Jul 2018 - $35.00
This park is right off I70, 35 miles from Vail. No available RV parks in this area anywhere! So we were happy to snag it. That being said, it's pretty rough...electric had low voltage (but we had no trouble), water pressure was terrible and no sewer! It's a base to visit Vail but NO frills, no grass and you MUST cover yourself and RV because the ants would carry you away. Views in all directions were awesome! - Jackie thornton
May 2018 - $38.00
This one of those parks [thankfully, rare] where the staff treats you like an inconvenience rather than a welcome guest. This place is on a river so I guess that's what you are paying for. Water and electric only and, from what I've read, the water may not be usable. I didn't use it. Gravel sites, unlevel, barking dogs late at night and lots of road traffic. Verizon signal OK. Would probably not stay here again. - mockturtle
Apr 2018 - $42.00
Stopped here one night on our way west. Clean campground, and facilities were clean and updated. Not much road noise even though its near I-70. Some sites face the rushing river, but most seem to be taken up by permanent residents. If you arrive at night, there is no lighted signage on the frontage road , so just listen to your GPS and look for some RV's. When we tried to leave the next day, the office was not occupied until 9:00 (no way to pay after hours), and they had problems with their Wi-Fi and tablet, so couldn't pay with card and had to go back to the RV for cash. Wish there was a way to pay after hours (night deposit & envelopes, camp host, etc.). - Fitzjohnfan

Sep 2016 - $20.00
One of my favorite campgrounds, even though there are no hookups. It is extremely scenic, and there is a hiking trail around the lake. Sites are far from each other, and there is no light pollution. This lake and campground are amazing! - OffroadGirl
Sep 2016 - $25.00
Beautiful park, particularly with the Fall colors starting. Lake was very clean and great for fishing, paddleboarding, and kayaking. There's a short trail that goes around the lake that makes for a nice hike as well. The sites near the lake are set up like sardines, but still very nice as there is a large grassy area between the lot and the lake (and you are on the lake!). The sites in the rest of the campground are quite a bit more spacious and private and likely preferable for most. The nicer bathrooms are over in the loop as well whereas the ones near the lake are vault toilets and not all that nice. - Dog hair stuck in the couch
Jun 2016 - $9.00
Sites fill up fast and are kind of close together, but that would not stop me from camping here again. Looks like a great place for a family reunion or picnic too with lots of day use potential. I am not sure if you can reserve a spot here, but if you can, it would be on the recreation.gov site that offers all reservable sites in Colorado and other areas. - Forest Service

May 2012 - $5.00
This is your basic, six-site campground. Not too clean, but serviceable. Sites are a tight go, even for a 32 foot Class A. Virtually no maintenance, but the pit toilet area was clean. Lots of boaters and fisherman frequent the area. Near the Interstate and Highway 6, so expect lots of traffic noise. Location is beautiful, near the Eagle River. - Red Wolf Deux
Sep 2009 - $10.00
Easy access from I-70. No facilities, three spaces will fit a 40' RV. Right on a trout stream. Fire rings, picnic tables and grills. Some highway noise, but not much at night. 50% off for senior access pass. Near Edwards, Colorado that has a dump station and fresh water right near the exit. Site #6 is the most level for a big rig and at the end of the campground. If there is someone occupying the end spot a big rig could not turn around, and would have to back out. There is an unattended money drop at the campground. - steved44

Jun 2018 - $42.00
We did not read the website info as closely as we should have. This is a ranch that has many amenities for guests including a wine bar, cabins and some food until 3pm. But it has only ten RV sites which they rightly bill as "RV Parking" as the sites have only 30 amp electric. No water or plumbing at the sites - a spigot is in walking distance but not easy for rig access. Spots are interfaced with tent campers. It is set up for keeping people busy and entertained at the ranch but seems new to the whole RV idea. OK for an overnight stay but if water and plumbing are necessary, go elsewhere. We were evacuated due to fire so did not actually stay overnight. People were friendly but would not recommend unless you need to just park for the night. - danettem

