This was an okay park. We would stay there again, but mostly because of the location. It's only 30 amp. During cool months that's okay but during the summer when you want to run your a/c's then it isn't okay.

There are some sites that are laid out really goofy. We were in #19 and the back right corner of our RV backed up to the awning of the RV next to us. Literally touching it, which made the RV at the corner of the site's patio instead of parallel to it. The site on the other side us backed up to us in the same way. Really weird.

The wifi was okay, in fact good, during the day. At night it slowed down but that is when everyone else is using it. The park (sites) are mostly clean. Ours had a left over door mat and pieces of plastic toy laying around. Although the park is at the end of an airport runway, the noise isn't too bad from the planes.

The location of the park, Monterey, is great. Monterey is a beautiful location and a wonderful place to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed Fisherman's Wharf and Cannery Row. The drive out of Monterey down the coast and to Big Sur on the Pacific Hwy is gorgeous! The cost of $36 a night is ridiculous for what you get. It should be $20 or less. We camped at Monterey Pines RV Campground (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

A military campground behind an open-to-the-public golf course. There are no security guards, but the gate is locked after 7pm. Getting to the camping area requires a short drive in front of a Tee Box, so be sure to stop and look back to the tees to be sure you aren't in the line of fire. We did find about 5 golf balls around our trailer during our stay there, but thankfully, none hit our trailer. Laundry is clean and reasonably priced (1.50/1.00). The park is situated right next to the fairgrounds and in centrally located for all Monterey and the area has to offer. There is noise from the local airport. Getting into sites are tight for big rigs, but doable. Check in is at the gold pro shop. Our site, #38, was good for our 42.5' 5er. It was long enough, and was at the end of the row, so we were able to back in fairly easily. We camped at Monterey Pines RV Campground (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

Love this RV park. Have been several times. Always find the bathrooms to be clean and staff to be very friendly. This time, however, 2 of the shower stalls were inoperable, so just had to share the one good stall with others. No problem. I'm sure it will be fixed by the time we return. Very small park. Everyone with a large trailer or motorhome had a tough time parking, but they all finally got into their spots with some effort. Not many pull throughs, mostly back ins even for the larger vehicles.

We enjoyed this park. It has a woodsie feel in the middle of a well groomed golf course. Being close to the pacific, the temperature is comfortable year round. It is adjacent to the fairgrounds which is also where the Jazz festival is held. Very convenient. The staff was very helpful. We stayed on Labor Day weekend which is also the county fair. Other than a little traffic in front of the fairgrounds it had no impact on our stay. This park is due for renovation and the plans have been approved. They are waiting on the money. Location of this RV park is just about the only good thing about it. It is located within a golf course but as you turn into the RV park, the landscaping and maintenance stops. The grass is either overgrown or dead, trees and bushes are not maintained. It's as if the general manager is purposely trying to neglect this area in hopes that it will disappear. The sites are crumbling and haven't been updated or maintained in years, perhaps decades. There is an electric post that we were told broke months ago, that has not yet been repaired, so the spot goes unused. The staff just doesn't care. The camp host is nosey and when I complained about the state of the park, just shrugged her shoulders and said it wasn't her problem.

The laundry facilities are old and one washer is broken. The women's bathroom had a major leak in one of the toilets while we stayed here, and it took several days before it was addressed. I have visited here a few times and it is just getting worse. I will return as it's still the least expensive in the area, but might look into one of the state parks in the area as an alternative. This is one sad park! We camped at Monterey Pines RV Campground (Military FamCamp) in a Travel Trailer.

It is all about location. This has our 3rd stay at the campground and were disappointed on how it is being un-kept. Long grass and weeds and the table patio areas full of debris. Management should clean the place up. That being said, it is still a bargain for its outstanding location. I only picked up 6 golf balls in our stay. Be careful parking under the trees as they drop sap all over your vehicle. However, it does wash right off.

