We stayed in a pull through site close to the office. The site was a little snug for motorhome staying hooked to the car. Even though we stayed one night we unhooked the car to park it in better and off the road. They have s little food cart we hear is good. We might get a chance to try it. One thing I wish would be they place check in and out tons on their site. Check in is 2:00 however we arrived st 1:00 And able to check in since check out is 12:00 We had to call to find this out. Park is clean and staff very nice and friendly. My favorite part is the heated pool. Check in 2:00 Check out 12:00. We camped at Sac West RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Sac West is an old KOA which was repurposed along the way. Plenty of stuff still for kids, which is fine as far as it goes. We don't travel with children (not yet, but hey, one day the grandkids will be allowed to go with their crazy grandparents . . . we hope) but our dog Izzy is kind of like a kid. She enjoyed walking down to the creek's edge. Hard to call it a river, but there were ducks on there, so she was happy. Otherwise, the sites were just gravel, not terribly level, so we had to unhook the toad for one night (always nice when we don't have to do that), and the hook-ups were also old and somewhat rusty. It's situated right off the freeway and like I said, the river is, well . . . it's a creek or a slough or something kind of like a river, just don't call it a river, okay? And no, you cannot swim in it, either, due to pollution. I thought it was way overpriced for what we needed, but if we had kids and spent maybe an extra day there, we'd use the salt water pool (nicer than all that chlorine), or eat at the mini food truck on the premises. I think the value is in the extras, not in the park itself. So for us, not that much of a value. Also - pet peeve since I have a small dog (chihuahua/jack russell mix) - someone had a huge mastiff (thankfully on lead . . . often owners just don't feel the need!) walking about the park near us. I was surprised this breed was allowed in, as like most parks they say they don't let in aggressive breeds. Right. We camped at Sac West RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

We have stayed at this part twice, both times for just one night. We had difficulty this time with our hookups. It was a pull through site which was big enough, but it appeared that sites had been reorganized and the utilities left unchanged. Out sewer was on the opposite side from the electrical and water and was underneath our neighbor's picnic table. Luckily we didn't need to use it. Also lots of longer term residents and the usual stuff that accumulates around them. The site was level and big enough, just the problem with the utilities. We had a better site our previous visit. The park is convenient to I-5 and easy to get around in. Didn't use any of the facilities. Ok for one night, but would not stay longer. We camped at Sac West RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

37 ft Class A with toad. Not a lot of choices in Sacramento. Good location to see area. Near 8-80 and US 50 junction, most western exit in Sacramento. Located near freeway but not noisy. Good park, friendly people and staff. Nice pool, food truck, see other reviews. Not a lot of landscaping. Large dog run area and tent camping space. Site was not overwide, but pull thru was long enough for RV and toad. Not too many 50 Amp service, was on a 30 Amp during hot August, voltage dropped to 105 from branch loads when park was full. Not a lot of shade trees, gravel site in good condition interior roads good. Would stay here again. We camped at Sac West RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Decent park and well located to do the area. Sites are narrow but acceptable. Pads are gravel and power is good. Busy park with large play area, food wagon and tent area. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The previous campers in our site were a bit sloppy, leaving bottle caps and other small debris which we cleaned up as we noticed. This is a former KOA. We camped at Sac West RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a former KOA and a very old park. There has been little or no improvements made to the spots. They are gravel with no grass. The tree limbs are low and we hit the side and roof of our Motorhome. They are so close to the next spot that you can not put out an awning without hitting a tree limb. There are several permanent residents. They really need to update the water and power hook-ups too. It is a good short stay location. Lots of cabins and tent area with lots of things for kids to do. We camped at Sac West RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

This RV park is very convenient from I-80. The owners are wonderful and dedicated people. The property was clean and, although we do not travel with children, they had loads of activities for them, including an ice cream socials ... which even us "big kids" took advantage of! They also keep a small group of hens from which we were given fresh eggs which we used for a breakfast. The site was a bit tight but it really wasn't an issue for us. We'd stay here again anytime! Overall could be a nice park but their electric hookups don't have enough voltage. We had to run our generator to have ac in 100 degree heat while paying for full service at the park. Our neighbors in the park having same problems. On the plus side they allowed us to leave early with a refund.
Good Sam should lower their ratings. We

Reviews from April & June 2015 are accurate. Sites too skinny, low hanging branches need trimming. Old KOA park, our site had water/power hookups on the passenger side; had to run hose & cord under bus & unsightly/inconvenient being on our "front yard" area, along with hose/cord/sewer hose from neighbor. Site was thrashed when we pulled in, dog food & trash scattered all over. Price is the daily rate, weekly is charged 6 full days, no discount, & 7th nite "free". $49 per nite is terribly overpriced for this dump, especially since it is only 30A service. Residents need to clean up their sites. Will not return here again. We camped at Sac West RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

The grounds are kept very clean. There are a lot of full timers. We were put right next to them. That had a truck that was constantly coming and going and the fuel smell was awful. The swimming pool was full of kids that knew each other. We felt out of place. They were helpful in the office for directions. I would have been happier next to people that were traveling. They are close to Old Sacramento which makes it nice. We camped at Sac West RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

This used to be a KOA campground but has left the system. Very narrow sites. My awning on my motor home when I put it out was six inches from the motor home next to me. Young people driving cars with very loud exhaust at all hours of the night and speeding through the campground. I reported it to the office staff and they told me that kids would be kids. Very overpriced for what it is. Price should be about half of what it is. A lot of the long term campers had a lot of junk around their site which made the campground look bad. WI-FI was terrible, even when sitting under the tower. The staff for the most part was very friendly. I don't think that I would stay there again except for in an emergency. Nice enough place with good amenities. Sites are level gravel full hookup w/50amp. The problem is access. The roads are narrow with tight turns and the sites are way to close together. Your front door is on the sewer of the next site. Only there for one night. Okay if going thru. We camped at Sac West RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.
