Very nice park located just south of Colorado Springs. The grounds are very nice, and they seem to always be improving. We were greeted and escorted to our site by a nice gentleman. The staff had a waffle bar for Memorial Day weekend and an ice cream social in the evening. There are many deer that frequent the park. The wifi was ok and the Verizon signal was little to none. There is a small playground but that's about it for the little ones. Everyone that we encountered could not have been any nicer, would recommend and would stay again. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful rock lined sites. Easy to access laundry. Friendly people. Lot spacing is spacious with some shade. Site surface is gravel featuring a fire ring, picnic table and patio. This is the best campground we've ever stayed at throughout the US and Canada.

We will be back again next month. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

We spent about two weeks at the park. It's beautifully laid out with huge gravel sites. We had trailers over 40' next to us and we still had tons of room. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The laundry room was excellent and the machines were so efficient that they were very reasonable. I dried all our clothes in about 24 minutes. There is a huge lovely lounge with a giant TV. You are out in the forest and deer and turkeys wander through the park. We were here in November so it was cold out and I have no comment on the hot tub. My only minor complaint is that the lounge and immaculate showers were kept a little cold, considering the outside temperature. We really like this place and would definitely return. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

This park is out in the country. My husband spent some time fishing. The Arkansas River is not too far away and there are nice ponds just a few miles down the road. It is a bit of a haul into Colorado Springs, although we went into town several times. If you want a beautiful quiet place out in the country, this is it.

Overall Rating:

Very quiet, treed, spacious, terraced gravel sites. Far different then the typical parking lot rv parks. With their acceptance of Passport America, it is a real bargain. The only drawback is the location being a ways out from downtown Colorado Springs and no ATT service. We had site 25 which was a very spacious long pull through with trees but the trees have been carefully trimmed to avoid any contact. There was a new wifi antenna directly adjacent to the site resulting in excellent wifi. Cable tv worked good. All other utilities worked good. Spacious private bathrooms. Large fenced dog park. A lot of motion detecting lighting that comes on when needed. Rate was based on average of one night of passport america and one night of full rate. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This was a very well organized park. The site we had was large enough to put up our screen tent, have the picnic table in another spot, have chairs under our awning, and still have chairs around the fire pit. Our neighbors were screened from our site by our camper and a rock wall.

The service help in parking the camper was fantastic.

We would definitely visit again. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We can't say enough good things about this campground. Its one of the top two campgrounds we've stayed at in the United states. Staff are friendly and helpful and you can use their phone in the lounge as needed. This was our second visit and it was just as good as we remembered it. Sites are spacious and wooded, trees are trimmed so its easy to maneuver around them, fire pits, picnic tables, everything you could want and still have a somewhat rustic feel. Distance to CS was not a problem for us. Only downside was the gravel trucks on the nearby roadway heading to and from a rock quarry. Deer and other wildlife are frequently seen. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Ten isn't a high enough score! We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

About 45 minutes from the Royal Gorge Railway which is a fun trip. Rapids/rafting is nearby also. Nearest Safeway grocery story is about 20 minutes away. There's a interesting one way drive near the prison in Canon City. Hard to find, but worth it, look for an archway on the far side of town on the north side. Phantom Ranch road was closed due to spring flooding, but its supposed to be a great drive if you have a jeep or similar vehicle.

One of our all time favorite places to camp. The area is so relaxing with deer and other wildlife. Things you may not like, some sites have zip for internet and t v reception. It is a little distance from shopping etc. Still we feel the friendly folks that run the place and the smell of the pines make it an almost perfect camp for us. This is a lovely campground, beautifully laid out & landscaped. The staff is very friendly. You are escorted to your site. There are deer that wander the park. The cable worked well as did the WiFi. The laundry was very clean & very reasonably priced. The sites were very level & the hook ups well placed. The sites were spacious. The park is very pet friendly. Passport America rate is available for three nights Sunday - Thursday. That said the drawbacks are, the only grass is by the dump station. The park is off the beaten path. There is no cell service but there is a land line that you can use in the lounge. The only restaurant in the area is about 14 miles away; Gooseberry Patch. The good far outways the bad & we would definitely stay there again. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

One of our favorite parks in the US. The owner and staff are outstanding!

Every year the park is better than the prior year. Fresh new landscaping improvements and WiFi has been greatly improved. As always we saw a lot of deer, turkey and even a fox this year. The lay out of the park is unique in that it feels more like a community than your typical line em up pack em in park. We love it I am sure you will too.

Mountaindale is a very nice campground off the beaten track. The sites are level and I saw maintenance actually using survey equipment to level a site. The entire campground is well packed gravel with beautiful landscaping.

The Wi-Fi worked fine but I didn't like having to log in twice to use it. There are numerous repeaters throughout the CG and you have to experiment to find the best one. Again, you have to log in twice to each one.
Cable is analog and reception at my site was snowy.

This CG is a nice base camp while touring the Colorado Springs area. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Friendly and accommodating. Staff is very attentive and helpful. We are staying for a couple of months, and made reservations at the last minute. This required us to move a couple of times in the first weeks until we settled into our permanent spot, and staff were extremely helpful in facilitating these moves. The park is just the right distance from Colorado Springs - ~20 minutes on good, fast roads. Quiet, clean and full of wildlife to enjoy. I hesitate to recommend highly as it will only mean a harder time to get a reservation next year, but I have to give it to them - this is one of the best parks we have stayed at as fulltimers. I agree with most of the reviews and will stay there again. The rock haulers were a little annoying during the day, but most people gone on day trips anyhow. We got to watch maneuvers by the soldiers at Ft Carson in helicopters . The numerous deer in the park were an added attraction. Staff were super friendly and helpful. The sites were as big as I have ever seen at any park. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Just gets better every year; they have improved the WIFI, some heavy rains which drained fast and zero mud. Lots of Deer. They are working hard to increase the number of sites with another terrace. Sites are level clean and huge. Will be back next year; one of the best RV parks period. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We previously stayed at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort on our way to California. It was such an amazing place, we decided to stay again on our way back to Alabama. It was even more delightful than the first time.

The staff is so friendly, the park is absolutely gorgeous and I have already made reservations to stay there in June and August of next year.

The laundry room is modern and spacy; the grounds are immaculate and the store is well stocked.

Each site is very large and lined with beautiful Colorado rock.

They have an ice cream social every Sat. night and complimentary donuts and coffee Sun. morning.

I would recommend this campground to anyone who is passing through Colorado.

We are looking forward to enjoying the beauty of the Rocky Mountains and the quiet, serene atmosphere of Mountaindale. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

There's a lot to like about this location. Most of the campground is red gravel, tightly compacted to eliminate dust and provide an 'almost concrete' surface, although better looking. Due to some late scheduling we had to move to three different sites for three nights. Each site was spacious with easy access and an escort was quickly provided. Trees are trimmed so as not to get in the way, yet provide privacy and shade. WiFi actually worked, although typically slow. To give you some idea of the attention to detail in this campground, the roads are lined with little street lights about three feet high. Normally dim, when motion is detected they become much brighter for a few minutes. Nice touch!
If I have a complaint, not sure that I do, it's the staff repeatedly telling me how great it is at Mountaindale. When I was in business it was the customer that decided, not the employees! Location is a relatively secluded twenty five minute ride from Colorado Springs. We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Colorado Springs has become SO commercialized and crowded it's no longer a great destination. The Flying W Chuck Wagon dinners are a thing of the past, the Garden of the Gods is now in a residential section of town, and traffic is miserable. Sorry!
