A Gem of a park! Hidden away down a hill and next to the river! Awesome staff got us parked immediately and were super pleasant. The sites are nice and wide with few to many trees! So peaceful to listen to the river. For the dogs there are several places to walk including around a little pond. Our biggest complaint was that we had to leave after only one night! Sigh. Would have loved to stay longer. We plan to return! We camped at Pagosa Riverside Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Our stay was OK, has good phone service with ATT. Full hookups , water pressure is OK and good cable service on TV, WiFi worked good. Gravel pads and fairly level sites , one problem I had they put me in a site backed into against a steep bank, our rear view was looking at some bushes, lol. Staff was friendly except for gentleman that escorted us to site , I didn’t like the site and asked the man do we have any other choices and his comment was “ hey it’s Memorial weekend take it or leave it “. Looked at other RV parks in Pagosa Springs but choices here are slim, other places looked old and run down. I would stay again but need to make reservations early and asked to put close to river. We camped at Pagosa Riverside Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This was a nice campground. It had so many pros and the only con was the Wifi. The campground has Wifi, but it didn't work at all during our stay. We could connect but there was no data. Luckily our T-Mobile and Verizon data was okay and we were able to use that for our work. We met a lot of nice neighbors - good neighbors really make or break your camping experience! Our campsite was on the lake. It was a tight spot but it was worth it to wake up and look out on the lake every morning. We ate outside several times. The trailer was parked on gravel but there was a large concrete pad for our carpet and chairs. There were TONS of hummingbirds - more than I have ever seen before!! There are feeders outside of the office and I enjoyed walking over there to watch the hummingbirds. The staff was very nice and we enjoyed the store. We found this cute fish made out of wood that we hung on our camper's wall and we are so glad we bought it! FYI our Verizon phone worked all throughout town but our T-Mobile phone lost service once we passed the Pagosa Hot Springs heading towards Walmart and Ace Hardware. We camped at Pagosa Riverside Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Rate was just reasonable given weekly discount, sort of pricey for what is here if you are staying night to night. Some of the sites are great, many are not. Some are squeezed together, others have more room, and some are shoehorned into very awkward spots. It's as though there were once a regular RV park here, and someone came along and tried to cram in a bunch more spaces. The location is pretty and quiet, with lots of trees and grass. The pond is sort of murky and stagnant, but the river is nice, and safe enough at this spot for kids to play in. There is no dog walk, and the people that will be most unhappy with that are the non-dog owners. The dog owners parade their dogs along the front of everyone else's sites every morning, and let them poop on the front portion of the grass on others' sites. Some of them pick up the poop, some of them don't. There seem to be a lot of excess cars; don't know why. It gave the place the look of a used car lot. Plenty of cable tv channels, no o/a tv. The park is set down onto the riverside off of the road, which, along with the trees, made communications an issue. My Verizon phone worked ok, but the data came and went. There was no trouble once I got up out of the campground onto the road. My satellite radio was very spotty, for the same reason. Wifi was passable. I would not return here, because of the dog thing and the crowding, but I think people who would really enjoy this park would be people with kids who wanted to stay parked here and just let their kids run around unsupervised. Oh yeah, and there are lots of unsupervised kids running around. Customer service was ok, not that friendly, but not rude either - just people going through the motions. We camped at Pagosa Riverside Campground in a Motorhome.

We love this campground by the river and away from city traffic and stay here every chance we get. There is a place for everyone's favorite mode of camping and the campsites are easy to maneuver and well-kept. The staff here are very kind and helpful and the store has everything you need! We also love the laundry room. But the very best feature is the beauty of nature! Magnificent! We camped at Pagosa Riverside Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Man that showed us (took) to our site was very nice and very helpful. The two ladies in the office were not rude, but were not very friendly either. Showed us three different sites, after we chose one they took us to the site and helped us back in. Site was level with sewer, water and electric which were all accessible. Picnic table but no fire pit. Nice, could be a campground with lots of possibilities, has a lake and the river also runs passed it. Over priced for what you get. Don't think we would stay there again. We camped at Pagosa Riverside Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Not much going on at the campground but Pagosa Springs is a beautiful town in a wonderful setting. We came in on the Eastern side, the Western side is much newer with a Walmart and all sorts of other shops and fast food options. Hwy 84 headed South is a scenic drive but narrow and curves, but the road itself is pretty good.

