Torn in two directions.....very nice "stopover"....clean spacious sites, easy in and out, full service without cable. The restrooms and showers are at a tourist information center across the street, which appeared well maintained. If you need a way station this is it! We camped at Pony Express RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Don't turn into the information station. If you are sitting in front of it, your destination is on the right....sign is hard to see but that office building that looks closed is it....campground entrance is on right side of parking lot.

We weren't expecting much out of the Pony Express and RV Park in Julesburg Colorado, we were just looking for a park less than 200 miles from Aurora Colorado on the way to Lincoln Nebraska for a short stop. Like we said we weren't expecting much and the park delivered what we expected. Our GPS devices brought us right to the park although we had trouble finding it on one of them. Since it was right across the street from the Colorado Welcome Center we input that location. When we got there there was no discernible office so we called and was told to pick a site, the 50a sites are at one end of the row. The owner of the park runs the Welcome Center so we got settled and went there and paid for 2 nights. Everything is gravel except for the grass that you have to drive on to get into the pull-thrus. The hookups were convenient and we had a great line of sight for our roof mounted satellite dish. We think that since we were so close to the Colorado Welcome Center and to I-76 we had real good Verizon 4g and cellphone reception. This a no frills park with no wifi so we were glad for the good Verizon coverage. The park and the area is probably best for a short stay. We camped at Pony Express RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed 1 night. Grass and dirt lots. Fairly level. Place was locked when we got in about 5:20 pm. Manager waved us over and told us to park where we wanted, she would be back later. Cable doesn't work. Did get wifi code, when she came to collect the money for space. No trees, or facilities. Sure not worth the price. Don't think we will stay here again.

Nothing to do here. There is 1 road that is a semi circle. Manager/owner is nice and friendly. Lots of room for improvement. We camped at Pony Express RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed for one night passing through. That is about all you can do here. Easy access. Across street from Colorado welcome center. Interstate noise was minimal. Area is sparsely populated as mentioned in other reviews, so do not expect much. There is a store on site but it was never open during our stay. Upon our arrival (in the middle of the day) the office and store was locked and empty. The manager (nice guy) dropped by several hours later after we chose our own spot and said "That's how we do it around here! Just pick your own spot." Sites were dirt/grass and level. Hook-ups were fine. There are very few spaces at this campground and not all have 50 amp, so you are very limited on site selection. It's an open field with some hookups arrayed in a u-shaped pattern. There is no shade and on a Colorado summer day it became quite warm. Despite this, there was plenty of room and the kids had a great time with open fields and grass to run around in. WiFi was listed, but we were never given a code nor used it. There are no facilities to use. No pools or playgrounds. The welcome center across the street had 24-hour restroom access which I found easy enough to use. I felt it was a bit pricey for what you got here. But that being said, there was some attraction to being out in the middle of nowhere with hardly anyone around. I would stay again, my family probably would not. We camped at Pony Express RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is okay for a 1-2 night stop, especially considering where it is. I stayed 2 nights, since the next available site with hookups is quite a distance.

The "park" is basically a loop of grass/gravel sites behind a store that never seems to be open. Call ahead and the owner will meet you. It's high plains country, sparsely populated, so don't expect "resort" maintenance. Hookups seem to work well, power is actually a full 120 volts. I was able to get level with a little back and forth. Not sure if the WiFi really works, but AT&T reception seems okay.

It looks like there are a couple of semi-permanent trailers, and 2-3 overnighters each day, but I rarely saw anybody, peaceful day and night. Owner is friendly. We camped at Pony Express RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you need gas, drive into Julesburg, about 2 miles, where gas is about 25 cents a gallon cheaper than at the exit. There's not much else in town, but there is a grocer that I didn't check out.

Stayed here one night, and that was too much. Avoid this place if you can. Poorly run, grass sites with poor hook-ups. No facilities. Honestly, you would be better off staying in the parking lot of the visitors center across the road. We camped at Pony Express RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is an older park undergoing renovation. Easy access from I-76. Convenience store on site. 20 spaces and 4 with 50 amp. No shower or restroom but they are planned. Gravel roads, grass pads. Cable TV connection available but need to call local cable company to activate. Friendly lady is the manager/owner. I will stay here again when in the area. We camped at Pony Express RV Park in a Motorhome.
