We stumbled on this one on our way Southbound down the Pac Coast Highway, from Rockport. We did a drive through, and fell in love with a spot ridiculously close to a fabulous sandy ocean beach. Even at this OFF time, and a Monday night, the other choice spots were mostly reserved. We spent the day on the beach, and had it to ourselves about half the time. It's a huge, level, sandy beach,......and then we watched the sunset from our spot. It's pretty amazing to be so close to gorgeous beach , and to have the power that my wife insists on for these cooler Fall evenings. Verizon signal spotty, but workable from our spot, and I was able to make a call from the beach. The WIFI is surprisingly GREAT, but remember........the park is probably at 10% occupancy. Dirt roads into and in the park a bit sketchy, but heh,......you're on the ocean. Sites pretty lumpy and undeveloped,......near level.........you're going to spend all your time at the beach anyway! We camped at Westport Beach RV Park and Campground (formerly Westport Beach / N Men in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Lovely campsites with a short, easy walk to a beautiful beach. We could see the ocean from our site. Lots of dogs and kids in the park. Steep, narrow entrance into the park. The RV sites are gravel but with some dirt and growth, and since it rained during our stay, our site was a little muddy. Very nice park staff. We camped at Westport Beach RV Park and Campground (formerly Westport Beach / N Men in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The whale festival was going on in nearby Fort Bragg and we were lucky enough to see a couple dozen whales from shore as they migrated north. If you have a tow vehicle, drive 10 miles north on Highway 1 to the Redwood Grove & Picnic Area. It's a misty little grove just off the highway where you can explore beautiful trails among old growth redwood trees along historic Cottoneva Creek. You'll likely have the grove all to yourself.

Looks like a free for all campground, kids, dogs, people, cars, trucks, rv's everywhere. Sites are "marked" but it appears it doesn't matter. We had a back in site that was supposedly 40' and our 32' motorhome barely fit. Entrance on a curve and road to camp area is steep. We camped at Westport Beach RV Park and Campground (formerly Westport Beach / N Men in a Motorhome.

Well, If you like access to a beach this is for you. Everything else is substandard. They have some nice sites but, they were empty the 7 days I was here. The sites are small: some that appear you should back into, you pull forward into and need a long sewer hose to hook up. Bring your dog shoes, they have bad stickers. Sites are very, very close. Below Highway 1 traffic not bad, but a few logging truck go by using their jake brakes. WIFI OK. We camped at Westport Beach RV Park and Campground (formerly Westport Beach / N Men in a Motorhome.

Stayed 3 nights in our 30' coach over a weekend in August. The camp was packed with cars and rigs everywhere. We had a pull-thru site that was very narrow, so much so that when the trailer next to us put out their awning it was 30" from our door, and we couldn't use the fire pit for fear we'd burn down the motorhome. There were LOTS of children and LOTS of dogs, so it was pretty noisy most of the time. Nice beach though, and that was the campsite's saving grace. We camped at Westport Beach RV Park and Campground (formerly Westport Beach / N Men in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Best to shop before you arrive, but there are a few necessary items in the store if you need them.

Ask for a space close to the ocean.

We also stayed at the sister park, Casper. It seems a little tacky to add a pay shower for such high prices to camp for the night but that's the price to pay for facilities along the coast. Great locations for both places. Camp host was responsive when we noticed a camper not picking up after his dog.

We don't have a tow vehicle. We camped at Westport Beach RV Park and Campground (formerly Westport Beach / N Men in a Motorhome.

Nice campground next to the beach, which is just over a small sand dune. If you want to walk on the beach and hear the ocean then this is a good place to be. Sites were close together, and as others said the hookups are in an odd spot and the sewer hookup is not attached firmly so it could come off. Pay showers were old but clean. For the location it is a 10 but overall about a 7. We would stay here again. We camped at Westport Beach RV Park and Campground (formerly Westport Beach / N Men in a Motorhome.

Westport beach RV park is one of the NICEST parks we have ever stayed in during the two yrs we have been on the road. This treasure gem of a RV park is hidden in a valley ..so private and so quiet you feel like you have been transported to a magical place. From making the first phone call for reservations to helping us get settled in the office staff was amazing . The ocean views, your right on the beach , the privacy , and listening to the seals at night we will return to this beautiful treasure of an RV park on the beach . Once settled in this park you won't want to go anywhere. The beach at low tide is all the entertainment you will need during the day and sitting by your own fire ring at night listening to the ocean you will think you are in paradise .

This park is no longer a KOA. It is on the beach but that's about it. The place is a mess. When we were taken to our site, I asked the person if she was serious. Unfortunately she was. The sites are sloppy and not very defined. Trees that should be trimmed, are not. Rocks that should be moved, are not. It took me several attempts to back in. It was entertaining to watch others attempt to get into their sites. Mostly Californians in fifth wheelers. (Not that there is anything wrong with that.) The hook ups are in the wrong spots, we had to run our stuff under the coach and uphill, not good. All this for $60 a night. We will not return. At check in the clerk was more interested in reading her Cosmo than answering questions. Said she would be there until 6 pm. Went back at 5:15 pm to find out why no WiFi. No clerk and office was locked up. No heat in showers and bathrooms not cleaned. Not up to our past KOA experiences. Great location, but not worth the money. Would not come back. Met some folks at our next stop who also had identical experience on the same day. We camped at Westport Beach RV Park and Campground (formerly Westport Beach / N Men in a Motorhome.

We called ahead for reservations, and the people on the phone were very nice and friendly - however, when we arrived late night, our reservation info packet had not been put out with the others. The roads in and out of this place are narrow and windy - a very slow and tedious drive. First impression driving in was that of a refugee camp. There were junky-looking tents and beat-up trailers sprawled around numerous, smoky campfires with lots of loud people, kids, and dogs wandering about at nearly midnight. The site set-up is strange with a pull-in/back-in arrangement. Our sewer hose would not reach as the connection is at the very back of the pedestal island. The Wi-Fi was virtually non-existent. Dogs were supposed to be on leash at all times, but there were several unruly canines off-leash on the beach making it very unpleasant for those around. There appeared to be no enforcement of rules about noise, trash, or animals. All in all this park was too rowdy and hillbilly for our tastes. We camped at Westport Beach RV Park and Campground (formerly Westport Beach / N Men in a Motorhome.

This is a decent KOA but pricey. For the price I would have liked to have had some sort of patio at my site. Some of the past reviews were pretty bad, but we did not see any of that. The staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed in a premium site which had a beach view, but the site was rather on the small side partly due to a poorly placed tree. Many of the utility hook ups appear to be new, but the sewer hook ups are a little too high. Getting the water to flow in the right direction may be a bit of a challenge. That and the water pressure is pretty low, around 25 pounds. My biggest complaint is the campground roads are in dire need of more gravel. They are mostly dirt and a little water turns them into a muddy mess. It is a short walk to the ocean from your camp site which is the main attraction for this camp ground. Any serious shopping needs will mean a drive back to Fort Bragg and that is 15 miles of twisty roads. I would stay here again, but bring what you need with you. We camped at Westport Beach RV Park and Campground (formerly Westport Beach / N Men in a Motorhome.

We just loved it. We had a site with the sand at our RV door. The view was absolutely beautiful. We took a walk around the entire campground and enjoyed the lovely creek and flowers and trees. The campground was clean and well kept with friendly staff. The sunsets are to die for. We had a great time walking the beach and just relaxing. If you get the chance you should visit this campground. We will definitely be visiting again soon. We camped at Westport Beach RV Park and Campground (formerly Westport Beach / N Men in a Motorhome.
