This is a beautiful campground full of oaks dripping with Spanish Moss. The terrain undulates, so some of the spots are high and some low and widely spaced. The road and sites are all paved. Our site was plenty large enough for our trailer and truck. Some of the sites looked pretty short. I don't think anything too large would fit in here. We did have to level a bit side to side. Bathrooms are very tired and old, but clean. It was a good location for exploring the area. The coast is within an hour and Armstrong Woods is a great place to see redwoods. Good ATT cell service. We camped at Spring Lake Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful wooded campground for dry camping. There were beautiful trails for walking and hiking and exploring. The lake is very nice for kayaking and fishing (bass). It's serene! We saw several deer. However, this is not the place for big RVs. Ours is a 37' class A (just under 13' high) We reserved the only pull-through site (site # 5) and we did fit just fine but it was stressful at first. The height of the tree's is not conducive to bigger rigs. It took patient navigating. We had to unhitch and re-hitch outside the park. But the site size/length was fine. We had a great stay (one night as a stopover) it was quiet, and truly beautiful. We'd stay again if we needed a stopover but only in this site. The ranger on duty was so kind, she offered to refund us and suggested we go on to the Fairgrounds nearby. We camped at Spring Lake Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Dry Camping only. Some bad, some good equals average. Good: well-spaced sites, a few pull throughs paved. Restrooms and showers kind of gross, costs a buck and a half. Good set up for families and kids. Quiet. Tranquil setting with lake and flat, two mile hike around. In town, for easy access but feels like in country. If you can tolerate dry camping and use on board facilities this is a good bet. We camped at Spring Lake Park in a Motorhome.
