This is one the most well-maintained parks that we have been to in 5 years of full-time travel. The sites are well-groomed gravel with new concrete patios and fire rings. The views from the park are beautiful and the location is convenient for the Royal Gorge and Canon City sights. The water pressure and quality are excellent, as is the wifi and Verizon coverage. The owners and staff are attentive and helpful. The guests here are mostly adults. The parks with the noisy children's activities and huge playgrounds etc are further up the road, closer to the gorge. The owner of the park lives on site and is very active in maintaining the grounds and attending to guests. We were thankful to have such an attentive person around when the group who recently came in and parked next to us became unruly. They had multiple vehicles, off-leash dogs, and just too many people on their sites. Not to mention the homemade propane tank fueled flame-thrower that they were playing around with right next to us. The park owner eventually had to ask them to leave. When they left, they sprayed gravel all over a neighbor's truck as they sped off. We were so glad to have someone keeping things under control and enjoyable for the rest of us, who were having our stay ruined by these folks. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

What a total rip-off! Save your money and go elsewhere. This place is not worth the $950 for two weeks that they ripped us off on! Their website makes it sound like such a nice place, but it totally sucks! Don't waste your money on deluxe or premium because there is absolutely nothing special about either one...even the standard sites are subpar. No shade at all! You get a little concrete pad with a plastic picnic table. If you have teenagers that drive, be prepared to pay $7 a day to park extra vehicles! Another rip off. Bathrooms were closed, locked up, staff person directed us to the bathhouse facilities (only one on site!). Be prepared to use the toilet and shower in public because the door does not lock, and there are two toilets and two showers so have fun taking a shower with strangers! Gross! People stare at you as you come in like they have never seen another human being! How intrusive! No privacy whatsoever! Dog parks...two....HA! Big joke! Basically grass area that is not fenced in so your poor dogs have no where to run or get exercise! What a joke! Playground area? Where? You blink and you miss it. Also be prepared to follow their full page of rules! I am not sure how the owners sleep peacefully at night knowing they are completely ripping people off! We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Mountain View RV Resort, owner at Mountain View RV Resort responded to this review

WOW, These were the 1st people we have asked to leave and refunded their charges. It is important to us that they be happy and the best way to do that was to have them enjoy their two week stay somewhere else.
These folks arrived after being asked to leave one of our state parks, Unfortunately we did not know that until they shared that with us at check in.
Not exactly sure what these folks expected, may have been more familiar with trailer parks than a nice clean friendly RV Resort
The bath house was closed for 1.5 hrs while we repaired a clogged drain, Our dog areas are not advertised as fenced ( we didn't take down the fence before they arrived)
they were able to fit a pick up truck, fifth wheel trailer and two additional vehicles on the deluxe site the asked for. all that fit at no additional fee
On their way out one of the immature adult sons speed out spraying gravel on other coaches
These folks were just not a good fit for our Resort or our other guests

Great staff, very friendly, nice, will answer all questions. They take you to your spot and help you get best view. Campsite is super clean and well maintained. Great views, nice clean bathroom and showers. They will give ideas of things to do and trails that are fun to walk. Will go back again. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Very clean and quiet. We will be back for sure! Great place. Down falls you cannot check in after dark. The other downfall is the odor from the horses next door. We wished their dog areas were fenced for ball time/ off leash. We did drive to all other RV resorts and by far this is the best! We can't wait to stay again. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We are new to the travel trailer experience. The owner met us at the entrance, took us to our site and even guided us into the spot. He also took the time to give the picnic table a good cleaning (it already looked clean to us) even though we told him we wouldn't be using it. Wonderful camp ground and we hope to spend some more time there soon! We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Unusually long drive in unusually hot weather and we were so ready to get set up. Pulled in and the owner took us right to our site, unhooked our tow vehicle, guided us in and we had the A/C up and running in under 5 mins of arrival! Can't say enough about how hospitable and helpful the hosts/owners are. We booked months ago and requested a premium perimeter site and at the time they said it shouldn't be a problem that late in the season, but couldn't guarantee anything. Well, even though the place looked full, they managed to save us my first choice of sites. Sites and amenities are immaculate. Some of the best views anywhere. The hosts were continually circling the resort, sweeping patios, raking gravel, plucking the odd weed, checking on guests, etc. Definitely makes our top 5 list. Be aware that many restaurants, activities, attractions and such close down for the season around this time. Call ahead. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Royal Gorge Railway was jam packed, even this late in the season. Definitely check out Bunk House Burgers! Don't bother with White Water Bar and Grill. The Conoco stations have pretty good access for gassers.

Beautiful park! We had stayed here before the new owner's took over and the improvements they have made are outstanding. Park is quiet, clean and well laid out with space between the sites. Amazing views and right in the heart of many activities. We will be back! We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for four nights to visit the Royal Gorge, take the train and do a couple of scenic motorcycle rides. This was a very clean and well appointed campground. Our site was level, included a large concrete pad and was conveniently located to Canon City and the Royal Gorge. The guy in the office led us to our site and, as noted in other reviews, wiped off out table. He also gave us a couple of motorcycle ride suggestions, which we took. The scenery was breath taking, as was the altitude. :-) We highly recommend MVRR. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Royal Gorge RR was great fun. Go mid-week. The Royal Gorge itself is a bit of a tourist trap, but a must do while in the area. We rode to Cripple Creek. If you don't gamble, which we don't, it's really not worth the trip. The ride there and back was scenic. Not a heck of a lot to do in Canon City, but there is fuel and a Safeway.

Don't miss the Royal Gorge Route RR trip and at least drive out to the Royal Gorge Park to view the suspension bridge, zipline and tram. You can pay to enter and walk out to the bridge, or view it all from the free parking area.

Clean and well-kept. Guided to spot. Nice little play area for kids. Near highway but we didn't notice noise. Great location for Royal George and rafting companies while avoiding busyness of Canon City. Price included additional charge for extra kids and no discounts available during holidays. Not a big place, but premium sites provide a little extra elbow room between neighbors. Gravel pads and roads, but concrete side walks and patio space keeps it clean and easy. They even came and wiped down the patio table when we checked in. We camped at Mountain View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The views are amazing, but that's not the best part. It is so clean and every spot is beautifully appointed. The spaces are wide and private and easy to get into--big rig friendly. From the minute you arrive, you are greeted with friendly folks and escorted to your site. This is close to Royal Gorge Train and Suspension bridge as well as many Rocky Mountain adventures.
