Yes this is a sandy lot, but it is in the desert after all. We drove in and the manager came and met us and was helpful in pointing out some sites we could choose from. Our site had full hook up with 50A, good water pressure and no problems. It was 95F and it might get a little dusty if it is windy but if you don't like heat and sand, head for the coast. - KiwiRVer

This is just a sandy parking lot! Electric is schetchy, our 30 amp outlet didn't work properly and our electric kept cutting off and it reached over 95 degrees in our RV. We didn't even stay the night had to leave because of electric issues. We had a bad feeling about the place the minute we drove in. And they have County inmates as maintenance workers. - MimiNana

Campground was run down with a lot of permanent and sites were too close together. It was windy, so a lot of blowing dust. No WI fi but OTA television and Verizon Internet worked good. Ridgecrest was a nice clean town with a nice Walmart nearby. I picked up nails and screws in the site. - silverwing

Some negative reviews earlier but it is what it is. If you need to stay in this area with desert temperatures, you have reliable power and water hookups here. The cost reflects what you get. No amenities but very convenient for an overnight which is what we needed. We were glad there were no fire pits spreading thick smoke everywhere. And they are working on major upgrades to one end of the park: all new power, level asphalt pull-through sites, and nice new landscaping. Some traffic noise but it died down after dark. - Old Geezer

Staff not public friendly oriented.. sites too small and not clean. Pamphlet states your site is adequate for your RV and vehicle (1)! I had to park my pick up near the highway in an unsecured location where they're notorious for breaking out your windows... staff makes up stories to owner if they don't like you so that you won't be staying again but why would you!?I stayed last year for 3 wks and was excited to leave when I got the chance ! - User3779

We lost brakes coming out of Death Valley over Townes Pass. Ended up staying a week here. Basic gravel site with cement patio. Next to Hwy 178 so there is some highway noise although it didn't bother us. Bertrand RV & Mobile Home Park is located west of downtown Ridgecrest. The campground has 58 sites for recreational camping with 10 reserved for short-term, overnight stays. These short-term sites are on gravel and have full patios. All of the short-term spaces only accommodate back-in parking and measure 20 feet by 40 feet in size. Full water, electric and sewage connections are available at each spot as well as cable television connections. Wireless Internet but isn't reliable at the transient spots. The campground DOES NOT PROVIDE RESTROOMS, SHOWERS or on-site recreational activities. - SandyBBB

I stayed at this park in April, 2018. This is a run down dirt park with many old, broken down RVs that will probably never run again. No one was in the "office" when I arrived, but there was a sign on the door stating that "Passport America member - $25.00, and non members - $30.00". I picked out a site that wasn't too narrow for my rig (I have a slide) and parked - not level at all. Later, I talked to the man who apparently owns the park and told him that Passport America was supposed to be half price, not just $5 off. He got arrogant and obnoxious and told me I didn't have to stay there if I didn't want to. Of course, it's the only game in town. I would not stay there again. They also boast on the Passport America information that they have gas (there's a station about a mile away in "town") and they boasted about having golf - most likely in a neighboring town. - sloopygirl

We were charged for electricity that kept going out. Originally we were told by the park management that it was due to power outages wth the electric company. However come to find out it was due to a faulty electrical panel that is out dated and needs to be replaced. Residents at this park have complained about the power outages during 115°F heat and those with health issues, asking that the owner replace the panel, as lack of electricity is causing health concerns. The owner said he is not replacing the panel and if they do not like it they can leave.
Water pipes are antiquated. Need to be updated to code.
NOT A PLACE TO BE AT. - Khea
Apr 2015 - $15.00
We had stayed here before so we knew what to expect, which not much. Had to find the manager. Hand over $15.00 and go find a place you like. It is 1/2 way between Palm springs and Carson city so it is good for an overnight-er. Quiet, you can see 3 hwy s but you can't hear them. WiFi was available but I did'nt get a password so I used my Datajack. No cable but good over the air reception. - Ross Brand
