Oct 2018 - $42.00
This park is located on I-70 about 10 miles west of downtown Denver. It has gravel driveways and site pads, well covered with gravel meaning no dust. We had a pull through site with full hook ups, 50amp electric. The WiFi was excellent. The bathroom/shower were good and kept clean. It's kind of an odd arrangement in that you get a key to one of the 7 or 8 restroom/shower combinations. At any rate, nothing super special here but a good solid experience. We paid $41.80 per night. - Coopsecondact
Sep 2018 - $42.00
This park is basically a gravel parking lot with no extra frills, but it worked well for us. Our space was pull thru, fairly easy to get in and out, and nice gravel. We had full hook ups but we had to run the electric cord and the water hose under the rig to the hook ups on the opposite side. The sewer was on the correct side. They had free WIFI but it seldom worked. The women in the office was very nice. We used the public transportation to go into Denver and the bus stop was very close (maybe a block). There was a lake next door with walking paths. - JackieD
Sep 2018 - $40.00
We were going to stay three nights, but left after two. The office was closed Sunday and Monday so couldn't get number for the laundry room, and I had laundry to do.They had a paper with our site number on it and that's it. No number for the laundry, restroom or shower. The sites are roomy, and the roads are wide. People raced thru here not paying attention to the speed limit. Dogs barked all the time. - Sheila Rosson

Would not recommend. Nothing more than a parking lot. They turn off the water when it gets cold. They have picnic tables that they place on a hill. Water is every other site. No sewer. No trees. One shower facility. No other amenities. I have been to a number of fairgrounds and like this one the least. Their WiFi requires that you re-login frequently and blocked many sites (Netflix is a good example). Understandable with a large campground, but this one is very small. The wind comes off the mountain with no break. They have no trees or other shade. Don't show up at night unless you have support for backing in. It is pretty dim. - PeteAustin
Jul 2018 - $30.00
Location, location. Finding a spot in the Denver area is very hard. This park is near I70 and U.S. 6. Easy to get to most attractions. Tight spaces and a lot of turnover. Very nice picnic area and playground. Odd requirements to register. You must show proof of ins. and regist. for all vehicles. There are gravel pull throughs long enough for most rvs and nearby tow vehicle parking. A downside is little physical security. Park is open at night with no gate. Sheriff patrols occasionally. We had no problems but would have preferred more controls. Limited 50A sites. We would stay here again. - captaincakes
Jun 2018 - $30.00
Fairly quiet location. Sites are close together so if you have a bunch of slides on both sides and use your awning you aren't going to be happy. Level gravel site. - mrracechaser

The spaces in this park are very narrow & no space to park tow. My slide was almost touching my neighbor. Couldn't open awning because of closeness. Roads are very narrow & poorly maintained. Many old RV's with people living in them. Have 33 ft. rig & had difficulty getting in spot because of cars parked part way in road. Broke passenger mirror because of this issue. In addition, I did not feel safe here. I am a Thousand Trails platinum limited member & will contact them about my concerns, misleading pictures, & representation of this park. - vickie438
Jul 2015 - $35.00
Nothing fancy here, cramped sites, some paved, some gravel. A good sized laundry room that isn't cleaned very often. Nice neighbors, mostly long term residents. No trees, and the grassy areas are marked to keep dogs off. There is a dog walk area. One of several not very destination-like RV parks in the Denver area. The staff is nice. - WanderingWraith
Sep 2014 - $34.00
This was a place to park for a couple of nights. It did have full hookups, but other than that, I can't say much for this place. The sites are so closely jammed together that there isn't room to put your awning out. Dog walk is quite a hike from most RV spaces, and is just a gravel area. Signs at every grassy area warning you to keep your dogs off the grass. I saw a WiFi antenna on top of the laundry building, but could not access the WiFi without signing up and paying, which I don't do. I would not stay here again. - gfs1943

Our site had quite an angle to it. We needed to use blocks to level the trailer side to side. The park is relatively quiet and has a connecting trail to local open space for nice walks with great views of Denver. Staff were friendly and helpful. The park was clean. WiFi was satisfactory and Verizon worked. TV reception was poor. It seemed rather expensive for what we had. - Dreaming
Oct 2018 - $65.00
Overpriced for the amenities in the park. We arrived at 11:45 and were assessed a 25 dollar fee for early arrival. Moving out and sitting at a large parking lot was not easy to accomplish, so they had us stuck. Couldn't leave as they collect a 50 percent non refundable deposit. This park has a world class set of rules and owners that are very clear to the staff that they are not to be bent or broken. Staff seemed to understand that this park has not been subject to good review, but their "hands were tied". We had an escort to our site who disappeared before I started pulling in to the site. Sites are small, leaving little or no room to park our toad, we have a 36 foot motor home, I can't imagine what a larger rig would do. Needless to say, this visit will be our last at this park. I hope that the owners of this park don't buy any others. - Uncle Joseph
Oct 2018 - $54.00
We stayed here because I was booking at the last minute and the local parks were full. We paid the peak season rate even though the pool and hot tub were closed. There's a lot of traffice noise from several highways surrounding it. The shower was one of the best I've had with individual rooms, good pressure and temperature regulation. Our site was level but difficult to wiggle our 25' View into. A nice park but a bit pricey. There's a path up to a big grassy area to run dogs. - Thedogsma

