There hasn't been a review here in a while for the TT Turtle Beach. We arrived here with low expectations after visiting another California TT that left us pretty disappointed. BUT we were impressed with the welcome we got from the front office that checked us in. Very informative, very pleasant. We chose a site (as it is the usual custom at a TT campground) in the section we were asked to be in. Our site was water and electric only. Electrical worked fine and water pressure was decent as well. Sites are spacious enough and we really enjoyed the quiet location (a few trains don't bother us). Wifi in the lounge worked great too! You are about 90 minutes away from San Francisco - quite a stretch, but a good home base nonetheless without the cramped campgrounds closer to SF. Gated entrance. Narrow and curvy road coming into the campground; don't despair, it is not a dead end street, you will see the TT sign at the last curb before entrance! - chantalcnrobw
Aug 2016 - $46.00
We stopped overnight, not using the amenities such as the lake.
Sites are first come first serve, we arrived late afternoon on a weekend and were stuck with a spot with no shade and lots of army ants, but at least we had a site with electrical.
Staff was not helpful when MapQuest left us stranded. - jkr

Enjoyed this park again, we have stayed here before and glad to see it kept up, to many parks seem to be going downhill these days. Congratulations to the management team.
Large spots plenty of shade good power and clean water! - Ray O

For Elks members only , very nice park eight pull through's possibly two more that exist but not sure, was told that if the area is full you can Boondock around the perimeter of the Elks Lodge parking as long as you're leaving early in the morning. I understand that as of January 1 2017 , rates are changing Modesto members $20 members at large $25 this is still a bargain since there is not too many options to park in or around Modesto. The access is simple off of Highway 99 very easy to get to definitely follow the instructions if heading east you will actually turn on Pentecost which dead ends into charity way which is kind of like a turnaround where the Elks Lodge is located . As far as the sites they are fairly level on a gravel dirt base which seem to drain real good they have a drywall out there for heavy winter rains but I'm thinking it could be a little dusty in the summertime not sure, winter time rain not a problem no mud exist. You are definitely in a rural area of North Modesto at this time not much out there so your experience is fairly quiet . The dump station is located as you are pulling out all on a asphalt area for a clean no mess experience, very nice, drainage and slope is excellent. The lodge is very nice updated has an excellent lounge and seems to be more in touch with the times then some of the other lodges we have visited. We will stop here again when in the area. - monaco cruiser

