Great Place! Well maintained. Lots of flowers and landscaping between the premium sites (41-45) Our site 43 had a elevated concrete patio with 4 chairs and a table and a fire pit. Some of the facilities were not open after Labor Day, Caboose Café, Movie Pavilion and Pizza from the office. They did have homemade pies and ice cream which was delicious. We camped at Durango KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Take the Durango & Silverton narrow gauge railroad to Silverton for lunch. They have some great restaurants! Then you can ride the train back or take the bus back. I would take the bus if went again. It's an hour by bus and 3 hours by train. I would suggest you add narration. You will learn a lot about the railroad and charters along the way. Vik was a great narrator.

As with a lot of KOA's the price seemed a little high, but with most KOA's I usually feel safe and find at least fair accommodations. When we arrived and checked in, the fellow that took us to our site was very patient. When I saw the site, my first thought was, "There is no way I'm going to get this trailer in that spot!" With a lot of help and "back and forth" we were able to dodge the rock and get the slides around the electrical box. I ended up not hooking up to the sewer because of the location and the difficulty in getting the hose run to it! The site was very small. When I put my slides out, they were slightly over the neighbors patio and my step was setting on a rock on the opposite side. The park does have a pretty setting with trees in some areas, not ours however. The restrooms were nice and well maintained, as was the park as a whole. Because of the tightness of the spot I will probably try to find another campground when I'm in Durango. We camped at Durango KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We love Durango. We come for the train, but the town has a lot to do and there are many other things to do and see. Lots of good places to eat! We'll be back to ride the train again in September.

This KOA is partly treed, with campsites scattered around in a somewhat random fashion. We were guided to our site. It has a small pool that closes a bit early in the evening. It has quite a few fun programs and activities for kids. I was there for a weaving conference at Fort Lewis College, so the KOA was quite convenient. It allowed me to drive to the school without having to go through downtown Durango. We camped at Durango KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Ride the Silverton Train - one way trip with bus the other way.We enjoyed Serious Texas Barbecue, especially eating outside with a view of the Animas River. We also had a great meal at the Irish Embassy Pub in downtown Durango.

Wifi is listed as working and after we arrived and paid - they informed us "Oh, by the way, sometimes our WIFI does not work with iphones". It never did work with our iPhones. We were there 5 days and had to use our cell service for data. I think they should fix it or not advertise it. Also, there is a lot of road noise - if you don't mind that and don't want WIFI then it is a typical KOA campground. For us, we will not be back. We camped at Durango KOA in a Travel Trailer.

The roads and sites are gravel, but level. The electric, water, sewer, and cable are excellent. The wi-fi is okay. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The pool is nice. The $2 carpet golf was fun, but not the best upkept course. This is a good location to get on the steam train, Durango and Silverton. In my humble opinion a much better steam train ride is the Cubres and Toltec train from Alamosa, CO. to Charma, NM. We have been on both trains. We camped at Durango KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Didn’t actually stay. Got a refund after they assigned us a pull through that was so tight we couldn’t open our awning properly or put down our steps fully. Also the sewer was way to high and inconvenient. We camped at Durango KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We were supposed to have site 58, but didnt get it, so they stuck us in site 9, worse site ever, in a bowl, the van slide down the gravel while trying to back in, manager sucks. The wifi sucked, we couldn't even connect, even though the owner "spared no expense" if so, you got ripped off, cable TV was so fuzzy. We camped at Durango KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We had a level, gravel, pull through, FHU site with cable TV. There are 2 bath/laundry houses but I am not sure that these are adequate for a when a park with non sewer sites and cabins is full. The park was nowhere near full, so we had no problem doing our e-mail and web surfing on their Wi-Fi. I saw no recycling. We camped at Durango KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed one night here. Our site was unlevel and the only good thing about it was the patio and furniture. Better have an extra long water hose to hook up to water. WiFi was weak. The overall arrangement of the park was weird. When we pulled to the front to hook up our Jeep to leave, my husband was chewed out for not contacting the office for an escort out because of some low wire. Was told it was on the receipt which we did not even read. Should have told us when we checked in. Will not be returning here. We camped at Durango KOA in a Motorhome.

We called and they had only a few back-in sites available so we took one of them. It worked out fine. We looked for a place with cable as we wanted to watch the football game but they didn't include NFL Network so we went to town and watched the game in Digs, which was very nice and accommodating. The site was level and easy to back into. Facilities were fine. We camped at Durango KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We got one of the sites with no sewer hookup. It was pretty nice but not wide enough to get our awning out all the way because of trees. It is well staffed with friendly people. Our last night before we moved on we tried the pizza they have in the office. It was delivered to our site. It was decent. We camped at Durango KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

One of the better KOAs I've stayed at. The customer service and extra amenities (meals, snacks, movies, and the like) were exceptional. It looks like a great place for family vacations. The site was nice enough, very level, nicely landscaped and not super close to the neighbors. The park is a little dusty and run down around the edges, but the utilities and amenities are in good condition. The location is not the greatest for those who like to be able to walk or bike through the local area - there is no where to go but the highway. Nevertheless, its only a few miles drive into town. Nice selection of cable channels. Verizon worked great. Wifi was poor. We camped at Durango KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice park that appeals to both young families and couples like ourselves. Compared to many, it is a relatively quiet park even on the weekend when nearly every site was taken. Our premium site was attractively landscaped and was more than long enough for our 40' MH and our toad. We had a table and four chairs, a fire pit and a charcoal grill. The roads are gravel and the sites are a thin layer of gravel on dirt. If this bothers because your shiny MH is getting dusty then you probably shouldn't be in this part of the US. The sites aren't perfectly level, but they're close enough that we could easily get ourselves level. One nice thing about the park is that different types of sites are scattered throughout; there isn't just one area for tenting and one for full-hookups, etc. There are lots of amenities such as a weekend snack bar and movies that we didn't avail ourselves of, but many others will enjoy them. The staff were very friendly. We stayed here for two weeks and enjoyed it immensely. We camped at Durango KOA in a Motorhome.

There's lots of tourist stuff in Durango, along with the Durango-Silverton railroad. Durango is also very convenient for seeing Mesa Verde, Canyons of the Ancients National Monument, Chimney Rock, and more.

We had a pull through site with a nice patio and table and chairs. The camp store, laundry facilities swimming pool and playground were all well maintained and clean. The camp store was reasonably priced and offered video rental. There was also a movie night while we were there that was fun for our daughter. It was raining during our stay. I am not sure about a fire ring, but our patio furniture were very nice. We camped at Durango KOA in a Motorhome.

Our trip was during the fires and heavy rain. Our activities were canceled due to the fires. We did, however, spend some time on the Durango main street and the Saturday, farmer's market. The people were very friendly and the streets clean.
