We have stayed at this park multiple times. Sometimes we stay for several days, sometimes like this visit it is just a one night stop between Grants Pass and Sacramento. You are escorted to your site after checking in at the office. All personnel have always been friendly and happy to help with questions. Nice long sites which don't require us to unhook. Green grass, paved roads and a nice pond / fountain area crest a nice relaxing environment. We camped at Durango RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Luigi's delivers pizza to the park or you can walk over less than .5 miles. Pie is available at Shari's which is also within walking distance. The Sugar Shack down town provides a nice breakfast or lunch.

We pulled in during the CARR Fire while traveling from Oregon back to So Cal. It was a very clean property. The staff at the front desk were wonderful. The space we used was clean, long and well maintained. Plenty of resources: the pool and spa were wonderful, especially during the extreme heat. Showers were clean. The trash pick up was at 10:00 am and overall experience was wonderful. Would gladly stay again. Highly recommend. We camped at Durango RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:
Beautiful park consisting of 172 FHU RV spaces with cable and picnic table. Sites are a mix of back-in and pull throughs, nicely situated with pretty landscaping all around. Interior roads are asphalt and easy to navigate. Sites are all concrete and wide, with grass in between. Some sites have a view of the Sacramento river, but there is no direct river access. We stayed in site 141, a long, mostly level pull through site which was spacious enough for our 40' fifth wheel and tow dually. This park has a large pool, hot tub, several outdoor gas firepits, horseshoes, basketball court, putting greens, exercise room and they even have massage services! Nice office with small selection of gifts, snacks, ice and rv supplies. Restrooms were well kept and cleaned daily. Two laundry areas on site. Utilities worked well and Verizon service was good. Daily garbage pick-up at your site. The park is located close to I-5 so there is quite a bit of road noise. You will also hear the horns from a nearby train during the night which can be very loud! There is a walking trail that leads out of the park (the only area not gated), but there is a homeless encampment there so be aware. However, the park is patrolled regularly. We enjoyed our stay and would most definitely return. We camped at Durango RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:
There is a grocery store within walking distance from the park. Walmart is just a few miles away. We spent an afternoon at Rolling Hills casino which was 15 minutes south of the park. Lots of smoke from the nearby Carr fire and our vehicle/trailer was covered in ash. Go to the Sugar Shack café on Main street. Their breakfast plates are HUGE and delicious!

We just spent 8 nights with Durango, which their owners and staff made a great experience despite very trying circumstances. You see, we pulled our fifth wheel in on very short notice, after evacuating our home during the #CarrFire in Redding. We called from the highway to ask if they had spots, and the first question was, "are you fire evacuees." The agent said the owners had told them to hold all available spots for evacuees, anticipating that many of the 38,000 displaced victims would need places to stay for days or weeks. Admirably, while the local news was reporting about other businesses price gouging, Durango reduced their normal $53 nightly rate by 60% to just $24 for evacuees. On top of that, they actively contacted local businesses to request donations of basic supplies that rushed evacuees might not have had a chance to bring such as dishes, cooking utensils, first aid supplies, and even items as simple as laundry soap. We look forward to visiting again soon under better circumstances!! Oh, did I mention the facilities are great? We camped at Durango RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We were evacuees from the Carr Fire in Redding. Didn't get to the park until after 11:00 P.M. but they had the gate open and staff in the office. We were assigned a spot and they took us to it. Said come back in the morning to pay. Let us pay day to day at half price rate until the evacuation for our area was lifted. Can not say enough nice things about Durango RV Park. We camped at Durango RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Have stayed here a number of times in the past few years, each time we had a riverfront site since it affords more grassy 'living space' essentially. These sites can accommodate both back-in and pull-in, as they have very good utilities on both sides. They slope towards the river, so MH drainage may be an issue if you pull in (our front wheels were off the ground) Weather during our stay was in the high 90's and no 50 amp power issues. The very large and cool pool was almost empty, so that was enjoyable. A number of tables there with umbrellas as well as lounge chairs. Curbside trash pickup is nice, and as one reviewer already said, it would be nice to have a receptacle at the end of the site instead of bags lying around each site. Check in was very friendly, professional and quick. The young man who checked us in also escorted us to the site and went over the layout with us. Second negative was the guy in the large noisy lawnmower at 9am on a 99 degree day whizzing through each site, including the grassy living spaces in front of the sites, moving your chairs and things out of the way. No forewarning of this. River was very high and very fast moving. Be careful hiking near the freeway underpass...homeless encampment. We camped at Durango RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Shari's Cafe does have excellent pies. Their food is just ok. Luigi's has great pizza and salads and stuff, and they deliver. Very pricey pizza though. Food Maxx next door has about all you need. Didn't know (and their website doesn't indicate nor the front desk doesn't tell you) that Luigi's Pizza is closed on Monday. We did use them on Tuesday and they delivered excellent food to our site.

This is a wonderful, relatively new park. Spacious sites with full hookups. Two laundry areas. Gated community with fountains and the Sacramento River running next to it. Cable is good; Wifi was good. Very quiet, even though it is right on I-5. A bit tricky to get to it. Take the Antelope off-ramp (from south turn left - from north turn right) and go to Central. Turn right and go to Lake. Turn right again and left into the park. We camped at Durango RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Luigi's was great for pizza and they delivered. Peking Restaurant was only fair for Chinese food. There is a run down shopping center next door with just a rinky-dink grocery store but has a Shari's (good pie). Gas stations, restaurants and Main Street are all close.

Charged for a water feature site but can only see the water feature if outside in front of RV. If you really want a water feature I suggest you ask for 88 on up.

Walk to Shari's for breakfast, excellent prime rib on Fridays; also groceries and pizza. Local pizza/pasta place delivers to site. Path to river is a little sketchy once you leave the RV grounds. RV park is between freeway and train tracks (of course!), so pick which is less annoying to you!

Beautiful resort with golf close by, friendly and accommodating staff. Free coffee every morning, exercise room, massage room. What's not to like. Evening gas fired fire pit for social gatherings. Pool and spa round out the experience all clean and well maintained.

Nice area to explore. Town is fun and the wildlife refuge outside of town is a must see.

Luigi's was great.

Shopping was very convenient and easy to get to. Restaurants were nearby. Easy on and off to I-5. When following GPS, it says to make right turn on to Center Street. We made a "sharp" right. Do not make the "sharp" right. Was still able to get to the park, but much easier following Center. Corner is a little confusing.

Walk to the very closest restaurant for a delicious breakfast. Maybe even a key lime pie!
biosensai • April 2015 -
There is a nice pool and spa with a gas fire pit so even on a cool evening it is a pleasant place.

There are two good restaurants within a short walking distance right outside the park itself. One is a Shari's that offers good breakfasts as well as lunch and dinner. The other is Luigi's Pizza & Pasta and THEY DELIVER right to your RV for a very small delivery charge. The pizza arrives hot and is one of the best in the area, you cannot eat just one slice and beats the Round Table up the street by a county mile..................