Nov 2018 - $80.00
Great location, but extraordinarily noisy from the train traffic all time of the day and night. Sewer not convenient, so an extension is probably necessary. The gravel was hard to walk on and almost impossible for bicycles. (There is a superb paved trail just outside, not to miss) This place is easy bicycling distance from the Glenwood Springs pool. Poor interior layout and shares the area with rafters, rafting and an underwhelming restaurant. - DustyBob
Oct 2018 - $52.00
This place is down in the canyon, right next to the Colorado river. There is no TV signal, and AT&T cell service was ok but not great. It was a very pretty location, and it's probably a nice place if you go in summer or winter. Seemed a bit pricey, but this was as close as we could find to Aspen on reasonably short notice, even in shoulder season. The place has a ton of speed bumps, and it's very much disconnected from the rest of civilization, even though the rest of the town is only a short drive away. - Anthony D
Oct 2018 - $55.00
We were not impressed at all. Service was horrible. The RV campground could be much better considering the Colorado River is right there and hills around the canyon. First their credit card machines weren't working, causing some "miscommunications" about what had been paid toward the deposit. But their voicemail messages were not clear about who they were or what they wanted, causing some problems related to our reservation. Then we waited 10 minutes at check-in while the 2 registration people, alone in their small office/store, reorganized the ice cream and soda machines in front of us instead of checking us in. Surely even one person could have acknowledged me? The campground area is mostly gravel with small shade trees separating a concrete patio and table. Its okay, but not the quality of other similar campgrounds at this cost, even though we were off-season. The Colorado River is right at the perimeter of the campground a hundred feet down from the big rig area. They don't do a good job of making it viewable or accessible from this upper campground, such as a nice walking trail along the side, which would be relatively easy and inexpensive I think. In fact the view to the river was separated by a bus and utility vehicle parking area. They even charged $5/day for our dog but didn't even provide a dog park or any level walking area that we could find except on gravel. Restrooms were old and dirty with stained bare concrete floors. Toilets and urinals were damaged or inoperable. Restrooms were not up to the quality you would expect that this price. Wifi was non-existent except in the laundry room. The only redeeming part was the nice campground area for tents and smaller RVs at the bottom along the river. - EVO_Bob

Aug 2016 - $45.00
I ended up here for 2 nights because of a screwed up reservation at another campground. Very expensive campground with little to offer. Road noise is present most of the time. Wifi was okay but dropped quite a few times. My Verizon signal was poor. The electricity voltage was low: dropped as low as 107 but never got higher then 112.
Over the air TV stations came in fine during the day but half dropped out at night. (They no longer have cable.) There are mostly permanents and seasonal campers here. Maintenance appears to be nonexistent as there was leaves from last year blowing around ,as well as twigs and small branches from the trees. - jnateg
Aug 2016 - $45.00
Initially it was difficult to "see" beyond the MANY awful permanent resident RVs that were visibly in VERY poor condition and VERY run down - initially it was very uncomfortable. Have never before seen a park that allows permanent residents' RVs to be such eye-sores, however, if you can get beyond the initial shock, which we eventually did, the water, sewer, and electrical were a-ok as was the location for exploring the Aspen area. - God Bless America
Jun 2016 - $4.00
We could not have been more disappointed. Out campsite was small, not shaded, on dirt with very little grass, no ability to make a fire, the wifi was minimal or didn't work at all, and it was a distance still from Aspen (to have Aspen in the title is very misleading). Would never stay there again. - Tom Armelino

Sep 2014 - $20.00
Dump station additional $7 and must get a key from the Maud Campground host. Peaceful and quiet with only the sound of rustling aspen trees or an occasional jet airplane. Change - now can be reserved online, which we did not do. So we could only pay for one night at a time, which was not a problem when we stayed after Labor Day weekend. Made private by small trees and bushes, the large gravel sites - some are more open to the sun, with beautiful views to the lake. Others sites further up the hill are shaded in the trees. Most sites are not level front to back due to the hillside location of the campground. Nearby fishing access to the Gold Medal Waters of the Frying Pan River (special regulations). No Verizon phone and MiFi connections. We will return. - AluminumCloud
Sep 2013 - $18.00
One of my favorite places. Although the maturing trees have been closing in my view to the lake, I enjoy sitting out in this campsite. The pines are deeply blue green, the aspens rustle in the smallest cool breeze, and the babbling brook meanders down the campsites tucked into the bubbly vista. The road into the White River National Forest is gravel and continues into the campgrounds and campsites. Little Maud campground is close to the Reudi Reservoir and many boaters camp there. Mollie B campground is the next campground and has access to the lake. Just down from the campgrounds gold medal trout waters flow and are fed from the bottom of the lake. We will return. - AluminumCloud
Jun 2013 - $18.00
Little Mattie is one of 3 campgrounds on the western end of the Reudi Reservoir along the Frying Pan River. There are no hookups at these campsites.Water is available at Mollie B campsite. This is dry camping at its best; sites are nestled in the aspen groves at the base of rock outcroppings and well worth the drive around the bend beyond the other two campgrounds. Vault toilets are the only amenity and well kept and cleaned. Space between each site provides privacy and our favorite was site 16. Big rigs could not fit in here. You can run your generator for power. Drawback to this campground is that it is run by a company in California, not the Forest Service. There is an extra $7 fee to use the dump station and the camp host has to be there to unlock it. Overall, a wonderful place to camp while enjoying the fantastic fishing on the Pan River and the charming town of Basalt. - The Grizz

