KOA right on the edge of Estes Park. Tight maneuvering even for our 27' motorhome but the sites were fairly level. Friendly staff helped us get parked and level. Cable tv was available with about 30 channels. decent reception even though we were out further in our loop. Sites are very close together. We weren't able to extend our awning all the way because of our neighbor's camper. Still overall it was a good site. We camped at Estes Park KOA in a Motorhome.

A shuttle bus stops by the KOA every 20-30 minutes throughout the day. Take the shuttle downtown then take the trolley to shopping and dining. Little need to drive.

We stayed here for a week Jul 22nd to 30th. The spots are very very tight, water pressure was almost to low to take a shower. I was promised a 50 amp site but did not get one of the 2 only on the park. Vehicles park all over the place preventing cars from getting intyto spots. They put most of their efforts in the cabins and not the rv spots. This is the first bad review I have ever given a rv park in my 7 years on the road. I complained about the radios blairing after quiet hours and nothing was done about it. I will not stay here again and advise others to avoid it unless you are getting a cabin. We camped at Estes Park KOA in a Motorhome.

Very busy park, lots of family activities, access in and around the KOA was awkward. We had a site that had an inaccessible picnic table. Very close to downtown and the Rocky Mountain National Park which was great. We were able to park most places fairly easily with our 25' motor home. Very helpful and friendly staff. We camped at Estes Park KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Estes is a lovely town - enjoyed the restaurants along Big Thompson Avenue - the pie shop, the Notchtop had great range of meals and take out food that fit any budget. The visitor center has a number of restaurant menus available as well as info on trails, special events and things to do. The tram is a bargain and worth the wait in line. And add the Stanley hotel as a place to visit to see grand vistas.

Campground is close to town and the facilities are well maintained. Clean bathrooms and showers. The sites are very tight and parking is a major headache. There is no room at the site for your tow vehicle and parking availability is limited. Every night when we returned to camp we had to search for a place to park our truck. Would not camp here again, especially after seeing other campgrounds in the area. We camped at Estes Park KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This was our first time staying at a KOA. The spaces are definitely tight and we knew they would be. But the location was right outside of Estes Park. The staff is super friendly and the bathrooms are spotless. They have different events going on that we enjoyed - a wine tasting one night, an ice cream social another night and a concert another night. We booked a water-electric site and after a few days we were going to go dump at the dump station. We mentioned this to the staff when we happened to ask about getting more propane and they offered their portable dump service for only $10. It was so nice not having to pack up and lock down everything in the camper just to go dump. It was definitely worth the $10 fee! The Wifi was really, really slow if there was any at all. I would recommend tethering to your phone. I woke up at 3am one night and decided to download a library book to read and the internet wouldn't even work at 3am! We went over to the public library to get some work done and their free internet was great. We tried to eat outside at several restaurants with our dog and none of the ones we tried were dog friendly. That was disappointing. So we ended up cooking in for all of our meals. The local Safeway is great! We camped at Estes Park KOA in a Travel Trailer.

The local public library has fast free wifi. The local Safeway grocery store is excellent. Be sure and walk along the creek path - park at the Estes Park Visitors Center and head towards town. We enjoyed the instrument installments and played them every time we walked by!

I camped here for a week with a 30' fifth wheel and a 1-ton diesel truck. The staff helped me back in which I appreciated very much. I left another rv park in Estes park due to horrible wifi and cell(Verizon) service. Both the cell service and wifi are EXCELLENT at this KOA! The staff was a delight to work with, it is a family owned park. I had a propane tank filled here and they were quick and efficient, also advising me to have a new valve put into the tank, which was appreciated! we biked around the nearby lake 2 times, and saw a number of elk both times. We also saw 2 deer in the park one morning. The friendly staff and excellent wifi and cell service are far more important to us than the larger spot at the rv park we left to move here. We cook nearly all our own meals, and it was a bonus not to have to fight traffic to get to Safeway and back without getting into the traffic on the main drag. You can also get into RMNP the back way from the park, avoiding the traffic on the main road. We will be back this fall, the hiking trails in RMNP are the best maintained, and marked trails I have ever seen. If you like dealing with people who care about there guests, this is the rv park for you! We camped at Estes Park KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

If you will be shopping while you are here, don't limit youself to only the stores in the main concentration of stores, we bought several excellent coasters, and prints of extraordinary wildlife scenes for fair prices in 2 of the stores at the very beginning of the main drag. By the way, the camp store is very well stocked for anything you are likely to need!

