This park is on the dunes at Pismo Beach. Nice walking path to the Dunes. Our space was level and sunny. We met family there and had spaces right next to each other. I tried to use my RPI guest pass, but since it is an Encore Resort, they don't accept guest passes, which meant I had to pay the extra for our guests. Laundry was small, both dryers out of order, and only one washer working. We have stayed here several times and like the park. Would come back again. We camped at Pacific Dunes Ranch RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Splash downtown Pismo for Clam Chowder (you may have to wait in line), American Melodrama, Mission at Lompoc, along with murals, good grocery just down the main street, or Walmart across the freeway. No noise except the waves, which you can hear if the wind is right.

Staff very helpful and friendly - even carried a heavy delivery out to my vehicle from the office. Always had treats for dog. Fox tails were a huge problem. They have sprayed but they need to be pulled to remove hazard for pets. Great location with dunes access. We camped at Pacific Dunes Ranch RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Some positive park changes since the last time we've stayed here - new working washer/dryers, renovation of the upper bathrooms, and extra TLC when cleaning sites after campers leave (raking areas). The office and park staff are very friendly and helpful. We like this park not just for the costs vs other parks in the area, but for the people and the location. We camped at Pacific Dunes Ranch RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The park has recently upgraded the laundry facilities - a welcome change. New washers/dryers! The park does have a number of long-term residents but most have kept their individual sites clean and neat. We like this particular park because of its location and great staff. The park itself is a bit rough but all of the basics are there - clean water/power and working sewer. And, the sun shines most days with access to the sand dunes within walking distance at the edge of the park. We camped at Pacific Dunes Ranch RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

A quiet park a bit off the beaten path. The office people could not have been any nicer! The dunes were a sight to see. A longer hike than we had expected to reach the ocean, but hey, we are on vacation so we had all day! Enjoyed our stay and would stay again given the chance! We camped at Pacific Dunes Ranch RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Those are some tight pull-through spaces. It doesn't help there's a 4ft dead palm tree stump where our slide out goes--it barely cleared it. Other than that, our experience was great.

We picked this campground because of its location and the positive reviews on rvparkreviews. Our friends brought their RZR and we towed it a couple of miles to the dunes for a day of off-roading. No fire pits. Avoid sites near the bathrooms due to sewer smells. Didn't realize there was cable until the last hour we were leaving. We're new to RV'ing and didn't know the cable outlet was on the pedestal. We camped at Pacific Dunes Ranch RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Interesting park in that it backs up to some of the largest sand dunes area in California. Definitely not close to the beach. It is a mile and a half hike over the dunes by foot. All of the sites on the outside perimeter are lease holders and most have landscaped their sites. They have also put up wind breaks composed of various materials. Some are better maintained than others. Short term guests, such as ourselves, are in the center aisles, which are pull through, a little narrow. With our 33 foot 5th wheel, it makes it a little difficult to park our full size truck! People are friendly, both the office staff and the other residents. We would stay here again. Our rate reflects our RPI membership fee and the off season rates. We camped at Pacific Dunes Ranch RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The beach, by car, is several miles away. Lots of little beach towns with lots of stores and restaurants nearby. There is a Von's and a Trader Joes about 5 miles away. Horse back riding is available at this park.

We really enjoyed are stay at Pacific Dunes. Had a pull thru and the spots where actually wider than I expected based on some reviews I've read. Had plenty of room on both sides of trailer. I did notice some do have issues with the palm trees which are at the front of some spaces but not all. The people to left of us had a palm tree in front left corner of their space and struggled to get the 40 ft 5th wheel in because of it. The space I was in wasn't completely level but wasn't to bad and worked it out. We were in lower section mot far from the office. Hoping to get upper level next time because views to east look great from up there. Can't see ocean to west because of the dunes but it's close and not a far drive to enjoy day at beach. If you have dogs no great area for walking them. There are some bushes around edges of park which works but no nice grass area. Only grass is by office and it's not maintained and looks to be more weeds than grass. Would be nice if they cleaned it up and mowed it. There were a couple other little miner issues that bothered us but overall really did enjoy the stay and sure we will go back. We camped at Pacific Dunes Ranch RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

If you want wifi it is provided by tengointernet. To start the service you have to go to start.tengointernet.com . The information provided to me from the park did not tell me this but it did have a phone number I called and got good help. They do charge and you can only use one computer per account login. For me wasn't to bad but for a family with several tablets could be expensive.

