I would go back to this campground every year if I could! The sites are spacious but tricky to park: the campground crew was incredibly helpful. There is not a lot of activities for kids, but we spent a lot of time doing local activities. The grounds are all rock, which isn't the greatest for bike riding. This is a great place for a quiet getaway and relaxing. We saw lots of hummingbirds and the setting is beautiful. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is a great location for activities in both Colorado Springs and Pueblo. If you have pets, consider bringing a sizable rug as the rock is hard on them for a long period of time.

From the time we arrived everyone we came in contact with was first class. This is a wonderfully run campground. We were able to get only 5 days but after visiting Yellowstone we will be coming back for 2 weeks and can't wait to relax and enjoy this beautiful campground. We saw deer, wild turkey and so enjoyed the hummingbirds visiting our feeder. Laundry was new and immaculate. Staff was a pleasure to work with in helping us find a site so we could come back. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a great campground. We got the only site available, and it turned out to be a gem. Back-in, shaded, level, with great wi fi and cable reception, but I understand that your reception on both these depends on where you are located. Staff expertly backed us in. Everything was all gravel. Small workout room with 2 ellipticals and 1 treadmill, but a new, larger facility will be open next year. Many people live here full time or most of the summer, so overnight spaces are harder to get. Ice cream social on Saturday night and breakfast waffle bar with all the trimmings on Sunday morning. Park is out in the country, and there are gravel trucks going back and forth on the road to a nearby quarry, which does stir up some dust, but the trucks do stop at night. Park is about equal distance between Colorado Springs and Canon City--some 20 miles to both. Looks like they are building a new bathhouse. Laundry spacious and nice. No pool but the map showed a hot tub, which we did not see. Utilities all good. This is a great place to kick back and relax. We would love to come back. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

If you go into Colorado Springs, you will enter the Interstate at Academy. Camping World is just a couple of exits down. There is a great fried chicken restaurant very close to the park, but it is only open on week ends.

Overall Rating:

This is the best RV Park in Colorado Springs. But that is because the other parks are more or less trailer parks for full time residents with travel trailers or fifth wheels. This in large part due the extensive military presence in Colorado Springs.

The staff is very helpful and friendly but do not enforce the 5 mph speed limit so if you are in the font row of the main driveway (sites 1-8 or 9-16) every time a registering camper coming in or sewer truck, FedEx, UPS, or other delivery truck goes by a dust cloud from the red gravel covers your car and RV. The worst violators are the campground employees who go up and down the main driveway 20 mph in Golf carts, skidsteers, and utility vehicles all day. The park has their water delivered so you cannot wash your rig unless you use their mobile wash guy who has a contract with the park.

The park wireless depending on where you are is very good. They have a signal extender for cell phones so if you want to make a Verizon call you can if you are near the office where the tower is.

Cable TV was adequate, depending on which site you are on. I moved once and had a good signal on one site and grainy on another.

Sites 1-7 are so narrow if you have slides on both sides you could be overhanging the site next to you and the sewer connections are in the next site in the front so your neighbors sewer connection is 3 feet from your front door on your site.

Other sites are very wide and spacious. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

These people know how to do a first class CG! Pea gravel roads and sites. On site office/store is well stocked with munchies and dry goods that you might have run out of. Nice laundry, playground, and immaculacy landscaped high dessert style. No problems with power or water. I was going to take some pictures to post here, but the pictures and video on their website would do a better job of showing the amenities and facilities. I opted for a crescent shaped pull thru that had sufficient trees to provide afternoon shade, but I did have to put out my external sat antenna a few feet from the rig. But there are lots more nice sites to choose from where satellite signals aren't blocked. Their website page will allow you to click on a site and see photos of it which takes the guessing out of the selection process. Again, that's first class. Nice rec/computer/game room. Nightly rate may be a bit high for some, but you get what you pay for. I usually stay at another nice CG in the Colorado Springs area, but this one will be the replacement from now on. My only negative, which is not in the control of the CG, is that Verizon cell signal was almost non existent. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

I think the owners out a lot of work into this park and it shows. Best wireless we have seen, but make sure to ask which wireless your spot should use.

We had to switch sites because while our site was advertised as good satellite, it's only good if your dish is located on the front. That said, the owner was so accommodating! The site we stayed at was double (almost triple) of other sites and this is one site that truly is big rig friendly.

My recommendation would be that when you book your site, be specific about your needs and they will do their best to assign the right spot for you.