This is a great campground at the right time of year if your rig is small. Many sites along the Stanislaus River in riparian forest. Trailer size limit is 21 ft. and motorhome limit is 24 ft. Lots of mature trees to provide shade but the area gets very hot in the summer. Pads are asphalt. - oldmac
Nov 2017 - $45.00
This is not a RV Park for people on vacation. The people who stay here live here and they are not retirees. The bathrooms are probably 60 years old and have not been improved since. They were clean but you did not want to use them. The sites do not come with tables. I would suggest No one visit this place. - Cynthia2156
Nov 2018 - $24.00
Easy access from the interstate and professional check in. Paved interior roads, level and long pull-thrus with convenient hookups. Cable TV was limited, adequate OTA channels, and no obstructions to satellites. Sites are close together, no table or grass. Verizon cell and Wi-Fi was strong, park Wi-Fi spotty. Significant noise from trucks due to the huge terminal in back of the park. OK for an overnight at the PA rate; wouldn't stay here at the full rate. - Meanderman
Nov 2018 - $42.00
The park has excellent location with easy freeway on/off. It is also located within walking distance to some nice restaurants and gas stations. The downsides are poor rest rooms and the overall appearance of the park has been going down hill over the last two years. The park is still a great spot for an overnight when headed up or down the I-5. - TomW
Sep 2018 - $22.00
Stayed here many times over the years of our RV life. This stay has been different. The separation between gravel parking area and grass has blended together. The sprinklers have sprayed both sides of our RV and also our toad. The workers have stated that they know about the problem but management will not authorize the repairs. The park has become a haven for workers at the local distribution warehouses like Amazon. This is no longer a nice RV park but only a stop for a night park. Too bad..we really enjoyed the way it was better. - Well Traveled Traveler
Apr 2018 - $25.00
It's not a destination resort so don't expect a pool, showers and a laundry. The sites are well spaced and mostly level . The park is kind of hard to find, even though it is just outside the fairgrounds front gate. The trains go by on a regular basis during the day, but the noise seems to end about 9 pm or so, thus it never bothered us when we were sleeping. - ultrastar28
Mar 2018 - $25.00
What a previous reviewer said... right alongside train tracks. At least 6 rolled by tooting their horns almost constantly in the 18 hours we'be been here so far. Great cell reception though--there's a tower right here too. Grass and dirt field, muddy when wet. Location can be tricky to find. Go by the address. Not well signed. Keep your eyes open. Better yet, camp elsewhere. Office closed and no host present when we rolled in so we just took a site which is the way it works at this first-come-first-served location. Hookups are dual serving adjacent sites. Our electrical pedestal was old and in a state of disrepair. All hookups at the back of sites so long or extended sewer hoses are needed and the drains are in the ground which may be uphill from where your hose first touches down. 30 amp and 20 amp service. No 50 amp. All sites are back-in. Cash only. Wouldn't stay here again unless desperate. - RussOnTheRoad
Mar 2017 - $25.00
Note to self...ask how close the train tracks are! The tracks are literally feet from this "park". If you don't mind the train screaming by and actually creating a wind while going by then you'll be fine. I like to sleep at night. All the hook ups are straight back and if you don't have extra long hook up equipment you won't reach. In addition there are no signs (as usual) to locate the office to pay. The people working here were very nice. Even the dog couldn't sleep. Never ever again! - Candy pop
Jun 2007 - $21.00
Where to began? We pulled in this park dubious about all the trash, old trailers, and general skid row look to the place. We were shown our site on the water and decided to try to make the best of it. While hooking up we kept getting whiffs of a funky smell and assumed it was coming from the uncapped sewer hookup. After hooking sewer up and still getting a smell we called the camp host over to have a look/sniff. Well he ran some water down the line but afterwards told us the smell was most likely from when the wind blew the wrong way from the cesspool 100 yards farther down the road. Do I have to go on? We tried to ignore it and hoped it would be only momentary, but during the night we (my wife and I) were both woken by a horrible overwhelming methane odor. We hauled out the next morning after paying 1 week in advance. The camp host said "NO" to our refund request. We wouldn't camp even near here again. - Randx
Oct 2017 - $15.00
I had heard bad things about this campground because of noisy crowds and crowded conditions during the summer, however, the $15 senior rate, even for non-residents, and the fact it had full hookups for that rate caused me to give it a try for one night on my way to Yosemite. For positives, the sites were adequately spread out, and I was able to find an open site for satellite TV. Verizon signal was excellent for both voice and data. Sites and roads were paved and the place was only about 10% occupied on a weeknight. I was told that even weekends in fall and winter are not crowded because there is no swimming or water contact activities allowed on the lake during fall, winter, or spring. I came in without a reservation and basically had my pick of sites. For negatives, the power went out in the middle of the night, but it was a campground-wide event, not just my site. By the time I left at 9:00 am, the power company was already digging up and repairing the break. The biggest negative is that this place needs some grounds maintenance. There is nothing but dirt between sites--any grass or ground cover having been worn away by heavy usage. Leaves need to be raked, and trash raked and picked up. There were a lot of small things like bottle caps, smashed cans, and bits of paper and other things hiding underneath the leaves that blew around. You could tell the place had had a rough summer. However, I will still probably come back here occasionally when I am looking for a quiet place to rest for a few days. - judy_online
Sep 2016 - $15.00
This is the first time we stayed at Woodward since the "upgrades" to the RV sites. We camped on T-Island which is right on the lake. We have been camping here for 10+ years and this is the first time on the island as it didn't have full hookups before. Nice shady spots. We only camp during weekdays because of the chaos on the weekends.
Did not appreciate paying the service $8 for the privilige of making a reservation and did not appreciate the 4pm check in the hot part of the day. - JOE & DEE DEE
Jul 2016 - $15.00
RV here during the summer. We like to row. This year the reservoir is so low it's like the irrigation districts are draining it. This leaves the "beaches" slimmy and algae ridden :(. Nice park otherwise. - kdanzi
Jul 2018 - $48.00
This place is very convenient for us as we originally purchased our trailer in nearby Manteca That being said, we have watched this park go downhill over the past ten years they are no longer keeping the golf course up nor open. It has burned up with the drought Rumor has it they will be expanding the RV park as there is nothing better in the immediate area. We hope they do expand and improve . Our first site had a light pole at the start into the pad, bad idea and bad placement It was difficult to get our 40 foot around without hitting the post. The good news is, they have removed the gold painted rocks that used to be the challenge. Our second site was back in the more permanents section and worked out well. Folks were very friendly Most staying in the area to work in construction or as travel nurses Swimming pool is okay, wifi is two hotspots, one at office, one near pool and worked ok Our site had a broken sewer hookup - we notified two maintenance workers and the office of the issue and nothing was done about it. Here is to someone building a new, nicer park in the area and let this one go to the residentials. For the services and accommodations this park is definitely over priced. - FulltimerFun
Jun 2018 - $45.00
We visited this park after a long day on the road. Saw a Cal Trans sign that said "RV Park". We stayed twice, once on the way to Reno and again on the way home. The park had pull through sites with 50 amp service. There is a swimming pool but we did not use it. We were in a hurry and needed a place to rest over night. It was hot so I wanted to run the AC but not the generator. We were on an hurried trip so did not use the facilities besides the rest room. Lots of grass there. Easy access. Satellite dish worked fine. - Grover48
Jan 2018 - $35.00
We spent one night here. The value was just OK due to the lack of wifi in the park. They do have two hot spots but we prefer to stay in the fifth to do our web surfing. The cable TV was just OK; not stellar. The receptionist was very pleasant. - murphysranch
