If I were to rate this place only on the common areas, it would absolutely be a ten. The front part of the park is beautifully landscaped, with flowers blooming everywhere - I can't even imagine how they keep all those flowers blooming. There are some beautiful big grassy areas with a little brook running through at various places, and some lovely walking areas where you can hear the brook running. However, you drive by this area to the back into the overnight camping area, and, while there are nice trees and some grass back there, the parking spots aren't so great. For one thing, they are much too close. There was so little space between the rigs that my picnic table was practically sitting on top of my neighbor's sewer and utility area. If I had put my awning out, it would have encompassed my neighbor's utility pedestal and sewer connection. Also, the site was highly unlevel side to side and the water pressure was very low. The water connections are set down into a small box in the ground, so you might have to disassemble pressure regulators/filters, etc. to fit in there. There was a decent lineup of cable channels, but the picture quality was so poor many of the channels were unwatchable. I did get a few local channels over the air, and they were very clear. Wifi was typical - worked OK during non peak hours, not so good during peak hours. Verizon was strong. Customer service was satisfactory. While the front part of the park was beautiful, I didn't care for the site at all and would not return. But someone willing to sacrifice having a nice parking spot for all of the beautiful common areas might enjoy it, especially if they like to fish. Also, there were some really nice sites here and there in the park, which looked to be occupied by seasonal residents, so it would be a great place for a long term stay if you can get one of those. We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park is a very nice park close to Durango. It makes a great base camp to go to all the attractions in southwest Colorado. On the Pine river there is great fishing right on site in the park. Fishing on their property you don't need a fishing licences. Although the sites are gravel they are very neat. When we were there they were very busy. Just shows how a great of a place it is, it has many return customers, add us to that list. We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very pretty park. Stream running through has been diverted and landscaped to form some small ponds for fishing. Bridges to walk over. Lots of flowers and green grass. RV sites are gravel. Excellent maintenance with sites raked and edges of stream raked to remove cottonwood blooms. Some sites are pretty close together. Several seasonals. Good hookups. Cable not very clear. WiFi 2 bars from our site. We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bayfield Riverview is a very beautiful campground in southwestern Colorado. The campground is beautifully landscaped with many flowers, trees, fishing ponds and streams, and many large areas with lots of green grass. This is the first time in many weeks our dog got to run free and roll around on nice grass. Staff and the owner are very friendly and attentive. Bathrooms and showers were large, clean and well maintained. Showers were spacious. Even Wifi was great. This is a great place to stay near Durango. Very relaxing in beautiful surroundings. This park shows the pride of ownership with cleanliness, and landscaping which includes colorful flowers and running streams with ponds. Wifi was excellent and cable TV was decent. Staff friendly and helpful. Behind our site was a path with a bridge over the stream and there was an alpaca tied up there which liked to be fed fruit. The road noise was acceptable and did not interfere with sleeping as traffic dropped significantly at night. We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Brenda's restaurant just east of the park has dinner specials some nights of the week, and there is a burger place next to it that made a good milkshake. If interested in 2 &/or 4-wheeling there are opportunities in the area. Chimney Rock is east on the way to Pagosa Springs. Westerly is Durango for shopping and bicycling along the Animas River.

This is a beautifully maintained park. Spaces are tight, but we were right on a lovely stream. Across the stream was a large park like grassy field. WiFi was acceptable. Verizon had two bars. Check in was smooth and we were guided to our spot and had help backing in. Catch and release fishing with barbless hooks is allowed. We had a lovely stay and hope to be back. You are about 16 miles from Durango and 50 miles from Pagosa Springs. There is a WalMart that is reasonably close, but otherwise probably good to stock up on groceries before you get there. Only complaint was tight spots in our area. We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This park has a lot to offer. Spacious and laid out around a stream and fishing spots. This park is popular with families and groups wanting to spend time together outdoors. Located about 15 miles from Durango and 30 miles from Pagosa Springs, this provides a good central location. On the downside the Wi-Fi was pretty spotty and the cable overall was poor and not enough spacing for picnic tables at our site. Our dog loved all the grassy areas though and there was enough space between units to be comfortable. We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Thank you for your kind words. Yes, you're right about the flowers. Every year we seem to increase the spots where we put them. Come on back and enjoy them along with the streams, streams and big meadows. It would be fun to see y'all again.

Kind of a cute park. Open all year which was handy right before Thanksgiving. Lots of long timers in 5th wheels, judging by the size of the propane tanks they had. Wi-Fi really good. Cable TV WILL require an RG6 barrel connector (male-to-male). All gravel. Fairly tightly packed. Creek area nice but also no one in those sites. Can't imagine this place being full. Our 42ft motorhome fit easily. We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Two things happened which cause the low rating. We were coming from Alamosa over Wolf Creek Pass to Bayfield. It had snowed all night in the mountains and we were concerned about road conditions. I called the RV park in Bayfield to see if they had any real time information. Over a period of 4 hours, they never picked up the phone and never called back. When we checked in and mentioned this, no apology, nothing. Kudos to the Alamosa KOA for the phone calls they made and tapping into live camera feeds on the pass to give us the comfort we could safely make the trip. Then we get placed in one of the worst sites in the RV Park. So much for calling eight months earlier to make the reservation, asking for and being assigned a specific site on the pond for a week stay. No explanation, no attempt to assign us a similar site. We were dumped into what I would describe as the trailer park section, with an odd assortment of sites laid out very poorly. Our site was tight. There was a back-in half site next to us, angled such that our slides nearly touched. The grass area was overgrown, unlevel and full of weeds. This could have been a completely different experience if we were treated as though they gave a damn about us and our safety and we were in a site that we made a special effort to secure. The entrance and front area are beautifully landscaped. The grounds, ponds and streams are all lovely. The restrooms are nice and I can't believe I'm saying this but the softest toilet paper ever. Utilities worked fine. Good internet. Extensive cable network including 2 HBO channels an channel guide. Sites are level and gravel. Roads are paved in the front, gravel in back. We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Motorhome.

Flowers everywhere, great place to stay about halfway between Pagosa Springs and Durango. Pull through and back-in sites available, all interior roads are gravel some sites might be difficult for big rigs to get into but site staff will assign spaces based on vehicle length. Catch and release ponds, alpaca, grassy areas. No pool, no campfires, but quiet campground. We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This a nice park with friendly staff. It can accomodate big rigs, although the spaces were a bit tight. Even though the park was very attractive and there were beautiful flowers planted at the entrance, the spaces were close together and kind of "meh" . The biggest downside was the water pressure. At times it was more like a drip. All in all, we would stay here again in spite of the water pressure. We camped at Bayfield Riverside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
