We stayed 1 night. The staff were very nice & helpful. The roads were absolutely terrible. They are dirt roads filled with ruts & holes. We had a "deluxe" site which was filled with overgrown grass & weeds. In fact most of the campground was the same. The dog walking area was completely overgrown with weeds with a narrow pathway. In the men's bathroom the stalls are very small, there aren't any SINKS in place are liquid sanitizer dispensers, a hand dryer blower on the wall & a long stainless steel counter. There are no exit signs except one small one at the very end. They have a speed bump installed diagonally and even at the slowest speed our motorhome rocked from side to side. The road outside the park that eventually leads to the highway is very narrow & hopefully you don't run into a oncoming vehicle. We have stayed at numerous campgrounds including state parks & national forests & Golden Eagle has been our worse experience. We camped at Golden Eagle Ranch RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

It is a mud hole, our coach is a mess. Roads are muddy ruts. Spots are small and totally muddy. Just a mess. Too expensive at any price. People in office are nice but stay there was miserable. Never Again! Don't think improvements have ever been made! We camped at Golden Eagle Ranch RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

It is in a beautiful area and it is very easy to get to, but that's about all it has going for it. It's an old park, and it needs some work. Some sites were level, but mine definitely wasn't. The interior roads are rutted dirt and so are the sites, so it makes it challenging to get around. My picnic table and fire pit weren't usable as they were severely slanted and in tall grass. We learned that the ponds that they usually stocked with fish are drained, so those were not available. The first part of the road is a hill and only one lane, so it was a gamble to be on it, hoping not to run into oncoming traffic. This place has a lot of potential but at this point I wouldn't recommend it. We camped at Golden Eagle Ranch RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This park is unique to say the least. We actually enjoyed our stay here, but had to get past a few quirks. The sites are all pull through and you share the electricity pole and water connection with your neighbors next door. The electric hook up has both 30 and 50 amp. That means one of you gets 50, the other gets 30 and someone will need to hook up by running the electric cord under the unit. The water connection has two spouts so everyone gets water, but again someone will need to hook up by running the water hose under the unit. Every site has sewer. The park has been around a long time and is looking a bit tired, but we found it to be peaceful and high enough for some nice views. All the roads, are dirt, including the one from the office to the actual campground which is a one lane and rather steep. The sites are shaded and have both a picnic table and fire ring. Our site was level. The park is well located for site seeing in and around Colorado Springs. We camped at Golden Eagle Ranch RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground is out of the city enough to feel remote yet close enough to be convenient to all the attractions we wanted to take in during our planned 3 night stay. We were aghast, however, when we drove in to settle into our spot, at the condition of the interior roads and the sites. Sites were not only unlevel, but rutted and sometimes even inaccessible by our 38ft MH. We would have bottomed out had we attempted to park in the site we had been assigned. The staff was very accommodating in getting us into a different site, but only offered sites that were available the full span of our stay. It scared us to think what would have happened if we had been there during a busy time. We did find a site and sat back and watched as other RVs came in and experienced the same issues. When was the last time you had to use a level pad to level the picnic table! We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Colorado Springs, but would never recommend this park especially at the premium rate we were charged $52/night FHU. We camped at Golden Eagle Ranch RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a quite rustic campground in a spectacular setting. Be prepared for dirt sites and some challenges with leveling. There are many excellent walking opportunities in and adjacent to the campground. Be cautious about the deluxe site option for an extra $10/day. This is simply an adjacent site which has been abandoned from active use. If you need/like extra space, it may be worth the money. The onsite insect museum (for an extra fee) is excellent. This campground is not maintained. All roads and camp sites are dirt, potholes and camp sites that are not level. Most of the hookups were on the wrong side of your camper. I would not recommend this campground. We camped at Golden Eagle Ranch RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This park is a little rough around the edges in regards to grounds maintenance. The dirt sites don't even pretend to be level and the weeds and grass are pretty high. We were put in a "deluxe" site that supposedly has a side yard for outdoor living. On the plus side, that side yard gives you some space between you and your neighbor. On the minus side, our side yard was unusable because it was covered in dog poop. Our next door neighbor informed us that the people who were in this site before us had 3 dogs, whom they let roam the site unrestrained and poop everywhere. The campers then left without picking up any of the poop. Our neighbor said he'd gone down to the office to complain; we also went to the office to complain, but during our week-long stay no one ever came by to clean it up. Next time we're in Colorado Springs we'll try somewhere else; $48 per night was a little pricey considering the quality of the park. We camped at Golden Eagle Ranch RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Beautiful in the Mountains. Owners objective is to keep a balance of nature and comfort. Very helpful staff. (Can't give them enough stars for this) Clean bathrooms and showers. Pretty trails to hike. Small lake to fish. (avid fishermen this is not for you. It's just for kids or fun) Fire rings and picnic tables provided. Everyone there is friendly. The Historic May Insect museum is located here. Minimal charge to see but worth it. Thing to remember here is that you are camping in nature and this isn't a concrete parking. It would ruin the ambience. Yes you are next to an Army base. If you get to hear Revelie or Taps be proud of your military men and women. I saw several RV parks in the area and they looked like parking lots.. I will be back.. We camped at Golden Eagle Ranch RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

