Typical NPS campground. Beautiful area but no electrical. Very popular. Campground is located on the east side of Rocky Mtn National Park, near Estes Park, just past the entrance station. Asphalt road and pad, even pad but slightly sloped. Most pads seemed sloped or short or both. No Verizon connection. No dump station at the campground, but we were able to use the dump station at other campgrounds (e.g., Moraine CG, which is deeper inside the park but still accessible from the west side without going over the Trail Ridge Road). - OlderGoat
Aug 2014 - $20.00
Campground is about 4 miles west of Estes Park and is smaller than Moraine CG. I find this CG to be much cooler and less dusty than Moraine. Standard NP non-electric campsites. - DennisA

We were pleased with this park. It is well located for both visits to Estes Park and trip to Rocky Mountain National Park. Spaces are a bit tight, but there is a nice river. We saw elk right in the park as others have noted. Try to get right on the river even if you pay a premium- you may have a lovely private area at the back of your trailer if it is not too long. This park looks like it is the best rv park in Estes Park. We would definitely stay here again. - Grants Girl

First I want start by saying the lady at the front desk during check in was very friendly, polite, and answered any questions we had. The gentleman that escorted us to out site was also very friendly and polite and helped us get lined up in the site, he also explained where the laundry was, and were to shop locally for fuel, groceries, etc. He was constantly driving around the park to make to see if anyone needed anything or had any questions. Every time I seen him he always waved, and numerous times he would stop and talk. Far as I am concerned this was top notch service, and I could not have asked for better When the sun went down it was very nice and quiet in the park, we even slept with the windows open. Far as I am concerned this was top notch service, and I could not have asked for better. Our stay also included the Labor weekend. During our stay we had tow vehicle problems when we were leaving out a couple of days early due to the problems. We got down the road and the tow vehicle totally stopped, I called them back and even though the park was full for the week they made arrangements so I could bring my fifth wheel back, for several additional days even though everything was full after out departure date. I cannot say enough for them doing this. We were able to stay at a hotel, that allowed our fifth wheel in parking lot while our tow vehicle was being worked on in the same town. - Gary Fortelney
May 2018 - $89.00
This park is right in Estes Park with easy access to Rocky Mountain National Park. The park is older but the views and location are absolutely amazing. We saw Elk roaming the campground and our site was right on the river. The sites are tight and the price is high but so worth the 2 weeks we stayed. The staff is great and very helpful. We would stay again if visiting the area. - LindaO

The $59 daily rate includes tax for a week's stay. We were really looking forward to this campground. The website certainly indicates a lovely place to stay along the river. First of all, the entrance off Route 66 is a steep one-lane drive, so be prepared. The campground is not very large and it is very congested, so when you get to the bottom of the drive, stop before you go any further. The people who work here are very nice. We were put in site 1, which backs up to the river. We are a 36' motorhome and our back end hung over the river when our front end was in place. Our neighboring travel trailer had to bring in his awning in order for our slide to open. We were lined up in a row with barely any space on either side. We had a cabin on the other side of us. If you enjoy space to spread out, do not come here. There were not many ratings for this park, probably because most of the sites are used by seasonal people. We did get a strong Verizon signal at this campground. Estes Park is a cute town but very congested also in the summer. We would not recommend or come back to this campground, mostly due to the incredibly tight site spacing. - dbcordello
Aug 2014 - $53.00
We chose this park because of the reviews, which are accurate. It's small, crowded, and along a creek, which is only a plus is you are parked by it. The folks in the office are terrific and helpful. The place is pristine clean. Although the location, just outside the national park, is very convenient it is very difficult to get here. We came in from Loveland up 30 miles of winding steep two lane road. Traffic in Estes Park this Labor Day weekend was horrific. Finally, the directions to Paradise are difficult to follow and the street signs in town difficult to read. A tip - come all the way through Estes Park on route 36. Continue all the way out of town almost to the park entrance and go left on CO Route 66. Continue 1/4 mile and left into the driveway, where you will be met by a nice gentleman who will help you squeeze your RV into your space. - Doogiesmom
Jun 2014 - $48.00
Very well maintained campsites with deck and picnic table at each campsite. Very friendly staff and immaculately maintained bathroom, shower and the laundry room. Very reasonable to do laundry at $1.25 to wash and $1 to dry. Additional cost of $3.50 per day is charged for cable hook-up. Stream current is too fast to do any fishing but the sound is very soothing. Entry to and exit from the property was guided by the staff because of the extremely narrow road and the campsites. - gartail

