This is clearly a new park. It is clean and well maintained. The sites are gravel and roads are paved. The park is quiet and has great views of the surrounding area. We camped at West View RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

I spent 6 nights at this relatively new park, located about 2 miles north of Cortez. As I was staying after peak season, the park was relatively empty and very quiet. Although office hours were very sporadic, someone was usually just a phone call away. Staff was very accommodating. Nice new paved roads and level pull-through sites. We camped at West View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Many sights to see in the area, including Mesa Verde & Hovenweep. Telluride and Durango are relatively close and the drive to both is very scenic. LaCasita Restaurant in Cortez has excellent food. C&E Mobile RV Repair in Cortez took care of a problem with my motorhome and was reasonably priced.

We stayed at West View RV Resort for two nights in October. This was in the off season so we were one of about eight units there.

Everything was pretty much perfect. Long flat pull thru site, beautiful and clean bathrooms, spotless laundry room.

The only negative was the Park WiFi which was pretty much useless. We had strong AT&T cell signal so it didn’t matter. We camped at West View RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

I concur with TMN-15 June, 2018 review. Once the trees around the property mature, this will be a five star RV park. Only things I have to add in addition to TMN's review is cable TV is provided as well & there is plenty of overflow parking. Cable TV worked 100% of the time. WiFi worked 95% of the time. Excellent park. We camped at West View RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

RV Park is within driving distance (for me, that means up to 2 hrs one way max) to all area tourist sites: Ute Mountain Casino, Mesa Verde and Hovenweep NPs, Valley of the Gods, Monument Valley, Durango, Telluride, Silverton. If you like Thai food, visit "Thai Cortez" on Main Street in Cortez, CO. Their food is much better than one would expect to find in a city the size of Cortez.

Overall Rating:

This park is a work in progress, with a long-range plan that is on track to make it the premiere RV park in the area. Management is intently interested in pleasing clients and acts on suggestions without hesitation. With a healthy mix of long-term and short-term residents, there is an excellent program to make everyone feel welcome (active social schedule, daily happy hour, kids' playground, adult games). Sites are comfortable, roomy and fit with excellent utilities. All roadways are paved and guttered. RV sites are level, long and heavily graveled. Here's what we liked: generous sites, irrigated grass at all sites, planned social activities, top-notch amenities (to include Bark Park, pickleball courts, putting greens and outdoor gathering spaces), reliable and fast Wi-Fi and daily curbside trash pickup. Here's what we didn't like: Park is located adjacent to a busy (noisy) construction warehouse; it will be some years before the multiple rows of newly planted trees will damp the noise. There is no shade anywhere on the property, although many trees have been planted-it will take time before they have an impact. All RV sites are oriented generally on a north/south axis, which provides maximum heating effect from the arc of the sun throughout the day. Extra RV shades are needed. We stayed a month. We camped at West View RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice, new up and coming RV park. Well thought out and easy to navigate with multiple amenities to include a putting green, dog park (affectionately known as the "Bark Park") kids playground, an on-site beauty salon and bar with daily happy hour for socializing. There are also pickle ball courts and a community fire pit. The sites are level, gravel, with a small concrete pad/picnic table and grass area. Good water pressure, also has very basic cable hook-ups. To our pleasant surprise, they offer daily trash pick up! Just put your trash on the curb in front of your site in the morning and they come around and grab it - a wonderful little touch you don't get at most places. There are also propane grills located throughout the park for use. As to be expected with a new park, there are some growing pains. The trees are young and small so don't expect any shade. This part of Colorado tends to be windy, so keep an eye on your awning! The resort is right off the highway and next door to a lumberyard, so expect a bit of noise during the day. As another reviewer mentioned, the main sign is easy to miss, so keep a sharp look out or you'll drive right by it. The big tip off is the lumberyard next door. They were paving the interior roads while we were there, which will make navigating around the park even easier. Power was clean and even. No issues reported from our P.I. surge protector. If it matters, the bulk of the people staying at this park are residents, seasonal or otherwise. Everyone kept their sites clean and orderly and everyone was friendly. Staff was courteous and happy to answer any questions we had. It's just a short drive into town if you need to get fuel, groceries, ice, liquor, etc. We camped at West View RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

This park is very close to Mesa Verde N.P., which is a must-see! Also, it's less than a half-day trip to visit the four corners monument. Head north on Hwy 145 to visit the San Juan National Forest, or west out of Cortez to visit the Canyons of the Ancients National Monument.

