This is one of the nicest KOA we have stayed. We had a premium site and was $$$$ I’m a KOA member so got a slight discount. LOTS of kids and LOTS of kids activities. Very busy park but my kids had a blast. Regular sites are just gravel and dirt, little grass. There are so many nice trees grass can grow. Very shaded. We had a concrete patio, nice fire pit area and furniture. Nice pool, store, petting zoo, bouncy park, movies outside at night. If you looking for a quiet park, might not be a fit, but if your looking for a nice family with kids park. It’s awesome. We have a 43ft 5th wheel. It was tight getting in. We camped at San Francisco North / Petaluma KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is a very busy campground - more like a small city that you camp in. It is amazing how well maintained it is considering the volume of people and pets. Our end site was across from the office and had dumpsters on it. When the wind was right, we had the odor from the animals at the petting zoo. Although the grass is watered every night, around the RV it is just packed dirt which turns muddy after the watering. However, these sites are larger, more private, and more shaded than the ones at the top of the hill. If I returned, I'd try for a spot at the other end of the row from the office - much quieter and grassier. There are lots of places to walk dogs, but there are so many other dogs and children on bikes that caution is required at all times. The campground is in a very convenient location for exploring Sonoma's wine country, so we'd return. We camped at San Francisco North / Petaluma KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a hugh Park and worth the tout of being a resort! It's pricey but they have great amenities to back it up! Gigantic pool, big jump apparatus, Tint bikes (kiddo friendly). We had a delux site, absolutely beautiful patio with table chairs/with umbrella, Log bench. This site and Park was just manicured... I saw maintenance guys washing off the electrical pedestal (no joke). We have been pretty impressed! Loved our stay here! And a guy washed out RV!! We camped at San Francisco North / Petaluma KOA in a Motorhome.

Close to San Francisco 45 miles, but we stayed here for Napa and Sonoma Wineries! Must go to "Artesa" winery.... best views (make a reservation for outside patio) and the wine is good! We ate at Mustards Grill.....and a cool winery right next door!

We stayed here for one night. Disappointed Our site was like others around it was on a terrace hill, the site was not level with dead grass. With a lack of water I can understand that it is hard to keep grass alive, but another landscaping material could be used. For the price you pay I expected more. They have some sites that are paved with patios, they are even more expensive. On the positive side there is a pool, playground, petting zoo etc. Good for kids. Electricity, water and sewer were in good condition. We camped at San Francisco North / Petaluma KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This was our favorite campground for a quick getaway but unfortunately they have now priced themselves way out of our budget. Too bad-a great facility and very well maintained but over a hundred bucks a night for a spot? Ridiculous! Oh well, there are other places to go. This is a large RV park that is improving several lots to make them premium sites. The premium site I had a very nice patio with furniture, fire pit, stamped concrete. Great place for kids with a pool and petting farm. I would stay here again in my motorhome. WiFi - weak signal; T-Mobile - 2 of 4 bars; Electric - no issues; Water - no issues; Sewer - no issues; Satellite - no issues, fenced dog area with grass, unlevel site. We camped at San Francisco North / Petaluma KOA in a Motorhome.

We reserved our site for 2 nights, but ended up extending it for 2 more nights with no problems. We stayed here to visit San Francisco. We didn’t use any of the amenities. Would probably stay here again if in the area. We camped at San Francisco North / Petaluma KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here one rainy February night when we took a coastal route to get back home to Oregon. We paid too much for that, but the decision was ours to stay here. They had us initial (in 3 places) and sign a hold harmless waiver like we were renting a car. We've never had to do that at any other campground. We won't do it again. The campground is beautiful and well-landscaped. We stayed in a pull through site in the Vineyard Terrace area. Sites were raised and terraced. They have nice, modern private showers and bathrooms. There are slate floors and tiled walls. One side of the building had the bathrooms. The other side had the showers. There is some up and down and tight turns while maneuvering through the campground. We camped at San Francisco North / Petaluma KOA in a Motorhome.

Avoid this RV park if you can. Problem is, there are not many choices around San Francisco. The place was jammed with people, crowds of kids running around, it's a large park on a hillside. They come and clean your tanks every day when sewer is not available. We didn't like staying there and would avoid it when possible. Not good considering the price!! We camped at San Francisco North / Petaluma KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall, a nice park, but very expensive. It is well maintained, well staffed, and has controlled access. Sites are close with tight, but manageable interior paved roads. Sites 93-102 and 113-118 are the nicest, with sites 137-166 also nice, but closer together. Our site (155) was difficult to get a 43 foot motorhome into and did not have room for our tow vehicle, but we found a parking spot nearby. A variety of amenities and activities for children, small dog park, petting zoo, pool. We camped at San Francisco North / Petaluma KOA in a Motorhome.

Lagunitas brewery close by, as is Henhouse (our favorite) and 101 North Brewing. Russian River Brewing brewpub in Santa Rosa is a good dinner option. San Francisco is about 45-60 min drive.

Because of the fires in California I had to rearrange my plans for the trip, and so went to this park at the last minute. It is a very nice park, but was quite expensive. Paid more than I normally would have. Pull through site was good, with shade from big trees. Well kept grounds, and a lot of amenities. Did the Online booking for a 40' class A with slides and tow. 50amp, with sewer. Price was about $100. per night (Fri.-Mon). The park was jammed with campers, kids, bikes. The spot I had, was on a fairly steep grade with barely enough room (had to make several maneuvers in order to get it onto the lot). The picnic table on the lot had to be moved off the lot onto the embankment in order to bring the slid out. Fortunately, I carry additional blocks to put under the leveling system. I needed them. There was a Fire Ring on the site, but could not sit anywhere by it. It's positioned on the downside bank. Noticed 'others' used it as a 'trash' deposit area. It's a great kids park, with lots of things and other kids to play with. Friends stayed in the newer sites (pull-thru). They are very nice with composite patio deck and chairs. It would have been nice to stay there if I would have known. The only disadvantage is the wind. Open area. Did not use any of the facilities, so I can't comment on that. We camped at San Francisco North / Petaluma KOA in a Motorhome.

We always enjoy staying at a KOA and this location was no different. There are tons of activities and friendly staff. This was by far the largest and busiest KOA we have ever stayed at.