Jan 2019 - $43.00
We were here when there was a lot of snow. The park was full but they said they had room for our 37 foot motorhome. They put us up against the fence. Luckily there was no slot next to us as we had to go in diagonally in order to fit in the space and reach the water. The park is very tight! And not many spaces, especially the back in spots, are really good for a bigger rig. We were also crossing snow piles since we could not go back into the space directly. As for the park, the location is perfect and has a popular trail right next to it. It is very picturesque especially with the snow and mountains on a clear day. The trail was nice, though also meant it was very busy with residents talking and using the trail, early and late. We would like to go back to explore Golden again as it is a cute town with lots of character and good spots to shop/eat. - PicturingRVLife
Sep 2018 - $55.00
This is one of the most difficult city parks we have been to. Difficult because it is tough getting a site here as it is always full. The location is great, right outside of Old Town Golden, and the Old Town area is fantastic. Lots of shops and eateries to choose from, and even the Coors Brewery and bottling plant is nearby (Yep, we did the tour). The RV park has a variety of sites sizes, but not a lot of larger ones. We were in site "D" which was just big enough for our 40' Bus. There is a river that runs right behind the park with a paved exercise path that we used daily. On the other side of the river is the Colorado School of Mines, and many of the students use the path for exercise or training by the cross country running teams. In spite of all the pedestrian traffic we were never disturbed even though our site backed right up to the path. We paid $55 a night for a FHU 50 amp site that had a gravel parking pad but a cement patio. Close attention is required when pulling into a site due to the large trees and over hanging branches. We saw a lot of folks pull into the campground only to pull right out again because they had no reservations. Our T-Mobile air card worked well here, and we were able to get satellite despite the tall trees. The restrooms are older but clean, and are handicapped accessible. One thing being a city park, the full size trash truck comes into the park and empties the dumpster every day. I guess there is no danger of over flow that way. At an elevation of over 5600' Golden gets warm days and cool crisp nights, at least in September. I think by December things may be a bit more chilly. This is a highly recommended city park, just don't forget your reservation. - SargeW
Sep 2018 - $55.00
This park was weird. Picturesque location in a city park, but for a public park, the sites were tight. We had enough room to get into our site and move around, but nothing extra. Sites were relatively level. The hookups were weird. The water hookup was at the very front of the site, and down in a hole in the ground, and I wasn't able to get my blue filter hooked to it. I'm from the area and knew that the water was good, so I was okay skipping the filter, but it was still odd. There were two sewer hookups on the site, one at the very front and one in the very back. Electric was in the very back. Also, there was a power cord plugged into the 20 amp outlet. It ran through the ground and into the hole the water hookup was in, where it was apparently supposed to be plugged into something else. Both ends of the electric core were in there. There was a massive rainstorm the night we were there. In the morning, the hole was full of water and both power cord ends were submerged in the water. I was grateful for GFCI outlets. We never figured out we're the cord went. This is a city park, and there's a popular trail going right by the creek side sites, so not a lot of privacy. But there's also a nice park next door and a community center with a pool. Check in was strange. The office closes at 4 pm. We had reservations, so at 3:45, the woman from the office called us, asked us when we were going to arrive (4:15), and gave us the codes for the restrooms and showers. When we arrived, there was a traffic cone and a reserved sign blocking our site. If you're going to arrive after 4 pm, I would recommend calling and getting the door codes. - AnnP

Nice sites in a wilderness area in the middle of a city. The sites were nowhere near level and the water seemed to have oil in it. A good price for well spaced sites. - Thedogsma
Sep 2018 - $25.00
Convenient location close to Red Rocks amphitheater. No water or sewer hookups at sites. No wifi or cable TV, but AT&T cell reception was OK. Back-in site was large enough for our 40 ft fifth wheel, and did not have to unhitch. No trees for shade, but had a picnic table and a fire pit. Reasonable rates for what you get. - Wayne60
Aug 2018 - $20.00
A couple of things to note right off before you make a reservation here: 1) The sites are electric only. I think most, if not all, are 50 amp. 2) There are water spouts nearby, but you'll need a long hose if you want to fill from them. There is a water fill station on the opposite side of the campground from the entrance. 3) There are two dump stations that are easy to get into and out of, but seem to be busy often. The place is like an oasis in the middle of the city. The campground is nestled down between knolls, so you don't know you are in the city, unless you look really hard to the south to see a shopping center. It is barely visible as you can see the rooftops at night when their lights are on. The bike trails are fun to ride. It can be busy in the afternoon and weekends at the nearby lake, which has a nice sandy beach. - JazerNorth