This campground's location near Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park are what drives the price for staying here. We had read previous members' comments, so we were not surprised by the tight quarters. We knew we would be off the grounds the majority of our stay, so the spacing was not a major concern on this trip. We would stay here again under similar circumstances. Since we were in an RV site, we did not hear a lot of road noise, but if you are staying in a tent, you will hear traffic. Staff was very friendly and helpful, the train for kids was cute, and they offer breakfast and ice cream socials as well as a shuttle, which we did not use. There is so much to do in the area, so if you don't plan on hanging out at the campground you will be fine. Parking can be an issue - we parked in an empty site beside us the first night, thanks to the staff member telling us it would be unoccupied. The next night we had to ask our neighbor if we could back in in front of them, and they graciously agreed. We camped at Estes Park KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

The drive up to the Alpine Visitor's Center on the one-way dirt road was amazingly beautiful, but not for the faint-of-heart! We also discovered a lovely walking path behind the main drag in Estes Park.

This was a rather small KOA. We were welcomed when we arrived and escorted to our site. Staff was very friendly. Bathrooms and showers were older looking but very clean. Sites were gravel but most were flat. Roads are very narrow and not easy to negotiate. Sites were small and very close together. Park is not big rig friendly. Luckily we have a class b so not a problem for us. But if we still had our 45' DP it would have been a different story.

One nice thing is that there is a free shuttle service that picks up right at the KOA. You can ride the shuttles right down town or even up into Rocky Mountain National Park. We camped at Estes Park KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed in our pickup camper and had a great time. The owners and hosts are really nice people who know their jobs. The restrooms were very clean as well as the rest of the property. The families with children enjoyed the free train rides, the ice cream social, karaoke and the log fire for the Friday night marshmallow roast. The onsite breakfast was reasonably priced and tasty. We liked the place so well we made reservations to return later this year. We camped at Estes Park KOA in a Truck Camper.

We were able to get a site on short notice, very kind and helpful staff! Sites were a little close and we couldn't use our awning, no big deal for a one night stay. We only used water and electric. Dump station easy to get to, although we had to drive up on a board to get our camper high enough to use it. Park Showers get busy by 8am so plan accordingly. Nice location as far as getting groceries and shopping in Estes Park, and great views of the mountains. We camped at Estes Park KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Town of Estes Park - both old and new parts - was within 5-6 miles; very enjoyable. Rocky Mountain National Park with beautiful drives and park scenery was close by. Boulder is one hour away; we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Frasca in Boulder - pricy but excellent food, wine, service.

We camped with our two adult kids, their spouses, and 8 grandkids under 9 years of age. We stayed in our truck camper and they each had a tent site on either side of us. This campground is great for a big family get together as they have a wonderful play area for the little ones, a neat and free train ride every evening, a smore's fire on Friday nights, and Ice cream socials on other evenings. The breakfast the campground offered really helped with so many hungry kids every morning. The grandkids cried when they left to go home. The other things to do in Estes Park made everyone happy. We have already made a reservation for September, 2016. We camped at Estes Park KOA in a Truck Camper.

Folks are very nice and accommodating. Sites are really tight. It is next to a riding stable with about 50 horses, so downwind is interesting. If dry, it is very dusty. The cable just change, so one had to ask for a "box" to view. No one told us that until the last day. We camped at Estes Park KOA in a Travel Trailer.