This place is all about location, location, LOCATION. It is super convenient to numerous and worthwhile sightseeing venues. This was our first visit to Monterey Pines. After reading previous reviews, we were a bit apprehensive. Luckily, our concerns were unfounded. Reservation and check-in were smooth. We were advised to stop - check for golfers on the 2nd tee before proceeding to the camp ground. Our back-in site was a bit tight, but worked okay for a 34' 5th wheel. WiFi was excellent. We did not use the restrooms, bathhouse or laundry, so I have not rated those facilities. Others have commented about golfers, and we have a story as well. As I was unhooking/preparing for departure, I heard a loud overhead THUNK from a nearby tree. Seconds later, a golf ball landed at my feet! Mind you, we are behind a VERY high net. I tossed the ball back on the fairway. The golfer later thanked me as we both went about our business. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Monterey Pines RV Campground (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an older campground in a great location. It is only open to the military $30, and DOD Civilians $33. You can sponsor civilian guests at the $38 rate if you are here with them. Gravel sites. The WiFi was recently upgraded and works. We camped at Monterey Pines RV Campground (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

If you like golf you will love this location, all the free golf balls you can use. The park is in the middle of a golf course. They do have a high fence built around one side of the park but we would pick up from 2-3 balls a day near our rig, and one hit it, just a small dent. Many spaces are tight to get into, air antenna works great, no cable or Wi-Fi at out site but our Verizon hot spot worked great. We had 30-amp service and found that it was weak; this time of year many are pulling lots of electricity for their heaters. We used our voltage regulator to help keep the power at 110. The park needs some work. The great thing about this park is its only minutes from all the things to do in Monterey, and the cost is far less than other parks in the area. We camped at Monterey Pines RV Campground (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

Location, Location, Location. This park is located inside Monterey Pines Golf Course. The park itself needs some updating, but for the location and the price, it's worth every penny! There are three pull through spots and the rest are back in. We stayed in one of the pull throughs. They're lined up three in a row and it worked nice because we were in a group of three, but otherwise, I'd recommend the back in spots. Don't take the website or the 1-800 number's word on availability, both told us there wasn't room for us when there actually was more than enough room for a full 5 nights, so call the campground directly. WiFi didn't work, but the AT&T was good. We would definately return. We camped at Monterey Pines RV Campground (Military FamCamp) in a Fifth Wheel.

Finding this park was a bit confusing. The entry sign is for the golf course and has nothing on it to indicate that you must drive through the golf course to get to the RV Park. Sites are tight to back into for 40-ft motorhomes. My site only had 30 amp power, but it worked OK. Water and sewer were good. This park provided a good home location for seeing the area. I probably would stay here again, now that I know how to find the park. We camped at Monterey Pines RV Campground (Military FamCamp) in a Motorhome.

The person who assigned a 40 foot motorhome in a 35 foot space must have done so out of maliciousness or humor. There are several spots that could have been more appropriate and that remain available as night falls. The CG is a perfect spot for exploring the Monterey Peninsula though it is lacking in appropriateness of it's facilities. Some spaces are way to narrow to maneuver and are too narrow for a full size motor home or 5th Wheel though perfect for a small trailer or Class B or C. There are no convenient parking areas for your Toad and no space to park in front of or beside you RV. At $30 a night it is no bargain given facility shortcomings. Although they say Wi-Fi is available throughout the CG you may have to wander around a bit for a Hot Spot. I think I'd rather go elsewhere to a CG that really cares about their campers. Good value for the money. Some of the sites are unlevel. Wi-Fi worked well depending on time of day. Have stayed here before and will probably stay here in the future. Airport noise at night can be annoying. Laundromat was clean and machines worked well. Campground was clean and appeared to be well maintained. Military only. Well maintained, pleasant park with many Monterey Pines. Convenient to Monterey sights: e.g., aquarium, Cannery Row; Carmel-by-the-Sea; 17-mile drive; beginning famous California coastal Hwy 1 nearby. Rest rooms and showers clean, modern, heated. Wi-Fi spotty; Verizon cellular connection works well. Golfing on site. Small PX at nearby Naval Post Graduate School. Full PX and Commissary a few miles away at Fort Ord. Great place to stay given this is a high-end locale! Some sites are small and cramped but worth it. CALL in advance and register before 5:00 to get GATE CODE required to gain entry after hours.