Jul 2016 - $11.00
We had been up here camping a year before but stayed at the Little Mollie. I loved BOTH campground for their beauty and this beautiful lake. My husband loves to fish the Frying Pan, and I have a kayak I like to take on the lake, so it works out great.
Our first nights site was not very nice, no good place for our friends tent, no shade, but it still was pretty and we made it work. However, having let the host know that we didn't have a reservation for the second night, he showed up while we were eating breakfast and said we could stay if we moved up the road 3 sites.. This one turned out to be a gorgeous site, and we had a fantastic stay. - Phyllis Swenson
Jul 2010 - $18.00
This is one of 3 parks at Ruedi Reservoir which is on the Fryingpan River about 15 miles from Basalt. It is close to the boat launch area and loaded with kids on summer weekends. There are a few water spouts in the camp, but the only hose comparable source is at the dump station. The use of the dump station requires an extra fee of $6 and it is quite difficult to access due to sharp turns and poor paving. - bugsy

Jun 2018 - $30.00
Stayed a week to tour the area. Ok for a place to sleep at night. Near a trail. Beautiful View of Mt Sopris. Everything is as advertised but the WiFi was very weak and most times unusable. We were parked near the entrance and the signal got better the closer you got to the bathrooms. No cable tv but you can get local CBS and Fox with antenna. The bathrooms are clean but the showers were on demand hot water which made you constantly need to depress the water valve for flow. The park is very near the quant downtown are of Carbondale. The public transit station is within a 10minute walk and there is a shuttle between Glenwood Springs and Aspen with stops along the way. Eliminates fining parking especially in Aspen. While there drive the West Elk Loop as well as the drive to Leadville over Independence Pass. - Mainlygoing
Jul 2017 - $35.00
While we were welcomed by very friendly camp hosts who were knowledgeable about the area, the park itself left a lot to be desired. We stayed here in 37' 5th wheel. Our site was wide and spacious with one shade tree. The entire parking and walking surface throughout the park is filled with large, sharp, fill rocks; making it very difficult to ride a bicycle out of, and painful for my dogs to walk on.
The Rio Grande bicycle trail is adjacent to the park and down the hill is the boat ramp. The dust from the parking lot coated the mountain air. There are no actual trails inside of the park or laundry facilities. The water pressure was deplorable and it got very old listening to semi trucks come down the hill using their jake brakes at all hours of the night and day. We left a week early and will not return. I can see using this park as a one night stop over but other than that, I would move down the road to something else. - RVLife4us
Jun 2017 - $25.00
The campsites are close together but not ridiculously close. Gravel sites. We opted for the WE site, but there are FHU occupied by big rigs. Well maintained shower (although you have to hit the water button 20 times until it heats up). The max length for WE sites is 24 ft, and we are 24ft, there is a cliff behind these sites, so if you are longer and not careful.... - Timeking

Oct 2018 - $40.00
This park is built on the side of a pretty steep hillside. It's kind of dicey getting around inside the park. I have a 32' foot class A with a tow and I wouldn't want to try it with anything larger. The park has its charms but it's just kind of tattered. The driveways have mostly asphalt on them but are very rutted, patched and uneven. The site pads are gravel. We had a full hookup, pull-thru site with 50amp electric. For some reason, the sewer connection is located all the way at one end of the site well away from the water and electric. In order to get satellite we had to be forward in the site so could not reach the sewer even with two sections of sewer hose. The site had a large tree loaded with some kind of hard berry(?). They constantly dropped on the roof with a loud pop. The free WiFi was good and quite reliable. The restrooms were "rustic" but OK. - Coopsecondact
Aug 2018 - $50.00
Spent two nights here and if you are a mountain goat to get to the showers would be fun but as a 69 year old not so much. Seemed like an ok place to stay. Lots of long term campers. Missed military discount in book and when I asked about it was told that only the manager can give it and they weren't there. Probably would not return. - Sandygranny
Jun 2018 - $40.00
Overnight stop right off of I70. Part of the campground looked like perm sites. Overall it was a good one night stop. Staff was friendly. - 4n6
