Traveling in a 38 foot coach we stayed 4 nights in a site for big rigs. Even tho it is all grave the Garden of the Gardens RV Resort is a very clean and friendly rv park. The bath houses were always clean. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Minutes from Garden of The Gods. We have a 37 foot rv with an attached toad in a pull-thru. Our site also had trees on both sides and plenty of space between rigs! We had no problems with our satellite. If you have a dog there is ample area to walk your pet but not much grass. If you are looking for a quiet and clean park where you can sit outside and relax... go here. We enjoyed our stay, and would go back. - JDC10
Sep 2018 - $53.00
Site was sloped back to front enough that I had to block up the front tires to keep them from hanging in the air. Lady at front desk said the construction was supposed to complete at the beginning of summer. They had just finished the asphalt on Columbia drive the day before we left. Still no asphalt into the main entrance to park. Still using exit to Pike Peak Ave. as both entrance and exit. - Tom 573
Sep 2018 - $60.00
Stayed 7 nights in a 43' motorhome. Major construction underway blocking main entrance. Called for best directions the day before and told to enter through EXIT from "W Pikes Peak Ave". Attendant on golf cart was waiting for arriving guests and escorted to PT FHU site N03. Interior roads are paved but tight to navigate for BIG Rigs. Mix of back-ins and PT sites. Premium sites, head-in, have a level concrete pad facing main road construction. Neighbors are very close and our slide went over the neighbors table. Site was not level front-to-back. CG is all gravel, some shade, no cable and few OTA channels. ATT service spotty as was WIFI. Dog park has bags and is all gravel. CG is located close to many attractions which made it convenient. Office interior/lounge is beautiful with pool table. There is a good arcade room. If in area probably will not stay here again. - RTM

Access to the park is good. there is an arrow on their fence that is not pointing to the park entrance that could be misleading other than that the signage is good. Check in was quick and informative. I had read some reviews prior to our arrival so I knew the sites were tight and they were correct. Wow! Not an inch to spare and we were placed in the "wider" side because we have opposing slides. Our site, 20 was barely long enough for our 28 foot coach and just exactly wide enough so that our slide was not over top of our neighbors patio. It was level and did come with the required utilities. Cable and Wifi worked well as did everything else. There are a lot of full timers here for the winter but all units were neat and orderly. This park is in close proximity to the main attractions in the area thus they can command a premium price. This park delivered all that was advertised and did a good job doing it. We paid $49.96 per night inc tax with a G S discount. We feel we received good value and would return if in the area. - Rollin Ollens
Aug 2018 - $60.00
Originally planned on staying at Pikes Peak CG for one night but extended it to three. Great location right by Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, Manitou Springs. The girls in the office were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Wifi was excellent. The sewer tap is right on the property line up against your neighbor's patio; electrical pedestal was easily accessible. There was construction going on in the front part of the park where it appears a fenced dog area was being added. Very nice place. Only downsides were the price ($60.00/night) and the size of the sites. Some storms blew through the first night and the large tree next to me dropped some small dead limbs onto the roof of my travel trailer as well as my neighbors. The trees really should be better maintained. Overall, a great little park staffed by some very friendly people. - rcknrbn

There are many dumpy parks in the area for those who are just simply looking for a place to park to enjoy the sites of Colorado Springs. This is not one of those parks. It is very tight getting in, so before coming here, you better know how to drive your rig. However, if you don't, the staff will help you. Site was a little slanted left-to-right. However, W/E/S all worked well. Cable here was the best of any park as they had over 30 channels available. Bathrooms were cleaned daily. Park is a quarter mile from Garden of the Gods which we found out on the last day of our stay. Sites were shaded with a nice view of the mountains coming out of the park. Also had a small trail next to the park for dog walking. Staff was one of the best I've encountered. A bit hipster, but very funny and extremely helpful. A bit pricey, but it goes with the territory as every park in the area - even the dumpy ones - charge a premium. Absolutely would stay here again. Marijuana is legal in Colorado. However, this park does not allow marijuana smoking outside of your rig, and they will throw you out if you do so. I found this to be one of the main selling points of coming here. However, if you do want to smoke, find another park. - RLT1

