Overall Rating:

Access to the park is great if you follow the directions for the RV friendly access as per their web site. If you use their address you descend a fairly steep narrow road but still not all that bad. Parameter roads are gravel and reasonably wide. Check in was quick, efficient and Informative. A guide to Yosemite was included. Sites are gravel/dirt with services to the left rear. Plenty of Cable channels without the "box". Wifi worked great once you were able to logon. Tangointernet is such a pain. Our site came with a table and firepit. The setting was very nice. We backed onto the Fresno River. The town of Oakhurst has all of the facilities one might need. There are no restaurants or stores within "easy" walking distance. We encounter two nightly rates. One week day $33.30 inc Tax. Weekend is $35.10. We feel we recieved fair value for our dollar. We would return. We camped at High Sierra RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

Staff was friendly and efficient, site was large enough for our 41 ft class A, park was quiet and well cared for. All utilities including wifi and cable were sufficient for our needs. Not a high end resort but definitely the best value for my $ that I've found in California. We camped at High Sierra RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Basic campground good for a visit to Yosemite. Gravel and sand back in that faced what I would call a creek (not a river). This was spur of the moment, last minute stop so worked for us. Full hookups a plus. Office personnel very pleasant. WiFi decent. Cable good. Would try to camp in park if returning. We camped at High Sierra RV & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Easy check-in, friendly office staff. Small park adjacent to Nelder Creek/Fresno River with some nice cascades. Stayed in a 30 amp full hook up site. Site was not very level and hookups are the "buddy site" type which is not very desirable. I had to pull nose-in to hook up. A trailer would have to run their utilities under the RV. Sites are narrow and fire pits are in a strange location. There is not a lot of room to maneuver, most travel trailers had a hard time backing in. The good things: A small park with good off-season rates. Well managed, quiet. No highway noise or trains. We camped at High Sierra RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Located in the town of Oakhurst, CA, this park is about 17 miles from the south entrance to Yosemite National Park. Being in town it is convenient to shopping. It has a mix of tent camping, RV spaces and mobile homes. We had a back in site with a gravel surface and full hookups which included 50 amp electric and cable. The site was somewhat narrow with some shade, a picnic table and fire ring. There is free WiFi but we found it to be somewhat iffy. The restrooms were generally clean. We paid an average of $39.00 per night with Good Sam discount. We camped at High Sierra RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

Enter off of Road 426. Do not enter off of 41. Road 41 entrance winds you through the mobile home park area and is steep. Small RV park, quiet. We stayed 10 days. We had one of the two pull thru sites. Office staff were friendly. I gave it a 9 because the Laundry room needed a good cleaning, maybe daily attention since it was heavily used and the electrical wiring in it was scary. No recycling. Our dog enjoyed her daily romp in the river. We would stay here again. We camped at High Sierra RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

To my eye, this park looks nothing like the pictures featured online. The main interior road is too narrow for comfortably driving in and out with a bigger rig. While I occasionally have to back in our 38 ft Class A, I can't remember ever having such tight quarters in which to try to turn. While we had full hookups, the cable connection was located on the other side of our coach, away from all the other utilities Good thing we have 50-ft. length of coax or we would have been out of luck. The cable TV was pretty decent with a lot of channels. WI-FI (via Tengonet) was slow and often unavailable. The water pressure seemed a bit on the low side, and the electric voltage was definitely lower than it should have been. I realize that the park was close to full and the temperature was in triple digits by late afternoon each day, but RV park should be equipped to deal with these conditions. You had better like waking up at 6 am or so because right behind the park is some sort of business using heavy equipment that they very loudly crash and bang early weekday mornings. If you have dogs, they better like doing their business on gravel because there is next to no grass anywhere here. There is one strip of grass outside the park entrance but so many dogs have left their piles there that it is nearly impossible to safely navigate it. Worst of all, when you approach the park entrance, the first thing you see is a lot full of weeds---and ratty old, apparently deserted RV's and old trucks, etc. Very unappealing. On the plus side, the office staff is very friendly and helpful and this location is only about 20 minutes or so from Yosemite. We camped at High Sierra RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

Go to Yosemite, and go EARLY in the day...sunrise early. And don't ride the free shuttle buses unless you have to. They cram them so full you can barely breathe.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Pictures on website do not accurately portray the park. Premium sites are very close and have dirt tent sites right below them. Across the river you look at a large industrial building with trucks parked in a parking lot. Bathrooms and showers are dismal. We camped at High Sierra RV & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Easy to get in if you turn on Golden Oak Dr off of CA 426. Interior navigation is tight. Sites are very close together. Only a couple sites will work for satellite. Wifi very slow. Verizon signal is strong. Utilities worked fine. Office personnel very nice and very helpful. Laundry has two each washer and dryer but only one working when we were here. About as close to Yosemite NP as you will get for a big rig and full hook-ups. There is a picnic table and fire ring but the tight site puts them about 2-3 feet from your rig. We camped at High Sierra RV & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Welcome/Visitor Information center in town, just uphill from CA-426, is excellent. Very knowledgeable/helpful staff on both Yosemite and the entire surrounding area. This is between 1.5 and 2 hours from Yosemite Valley depending on how fast you drive on mountain roads and stops for logging work/construction. Groceries at Raleys is best balance of price and selection. South Gate Brewing Company had good food and beer. Good, very authentic Mexican food at Taqueria Plazuelas.

Nice clean park. Very friendly staff that was willing to let us move to a better site when it came open. Easy in and out with 41' class A and toad, although necessary to unhook toad at check in due to tight quarters. Nice location in town and easy access to south entrance into Yosemite. We stayed in a pull through site. There are only two. It was not next to the river, but we preferred it and would stay there again. We had a hill behind us and the access road in front. We liked the separation and privacy. Roads and pads were gravel. We had two small trees.

The river is not free flowing and more like a pond.

The school across the river and the business next to it were a bit loud. After about 5:00pm, the noise dropped and it was quiet at night. We camped at High Sierra RV & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed for 5 nights, Friday, Saturday rates are $2 higher for the premium sites. The park is located in the city, convenient for shopping/restaurants. The office staff were very friendly and helpful. The sites as indicated by other reviews are close, as are the firepit/picnic table to the adjacent site. The Fresno River flows behind the park, waterfall at the other end. The sites are a combination gravel and grass. We camped at High Sierra RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed for 3 nights. Seemed to be a little pricey for what you get, but then you are in a popular tourist area. Tight spots to get backed into with a 34' trailer, better be a good backer. Driveways are gravel, site pads are mostly dirt, but level. Each power pedestal serves both a right side/left side connection, not sure our unit slides/awning would have even had enough room had there been a unit in the adjacent site. We had power issues, receptacles got hot and breakers tripped when our load exceeded 20 amps on a 30 amp service, they need to do some maintenance on their power pedestals. Water, sewer, cable tv, and wifi all worked fine. Picnic tables and a fire ring/grill is at most sites. Friendly staff, good adequate laundry facilities. The short term rv sites are located along a river, although there was no water running during our visit. Other long term rv sites and mobile homes are on a hill above this park, but we had no issues with them. Great location for access into Yosemite National Park. Evenings and nights were quiet during our stay, however just across the river is a public skate park and an industrial equipment yard. The equipment started up every morning we were there and made noise from 5:45am to 6:30am. One morning during our stay the trash truck ran around 4:30am and I think the driver was mad that he was the only one working during that time as he made sure the entire neighborhood was woke up. We would stay here again as long as it was during their off season like this trip was. We camped at High Sierra RV & Campground in a Travel Trailer.
