Small clean city park in a rocky valley next to a bubbling stream. OK access from the south (Boulder/Denver). Lots of city roads and stoplights to get in from the north and out to the east, which was our route. No wifi. Water/Sewer/50A at the back corner. Never saw the park staff but didn't need them. ReserveAmerica added a $10 online reservation fee. Ouch. We camped at Lyons Meadow RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This place was very recently refurbished, and it's a really pretty, smaller park. You get the mountains in the backdrop, and fall is really beautiful here. The park has tons of amenities and things for kids to do. The city put a LOT of money into this place, and it's super walkable to cool things in town like the original Oskar Blues Brewery. It's not far from Boulder either. The camp host was exceptionally nice, and while the spot we initially reserved would up being more difficult to navigate (the sewer connection was just too far back), he quickly switched us to another spot that was a lot better. We were in spot 4, and you get really pretty views, whereas 12 was backed up to the trees (you wouldn't be able to see as much), and the sewer connection was next to the fence. AT&T cell service was good, but they don't have Wi-Fi. We really enjoyed this place and would recommend it to others. We paid $530 for 14 days. It wasn't busy in October. We camped at Lyons Meadow RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This RV Park has been completely rejuvenated after a terrible flood. New sites have been made. Unfortunately the price to stay here has escalated so that the park is no longer good value. All the sites are back-in. In half the sites, trees prevent getting satellite reception. Management seems unaware of the desire of many to get satellite TV reception, so all the sites backing up to the trees are filled while the more open spots are empty. There are rules against using charcoal barbecue except in the awkward pits provided by the park (Only one nearby for the motor home people.) We used to like this park, but because of the price and the problems with TV reception, we are unsure if we will stay there again. We camped at Lyons Meadow RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This city park is right in downtown Lyons and was wiped out by a flood in 2013. Most of the town was damaged also. So the city rebuilt the entire park. Group shelters, picnic, tent site, restrooms, showers are all new. There are only 17 RV sites with full hook ups, more tent sites. This park stays full. Locals flood the park on weekends with soccer games and other activities. All roads in the park are dirt so with a lot of activity the dust flies so you have to keep doors and windows closed. No WiFi or cable. The rates are up there with nicer RV parks where these services are provided. But the city can charge these rates because there is no competition in the area. On top of that they only take cash or check as payment. That's just weird in this day and time. The camp hosts were super nice and helpful. We were next to them for three weeks and saw how hard they worked. The city feels they need to charge for a lot of things; the park parking lots have a electronic parking machine where visitors pay like $5 for four hours, showers are coin op. Most disturbing, the city will totally rent out the entire park to groups that allows this group to totally run the park for their group for a period of time. The park hosts have to move out during this time. Locals are banned from this city park during this time. Makes you wonder what's going on during this time. Weekends and summer traffic in Lyons is heavy with people headed and returning from Estes Park. All in all, this was the most unusual park we have stayed at, but we made the best of it. The City of Lyons is in the tourism business big time so they need to step up and up grade their services. We camped at Lyons Meadow RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

A small park owned by the Town of Lyons. This RV park and adjacent city park was completely rebuilt after devastating floods three years ago. The town has spent over $8 million on the rebuild. Very clean bathrooms.

A limited number of sites with full hook-ups are available. They are all level and no pull throughs.

This park is now open all year. A creek runs around 3 sides of the city park and looks good for fishing but we didn't try. 20 miles to Estes Park via Hwy 36.

Management is friendly and conscientious. We camped at Lyons Meadow RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

It was the closest park to Estes Park that was open in the late fall that was accessible since Hwy 34 is closed for a major rebuild.

This is a FHU city park. The sites are very, very close, I was between to class a's and my 5th wheel slide out almost touched theirs. No room for awning or anything else. There was no picnic table of course no room for one. The sites were level, but short. At this time its a cash or check operation no credit cards. The host did take me to the site and directed my backing. As for tv do not plan on watching much you do get a few. We camped at Lyons Meadow RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful park, only partially recovered from a devastating flood in 2013. It has water, sewer, electric on very tight sites. Our shady area is adjacent to our neighbor's sewer hookup. The upside is that is the only RV park near Boulder with utilities and is in the center of a charming old town. Interesting restaurants with organic food and craft beers are within walking distance. Utilities are new and adequate. Over-the-air TV is adequate. We thought we had a reservation, but the host seemed surprised. There was room and he allowed us to choose. There are no site numbers, and access to St.Vrains river is fenced off with Do Not Enter. But grassy park areas, and beautiful cliffs make this a hidden gem. In addition to the site fee, the city asks for donations to help rebuild. I hope the city can get the funds to finish the job. We camped at Lyons Meadow RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

As previously stated it is a small campground and if you have pop outs then would be very tight. All gravel, no grass, no picnic tables, no fire pit, just gravel. To the west of the pull in sites there are sites for tents and there must have been two dozen squeezed in. The showers/toilets must be at the far end of the park. But in torrential rain I didn't make that journey. There were two porta-johns, not sure if the camp hosts are responsible but they were trashed inside. One was so bad that stuff was on the floor in front of the actual toilet. Most disgusting situation for a porta-john. Good news is the town has a visitor center a block east, closer than the bathrooms in the park, which are fine. Did get one bar on Verizon but it was weak LTE and sometimes switched to a roaming connection. Won't go back. Just wasn't a whole lot of fun. And at $35 you should expect more. We camped at Lyons Meadow RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We have stayed here several times over the past few years, but doubtful we will return. The scenery is great and the town is eclectic fun, but the campground is the tightest ever. You are literally sandwiched one foot from the RVs on both sides. Awnings and slides nearly touch. The only site with room is on the end and every time we have been here someone has glommed on it for weeks. It was clearly designed for small travel trailers with no slides, even though you can squeeze others in. It is a challenge backing in and getting out. As with most recreation areas in the area it is swamped on the weekends. Because it is the only RV park in the area they get $35/night, which is a bit much for such a tiny and cramped facility. We camped at Lyons Meadow RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very small city run campground just outside Boulder, CO. It is gravel and adjoins a small city park with shower and bathroom facilities. The showers are coin operated. The park has nice play areas and picnic areas. Weekends are extremely busy with lots of families using the park and campground. Reservations are a must. This is a very basic campground but the only one we could find around Boulder,CO with space available. The staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed a week and would return again. We camped at Lyons Meadow RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.
