This is one of our Favorite parks most of the spaces in the Loop can see the Ocean which is about a mile walk from the campground. FYI, No dogs allowed on the beach. We have no problem getting our High Cube fifth wheel in any of the sites although some of the trees get a little close. This is an expensive campground but for the views and the cool air it is worth every penny. We camped at Santa Cruz North / Costanoa KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Expensive but nice facility. Near the coast so you can see the ocean from the park. Nice rest rooms and showers. Lots of trees. Located out in the "boonies" so it's quiet. Verizon cell signal is a little weak. Small but adequate laundry room. Motel and restaurant on site but we did not visit. Store with lots of high end items like soap, wine, craft beer, all natural snacks, etc. I would describe it as dog tolerant but not friendly. I chose this park because of the trails but upon arriving we found out dogs are not allowed even on leash. There is a very large grassy area to walk them which would be fine for a day I suppose but for a longer stay it is limiting for those of us who take their dogs on long walks. We camped at Santa Cruz North / Costanoa KOA in a Motorhome.

Located about 30 miles north of Santa Cruz which is a very nice small city to visit and the drive there along the coast is scenic.

Park is nice and clean. Have stayed here several times over the last few years. The only problem this last time were the skunks. At night while we were around the fire pit, lots of them would come out. So many that the kids didn't want to walk to the restrooms. I have never seen it this bad before. We camped at Santa Cruz North / Costanoa KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Nice campsite with a lot of facilities. Showers and restrooms are clean but not the newest ones. Sites are big enough and offers a lot of free space around the vehicle. We were very surprised about the enormous price. It costs too much compared to the service (no BBQ at the site, no swimming pool). We camped at Santa Cruz North / Costanoa KOA in a Motorhome.

Beautiful location and setting. Park is very well maintained. Stayed in a pull through premium site which was very narrow and close to the neighboring site. No cell phone reception which would be less of an issue if the Wi-Fi in the park was working, which it wasn't. All of the equipment is there but no signal. Park staff advised us the signal is "sketchy" but my suspicion is it was turned off in the RV area for the off season. At check in we were given a full page of rules to follow. Most are common sense but each rule is followed with a dollar amount for the fine that would be levied for violations up to $350, REALLY!! Park is not dog friendly as dogs are limited to a defined area, ($350 fine for violation). In fairness I didn't see anyone being harassed over a violation but then most RV folks are decent people who just want to enjoy themselves and not annoy others. I would hope management rethinks the monetary fine matter and just makes sure the advertised services are functional. We camped at Santa Cruz North / Costanoa KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice park, but the price is absurd for the narrow cement pad we were on. The three different price levels are for different loops in the park, all of which seemed identical so I'm not sure why there were price differences. We stayed in the cheapest, but it seemed nicest too, with a raised platform for seating or a tent, a bbq, firepit electric, water, and sewage. We were at the end near the ocean so we could hear the waves at night. The park is very clean and the service is very friendly, just can't rate them so high given the price. We camped at Santa Cruz North / Costanoa KOA in a Motorhome.

When making these reservations I picked this site because I assumed the spots being called "Whale" would mean spacious for big rigs. Not the case. With slides on both sides there was just enough room for a picnic table right on the line of the neighbors site. Usually we don't care about Wifi. But since there was no cell signal we couldn't even stream music. Oh and the spot was so unlevel that my starboard wheels were off the ground. Thank god for auto level system. But far as location of the park it is awesome to be so close to so many different areas of the coast. We already scouted out a better spot in the park for next year. Which should make it more enjoyable. We camped at Santa Cruz North / Costanoa KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Paved sites that were a bit narrow. View of ocean in the distance. Told on registering that water pressure was 50+psi and water was non potable. Cable and wi fi were good. No verizon service in area. Biggest issue was dogs are restriced to campground area and not most of trails.
Lot of grass and maintained very well. Store and resturant were price. Only 3 washing machines for 190 sites. We camped at Santa Cruz North / Costanoa KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The location of this park is stunning with an easy walk to the ocean. The walk is deceptively long, but certainly worth it. Sites in the Seascape loop offer plenty of room in between sites. Some leveling is required, but not enough to be a bother. This place isn't very dog friendly. Dogs must stay in the campground area of the resort. They are not allowed on the beach. However, upon check-in, the front desk help will provide a list of beaches that are dog friendly.

A taproom is less than a mile stumble from the park and nearby Gazos Creek Road offers a scenic back-roads drive through some lush foliage. We camped at Santa Cruz North / Costanoa KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The small town of Pescadero (15 minutes to the north) is quaint and has a bakery that offers fresh-baked bread. Get there early, as this place is popular and parking is scarce.

This is our favorite place to stay in the Santa Cruz area. We have checked out and stayed in probably 10 other camps in the area. WiFi is excellent compared to most. Staff is excellent, couldn't be better. Some walking trails, near the ocean (plenty of foggy mornings/days) so is cooler than inland parks. The rate is high but the staff, surroundings and WiFi make up for it. This is a resort with the exception of no pool. The food is top notch. They also have a lodge for non campers, store, special event hall and great restaurant. You can rent fire rings and they have lots of green space for games. Reasons I did not give a 10 overall is no pool and closeness of sites but next time, we will get a deluxe site which is supposed to be more spacious. We camped at Santa Cruz North / Costanoa KOA in a Motorhome.

Really nice place and great staff. Paved sites with grass and trees. Good place for kids with plenty to do. Beaches, hiking, sightseeing, lots for the adults. Santa Cruz is south, Half Moon Bay is north. Upscale restaurant and general store on site. Really crowded on weekends. Will stay again when in area. No cell phone service unless near check-in area (AT&T is best reception). We camped at Santa Cruz North / Costanoa KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Interesting place. A combo of KOA and camping lodge. We stayed in Coastal Village sites. OK, but grass dead in this section. Sites not level front to back. No Verizon cell and Wi-Fi did not work in Coastal Village loop. It worked at the lodge and restaurant area. About 20 miles north of Santa Cruz. Restaurant on site, but a little on the high end. Not much nearby to eat . Too out of the way for us. We were visiting Santa Cruz boardwalk area. We camped at Santa Cruz North / Costanoa KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Typical overpriced KOA, although it does have lots of grass and trees. Has a restaurant on site. Ten miles to Pescadero. Had to go to the restaurant parking lot to get Wi-Fi; nothing at the site. Sites were paved but not really level. Had to change sites to get more level. We camped at Santa Cruz North / Costanoa KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Nice park and close to the ocean (across the highway) with an ocean view after a short walk. Base rate was $46 but taxes, dog fee (one dog), and some sort of "service fee" put the total at around $63. Pull through sites. Nice onsite restaurant, a bit expensive; although, the chicken Caesars salad was great. We picked this park because it was pouring down rain and we wanted to stop driving. Overall, an okay place, nothing special. We camped at Santa Cruz North / Costanoa KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a fairly clean park ,and they do try to do well, but do not advertise you have wifi when most of the time it doesn't work. So since there is absolutely no phone service, it would be nice to have communication with the outside world. We will probably be back because the restaurant and the staff are wonderful. Now you can go to the hotel and use their courtesy phone, which is nice, but I would prefer reliable wifi. The pull throughs in the Whale section has the worst wifi. So pick your spot carefully. You cannot beat the location. We camped at Santa Cruz North / Costanoa KOA in a Motorhome.