This is a touch south of main Colorado Springs on Highway 115 off of I-25 towards Canon City where the Royal Gorge Bridge is (34 miles). It's about 17 minutes to Garden of the Gods and Manitou Springs. There are many stores and nice shopping centers near on 115 or Nevada street. My biggest tip is going here expecting real camping in the mountains.

This park has been around a while but has not been updated much. There are sites from tent camping with no utilities, some sites with electric and water, and several with full hookups. Roads are easy to navigate but since they are dirt roads and we probably just had the wettest summer on record, there is a lot of rutting. The workers are out about every other day with a tractor trying to level out the ruts. We really felt sorry for the tenters having to survive the daily downpours. Each site has a firepit and some grass and trees. We lucked out and got an end-site so no one on one side of us. Not exactly the most level site, but we were able to perfectly level for the month. Power worked consistently. Wi-fi was iffy on the tower we were close to but the tower on the other end worked great all the time. OTA TV was ok - was able to get ABC, CBS, and FOX. Although NBC also has a tower about 3 miles away, we could not pull that station in. The lake is nice to walk around and people did catch some trout. There are hiking paths that are nice hikes and good views. I did spot 3 bears, some turkeys, rattle and bull snakes, and deer. Ft. Carson is across the street so you do hear artillery practice and helicopters. It was kind of cool to hear Taps and Reveille every day. Monthly rate includes electric and the $26 / day was based on monthly stay. We camped at Golden Eagle Ranch RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Juniper Valley Ranch for home-style meal - has been around forever. Pub Dog was a great place to grab a beer and let your dog run around. The Abbey for winetasting. Either Dakota Springs or Desert Reef hot springs. Be aware, both of these places are pretty rustic and they are clothing optional. Then of course the normal tourist spots in Colorado Springs area.

Have been rving for only 1 year and have stayed in approx 20 parks. This is the worst of the worst. Other parks were full or would have not stayed. Nothing but mud, gravel and weeds. Hard to manuver roads and unlevel sites. Water connection in dug out pit, sewer connection just a pipe w/cover. Showers dirty w/nothing but ragged shower curtain, no locks on doors. Don't stay here!!!!!!! We camped at Golden Eagle Ranch RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Campground is well established, but is still a work in progress. Roads and campsites were rough, uneven, and not level as well as having several tight turns. Some campsite sewer connections were too high to use for dumping. Staff were very responsive and helpful, but the park needs significant physical upgrades. Other campgrounds were full over a holiday weekend but we were able to get a spot here. Staff were friendly over the phone when we made reservations. When you check in make sure you park below the office because once you make the tight turn up the hill to the campsites the road is narrow even for two RVs going in opposite directions. The campground roads are hard packed dirt and were ok even with rain. We were put in a "deluxe" site which was all that was available. These sites are dirt and rock, FHU, not very level. What made them deluxe is they have a "yard" which is another site that has a picnic table and fire pit. We thought this was wasted space, mostly used by people cutting through to go to the bathroom. Amenities include a fishing lake for a fee, small store and over priced insect museum. Wifi was slow. We mostly used this campground as a base to see the sights in the area which were fairly convenient to get to as I-25 is nearby. Ft Carson is across Hwy 115 so you can hear reveille in the am and taps at night as well as live fire exercises. We thought the price was a bit high for what you get at this campground, but probably comparable to other campgrounds and maybe cheaper if you don't get a deluxe site. Next time we are in the area we would try to stay in the state park. We camped at Golden Eagle Ranch RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