The $18 rate reflects the RPI rate. The sites are gravel with full hookups, cable TV, and a picnic table. If you have your own fire ring you can burn wood. The sites are quite narrow, so when you and your neighbor have the slide-outs out, there's not a lot of space for your outdoor "patio". There is no shade, but usually there is a nice breeze from the ocean. We were parked next another couple traveling with us in their coach. So we parked to one edge of our site giving us more room in between for our common "patio" area. There are beautiful sand dunes between the park and the ocean. But don't think it is an easy walk to the ocean - it's over a 1/2 mile of rolling sand dunes. The restrooms and showers are clean. There is no pool or spa. They do offer horseback riding along the sand dunes to the ocean. We camped at Pacific Dunes Ranch RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This park is on the edge of the sand dunes in Pismo beach when we looked at the web site it made it look like the beach was within walking distance. The dunes are a good 1/2 mile of huge rolling sand hills so do not plan on walking to the beach. You can rent horses and ride to the beach. It was $50 an hour. This park also does not have many amenities; it’s a bare bones park but it was pretty clean. 2 complaints, the people here drive through the park very fast. They have a speed limit of 10 but it's not enforced. Also even though there are dog baggies right before you enter the sand dunes most people either bag it and leave the bags out in the sand or they don’t bother to bag it at all. But all in all it’s a clean park and in a nice quiet location. We camped at Pacific Dunes Ranch RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We like so many things about this park - nice staff, friendly campers, long term sites are clean/neat, great views, near to beaches/dunes, restaurants, etc. etc. etc. We just wish they would apply some basic TLC. You know - paint bath/laundry rooms, ensure washer/dryers work properly, install solid doors for shower enclosures, etc. We will probably continue to go but it would be great to see some improvements. So we "won" a week in this campground....so I shouldn't really complain but if I had been paying full price, I'd not stay here. The use of "Resort" in the name is a stretch! Your on/near the Dunes but the CG has No pool or spa. The bathrooms/showers could use some updating, cable provides about 20 channels, if you want Internet access its via Tengo-net for 17.00 a week, the sites are extremely close together although we were fortunate to get an end site(#34) which provided a little breathing room. The CG has a number of full time occupied sites. The access to Pismo eateries/shop's was pretty good, only a few miles down the road. All the utilities were good, Verizon cell excellent and AT&T WEB access was good too, no worry about good Sat signals...no tree's to be found. We stayed a week. We camped at Pacific Dunes Ranch RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Great scenic place to rest up and enjoy the scenery of the dunes. Clean and well kept place. We saw the maintenance guy throughout the day carting around. We would come back to this place. Nothing beats waking up to see the dunes. We camped at Pacific Dunes Ranch RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Nice, no frills, out in the country feel, campground. Fairly long pull-through sites, though rather tight between spaces. Wifi is available but not free. My Verizon mifi & Sprint phone worked well here. No planes, trains, or automobile noise though you can hear the waves from the ocean from a mile away over the sand dunes. The sand dunes were really cool. You have to climb over several to be able to see the ocean, but it is worth it. Staff was very nice and gave places to see in the area. The laundry facilities were a little worn, but they worked. We had problems with a barking dog a couple of days but for the most part loved our stay. It isn't well marked to get here, and I was kind of unsure of where I was going as this is down a road that dead-ends at the park. The park & the horse corral are the only things on the road. You do go over a train track to get there, but I only heard the train a couple of times, and it was only for a short time. There was wind coming off the ocean ever afternoon, but it wasn't bad, just cool. I would definitely stay here again. The dunes are very pretty and ever changing. We camped at Pacific Dunes Ranch RV Resort in a Motorhome.
