Tight! Not big rig friendly! Dirty. Looks like mostly full time renters. We travel a lot & this park just had an unsafe feel. The only positive was the absolute personable lady that checked us In upon arrival. We camped at Aurora RV Park and Marina in a Motorhome.

This not a super fancy RV park, but a friendly, quirky and accommodating place to stay. We made a reservation and then had a flat on the way there. We called and they assured us they would make sure we had a place when we got there and if it wasn't just right we could sort it out the next day. Fortunately we got there before dark and the spot was just what we wanted. The park has two parts. There is the lakeside section that we like because you are literally almost in the lake, but it is just concrete and can be a little close to neighbors. We tow a cargo trailer so we dropped it where they said we could store it so we could be on the lakeside. The larger part of the park is across a small street and is more traditional with pull thrus, trees and more space. We were here 4 years ago and there appear to be more long term RVs here now but everyone was friendly and helpful. Both employees in the office are energetic and friendly. Even though our site was a back in we parked front in for the view. We camped at Aurora RV Park and Marina in a Motorhome.

Big rig doable but tight. (63' rig) Nice location across from beautiful Clear Lake. Super friendly woman who runs the office. Sites are kind of tight and dusty. They have a canoe and a couple kayaks to use free. We camped at Aurora RV Park and Marina in a Motorhome.

Nice little park. Office, restrooms, etc. across the street (adjacent to the lake) from RV sites. Park manager is very friendly. Spots seem a little tight but we maneuvered a 37 foot MH and 22 foot trailer with no real problems. We camped at Aurora RV Park and Marina in a Motorhome.

Some reviews have been grossly unfair (which is why I'm writing-I don't' write many reviews). This isn't a "resort" type park, but a great small park right on the lake. Heck, they even have free kayaks to use! It is a park divided by Lakeshore Blvd, with a few sites on the waterfront and the remainder across the road (which appeared to be fine basic sites as well). This is an RV park without grass between sites but with plenty of trees around, just not between the sites. The sites by the water are short for a 40' motorhome, but they do allow large rigs in them (which stick out into the drive). We were in site 7 and the park host allowed us to park diagonally so that both our windshield and our passenger side windows had a great view of the lake. The WiFi was the best we've had in 100s of parks. The office gals were fun and helpful. Watching the battling ducks was a riot. Our site adjoined the common picnic area of the park, so it was fun people-watching and various families came to fish, smoke, eat breakfast (never saw other meals prepped there, but they certainly could have) and just generally hang out. We loved it here and will definitely return if we're in the area again. We came because it was a Passport America park, and it is one of the best ones. We camped at Aurora RV Park and Marina in a Motorhome.

I found this place out on the Good Sam search and it got some recent good reviews saying the couple that bought the resort were actively working to renovate the whole place. We chose a site that backs up to the lake with a gorgeous view. The weirdness starts here. There was only one other site occupied. As I looked around, more and more stuff did not add up. There were a multitude of partially started projects that abruptly ended, like flood debris was raked into many little piles with the rakes leaning against a tree. A very green fish tank was sitting in the communal picnic area by the lake outside with barely visible large, fancy fish inside. Sites were not swept clean and the recycling bins were full. The office was a mess and full of construction materials, but no sign of recent work. We found a dumpster in the other section of the resort and it was piled several feet above the top. The wifi didn't work, nor the cable. The weirdest, most unsettling, issue for me about this place, was in spite of several "private property" signs, there was a man fishing directly in front of our site until at least 1:45 - 3:30 AM(I was checking regularly). I was scarred and wanted to leave! We camped at Aurora RV Park and Marina in a Travel Trailer.

Planned on staying for 2 nights but after getting set up and the need to have some mail forwarded to our friends that we are traveling with we opted for staying another week and have had a great time checking out the area clear around the lake. The view of the lake from our site is great and the park mangers are the best. The park is in the middle of renovations but hasn't been any problems during our stay. We will be back again. We camped at Aurora RV Park and Marina in a Motorhome.

Close by grocery store, gas stations, casino's, car wash that has rv/truck bay, restaurants, antique and thrift store too. K-Mart and auto parts stores are about 10 miles away in Lakeport and the Walmart store is about 30-40 minute drive to the other end of the lake in the city of Clear lake.

The close by Casino's are great places to get something to eat and spend some money.

Location, Location, Location. This is a hard park to evaluate because the park is a really old park that has just been bought and the new owners are working to fix it up. The bathrooms are old and dingy which is acknowledged by the park asking for forgiveness while they update the park. The WiFi barely worked, the cable works but the channels consist of Religion, Shopping, and a western station. We got good reception from our sat. Despite that you have to stay in sites 1-7. The view of the lake is breath taking and the fishing is great. The manger is awesome. Stayed there 4 days and wanted to stay longer. The rate reflects 2 day of PA and 2 days of GoodSam. We will definitely be coming back to stay there again. We camped at Aurora RV Park and Marina in a Fifth Wheel.

OK for an overnight. The pull thru sites are on one side of the road and they have back in sites on the lake side of the road. Check in was easy.

If coming from the West, the right turn onto Lakeshore Drive is the right turn from hell. I was able to do it but bent one of the arms on my tow bar. Suggest west bounders go thru the roundabout then turn right on Hammond, then left on Lakeshore. We camped at Aurora RV Park and Marina in a Motorhome.

We arrived early Saturday afternoon on Labor Day weekend and was greeted by a gentleman that said not to worry about paying until we left. We did have reservations. We never did register. When we got ready to leave on Tuesday morning, still could not find a manager to pay. Rate on their website said $36 a day before Good Sam discount, so taped a check to managers door and left.

It was mentioned in previous reviews about "great cable and WIFI". The cable did not work and no one at the park could explain how to make it work. WIFI was sporadic. Since we did not register and receive any instructions, had to find the original gentleman and ask for the password. We were forced to use our "Hotspot" frequently to contact family.

Not sure what the schedule for trash pick up was, but the dumpster was overflowing with more trash stacked around the dumpster. The grounds were also filthy. Our poor "four-legged" baby came back from walks with numerous burrs.

We will not return. We camped at Aurora RV Park and Marina in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a Super Wal-Mart at the other end of the lake, which is quite a drive. However, this is an older Wal-Mart that has been converted to a Super Wal-Mart. The grocery section is very limited. Ray's Market across the street from Wal-Mart is quite pricey.

We had originally planned to stay here for a night on our way home from Oregon. However, once we were all setup in one of the lakefront sites, we both enjoyed the setting so much that we decided to stay an extra two days. The manager, absolutely went out of his way to make our stay comfortable.

On Friday night, they even put on a BBQ at their expense - for any of the registered guests. Only a handful of guests showed up, but I think that was because such gatherings are so uncommon these days that not everyone knew about it. Those of us who did attend had a great time. After dark, they even put on an outdoor kid-friendly movie! How often do you see that kind of staff involvement these days!

They're in the middle of doing some serious (expensive) upgrades to the park, and if the results end up being as good as the staff was friendly, it'll be amazing! We were in a 43 foot motorhome and had no problem backing into one of the waterfront sites. There was a nearby place to park our towed vehicle. We camped at Aurora RV Park and Marina in a Motorhome.

We had a pull-through site, level, grass & dirt. Cable TV and WiFi worked great. Good Park improvement overall, since we camped here several years ago. Fire pit and picnic bench are located on opposite side of road near the lake. New Managers were very helpful and polite. Quiet at night. Across the road, back-in sites were on concrete. Good stop for an over-nighter. We camped at Aurora RV Park and Marina in a Fifth Wheel.