Location..location..location... Great access to the Rocky Mountain National Park, nearby restaurants, and downtown. Pros: Great utilities and cable access Location Mostly level sites Amenities that included a small pond Access to propane Cons: Sites tend to be small Dirt roads Expensive We would stay here again if in the area. - OurNextRVAdventure
Sep 2018 - $62.00
Campground choices in Estes for full hook-up big rigs (we have a 40') fifth wheel) are very limited. The location of this campground is a big selling point as you are on the west side of town and have easy access to the National Park. We were fortunate to be placed in site 9, on the exterior row facing the small fishing lake. Since the sites are pretty close together, we didn't feel penned in and had nice views of the mountains. The water from the spigot had a very musty odor and taste to it. We switched to bottled water for consumption. Also, getting someone to return a call is challenging. We had to change our reservations and I sent several email and left multiple voice mail before someone called me back. They tell you they are serious about the check in time or you get to pay an extra fee. We arrived 30 minutes early and were advised to set up and then return after 1:00 to check in to avoid the fee. We would probably try to research another spot on our next visit, but I have not eliminated Spruce Lake as an option for the future. - The Regans
Sep 2018 - $62.00
Perfect location to enjoy Estes Park and surrounding Rocky Mountain National Park. The sites themselves are not the attraction, and no campground in Estes is better from what we've seen. But, the sites are level, spacious enough for long camper and tow vehicles, and the campground is within minutes of the town, and a few minutes more is the RMNP entrance. Everything is clean and neat and dog friendly. Better wi-fi than many places! - HollyLouise

Sep 2018 - $30.00
Our site was level with central hook ups. However, getting into the site was a challenge. The road was very narrow and uphill with limited turning space. The person who helped us back in was VERY helpful. This park is an older park and not a big rig friendly because of the hills and tight turns. There was no wifi at the site nor did AT &T work. - Al and Anne-Marie
Aug 2018 - $37.00
All Sites Back-In, My site was pretty level. No AT&T phone or data, Dish sat good, CG WIFI comes & goes. CG is on a steep hill & I was at the bottom next to the main road but noise was ok. I only stayed here because of it's close proximity to the Natl Park. - Lugnuts
Jun 2018 - $81.00
The park is just outside Estes Park which makes it convenient for visiting RM NP. The campground backs up onto the side of a hill and the sites are very close together. At our site, there was no over the air TV or radio. No cell phone reception except by walking to the end of the campground highest on the hill. No data service. Campground has wifi for accessing weather and Facebook only. Even that service was very slow and unreliable. - User3641

Sep 2018 - $65.00
Nice location, although if you follow your GPS, you'll wind up going through Estes Park. Go around and take the extra mileage. Office and facilities were nice. That's where the fun ends. To start, TWO PAGES of fine type rules. Tiered sites on a hill with soft dirt roads. The sites are dirt - NOT gravel - dirt and a lot of soft dirt at that. My coach sunk in on the turn into the site. My motorcycle got bogged down in the sand. Dust blowing everywhere. Stayed three days - on day two, they picked up all the picnic tables in preparation for closing - never mind that I paid for that table to be there. If you don't mind soft dirt sites with lots of dust, then this is OK. They also said it was dusty because of drought - not very believable because there wasn't even dry grass between the sites. I can't stress this enough - this place is just one big dirt parking lot with hookups. It is apparent that not very much is invested in site upkeep. We found this place because it has large pull throughs and everyone else was booked but we won't be back. - BigGuy82
Sep 2018 - $65.00
This is a beautiful location right next to the Rocky Mountain NP entrance. Due to closeness to park entrance there was some road noise. Only two negatives about this park, the dust and the very poor wifi. Don't go camping for wifi but, if you advertise you have it then it should work. We have stayed here before and will again, the location is just amazingly beautiful. Service was excellent, staff allowed me to leave my propane bottle, they filled and returned to my site and I didn't pay till I returned. Excellent personal service. Sites are located on a hill so not much level space for sitting outside. - Jack&Wanda
Sep 2018 - $65.00
Everything around Rocky Mountain National Park is pricey. Our site was long enough but not real level. Sewer was way at the rear and we were lucky we had extra sewer hose. I saw one gentleman walking out of the office with a box of new sewer hose! You are literally 5 minutes from the park entrance. The campground is all dirt roads, few trees and very dusty. It was quite windy so we didn't dare open any windows or put out any awnings. It was a perfect spot to visit RMNP but it would be tough to enjoy any outdoor stuff around your rig! Saw a huge playground near the rear of the park with some grass around it. - monamonaco