There are a few items that impacted the "9" rating instead of a 10: it is extremely far from Colorado Springs proper, no grass whatsoever (tough for dogs, even with a dog run which is dirt), the water pressure was very low, and the lack of cell service. The owners couldn't help the first and last issues but with the latter, it is a known issue and would've helped knowing about it when we booked. There were workarounds with the latter but we spent a couple of hours getting Skype working (wish we actually read these reviews first and we could have set up at our leisure rather than spending it right after driving and setting up). Others in the campground were actually complaining about AT&T when I went in to ask about the same.

Again, it taught us to be very specific about our needs before arriving rather than assuming based on reviews. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Stock up on groceries before arriving. Ask for not only the wireless password but the connection name that is best suited for your site (there are several). If you have AT&T, set up Skype before arriving. If you want satellite service, be specific about the location so they can assign the right spot. Check-in is straight ahead at the office when you pull in.

This has to be one of the nicest parks we have been to, beautiful landscape sites, long and wide so not to feel like you on top of your neighbor. A bit of a ride to Colorado Springs and attractions but for us it was worth it, especially after seeing some of the rv parks in the town area. A beautiful campground off the highway a bit, nestled into the mountainside. We were greeted by a family of deer and a great staff who helped guide us / park us in our site.

Shower houses were clean with good temperature and water pressure. Weekend activities (ice cream social, breakfast) were great to meet the neighbors.

Only thing keeping this from a 10 was our proximity to the road and the quarry trucks that came by first thing in the morning. Was a surprise, but by the 3rd day, was not an inconvenience at all.

Trails / amenities at the campground were great and the proximity to Colorado Springs & Canon city were perfect for our itinerary. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We had a family of 4 (including a 6 & 9 year old). Local activities:

* Canon city (Colorado Jeep Tour & Cowboy Chuckwagon - excellent!!!)

* Canon city (whitewater rafting with River Runners on Bighorn sheep canyon - excellent)

* Cripple Creek - Mollie Kathleen gold mine was good, the railroad is a complete rip off and for the drive it was so -so...not meant for kids

Stayed here June and July 2016. Rate reflects monthly rate. This is a very nice campground. Wildlife wanders through. Would have been an 10 but single laundry facility (4 washers+4 dryers) stayed crowded. Note that construction of a 2nd laundry facility has already begun. Would arrange my travels to stay here again if ever in this part of the country. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is our second stay at the park and it remains one of our favorite RV parks. The park is paved with reddish rock gravel, sites are spacious, large, level and terraced with rock walls. This is not your typical park in a row park. The staff are helpful and friendly. The park is about 15 miles from Colorado Springs, which may be a negative for some. At our site satellite service was very good, but ATT cell service was non-existant. Wifi was poor to very good, I suspect depending on the number of users. Cable was offered, but we didn't use it. The restroom/showers were unisex; clean and adequate. Laundry was excellent. The park is not especially kid friendly, but there is a playground. Given the amount of activities in the area, our kids were not disappointed. There are deer in the park. We would camp here again. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed our stay in this park! Can say enough good things! Park staff were very helpful and friendly, escorted us to our site. Even called us one day to alert us the park power had gone out for a short while and they were concerned about our pets in the RV! We have never had anyone do that! We so appreciated this effort on the part of office staff. We were entertained by nightly visits from deer, turkeys, and squirrels! The deer would eat right out of your hand! Our site was up on a tiered level.....and we think it was the best in the park! Lots of shade and so much room! We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Stayed a month, as we full time. $695+ power. True camping in the trees. Satellite iffy, cable iffy. Laundry spotless. Some spaces right on top of each other, others roomier. Nearly impossible cell service. Staff very nice. Plenty of social activities. Very popular in season. Probably won't stay again. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful destination park. It's out in the country, at least 16 miles from anything. Not a place you'd want to stay if you're planning on doing a lot of running around. We stayed in site 36 and it was great. No one behind us & no one to our left. And the left side had 5 trees so there was good shade all day on that side. The park is very well maintained with nice landscaping and large boulders and pretty gravel. Our firepit was made of rocks-very nice! WiFi was hit or miss & Verizon signal was weak. Very nice front loading washers & dryers. I could stay here all summer! We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We enjoyed our stay at this pleasant campground. Roads and sites are packed gravel. Fill was brought in to make sites level and rock-scaping was almost finished to cover the embankments. There are many pines that provide some filtered shade. The community room is very nice and was made available to our small group. There are a variety of activities available to all campers. These are posted at the office. There is a nice-sized dog park. The sites toward the back of the park seem to be for long-time residents. They are clean and well kept, and there are flower beds here and there throughout the park. This is not an overnight stop as it isn't convenient to the Interstate. There was no noise from highways, no trains, but there are large trucks that go by to the quarry nearby. Signage is good. It is easy to get in and out of the park. Our site was I. The interior of a loop. We had to exit through a vacated site to get to the exit road. Even so, we liked the site and its access to everything. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.
