12 RV Parks near Shafter, California
Oct 2018 - $27.00
Gotta LOVE the price ! - That was based on the average for a week. An unusual configuration nose-to-tail parking initially looked pretty good but many many long-term set-up there where the campers were VERY close to touching. I was lucky enough to be assigned #25/27 but saw several m size with a neighbor just a whisker away. Great staff and very helpful changing from daily to weekly rate. Very much in an "industrial" neighborhood with highway noise a constant hum ( read HUM!) and railroad with frequent trains - not enough to wake up or keep you up but ever present. Felt like it was a re-make of the Lord of the Flies (not the fault of the park) but really a LOT of flies. - D Ward
Aug 2016 - $30.00
Had a lot of permanent residents but park was clean and employees were friendly. Pool was good sized and clean. Would stay here again and recommend it. Very nice shade trees. - Wilma Owens

Small park has a lot of live-ins.They are all friendly. We have stayed here many, many times. The office staff is GREAT, they have a nice sparkling pool, clean rest rooms. This is perfect for those of us who do not care about the fancy resorts with the inflated prices. - MrFast
Mar 2018 - $12.00
Beautiful setting on the Kern River. Sites are large and they are all pull through. Some water spigots but they are not threaded. We were there midweek and there were only a few campers but the campground host said it gets very busy on weekends. Nice hiking trail along the river. - Grovester
Mar 2014 - $22.00
Just a little update to our previous review. We stayed here again on our way back and now the rate is 22$. Rating is lower because the campground becomes crowded with day users on weekends and cleaning up seems to be nobody's priority. Also we had a peek inside the washrooms and they were really outdated. Not even a curtain for the shower stall. And due to the weekend crowds cleanliness was an issue too. However, it is still a very nice nice play to stay, but during the season we would recommend to avoid the weekends. - TheSchweitzers

If you are tired of noisy and expensive RV Parks right off the interstate, then take the few extra miles to find quietness and solitude here. It is dry camping, but all sites are paved as are the roads through the park. A picnic table and fire pit on your own backyard comes with each site. Very good privacy since the sites are well spaced. Most sites are shaded by trees. Very nice and relaxing setting. Really quiet at night. A concrete bike path runs from the park easy and flat around the nearby lake and continues all the way down to Bakersfield. Rate is the off season price. I think it's 50% more during the season. We will stay here again for a few nights whenever we come through the area. - TheSchweitzers