Sep 2017 - $40.00
We made reservations here in spite of some not-too-great reviews, because the Estes Park Campground at East Portal was full. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the bathrooms and showers are kept clean. The showers are $2 for 6 minutes, which is plenty of time for most people, and the hot water was plentiful. Our site had electric and water hook ups and was one of the sites surrounding a dirt and gravel lot. Unfortunately, when the wind blew, which it did with a vengeance, dust blows! Even with the windows and door closed, our RV was full of dust. There were a couple sites below a small hill that many have been better sheltered from the dust, but the campground needs to be at least covered with gravel or paved. Perhaps there are plans to do that, as the lot looked somewhat like a work in progress. The full hook-up sites were gravel with cement patios but no trees at all. Tent sites were more shaded. All sites have a picnic table and fire pit. The location is great - easy to get to town and Rocky Mt. National Park. There are views of the mountains. There is no WiFi here, but the WiFi was good at the Estes Park Visitor Center. - Eldereaglewatchers
Sep 2017 - $60.00
We missed the turn off because it is not well marked. By the time we saw it we were too late to turn in. Our 5th wheel is 32' and our site was a back in for a 35'. It was an extremely hard back in. There was a drop off in front of many sites, ours included. I doubt a bigger unit would fit. We did not enjoy this campground and will not be returning. - Bax
Jul 2017 - $50.00
Mixed feelings on this campground. First, we found all of the campgrounds in Estes Park to be expensive; this park was no exception. We stayed in a 50amp pull-through site. They had two rows of pull-through sites, probably a total of 20-30 sites in those two rows. We would stay in a pull-through site again however, the back-in sites had zero privacy, so we would not stay in one of those. The pull through sites are gravel with a cement patio, a nice fire pit and a large picnic table. Decent space between sites. No cable. The tent sites looked pretty rough. Amenities: Nice, but very small, pool. Nice playground area for the kids. Bathhouse was very clean. They do charge for showers ($2 for 6 minutes)....that was a new one for us, but we figured that they do this, as so many dry camp in the area and probably come on property, to use the showers. We had no problem with the roads into the campground, fit just fine pulling our 40' fifth wheel. - atlantafamilyof4

This is truly a park that allows you to experience nature at its best. The roads are very narrow so only small trailers under 24 ft are allowed. What a wonderful place to truly enjoy the rockies at their best. Sites are very nicely placed, there is enough foliage to allow for some privacy. Camp hosts were great and were always available with answers to any questions you had. They have added some additional bathhouses which allow for complete privacy for showers. Wonderful choice and we would visit them again on another trip out their way. Loved waking up to all the Elk and deer, very quiet and peaceful. - topsyturvy4
Jun 2018 - $47.00
This campground is a bit hilly, but that affords some good views of the mountains, which we did out the back bedroom window. We were in space A7, with the playground out the back. There was plenty of room between us and the playground, great people watching and the kids didn't have to go through our site to get to the playground. We were here four nights and enjoyed being in a campground that is well-cared for. The park personnel were very considerate, even when they were doing some construction on another site across the way from us. The restrooms were very clean and well kept-up, plenty of room for showering and hooks for clothing, as well as benches. We will definitely come back here again some day. - rvtraveler61
Jul 2016 - $25.00
Wooded with some views. Some sites are close together but we had site A1 which is large and away from the pack. Restrooms could have been larger - only 3 male sit-down for 65 sites. Hilly. Hike out of the campground into rmnp. - adamant

Very busy park, lots of family activities, access in and around the KOA was awkward. We had a site that had an inaccessible picnic table. Very close to downtown and the Rocky Mountain National Park which was great. We were able to park most places fairly easily with our 25' motor home. Very helpful and friendly staff. - danettem
Jun 2018 - $60.00
Campground is close to town and the facilities are well maintained. Clean bathrooms and showers. The sites are very tight and parking is a major headache. There is no room at the site for your tow vehicle and parking availability is limited. Every night when we returned to camp we had to search for a place to park our truck. Would not camp here again, especially after seeing other campgrounds in the area. - Dave3311
May 2018 - $54.00
This was our first time staying at a KOA. The spaces are definitely tight and we knew they would be. But the location was right outside of Estes Park. The staff is super friendly and the bathrooms are spotless. They have different events going on that we enjoyed - a wine tasting one night, an ice cream social another night and a concert another night. We booked a water-electric site and after a few days we were going to go dump at the dump station. We mentioned this to the staff when we happened to ask about getting more propane and they offered their portable dump service for only $10. It was so nice not having to pack up and lock down everything in the camper just to go dump. It was definitely worth the $10 fee! The Wifi was really, really slow if there was any at all. I would recommend tethering to your phone. I woke up at 3am one night and decided to download a library book to read and the internet wouldn't even work at 3am! We went over to the public library to get some work done and their free internet was great. We tried to eat outside at several restaurants with our dog and none of the ones we tried were dog friendly. That was disappointing. So we ended up cooking in for all of our meals. The local Safeway is great! - OurBigAdventure