Sites were level with full hookups, and were near a small river with a large pond that had a walking trail around it. Tents were on the other side of the pond. We were on gravel, and there were shady areas, but we were not in one. We called ahead for a reservation for that night. The park was mostly full when we got there. RVs were pretty close together. The wifi only worked in the office building, not in our RV. We camped at Pagosa Riverside Campground in a Motorhome.

if you show up before check in they will not let you park even though the spot was vacant. They said they had to clean the site and when we came back at 1:00 the table was filthy and the office staff was very rude. The campground was not cleaned. I would never stay there again. They could definitely be more accommodating to their paying customers. They could have said park here until check in but please don't plug in your electricity. This park is a nice park but can be so much more if a little money was put into it. Nice sites right along the river. Grass or (weeds) between the common spaces could be watered and green and it would be more inviting than dirt. With Wolf creek right down the road, that is their competition. Though this is an old KOA campground, the owner and management are definitely upgrading it! Some sites are a little close, but with the San Juan River right next to the campground...wow! Just a beautiful area. Very nice staff, management, and owner! We will stay here again! We camped at Pagosa Riverside Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed 9 nights. Was only supposed to be 7 but our truck broke down when we were leaving the campground. The staff was quick to help us - got us into a new site and the contact info for a repair shop. The owner is super sweet and is continuing the campground in her late-husband's honor. You can tell the campground has been in existence for a long time, but you can see the consistent effort made by staff to keep it up. None of the sites are quite the same shape, so sometimes you'll have a bit more breathing room and sometimes you don't. Width of pull thru accommodated our fifth wheel with slides on both sides and our truck parked next to it. Our site also had enough room for us to park our small SUV, flat trailer and 2 motorcycles. Site probably used to be gravel at some point, but is mostly dirt now. Some grass/dandelions on the sides. Our site had a firepit and a taller barbeque grill (with garbage in it from disrespectful campers). Plastic picnic table in good shape also included. Hookups worked as desired. Our first site wasn't super level, we used extra boards under our jacks so they weren't extended so far. Second site a few down was much better. We were in the row behind the river sites. Unless you're a motorhome with a big window, I personally wouldn't pay extra for the river sites. I could see the rushing river and the pond out my window from the second row. Very quiet/dark at night and great star viewing. Nice walking path around the pond. Wifi worked fine for surfing websites/social media. Had a couple bars of AT&T LTE. Bathroom/showers are a bit of a walk from many of the sites except the pond tent sites. Interior roads have the occasional pothole so observe the slow speed limit. Some big trees and bushes, but none rubbed/hit the RV. We'd absolutely come back here; prettier than the other nice RV park in town. Pagosa is a wonderful area. We camped at Pagosa Riverside Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The forest service roads in the area are fantastic. Plumtaw Road and the trek to Piedra Falls (waterfall) was awesome. Stop at the US Forest Service office to get free maps. Treasure Falls down by Wolf Creek Pass beautiful and easy to get to. Buckskin Towing & Auto Repair quick and efficient with repairing our truck. The Giant gas station at Piedra Rd has CHEAP propane. Easy drive to Durango; take the train to Silverton.

My wife and I and our miniature schnauzer glamped in a 43 foot pusher with tow. We had an incredible pull thru site 30 feet from the river. Idyllic, rustic and scenic. The basics are well done. Good water, power, sewer, cable, and wi-fi. AT&T was OK and Verizon was unavailable (according to a fellow Texan parked nearby). San Juan river setting, cool water, tall trees, small lake, reedy marsh, plenty of trails combine to make a bird-watchers paradise. Gravel roads and sites. Sites are fairly flat with metal picnic table, fire pits and grills. Bathrooms look dated but were clean with quick warm water. Small RV store was well stocked. Owners were friendly, informative and constantly working. I'll come back. We camped at Pagosa Riverside Campground in a Motorhome.

My husband and I absolutely loved the park. We stayed right by the river, which was amazing! The park was full but quiet. Didn't feel crowded at all. Beautiful views, close to Pagosa Springs. Very pet friendly, even some some folks walking their cat's on leashes :) The only reason I didn't give the park a 10 is because there is no doggy park, otherwise this place is perfect! Park is nicely located next to the river. Beautiful setting. A little pricey, but I believe that being close to the resort town warrants the cost. Was a little concerned when we checked in: parked by the pool. Above ground, vinyl type, back yard pool with sides sagging. Sites were a little crowded. The staff was very pleasant: nice people.