This is a wonderful park and we highly recommend it. It's only been open a year and the owners did a great job setting this up. The sites are very level and spacious. The RV's are on gravel but there is a large grass area in between sites. The laundry had four washers and four dryers and was quite reasonable. The showers are in private bathrooms behind the office/clubhouse and looked very clean. There is a happy hour every day M-F but we didn't go. There are grills for public use and bocce ball. We would definitely go back. The odd thing is that sometimes the park is listed as being in Cortez but on other devices it's considered in Dolores. We camped at West View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Beware - the sign for the RV park is very small - at least for now. We missed it the first time and had to make a big u-turn a couple miles down the road. Not fun with a 45 MH towing! Keep an eye out for the lumber yard on the right as it is just next to the RV park. Very nice and accommodating staff. They have a beautiful clubhouse with a great happy hour. There is a pickleball court, small putting green, bocce ball, and playground. This is a nice looking park with long, level, gravel sites. The sites are terraced. Each site has a concrete patio with picnic table. There is good separation between sites with nice grassy areas. There are no mature trees so there isn't any shade. They have dish satellite service at each site. We didn't use it as we have Directv satellite. We could not see or connect to the Wi-Fi in our site 3. I guess we were in some sort of time warp. We could go to our friends RV right next to us and connect fine but we tried 6 devices at our site and none of them would work. We reported this to the owners but they didn't have an answer. In any case, using the Wi-Fi at our friends RV it was not the fastest WII FI but it was ok. You can also purchase a direct Wi-Fi connection. FYI - Verizon 4g 2bars. The owners are still making improvements. There are a couple of cabins that are more like small houses, and they expect to add more. They plan to pave the interior roads which would really keep the dust down. The biggest downside is noise. As mentioned earlier, there is a lumber yard right next door which is an eyesore and noisy when the equipment is running. They are planting some trees which may help alleviate this problem. The park is also right on very busy highway 145. We had to close our front door and windows to watch TV. These last two issues keeps me from rating this park higher. We camped at West View RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a brand new RV park and owners are working very hard to make it one of the best in the area. Location can't be beat; its actually much closer to Cortez than to Dolores, just minutes from grocery stores and other services. The parks interior roads will soon be paved which will cut down dramatically on the dust, which was our only real complaint here. Wifi worked well in our site, but not so well in our neighbors site, so it can be spotty. Sites are very generous and spaced well enough apart; lots of grass in between. There's an on-site hair salon and spa, a very nice club house and a cool bar where they serve very reasonable happy hour drinks. Laundry room was clean and also reasonably priced. We would definitely stay here again when we return to the Cortez area. We camped at West View RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Price reflects a weekly rate. The park is new, opening last Apr. with their phase 1, with two more to follow. Concrete patios, large level gravel pads, with picnic tables. On site limited bar in the main bldg with great hosts and a half price happy hour. Set in the center of the area with lots of attractions easy to get to. Plans are to have a propane refill on site. If you are planning to tour the cliff houses at Mesa Verde, the tour tickets sell out fast. It is a 20 mile trip from the entrance to the top of the mesa with twisty slow roads all the way and no towed rigs allowed.

Would have rated higher except there is a lumber yard next store, so you here the need of the forklift. Very nice park. They have a hairdresser on staff for pedicures, etc. beer/wine happy hour. Nice sites. This was opened in May 2017. Close to Cortez, Delores, Mesa verde national park. Very friendly staff. Would definitely stay again when in area. NEW park, just opened in May very nice big sites, with concrete patio and grass at every site. Our dogs loved it. WiFi worked well, as did the cable channels. The office area is all new with a Day Spa. My wife used and gave it very high marks. There is a Happy Hour at the bar and patio area every night, we meet the owner. It was fun and very cheap, half priced beer and wine. Dog area was close to our site and always clean. Still some construction going on now as they are going to expand to over 100 sites, all site 40 x 80 feet. Lots of room for big RV's. We will go back on our next trip. This is a new park in the Cortez area. All facilities show a lot of pride in this park. The owners are building a very nice facility and going about it right. Several seasonal guests in nice rigs. The lumber yard next door does start work early but the noise really can't be heard inside your RV. The noise is also not all day, just a couple hours. Has daily happy hours, potlucks and activities. The green grass is a plus here and well kept. The streets are gravel with gravel sights which are packed well. Good location to visit Mesa Verde, and Cortez. Not much to say here, but well done in most every way. We camped at West View RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
