Small park with nice wide easy access pull through spots for our 40 foot Super C motor home. Good water. Quiet. Close to Mesa Verde National Park. Walmart in town not too far from the park for those little things we always seem to need. We camped at La Mesa RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a small park, and it's all gravel, but there was plenty of shade. The owners and the camp hosts were very nice and helpful. The location is right off the main road thru town, which makes it very convenient for Mesa Verde and Canyon of the Ancients. We camped at La Mesa RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Small park and is indeed in a light commercial area, but clean and quiet. Sites are gravel, very spacious on the pull through side. We were in site 25 and had lots of shade from mature trees. There are a few grassy areas to walk dogs. However there is a great dog park close and some municipal parks also. Hookups were fine but located at back of site and needed extensions. Did have a city water issue for a couple hours one day and went it came back on there was some discoloration, which was cleaned up by our filter. WiFi was pretty good for a RV Park. People friendly. We camped at La Mesa RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This small park is in the town of Cortez, convenient for visiting Mesa Verde National Park. It has an asphalt driveway with gravel site pads. The sites are quite narrow. Our site was on the left side as you enter. It seems that the sites on the other side had a bit more room and were angled. We had a back-in site (don't think they have any pull-thru sites) with full hookups and 50 amp electric. There was a picnic table but not much room to make use of it. The included WiFi was OK. The restrooms are a little rustic but kept reasonably clean. The laundry consists of one washer and one dryer. They accept only cash or personal check. We camped at La Mesa RV Park in a Motorhome.

EZ access, level pull-thru park is nicely shaded while the deciduous trees have leaves, gravel sites, long enough for our 55' w/dinghy. Sites are wider than most sardine parks --about 20'. Call ahead as we took the last pull-thu at 2p the night we stayed. Some back-ins were still available. The staff were nice. The pics here by others are accurate. Cons: Rather pricey considering they told us 15% discount for vet; so calculate $45 w/0 discount .. and they wanted cash or check for the discount. We camped at La Mesa RV Park in a Motorhome.

Rating is low because sites on the west side of the park are next to a noisy car wash which sometimes sprays water on nearby sites. If you are not in sites 1 - 12 or so, you will have a great stay. I was given Good Sam discount for one night and Passport America for a second, so very good value. We camped at La Mesa RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here because the owner was so helpful over the phone. When we arrived a different manager was equally as nice and spent a long time explaining everything about the parks around. The most important thing he said, which we did, was to go to the Anasazi Heritage Center to get the most authentic history about the Ancient Puebloans before venturing over to Mesa Verde. Park has been explained well by other writers. It was very quiet at night and we didn't get bothered by the manager at all which was really nice. We camped at La Mesa RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is now one of our favorite stays. A month here, exploring Mesa Verde and hiking in the San Juans before the big fire was exquisite. THeir referral to a repairman was golden and we had excellent service. WiFi one of hte best yet. We camped at La Mesa RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Cortez is a charming little city and the City Park was AWESOME! Being 7 miles from Mesa Verde was great, wnet there 7 times. Shopping was very convenient with a Walmart and the City Market close by.

Small park, traveled sites. Pull through spots required a rather tight turn for a big rig. Sites were level and utilities were well maintained. Bathroom facilities were very clean but old and showers had no bench to sit on. Laundry facility also clean but only 1 washer and dryer. Several full time residents but park is clean and quiet. This park is located very close to the National Park. The staff was VERY helpful with local information and advice on RV friendly roads. The wifi worked great. The site was level with central hook ups. Overall we thought without the PA discount the price was quite high, (considering the ammentities available) but other parks in the area charge about the same. Our site was a pull through, but the staff did say it would be difficult because of the trees near the site, both getting in and leaving. We took our time and had no major issue and we are 40 feet. We camped at La Mesa RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Level gravel site in town with FHUs and wifi that worked. Price was with Passport America for one night. We have a 40' MH with toad which we had to park parallel and close to MH. I didn't hear any trains which is unusual for an rv park. We would return. Easy in and out. Finding the entrance coming in is the trick. We camped at La Mesa RV Park in a Motorhome.

Although entrance is marked with a large "RV Park" sign, it was difficult to distinguish between that entrance, the one to the gas station, and the road just passed it. It was easy to circle back to the entrance however. Owner was very nice and provided information about what to see while there. She gave us the site because it was longer and did not have cable (which we don't use anyway). She advised us about the tree in the back of the site but failed to warn us about the large one in front. In positioning the RV to miss the rear one, we hit a large branch and tore a chunk out of the front corner of our rig . It was the off season so we were able to extend our stay with no problem. We were able to get 82 channels off our antenna which included the news and weather from Salt Lake City, Grand Junction, and Albequerque. The Passport America discount was only good one night. The other two nights we got a 15% veterans' discount. The rate listed is the average of the 3 nights we were there. We camped at La Mesa RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Mesa Verde NP is a full day trip, especially in the summer when Weatherill Loop is open. The Anasazi Museum is very kid friendly with hands-on activities. The volunteers working the day we were there were very knowledgeable about sights to see on our way south. Four Corners Monument is about a 40 minute drive.

Great little park to use as home base for day trips. Owner is very friendly and knowledgeable. We took in all the sites she directed us to, and have tons of great pictures! Park has clean restrooms, showers and a washer & dryer. Bonus - the WiFi was excellent. I would say this park has everything you need and if by chance you forgot something - it is close to town. We even had great pedicures at Pro Nails in town. We'll be back!! We camped at La Mesa RV Park in a Motorhome.