Sites were very close but we had room for our slides and awnings. Picnic table was on a concrete patio but, due to the narrowness of the sites, it was impossible to avoid driving over the patios and most of them were broken up to some extent. The entire park was sand and, as mentioned in other reviews, there was no place with grass to walk the dogs without going outside the park onto the bike/hiking path. The laundry was very nice with 6 each washers and dryers, all in good working condition and clean. They picked up trash at the site every morning or it could be carried to the dumpster at the entrance. No fires are permitted but there is a grill stand at each site. We had to unhook our truck and parallel park behind the camper. They make a point of raking and cleaning each site when someone pulls out. The homeless people who hang out at the entrance to the park are careful not to enter park property so there's not much the park can do about them. - SandyA
Aug 2017 - $47.00
Previous reviews spot on. Cramped sites, clean and shaded, cracked and disintegrating concrete slab for picnic table. Entire park small gravel and dirt, mud and puddles when it rains. No place in park to walk dogs. Have to go outside of park to concrete walkway with grassy sides. Homeless folks hang around outside park. Didn't see any signs of security. Owner was very nice and friendly. - Phoenixbird
Jul 2017 - $43.00
This park would rate an excellent for location only. It is convenient to many attractions. But the place itself is not very appealing. There are multiple transients that hang out just outside the gate and near the fast food restaurants at entrance. Some of them live under the bridge and along the creek. The laundry facilities rate only a satisfactory. The showers and restrooms are not acceptable. In both men's showers and one of the women's showers, you could not control the water temperature and it was HOT. In the other ladies bathroom, there was no place to hang your clothing except inside the shower stall. So I put my clothing inside a kitchen trash bag and hung it in the shower. Many sites are long term residents. - Mary Sch

A small RV park along Rt 24 between Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs. This makes it convenient to local attractions. The park is right off 24 so there is constant loud traffic noise. Sites are extremely close, yet they squeeze large motorhomes and 5th wheels in. Slides almost go post to post - there is no outside living space at all, rather hardly room to walk between rigs. Restrooms are clean. However, the multiple showers use one or two common dressing stalls where clothing and personal items must be kept together if others are showering. This is a last resort campground when there are no other options. - EVO_Bob

Camped here in 2015 because we didn't know any better. Camped here in 2017 because every other CG within 20 miles of the city was booked. First Impression: Pictures on the CG's web site are extremely misleading. This is a small, old, uninspiring, very cramped CG. Safety: Surrounded by residential communities. We took security precautions. Access: Take US-24 west from I-25 to 26th street. Turn left then another immediate left behind O'Reillys auto parts. CG sign visible from US-24. Garmin GPS is accurate. Office: Friendly staff. No store. Credit cards accepted. Online reservations not available. Good Sam price discount. Facilities: No pool, spa, fitness room, or rec center. Small, clean laundry room with all new equipment. Restrooms/showers slightly dated but clean however small with minimal shower privacy (score "B"). No propane sales. No playground. No off-leash dog run. Campground: Not in a flood plain. No storm shelter. Moderately wooded. Interior road is narrow, gravel with tight, sharp turns around large trees; no overhead obstacles. Very challenging for big rigs and coaches. No tent area, yurts, or cabins. Sites are all packed, slide-to-slide, level, gravel, pull-through and back-in, no landscaping. Utilities at mid-rig with FHU-20/30/50; metered for monthly. Adequate water pressure with good taste. Sewer pipe is 4" threaded, about 3-4" above ground level. No patios. "Ok" picnic tables for some sites. No room for fires (or BBQ grills for that matter). Poor satellite views (trees). Free cable TV (24 channels). Free Wi-Fi with good coverage and bandwidth. Verizon phone at 5 bars; 4G at 4 bars. No recycle bins. Noise: CG sits beside US-24, a major, 4-lane highway. Traffic is continual and loud with notable exhaust odors during rush hour. No railroad, aircraft, or interstate noise. Bug Report (early August): large red ants. Runners: CG road not suitable for running. Consider using community roads. Yoga: no place to put your mat. Conclusion: Score 3-Poor. - StephenK
Jul 2017 - $34.00
Rate is weekly for premium back in site. All sites are gravel and very narrow. Sites 20-26 are long back in sites far enough away from street to avoid some of the street noise. Site 20 was long enough for 43 foot fifth wheel and just wide enough to park truck and 3 wheel motorcycle in front of fifth wheel. Some of the back sites are along major highway 24 and very noisy. Cable worked and new WIFI was good. Good water and electric. Campground is close to restaurants and shopping in Old Colorado City and not far from Garden of the Gods. Staff friendly and helpful. Sites are narrow but this park was full during our stay. We would look elsewhere if visiting Colorado Springs. - fulltimehusker

Looks like a lot of full-timers in a more industrial area. It is close to I-25 and okay for a one night stop. I wouldn't stay here for more than that. No atmosphere at all, just a hilly, dusty place to park a rig. GPS was off and entrance sign is tiny so we had to disconnect dolly to back up coach to make the turn into campground. Whole campground is terraced with back-in sites & steep road. We had plenty of room to park dolly and car. - monamonaco

The staff are very helpful and willing to work with me to make it happen. The park does not have public showers or restrooms, so if this is important find another park. It is close to I-25 and any and all shopping you might need. Great views of Pikes Peak and could even see parts of Garden of the Gods. Many full timers at the park. - RandL

