Overall Rating:

Morgan Hill is an old Thousand Trails campground with many amenities including a large pool. The sites are well spaced and shaded in most of the park. The few fifty-amp sites are very close together with no shade. They have a lot of rules including a 5-mph speed limit which they enforce belligerently. It is very dusty, especially in the fifty-amp area. The whole experience starts badly as your new neighbors complain about the dust you create as you come in. This is especially true with the class A diesel whose engine fans raise a lot of dust. The electrical power presents many problems from low voltage to total failure - usually at about 2:30 pm. Though there are no sewer hookups there are two dump stations and they will pump your tanks for $45. I would highly recommend this park to those who have not reached their abuse quotient for the month. We camped at Thousand Trails / Morgan Hill RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Nice laid out park. Seems like some updating has been done. We were in the 50 Amp section which was very dusty and little shade. The BIG issue was the low voltage problems. Normally in these situations we would utilize our Solar system, but it was to hot to run the inverter with our conditoner to long, so we ran our Generator until it cooled down durning the evening. We camped at Thousand Trails / Morgan Hill RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This small park is one of the best maintained in the Thousand Trails system. In 2018 they invested $2 Million in the park's infrastructure, and plan to spend an additional $1M in 2019. Our site was level and very spacious with a gravel drive and a large grass lawn, separated from the next site by a decorative fence. Some sites were smaller, but there were many like ours in the 30 amp area. There are a limited amount of 50 amp sites at this time. Because of ecological considerations there are only a few sites with sewer hookup. There is a honeywagon available for $25, but since it was not very difficult to move our motorhome we simply went to one of the several dump stations twice during our stay. Most campers had those little pull-behind poop wagons to carry their waste to the dump station, but that's not our thing! The pool is large and well maintained. There are scheduled activities throughout the summer for families. Some people complain that the park is too strict in enforcing their rules (eg 5mph throughout the park), but we had no problems and found the staff to be friendly and helpful throughout. We camped at Thousand Trails / Morgan Hill RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Park was ok, but not sure I'd go back if given the choice. No sewer hookups and some strange rules. We were told no foil insulation on windows allowed on our trailer (relatively new) but saw many old unsightly RVs in the park? Stayed again to visit family. Still a good place except no sewer of course. No longer charge $5.00 for 50 amp sites. Mostly level pull thru and backin sites. Very close to neighbors. Management is extremely picky about EVERYTHING, so follow the rules. We camped at Thousand Trails / Morgan Hill RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Morgan Hill Thousand Trails suffered a serious flood in March, 2016. The resort was closed for 10 months. A massive renovation and renewal is underway. Roads and sites have been cleaned up and graveled, some bathrooms have been refurbished (the rest are in progress), there is new playground equipment, and the Family Lodge is refurbished. But wait, there's more! The pool is refurbished including new furniture, there's a new Adult Lodge, a new outdoor pavilion and new basketball court. The dump stations have new fencing and the dumpsters are hidden by nicely designed wooden enclosures. There's a new 11 hole miniature golf course (yep, 11 holes). New volleyball courts and refurbished tennis courts. The dog run has new sand and fence. There are 4 new "Safari tents" and new BBQ units are being installed everywhere. Still to come is a new fitness center and a check-in desk in the membership building (the old adult lodge). If you have not been to Morgan Hill TT since the flood, come on back and enjoy the much improved property! We camped at Thousand Trails / Morgan Hill RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Paid $5 for 50 amp as was hot weather. Bathroom in our section was closed. Lots of foxtails so check your pet. Do not take a left out of the park with RV even if GPS says to or you will be on a very narrow, winding road with low branches for 12 miles before getting to highway! Stay here from time to time due to kids living in the area. They have certainly cleaned up this park since we were here 2 years ago. They check insurance and registration on RV's and vehicles before entrance and have made the permanents clean up their sites. Downside of course is there is no sewer only 30/50 amp w/water sites. 50 amp sites covered now with crushed marble along with roads in this area. Still charge $5.00 per night for 50 amp. Pool and all the regular amenities and activities of a Thousand Trails. Much better experience than in the past. Will stay here again. Bathrooms were cleaned daily, old and dated. Laundry facility was dirty, had to pay 4.00 for a debit type card to wash clothes. However, loads were only a dollar each, I will hope that other parks I stay in have the same device. Vending machines for drinks did not work the entire 2 week stay, I did bring it to the attention of one of the Sales Agents. Many guests are full timers, it has cleaned up a bit since our stay here last December, but still feels dumpy and kind of uncomfortable. Many sewer spills from people carting their own waste to the sewer dump station. A large sewer spill from one of the rental cabins was handled promptly, and apparently appropriately. This same day there was no access to the dump station or all but on set of bathrooms. Most of the staff was friendly, however, a couple were just outright rude. California has been in a drought, I get that. When we were here in the winter, it was a muddy mess. This summer it has been nothing but a dirty dust bowl. There are cones and fences in the open grass area, you can't go there. This is definitely a dog friendly park, a lot of people did not pick up after their pets. Gate code was changed frequently, unfortunately, we were not told, and had issues getting in one night. It is time for Thousand Trails to take a serious look at this park and how it is advertised. I am pretty sure we will not be back. Time for a major overhaul of this park, such a waste for all that this area has to offer. We camped at Thousand Trails / Morgan Hill RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This campground is over run with full time residents. Lots of people live here full time and even though the rules state that only camping items may be out, we saw couches, recliners, trash galore. Lots of run down rvs. Space is also limited and you are pretty much right on top of everyone. Restrooms were disgusting. If a shower is running, the toilets won't flush. Within 10 minutes of setting up, three sheriff cars came through. They said it was normal patrol. Not sure if that is more concerning or comforting. At least they were patrolling. We won't stay here again. Our rate was $0 since we are members of Thousand Trails. We camped at Thousand Trails / Morgan Hill RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

