I have been here many times and alway gave 5 stars, but this time, we arrived and were with three other RVs as a group. Two rigs had already arrived and were in space 91 and 93 the assigned me space 92 right between the others just as we had requested. I was escorted to my space and some one was already in my space. So I was told I had to take 95. We still had a great time, but something should have been done to Rectify the Situation.
So this trip the park only gets 4 stars. Everything else was great. We camped at Durango RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Fountain is on timer, came on in the morning, slightly startling until we realized what the noise was. Yes, you can hear the freeway noise, but it is not terrible. Closest to the freeway are the long term sites. Clean and well kept facility. Power pedestal on BOTH sides of site. Allows back in or pull in! The surrounding area is not the best, but nothing to worry about if cautious. Site 86 has the path to the pool next to it. If a concern, park with your entry door/awning on the other side. We arrived late and left early...If arriving late, ask how to get in. The gate is locked, you have to use a call box, but one sign said no late arrivals. Would use the facility again. We camped at Durango RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

This was our second and third stay. A couple of nights passing through the area and 3 nights to visit nearby attractions. There was a slight improvement from our first visit. The park is a short drive from I-5 (Exit 649: Antelope Rd) along paved roads. The intersection of Antelope & East Ave is pitched making the turn interesting. And East Av is a rather narrow residential road. The sites are a mixture of back-ins along two sides and P/T's in the middle. There was an escort to the site. Extended stay sites seemed to be spread out between the back-ins and P/T's. The interior roads are paved. The site parking pads are concrete with a gentle transition from the road to the pad. The interior roads and turns are wide enough to negotiate without much problem. The P/T sites were long enough for coaches & their toads. This park understands the simple concept of the importance of a flat, level site as most of the sites were level and flat. The site orientation allowed RV's to cast shade onto the patio side. Only a handful required blocking to get level. Saw one motorhome with its' wheels off the ground. Curbside garbage pickup. There are a few trees scattered around the park so satellite reception would be dependent upon site assignment and your dish configuration. The park brochure showed about 61 cable channels but made no mention of broadcast channels. Didn't try to get any broadcast channels. The park provided WiFi is through TengoInternet so you have to register an account to use it if you don't have one. Reception was good but occupancy was low. Our Verizon WiFi hotspot worked well. Didn't try the NET10 phone so don't know about the reception. The designated fenced pet areas were on either side of the park. They had a decomposed granite surface. There was a bag dispenser and waste collection station in the fenced pet area for waste. There was sufficient area to walk dogs along the park roads. We camped at Durango RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We found the river front lots to be sloped to the point it was impossible to level the coach without the wheels leaving the ground by 4"...the view of the river was nice if you didn't mind sharing the river with the noise and view of the freeway. Overall the park was clean and green with grass and trees. Due to the location being right on the freeway we felt it was overpriced. We camped at Durango RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful, spacious RV park. I would have scored it higher but for the fact that I didn't get the river view site I had requested, having made the reservation five months earlier. I know that they won't always guaranty sites, but what bothered me is the site I wanted, which I asked for again at check-in, sat vacant for the three nights we were there. Instead we got a site right next to the restroom with a patio area that everyone cut through to see the river. The WiFi, during our stay, was horrible, and we had to use our Verizon Jetpack the entire time. Otherwise, a wonderful RV park with great facilities, a beautiful pool, lovely fountains, spacious roads, long concrete level sites, good utilities, very good cable, satellite reception. We camped at Durango RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We have stayed in this park many times since it was first opened. During our recent stay, we were very surprised to see amount of weeds growing everywhere. It is a shame, because this park used to be so lovely.

I am against the use of poisonous chemicals to control weeds, but there are many people who could use the money if the owners hired them to pull the weeds. We camped at Durango RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed 2 nts in pull-thru spot; 38 ft MH with tow. Have stayed several times before. Best cable channel list (63 channels) ANYWHERE!. Security gates. Picnic table and grass at site. Nice pool/spa/Clubhouse. Good WiFi.
Friendly staff. Interior landscaping needs attention - weeds growing in
most spaces. Noise from I-5 is not relaxing to sit outside, but slept fine. We camped at Durango RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Red Bluff is a nice, relaxing litte town. Much less traffic than in Redding, 30 miles north. April is good month to visit before it gets too hot.
Grocery store, strip mall, Denny's and Sharon's restaurants just outside park. Don't miss Luigi's restaurant. Great food, large portions, very reasonably priced. Outlet mall in Anderson, a few miles north. Endless shopping in Redding. Rolling Hills Casino about 14 miles south on I-5.

Nice park with cement pads and grass between sites. Long enough pull-thrus that did not have to unhook tow car (except sewer). Nice pool and amenities, the down side is the noise from I-5 making it unpleasant to be outside, if that does not matter then the park is a "9". At $40 it is a good value. Overall Rating:

This was a very nice park but did fall short in a couple of areas. To get a 10 from me a private shower is a must, this place has shower stalls in the bathroom that were clean, but not private like some of the best parks we've rated. Secondly, the brochure shows ping pong as an amenity. We were able to get a new un-cracked ball at the counter but the paddles were torn up and should be thrown in the trash. The table could also use some attention. For the money spent here, they should strive for excellence. The internet was excellent; the sites have hookups on either side to enable you to pull or back in. Curbside trash service and propane pickup and filling is available. Fires are lit until 10pm and are cozy. They advertised coffee available until 10pm in the rec area but when we went back later in the evening (7pm) the coffee was all put away. The park sits on the Sacramento River but is fenced with a locked gate in back. To access the river you have to walk around the outside of the park. Because of the proximity to I-5 I suggest getting a site on the west side of the park. There was some train whistles now and then but not bad. This park is conveniently located next to a Sharis restaurant and a grocery store as well as other places within easy walking distance. We would return here and hope they pay a little more attention to detail so we could give a 9. No discounts are available if you reside in a riverside site. This was my 4th time at Durango. Normally the park has earned a 10+...the Wi-Fi was mostly slow if at all...and that was with everyone in my group (RVW). The Dog run surface was so powdery, that my normally white dog turned a chalky color and I had to bathe him...the powder blew in the air whenever he/I walked and billowed when he ran. Perhaps some fine pebbles or DG. We camped at Durango RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Beautiful park and amenities. Not much to do outside the park and it can get real hot here. The dog runs could really use some shade. Other then that the pool and grounds are amazing. We stayed on a river front spot which was beautiful. The only problem was on the other side of the park where we had a lot of noise from people doing donuts in their car and we woke to a homeless person sleeping in the bushes. I truly would return but probably only overnight or during the colder months We camped at Durango RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our time at this campground. This is a very clean park. Park is close to restaurants and grocery shops. Easy access to freeway, but being close to the freeway also creates some noise throughout the park. Premium spots include a river view, but also a view of the freeway. We found this place to be very buggy so bring your insect repellent. Park also included small pet yards and a pet wash. WiFi was good, getting satellite was easy and our Verizon phone reception was strong. Recreation hall, pool, spa and laundry facilities were very clean and impressive. Gas stone fire pits and seating areas are located outside both recreation halls. We found this park to be expensive. We camped at Durango RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Clean and beautiful park. Only 5 years old. Well managed. Only reason for reduced rating was Wi-Fi incredibly unreliable. Say they are getting a new set up but not there yet. Asked about it at office and were told we were the only ones to ever mention it. Next week there was a notice in their newsletter that they knew it was bad and were trying to fix it.
