Nice park with ample room between concrete sites. Outside of the town of Ft. Collins. Good ATT service and open skies for satellite. Store with supplies and souvenirs. Pizza is available on weekends. Lots for kids to do at no cost. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

It's been two years since we were last here and this park, as well as the town of Fort Collins, is still as lovely as it was then. I've nothing but good to say about this park. Pulling in Friday evening was such a joy as we could hear children's laughter and see lots of kiddos ridding around the beautiful property on bikes. The afternoon and evening under the stars felt like a real "kids summer vacation" with lots of parents laughing right along. Sure wish I'd had this experience as a kid and am full of gratitude to be getting it now. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Old Town breakfast at The Silver Grill Cafe. Even during the week, you'll have a 15-30 min. wait. Food is wonderful, service excellent--everyone is happy.

Nice, roomy spaces. Lots of big trees, and some wildlife like birds, squirrels, and rabbits. I was able to get my satellite link working, but in some sites that's probably not possible due to the large trees. Nice lake with walking trail. Ice cream social is excellent. The restrooms are VERY clean. We have a 40' 5'er and had no problem moving around and parking. Lots of facilities for entertaining kids. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This was our second stay at the campground located west of Fort Collins with fairly easy access from the north and access from the east and south through urban driving. All roads to access the campground are paved and fairly wide so it is not difficult from any direction. Roads and sites within the campground are gravel, with some sites having a concrete pad for parking. The CG is nicely maintained with lots of activities for children and families. We drive a 45 foot MH and were able to navigate the park without difficulty. We removed the car at the office when checking in but attached the car at the site when leaving. The sites are fairly close with grass between and level. Utilities are mid site, power was good and water pressure was low at times. Although there are trees around, we were able to get good satellite reception and also several OTA stations. Wi-Fi was often difficult to connect but when we did get on, it worked pretty well. We did not use any of the restrooms or laundry room so cannot comment on those facilities. There is a designated dog park area and plenty of room around the entire campground for walking the dog. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed a week here. Six of the nights in a hot tub site. This park really skimped big time. Even though we still paid $89 a night for the hot tub site, it left a lot to be desired. On the up side I could say that the hot tub did get hot, and there was a patio deck around the spa. Most of the other sites had no patio at all. However, this hot tub was old, and the control panel that had the push buttons to make the spa features work were old and broken. The lights and the jets in the spa didn't work, and the only one that did turned the filter on and off. There was a way too big cover for the top that obviously came off of some other spa, and there was no self chlorinating device in the water, so for six days the hot water was just hot water. The only fence around the spa was a 3' partial white picket fence that provided no privacy from the passing vehicles driving past at night, or even from dog walkers with their flash lights. All of the hot tub sites were on the ends of a row, so cars from 2 different directions lit you up when passing. There was also no way to secure the spa top, so any child passing by could have free access to the water. It made me a little nervous leaving the hot tub unattended while we left to go do errands. The other major down side was that the RV parking pads were cement, but the roads were dirt/gravel, and mostly dirt. The whole week was kind of a dust bowl, either from cars or the numerous KOA golf carts zipping by day and night. Other than that, it did have lots of the usual kids activities, a pool and a small lake. Our on board Wifi worked well, but the park did offer wifi but the neighbors indicated that it didn't work well. The restrooms were acceptable and handicapped accessible. There was a walk/run path around the lake that we used a few times, and was a favorite for dog walkers. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Nice location near town. Friendly, easy spacious check-in. We were informed that due to the heat (95 when we arrived) that they were keeping the pool open. Very nice, and smart! Very dusty dirt/gravel roads. Some sites are shaded, some not and many young employees were out daily trimming trees, removing weeds and generally sprucing up. Playground is enormous, pool was nice, interesting mini golf, bounce pad and arcade were shut down for the season. Large lake for fishing was a welcome amenity and they were removing the paddle boats for the season. Our site was a spa site pull-through and it had lots of room, private, very nice furniture and deck area and a lot of grass. Spa worked great, but they really should replace the cover. Large pavilion with picnic tables, stage and bbq for groups. Pretty large store for a KOA. Laundry (and restrooms) were spotless and the machines were excellent, large commercial types. Nice place overall. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

SO much road construction in the area! Call to find best route in/out. Ace Gillett's Lounge is a very cool jazz club. Intersect Brewery is family/kid friendly. Sheldon Lake City Park is nice and Gelato & Amore is close by. Wanted to check out Fort Collins Museum of Discovery but not enough time.

Maybe the best KOA we've stayed at. Lots of activities available - pool, lake w/ boats, minigolf, walking trails, kid park, etc, etc. Sites are mostly back-in and a little small for big rigs. But there was lots of shade, patios in many and even several with hot tubs at some sites. Restrooms were clean and very available. The people handling reservations (mostly workkampers) were friendly and accommodating to late reservations. Overall an excellent place to stay on the north side of Ft Collins, a very nice little city. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed 11 days here in August. The park is very well run, the help is very good. Sites are not too close. The only downside to this park is the WiFi is non existent. Very hard time getting on when it was even working. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This is a hard review to make. On the one hand, this park has amenities for young families like no place I've seen. On the other hand, for those of us not using those facilities, this park has very oppressive policies. We were here specifically to visit friends we hadn't seen in almost 50 years. We asked the office for a pass so they could visit us on our site for a couple of hours. They wanted $20 for the couple. We are all in our 70s. There's no chance we were going to use their kiddie facilities. They said charging visitors was their policy, could not make exceptions. Their Internet is virtually unusable. For our purposes, we will never return. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Motorhome.

One of the nicest KOAs we've ever stayed in. Typical RV parking but was very clean, neat, organized. Price reflects Cheyenne Frontier Days and was paid up front with no refunds/cancellations. It was about 1 hour to drive to Cheyenne and worked out very well for our visit. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This is one of the most elaborate KOA's we've stayed at- private small lake, long walking path, pickle ball court, pool, peddle go carts, fairly big sites, lots of grassy areas, trees, etc. So why not give it a better review? We've stayed here for several days each of the last 4 years and the Wi-Fi consistently is DOWN! It's ridiculous and the staff can't seem to do anything about it as it's an outside contractor. I think they might consider using another service because we're at the point of not using this park anymore! Cables not great either but that pales next to the Wi-Fi (or lack thereof!) We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Motorhome.

Ft Collins is a great place to eat, drink, and relax but it does take a while going throughout town as the park is on the far north side of town. Horsetooth Reservoir and CSU anc Old Town are convenient and fun to visit

We have stayed here for several years and have noticed the park degrading more each time and the cost to increase. The fee structures dont match the quality you would expect from KOA. Very disappointed and seems like the management/ownership is not a caring or concerned about their customers. Ie.. site was trash ridden and with low hanging branches and made backing up difficult. Too many other campgrounds with higher value towards the customer, we will not stay here again. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Motorhome.

Big park. Unattractive entrance through heavy equipment storage lots. Some asphalt roads, but we were in the back with dirt roads. Glad to be in the back because Mother's Day weekend occurred while we were there. All the kids and activity (noise) was at the front of the park. WiFi worked well considering how busy they were. Used the directions provided by the park which involved a lot of road construction. Easier back ways to get to Fort Collins for shopping and dining. Overpriced (as all KOA's are), so don't know if we'd come back, but our stay there was okay. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Motorhome.