Aug 2006 - $31.00
I cannot believe this place. We reserved it because it is billed as the only RV Park in the city of Denver. We wanted to be close to downtown, so visit the mint, and museums. Although the park itself is reasonably clean, the neighborhood is horrible. I felt like I was staying in an inner city ghetto. Its on a major street, sirens constantly all night, and hookers walking the park! They actually knocked on our door and offered, well, you can figure that out! We didn't have a car, and when we walked a few blocks to a liquor store, we were approached by someone offering to sell us marijuana, and by a beggar. We had breakfast one morning at a nearby restaurant, where we met a local cop. From her, I learned that the owner of the RV Park also owns the run down, seedy motels and trailer houses surrounding it, and is uncooperative with law enforcement. Her comment was, "Why in the world is someone like you, staying at that dump?" Absolutely avoid this place at all costs. - Mallory

Good news: Close to Hyland Hill's Waterworld. Bad news: More squatters than RV'ers. Make sure you lock everything as it sounded like the police were busy enough in this area. - dpthdiver

A big disappointment given the lovely pictures on their website. The neighborhood is crime central. I witnessed the coke machine being stolen in the middle of the night. I will not return. - BobbieM

Jun 2018 - $16.00
We stayed in the electric/water only portion of the campground. The electric was 30 amp. Spaces are small with just enough room to let the slides out. It was hot in Denver while we were there and the power just could not keep up with the demand. Our air conditioner would barely work. There also is no dump on site. There is also a FHU area with 30 amp power. There are no reservations and these sites are hard to get. Wifi is not available on the sites; only in the clubhouse. The clubhouse is nice and spacious, food OK, drinks good. Not sure I would I would stay there again without a sewer hookup. - Phaeton Joe
Sep 2017 - $18.00
Called ahead and was told by the RV park host that there was one full-hook site available. When we arrived site #14 was empty so we took that. Very tight space with a 90-degree back-in. Ok for a motorhome but a large 5th wheel may have issues. Good 30 amp electric with very high water pressure. Make sure you use a restrictor. We went to the bar to pay for our site. Very friendly lodge. Dinner was a huge smothered burrito which was delicious. We will be back. - StarlifterFE
Oct 2014 - $18.00
This park is strickly for Elks Club members and their guests only. A very nice park with 40 sites. 50 amps FHU $20, 30 amp FHU $18. Water and electric only $16. They say they have a dump station. The lounge is very nice and they have lunches and dinners. We would definitely stay here again if ever in the area. - kathiecarlson

The roads are winding and they're not clearly marked, so it is difficult finding out where to go.
We were woken by police officers shaking our tent at 4 AM, as was everyone else at the campground. It was horrifying.
It is always very full, and there are tons of loud children and infants. - Hayley W
Jul 2015 - $13.00
We are full timers and spent late May through August in this park. This is the only park I know of in Denver area that is NO reservations - which is great. You can almost always get in during week days, and often on weekends, just by showing up around the noon check out time. First come, first serve. The 2 catches are that you must be out one day after 14 days, and you can't occupy the park on holiday weekends - 4th of July, Memorial Day, etc. They are reserved for boaters with passes. You can buy an annual $16 senior pass, which eliminates the $7 a day entrance fee. We paid $12 a day, plus the one time $16. Wonderful, spacious sites by the lake, and some not so spacious further back. - charlyhors
Jul 2015 - $19.00
We stayed here about 4 years ago, and the quality has stayed about the same, the sites are spacious, and its a good value for the $$. The fishing is ok and they have one dock near the boat ramp you can also fish from. The rangers are very helpful in seeing you are sucessful in catching something. I wish they had at least a dump station on site. - Fitzjohnfan

This being the first "RV" Park in the US of A it is not a resort. It is what it says, a camp ground. That being said we love coming here. It is shady, cool, quiet, and laid back. A short walk up the trail and it is an awesome view with great sunsets! There was just enough room for out 37' RV and our towed. The site was undeveloped enough that the computer wouldn't let us try to level until we drove on some blocks....... then all was well....... but it was a long step to the ground. We will be back again! - k-n-r
Jul 2018 - $33.00
This park is listed as "Big Rig access" which we found is NOT TRUE if you are over 32' long. We had trouble making a turn to get out and rubbed a tree after sliding on loose gravel. Park is heavily wooded with sufficient space between sites, both nice features, but we only saw 2 or 3 truly level sites. The remainder were badly sloped requiring blocks or planks. Our front tires were on 4 layers of blocks and barely touching once we put our jacks down and we still were not level. Some loose gravel and a lot of dusty dirt until it rained, then everything was dirty. The lady in the office was nice to deal with and very helpful. The gentleman there not so much. First time in 7 years of RVing we had to pay ($23) to dump in addition to the nightly fee. Showers are coin operated. Will never return. - GrandpaDan
Jul 2017 - $32.00
Staff rude and uncaring. Reservations here mean nothing, as they will give the site you reserve to someone else, and you get what they want you to have. Utilities in a state of disrepair and there is no sewer. Additionally, they charge $23 for you to dump your tanks. Grass was 2-3 feet tall. Trash and dog poop everywhere. Crowded and noisy. Low hanging trees. This place is awful and should be avoided at all cost!!!! - Creagin