I would change the name to Thousand Trails of DIRT & DUST. When called the resv. no. was told all sites had full hookups. I almost bought a membership but they could not find available membership site for the dates I wanted, but didn't. We did a non-membership. When we arrived, I confirmed we would have full hookups & was told all sites were W&E only. She said "This is a problem they have with the reservations people saying there are full hookups when we don't have them." There are 2 sewer dumps, but at the time 1 was closed to be pumped out but not sure when it would be. She said all sites are 1st come 1st serve & we could drive around & find the one we wanted. So, we unhooked, drove around. Main road is asphalt for a little ways & all roads are DIRT & I mean DIRT. All RV pads are DIRT. It is a dusty park. It looks old, run down, not kept up. From what we observed the 8 days we were there it is more of a place for locals to spend their vacations. 90%+ sites are treed, those in the very back that were $5 more per day because they have more grass, pull-thru & are open enough to use satellite. They are the same size as the cheaper sites. In California, grass is green maybe 1-2 mos. in the early spring then brown the rest of the year due to the lack of rain. Unless you are desperate & need a RV park to stay in the bay area & are not able to find space any place else, then stay here. Site G272 in back at end doesn't share parking space with another rv & less traffic. For this park being in a nationwide chain we were so disappointed in the quality of the park. As many parks as we have stayed in all over the US & Canada, including Alaska, this is the worst of all of them.

Thousand Trails is now on the bottom of our list of parks. No wi-fi, cable & cell coverage 1-2 bars & slow. Price per day - wkly rate $50 + $4 / day resort fee, 8th day $59 per day, + $4 / day resort fee Total for 8 days with tax $476.28 (doesn't include $5 per day extra for back site). We camped at Thousand Trails / Morgan Hill RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Dusty, dusty, dusty even with the the 5 mph limit. Water and electric only with a dump station or a $25 on site suck-out service. Rangers at check in were very nice, and circled on a map where all the 30 amp services were located. Restrooms were cleaned every day but should be updated. Found a site with east shade and west shade in the late afternoon. Sat TV was not a problem. Stayed here for a week and did not elect to use the suck-out service but did unhook and dump. Will stay here again when in the area. We camped at Thousand Trails / Morgan Hill RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Although some ''permanent" residents have moved on, the park still has many rigs that have been in place after 3 to 4 years. I have been a member for 10+ years and have seen the decline of most Thousand Trail Parks. Morgan Hill is no exception. Many inhabitants of the park are ''near homeless" folks from Santa Clara county living in their rigs. If you enjoy seeing some sites staked out with plastic sheds and worldly belongings stored under rigs, this is the place for you.

Try to arrive early so you are not forced to have a 50 amp site you do not need otherwise you will have to pay a $5 up charge daily .

To the park's credit this year they begun trimming many of the trees --a much needed job. We camped at Thousand Trails / Morgan Hill RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We went right before Memorial Day and there was good weather so it was packed. Overall it's a decent place. In the trees close to town but they put us in a way too small site, so our car didn't fit. They also had alot of transient "full time" campers that were always skirting the rules: usually with loud music and/or pets. Not sure why they have so many sites crammed together as that pretty much makes it more of a parking lot and not really camping. If we didn't get the Thousand Trails membership for free, I wouldn't buy one based on this or the Hollister locations. We camped at Thousand Trails / Morgan Hill RV Resort in a Motorhome.
