. Our site had all of the hook-ups and it was roomy. Still had many sites available and it was the middle of summer. It is located away from the noisy road, but you check in at the store on the main drag. You might miss this place but it is in a nice forested setting away from it all, and close to the NP. Restaurant and store within walking distance. No internet. We camped at Volcano Country Camping and RV in a Motorhome.

Park was in forested area. Made you feel like you were "roughing it". Campground staff were not friendly and you had to check in down the road. No staff on site. We camped at Volcano Country Camping and RV in a Motorhome.