Arrived in the early afternoon and took one of the last two sites available. Got backed in and discovered we had a flat. There is a Goodyear Commercial Tire Center very close so got a new tire installed. Good water pressure and 30 amp power. You are very, very close to your neighbor's here so make sure you are in the confines of the white lines. One of our neighbor's had their window shades deployed and they were actually in our site so we had to move over a foot or so. We will be back. - StarlifterFE

Very tight parking spaces. Good 30 amp electric and water pressure. Lodge is very friendly. Buy one drink and then the 2nd is on the house. Great location for touring the area. Good DTV and Verizon 4g cell signals. We will be back. - StarlifterFE

The Colorado Springs Elks lodge has a 12 electric/water sites located behind the lodge. Six of the sites seem to be occupied by longer term campers. Sites are extremely close together. Big rigs are okay. Camping is limited to Elks members. There is an onsite dump station. The campground fills up in the summer but dry camping is allowed for $5.00 per night. No reservations. On-site campground host. Great location for touring the area. Will stay here again in our motorhome. - lmg

Okay, the entrance is a little tricky - steep and narrow road. But we enjoyed our stay here so much. The wi-fi is incredible! I've never had such a strong, fast signal in an RV park. The park is so peaceful and you look up at mountains. The owners are very nice and they have a big, lazy dog that is so quiet and gentle. Wouldn't hurt a fly. We would welcome the opportunity to stay here again. - smockingsal

If you like lots of kids, constant traffic noise and the overpowering odor of (???), this is the place for you.
The staff was very friendly at check in. We didn't spend a lot of time in the campground so that helped. If your vacation is spending all the time in the campground you can, this is not the place for you.
The bathroom and showers were disgusting, loud and constantly crowded. We won't be spending our camping dollars at Lone Duck again. - JasonS

Under new ownership. New owner friendly but raising cost to stay there. Not the best place to stay in Colorado but it is close to shopping and has great view of mountains. I recommend using a water filter. T-Mobile has bad reception. Never could use WIFI so signal needed work, new owner said he is working with new service provider. - Wilhite

So glad we found this place. Yes, it's old but the restrooms have been done and are very very clean all the time. They have two Pull Through Sites that give you the most amazing view of the mountains...the kids loved the rec room...pool table ping-pong and foosball and TV. The staff are so friendly, not much in the camp store, just a few things, but Walmart is only a few miles up the hill in Woodland Park. TV reception is great. Their WiFi is slow but verizon 4G was strong. - plcurl

This park would be fine for an overnight stay. Clean restrooms, but many sites have permanent residents and were a bit shabby. Park is just off highway, but road noise wasn't noticeable at night. WiFi was good. - rebeccaal

I can't believe I am the only one who reviews this lovely NFS park. The 3 mile gravel road to the park is now in very good condition. The drive is beautiful and not at all scary. All the roads in the Ramparts Recreation Area are paved. Sites are gravel. There are 3 pull thru sites that will take rigs up to 40 feet. There is shade and privacy especially on the outside loop. Reservations are available and recommended as the park fills up Thursday to Monday. This is a place for people who love the great outdoors with hiking, kayaking, fishing and biking. Hosts are visible and helpful. Showers and dumping are available in Woodlawn Park. - NT2013
Jul 2015 - $9.00
I reviewed this campground some years ago and have not been back since the Waldo Canyon fire in 2012 came within 100 feet of taking this beautiful little campground out. This is a NFS campgound. No hook ups.
Sites are very nice, large, shady and well maintained. Roads within the recreation area are paved. Signage is good. Hiking and fishing are wonderful. The 4 mile gravel road from Woodland Park has been graded since the fire but it is still wash board in places. The speed limit on the road is 20 miles an hour for a reason. If you love nature and are looking for peace and quiet this is a great place. Meadow Ridge is one of 2 campgrounds in the Rampart Reservoir Recreation area. To reach Meadow Ridge turn left immediately before you reach the entrance pay station. The second camp ground, Thunder Ridge is pass the entrance. It is closer to the lake but it is best for tents and pop up trailers as it is quite tight. This area is very popular with mountain bikers, hikers and fisher persons. You will need reservations on weekends. Tents or small rigs probably can get a spot on weekdays. There is no cell phone reception in the campground . Verizon comes in if you walk up to the fee station--short walk. - NT2013
Jul 2010 - $17.00
The only reason I did not rate this campground as a 10 was the terrible wash boarded 3.5 miles of gravel that led up to it. Pull thru sites 14, 16 and 18 are some of the best I've seen. Hiking is wonderful and fairly easy--not straight up or down. This campground is for those who want an outdoors experience. Fishing is wonderful. The camp ground sits about 400 feet above the lake. There is a trail down to it plus a great trail around the lake. I plan to go back. Reservations are required on weekends and a good idea for week days. I camped in a 30 foot travel trailer. - NT2013
