Site on the upper level so it was a walk to the showers. Nice pool and hot tub but they were closed for the season even though it was 90 degrees. Huge rec room. Located at the turnoff for Mesa Verde NP so if you're coming from the east don't trust your gps as it will have you turning off 5 miles too soon. I have a Garmin gps and when coming from the east you pass thru Mancos where mine had me turn off on the Frontage Rd. At the Mesa Verde np exit, Ancient Cedars CG is also on a Frontage Rd. GPS can lead you astray. We camped at Ancient Cedars Mesa Verde RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Take a guided tour of Mesa Verde NP as it is a lot more educational than doing it on your own. It's a little bit of travel but check out Aztec Ruins and other attractions nearby.

We stayed at this rv park because it was right outside of the Mesa Verde National Park. We needed full hook up and the National Park Campground only had dry camping available on Memorial Day Weekend. The park was nice, had great view of the mountains. Showers and restrooms were quite far away from our campsite. The Hot Tub was very refreshing. Cell service for both Verizon and ATT was non existent. If we were lucky we could only get text messages. If you need full hook up and are visiting Mesa Verde NP this is the campsite for you! We camped at Ancient Cedars Mesa Verde RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

I hate to post this review because I don't want everyone to swarm it. This place is awesome, The owner is the nicest person you'll probably ever meet. She bent over backwards to fit us in and accommodate us. The park has the best 1/2 acre dog park that I've seen. It has a swimming pool, mini golf, horse riding and a hot tub. The Wifi isn't that great but, you're camping, so unplug and don't worry about that. We were in a 5th wheel in the back section. This is a nice rustic park across the street from Mesa Verde NP. Loved it and will go back. We camped at Ancient Cedars Mesa Verde RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Go to the Buffet at the Casino near Cortez. Great food, best pork chops and prime rib.

Management is friendly and helpful at this small park catering to area tourists. Tourism drives bookings, so be prepared for crowded conditions, higher prices during the summer season and tent campers. This all said, during the summer tourist season, having reservations at ANY AREA RV Park may be an advantage. Here are some of the things we liked: A pleasing view, proximity to Mesa Verde National Park, on-site propane sales for chilly mornings, good-tasting water, nearby dumpster serviced frequently, International Dark Sky light restrictions (stunning views of firmament). Here's what we didn't like: Crowded sites, tent camping allowed, variable to low water pressure, no trees in the pull through site area, no working Wi-Fi despite 3 park constructed Wi-Fi towers (personal Verizon only worked in the morning hours), doubling of prices during summer (monthly rate of $541 went to $1,000) and no inside seating at laundry facility. We camped at Ancient Cedars Mesa Verde RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an okay stop for a day or two (which is what most people do). We stayed a month and this was clearly unusual, according to management.

Overall Rating:

Nice, quiet, well-managed campground. We camped here in a fifth wheel and stayed in the "big rig" section. The sites were sufficiently long and level. However, they were so narrow that the adjacent sewer connection was next to our picnic table. The laundry was clean. The "resort" tag fits this park as there is a pool, hot tubs, a grill deck, and miniature golf course. We didn't use any due to the lateness in the season. The views from the campground are great. This campground is located just across the 160 highway from Mesa Verde National Park. The digital TV service worked well; there are lots of TV stations to choose from. The park's wi-fi service was poor. The park is located so far out of town that Version data service was very poor. So we had virtually no internet access. If visiting this area in the future, we'd seriously consider a park closer to the town of Cortez where Verizon data service is better. We camped at Ancient Cedars Mesa Verde RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Was here for a rally. Most sites are level. Verizon signal was horrible and the wifi was unusable. Nice huge dog run. Our site was easy to get in and out of. Community fire pits in various locations. Beautiful views and starry nights. Campground was quiet in the evening but noisy during the day from the traffic driving up the road next to it. We camped at Ancient Cedars Mesa Verde RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The obvious attractions. Take the hour drive to Aztec NM to see the ruins there. Jimmer's BBQ in Cortez is delicious!

We loved this campground! It was so convenient to Mesa Verde it made sightseeing very easy. This campground had everything we needed. We had a great site with a lovely view of Mesa Verde, laundry facilities, extremely clean, and a great pet area. Staff was friendly and professional. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend this campground. We camped at Ancient Cedars Mesa Verde RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Free WiFi, Tengo, this was good. HD on the antenna was very good. The staff was friendly and we where lucky to have a pull thru with a million dollar view on the entrance of Mesa Verde. The sites are gravel, very tight to your neighbor and you have to watch the tight turns, it worked well for us no problem. If you want to visit Mesa Verde, it is across the entrance. Great clubhouse. Sure a place to check out. Very quiet at night. NO TRAINS. We camped at Ancient Cedars Mesa Verde RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Check in was easy, gravel roads and spaces. We had rain and snow when we we there and mud in the gravel was a bit of an issue at the sites for dirty shoes. Overall it is a great place with good amenities and a half acre dog run. Verizon signal was weak there and I could not get the wifi to connect. Great views from everywhere in the park. Nice, quiet Park on frontage road, across Hwy 160 from Mesa Verde entrance. Level, gravel, pull-through sites with great views. Good TV reception and working WiFi. Washer/dryers were outside, but clean & in working order. Large, fenced dog run, plus plenty of "grassy areas" to walk them. Friendly, new Owners are renaming this park "Ancient Cedars @ Mesa Verde RV Resort." We would stay here again. We camped at Ancient Cedars Mesa Verde RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice staff. Park is clean but pricey. Sites are right next to each other with no room with slides out. If you have slides on both sides you may want to go elsewhere. Other than that we had a good stay. We camped at Ancient Cedars Mesa Verde RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Gravel sites with a wonderful view of Mesa Verde Park! The view and convenience commands the rating. Close to everything Mesa Verde and is better than being in the Park. This park needs some maintenance, but not serious and is for sale. There were no activities going on in the hall, but it seemed to be a friendly atmosphere. Very friendly people and a nice campground. We were in the back lot which is elevated, so we had great views and clear access for our internet satellite, and the sites are large enough for big rigs with no problem. The sites are all gravel, however, with no grass to speak of and, although the sites are large enough, they feel too close together. They have farm animals and lots of activities for children. All in all we liked this campground a lot and would stay here again. They are Passport America but we didn't know until after we left, so didn't get the discount. Also if you don't have specified directions, it's helpful to know that you reach the campground from the Mesa Verde Park exit -- it's actually on the frontage road and not on the highway itself. We camped at Ancient Cedars Mesa Verde RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
