We were looking for a campground within Yosemite Valley that would be convenient to hiking and amenities in the valley. We are self contained and don't use the facilities. We stayed on weeknights in late September in our 25 foot MH. There are 3 CGs in the Valley - Upper, Lower and North Pines. They are near each other and from a quick walk through, appear to be quite similar. We stayed at North Pines. This CG is nice and perfectly situated within Yosemite Valley. The sites vary significantly in size and shape. The pads are paved. When making a reservation, check the pad size. Some sites are level and others need leveling. Although they do not provide privacy between sites, the tall pines are beautiful and provide shade much of the day. There is no wifi. There is good Verizon and usable ATT coverage. We camped at North Pines Campground (NPS Campgroiund) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The shuttle bus stops near the entrance to the park and serves the entire Yosemite Valley. There are paths from the CG to the Valley Floor Trail and the multiuse path that connects the valley attractions. Reservations are needed in advance to dinner at the Ahwahnee/Majestic hotel, and not needed for lunch or breakfast.

Wow, how do you separate your opinion of the park from the campsite. Personally I don't think it is possible. What a fantastic place and a wonderful camping experience. Sure the sites are kind of close and the roadways narrow, but when you can walk a couple of feet and see half-dome or Yosemite falls. The site itself is acceptable and held our 37 ft. trailer, but be aware that there are only 6 sites that will hold a fairly large rig. We managed to get 8 nights and would love to go back. We camped at North Pines Campground (NPS Campgroiund) in a Travel Trailer.

Hike! Get out and enjoy this park. We love photography and found Michael Frye's app to be wonderful. Dogwoods, rainbows, waterfalls, and reflections the possibilities for a photo are endless.

There are no hook-up sites at this campground. It is a NPS campground with spacious sites with plenty of forest shade. It is sandwiched between the Merced River and Tenaya Creek. There are bear-proof food storage containers, fire ring and table at each site. Beautiful location in Yosemite Valley. Cell service is spotty at best, but there are pay phones at the campground. We camped at North Pines Campground (NPS Campgroiund) in a Motorhome.

It was Yosemite so that starts off everything real good. Campgrounds were clean and trash dumped daily. Park has bears around so that is very important for all. Roads are not very wide and can be a bit challenging to navigate through. Although North Pines has Trailer sites up to 35ft, I would not recommend one more the 26. Very tight. Staff was very helpful and informative. Some sites seem very close together but you never feel crowded. Overall very nice. We camped at North Pines Campground (NPS Campgroiund) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a ton of things to do there, so just ask the Ranger. Just hiking and looking at the beauty is a great start.

One thing to keep in mind the place is not pet friendly at all, Your pooch has very limited access to anything. Something I wish I knew before hand. It is best to leave little fido at home, you will get much more out of your trip.

We were in site 131. Our 34' RV fit snugly. We could park our car beside. Roads are narrow but negotiable. Our site had a picnic table, fire pit and bear box. We were the first row and near the stables, so at times could smell it. Convenient walk to the shuttle which we used 90% of the time. Generator time is limited to 7-9AM, 11AM- 1PM and 5-7PM. We were frequently out on hikes during generator hours and had to plan accordingly. Since sites are offered 4 months in advance and are gone quickly we felt fortunate to have the opportunity to camp in this beautiful park. We camped at North Pines Campground (NPS Campgroiund) in a Motorhome.

We were fortunate to get a site for our 30' fifth wheel in Yosemite Valley, there are very few sites that can accommodate us. North Pines is smaller and a little more private than the other two valley campgrounds and is very conveniently located to bike paths, mirror lake and happy isles. There are a few sites along the river, which are very nice. Wi-Fi is available at Camp Curry guest lounge. We camped at North Pines Campground (NPS Campgroiund) in a Fifth Wheel.

We liked camping here and enjoyed all the sights. You can ride shuttle buses everywhere. We were in the first row (100s) which is right next to the stables, with a corresponding odor. Don't book in the 200s unless you have a very small rig and can make the hairpin turn. The new generator hours are 7-9 AM, 12-2 PM, 5-7 PM. It was the first week in June but the temp hit 95 on the day we left. Next time we'll try May. Bring mosquito repellent. We camped at North Pines Campground (NPS Campgroiund) in a Travel Trailer.

This was a very nice campground in Yosemite park. All of the sites have a picnic bench, fire ring and a large bear box. It is close to everything and the park shuttle stops nearby. Spotty cell phone service within the campground, but nearby Camp Curry has a lounge available for all guests with both wireless internet and cell phone service. We would stay here again. We camped at North Pines Campground (NPS Campgroiund) in a Motorhome.

What an amazing experience! The drive there is a little harrowing with all the curves and narrow roads, but if you take your time it's all good. Lots of rental units (RV's) here too. Dump station and fresh potable water is available at Upper Pines (right around the corner) so you don't need to pack in/out all your "fluids". Everyone was respectful of quiet times, and they ask you to not run your generator for more than 45 minutes at a time (they don't want people just continually running their generators all day long). Some sites are very tight with trees, and some are short, so make sure you have a site that will fit your rig. Also, half of the campground was flooded due to high snow pack. This was not so much of a challenge as there are lot's of people who don't show for their reservations so even though the park was sold out, there were lot's of spaces (people moved spots too). Rangers and camp hosts are great, too! Bring your bike as things are spaced pretty far apart. Bears, deer, etc. in the camp sites, and waking up to look at half dome and Yosemite Falls around the corner can't be beat! We camped at North Pines Campground (NPS Campgroiund) in a Motorhome.

This is the only way to stay in the park. If you try one of the campground outside the park with hookups, you are looking at an hour drive each way. No fun. We camped at North Pines Campground (NPS Campgroiund) in a Travel Trailer.

This is a beautiful campground with many trees, some waterfront sites, and views of the giant granite cliffs that are Yosemite. There is much wildlife (including a bear in the campground both nights we were there). Free shuttle to other points in Yosemite is available at the campground entrance. From an RV point of view, you need to be aware that: there are no hook-ups, no dump station (though there is one in Yosemite at another campground) and the roads through this park are extremely tight. We had to maneuver through two trees that were barely far enough apart for the motorhome to fit. We camped at North Pines Campground (NPS Campgroiund) in a Motorhome.
