Not really big rig friendly, but you can get a few on the lower level. This park was put in long before slides so with 4 you will need to overhang into another space. There is an upper section but it is mostly permanents and would not attempt to go up there unless I had a very small RV. The lower level starts off narrow and at the end has room for about 4 larger rigs if you take 2 spaces. Wi-Fi was not working and the water pressure is really low (25lbs), only saw 30 AMP service at the boxes. One of the local members said they were looking at improvements so made the case for re-doing the lower section to be more big rig friendly and adding a dump station (there is no dump station today). We camped at Elks Lodge #2724 (Members Only) in a Motorhome.

The other reviews pretty much summed this place up. I just want to add that there is a good strong free wifi signal (I'm using to write this review) available from the Elks Club. The water tastes pretty bad, if you don't have a good filter system, bring bottled water. We called ahead of time to see if space was available and received a return call a short time later. Host said," he never saw the place completely full." Passport America price for non-members is $15.00 a night.. We camped at Elks Lodge #2724 (Members Only) in a Motorhome.

General info: This is a no-frills location to camp. It really is no more than a dirt/gravel lot with electricity and water hook-ups (no sewer or dump available on site). No on-site staff, so the payment is do it yourself style by placing a check for the correct amount into an envelope provide where you write your personal info, as well as your vehicle(s) and dates of stay. You then drop the envelope down a mail slot.

The Good: There are large trees nearby that provide some shade. It is very close to the entrance to Yosemite, off of hwy 41. It feels secluded and lonely, but it's well lit. Sites have available wood picnic tables. Checkout time is a generous 6pm!

The Bad: Completely dirt/gravel, so expect some dust in summer or mud during rain/snow season. Poor weed removal maintenance. Upper level has low hanging oak branches, which would probably damage taller rigs. Lower level is fine and easy to maneuver. 30 amp only. Low water pressure. No amenities (cable TV, pool, etc.

If we were going back to Yosemite, we would probably camp here again. It's worth the money for no frills when compared to other parks on our trip. We camped at Elks Lodge #2724 (Members Only) in a Motorhome.

Other reviewers gave good descriptions, so I will cover other points:

Getting there: From Oakhurst, drive North on hwy 41 to the intersection of hwy 222. Turns left, then immediately turn right and drive up hill on a narrow paved road to a signed junction for the lower campground

There are about 20 sites in this area, a few suitable for large rigs. A steel stairway is provided to get to the lodge. We stayed in this area. We were there in late March, and it was nearly empty, except for a motor home at the far end that appeared to be stored. Two other one night campers were there during our three night stay.

To reach the upper campground, continue to the lodge parking lot and turn right at the far end and continue up hill. Camping is in a circular area, with about 6 sites. One is on a slab with a large motor home, which I assume is used by the camp host during the busy season. One site was empty, (a deep site suitable for a big rig, not super level), and the remainder filled. There is an exit road at the far end, so a U-turn is not needed to leave. This campground has shade and is a little nicer in appearance.

This lodge is unusual, in that non-members are welcome. We used the self-registration at the lodge. We were not there when meals were available, but Elks lodges typically have good cafeteria-type meals, and a bar that serves drinks that are not watered down with both meals and drinks available at reasonable prices. We are Elks, and a prime reason for joining is the RV site availability at many lodges, particularly in the Western states. We have a small travel trailer, and will definitely stay again. Non-Elks fee is $25. We camped at Elks Lodge #2724 (Members Only) in a Travel Trailer.

Water pressure is very low. We had an excellent Friday night dinner for $12. The camping is kind of rough, gravel and sand and the approach road is tough and very steep but it's a good place to stay if you are visiting Yosemite. My husband said he would be there again but I'm not that sure. We camped at Elks Lodge #2724 (Members Only) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This facility is small, with no restrooms or showers. There was water and electric hookups, but no dump station (difficult to find a place in the town of Oakhurst -- we were told that you could use the Bass Lake dump or pay at another nearby facility, but we didn't find either one). The sites were small in the lower area (right above the road). Fortunately, we were able to choose the site in the upper level with the best available views (only five total, with two of those having permanent residents). The park is in need of some maintenance and there was only one fire ring for use, which we moved to our site. There was some road noise, but not bad at all. Use the lower level for big rigs, (we are a 40 footer.) Our GPS was not accurate on location. Go north of Oakhurst approximately 3.5 miles from center of town. Watch for the sign for road 222. Going north toward Yosemite it will be on your right. Up a steep drive and down a steep drive to the lower level area. No restrooms, no amenities, just a gravel parking lot. But the people are super nice, there is the Elks club for food and drinks. The town of Oakhurst is very nice and the drive to Yosemite is scenic. It is close to the Mariposa Grove of Sequoias. Not many people stay here so we were all alone on the lower level for 3 nights. Very peaceful. Our $25 rate was for non Elks members. We camped at Elks Lodge #2724 (Members Only) in a Motorhome.

Ditto on the previous review except it's mostly gravel spaces, about 20 minutes to the south entrance to the park, another 40 minutes to Yosemite valley. There is some road noise however it quiets down at night. Non-Elks members pay $20 per night. On Fridays, the Elks offer an excellent dinner for members and non-members for $12 per person. I'd avoid the restaurant across the street. Easy and clear setup for a satellite dish. Sprint cellular wireless card worked fast here. We camped at Elks Lodge #2724 (Members Only) in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is an Elks lodge that does allow non-Elks member to stay. Simple grass & dirt spaces. Close to stores, restaurants and Yosemite. No bathrooms but there is water and electric (30 amp) and a dump station is available a few miles down the road at another campground for a $5 fee. Great staging area for daily visits to the park. We camped at Elks Lodge #2724 (Members Only) in a Travel Trailer.
