I liked this campground. Owners were friendly and welcoming. Gravel spots, really nice size. This is high plains desert so no grass or shade. Very nice, quirky decorated walking path around campground. Our site was level. Great views for viewing mountains and watching sunsets. About 20 minutes from Pueblo and 45 minutes to Colorado Springs. Decent WIfi and Verizon. As stated on the website and when we made our reservation, need water filter and to use bottled water. I would go back. We camped at Haggard's RV Campground in a Motorhome.

We were in the area to visit with friends and this was very convenient to them. The campground was very well maintained and the host was very friendly and accommodating. Spaces were gravel and level and had plenty of room. After a chat about wildlife, at one point the host let us know that there was an antelope herd that could be seen from the park. Also, the park experienced a power outage one day while we were out and about and the host called us to see if we had any pets in our rig and if they could help with that. We didn't, but I sure appreciated that they would worry about that! They called again a bit later to let us know the outage was resolved. That is excellent customer service! We camped at Haggard's RV Campground in a Motorhome.

In my 10 months of travelling so far, these were the nicest owner-operators I have run across. Always saying hello and working to maintain and upgrade the property. It shows because they have groups of return customers. The views here are gorgeous. Lots of space between sites. The WiFi was absolutely solid the entire time which is necessary for me as I work. Was notified ahead of time about the well water so that was a non-issue. We camped at Haggard's RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

It is obvious the owners truly care about people and their park. They want you to be comfortable and happy, and they are busting their butt to keep this park looking nice and functioning well. They feed the park burgers, dogs & sides at least once a month, FREE of charge. The wife/owner is full of local lore and info about the area. She is very concerned about the welfare of all pets and made sure to call us when the power dropped. She was ready to get our pet or call a locksmith, whatever we needed. Luckily, we had our dog with us, and the power was restored within 30 minutes, but even so, she cared! The park is halfway between Florence and Pueblo West, and it's all by itself, so there is wildlife around the park, and the stars shine brightly at night. The sites are mostly gravel, with small grassy patches, but, it is the desert, so any grass is a plus. There are picnic tables at each site, and the biggest off-leash dog run we've ever seen in a campground. Interior roads are gravel, but well kept, and WIDE, with lots of turning room. Propane is available on site. The pool was cool, but sparkling clean. WiFi was good and fast, and reliable. The wife/owner was always ready with story or a recommendation on where to go or what to see. We would absolutely return here if we were in the area. We camped at Haggard's RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Desert Reef Hot Springs, in Florence, clothing optional, but they didn't mind that we kept our suits on, was very nice & relaxing. Off the beaten path, for sure, but nice. Lake Pueblo State Park has a nice swim beach, not too crowded. Look for the antelope herd, just east of the park.

Friendly staff, met some very nice people. The staff updated us on scorpions and rattlesnakes (it is camping). They had not seen any but found buttons. No grass at sites so wear shoes. The park will take care of any that are found. Park vehicle next to RV instead of in front or behind. We camped at Haggard's RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

About 10 miles from the nearest store or town. Quite campground. There are noises from the main road but it's not bad at all. The park looks pretty desolate at first, but this place grows on you. We enjoyed the solitude and the beautiful scenery. Nice place. Would stay again. We camped at Haggard's RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

If I was staying here long term, I would ask for a site furthest away from the road (because of the noise). It's not a heavily traveled artery, but you can still hear cars and trucks as they passed. But the noise didn't bother us at all.

Hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Campground was very well maintained with the owners constantly moving watering hoses around, etc. We were warned of the water being well water so brought our own and were fine for 3 nights. The best part to me was they would not fill all sites because when they do they do not have enough power. Hence, we were given the choice of 2 sites with the other being a "parking spot" for our towed jeep. To me, that is being very considerate of their guests! We camped at Haggard's RV Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for an overnight stay as we were passing thru to visit relatives in Pueblo. The nice lady who talked to me on the phone and also checked us in was very friendly and helpful with the process.we were given a nice level site and allowed to park our truck in the adjacent site. The facility was clean and the pool was refreshing. We will stay here again when visiting the area. Very close to Canon City, and the Royal Gorge. Also very close to Rocky Mountain access. We camped at Haggard's RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

I'd give it a 10 except for the water. We were advised their water had a lot of iron, so we stayed on our own fresh water tank and used their showers. Very easy in and out, gravel spaces, few trees, so we had good sattelite and Verizon service. Level spot. All the things We value. We camped at Haggard's RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Royal Gorge is not far, but at $22 each it was over priced. Bishops Castle, 1 hour drive, but was a very pretty drive. Would be gourgous in fall when Aspens turn. Free and interesting. Not neccessarily for little kids.

great location just west of Pueblo. Easy access to a lot of activities in the area. Owner was fantastic - helped me fill up propane at a very reasonable price. Nice (cool) pool. walking path around property. They tell you ahead - but reminder to BRING DRINKING WATER. theirs is fine for showers, etc...but lots of iron in water and it's rough to drink. Highly recommend if you're in the area. We camped at Haggard's RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Haggard's RV Campground worked for us as an overnight stop. Our impression was that it was reasonably-priced, well-managed, safe, and offered most - but not all - of the essential amenities demanded by RVers (e.g. Big Rig sites, 30/50 amp electrical service, free wifi, laundry, clean restrooms and showers, dog-walk enclosure but no picnic table or cable TV). Our FHU, pull-thru site was nicely spaced, level, and had a gravel parking pad. The park's grounds are well-tended, but there was no tree cover for shade. We also wonder if high winds and dust are a problem during the dry season. We had no trouble receiving our DISH satellite signal, and we had 3-bars on our Verizon hotspot. We did hot attempt to hook-up to the park's wifi. Cautionary Note: Management is very clear that the CG is on well-water. It's essential to bring your own drinking water. The park's well-water is absolutely brown and iit may discolor your RVs fixtures. We camped at Haggard's RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Owner very friendly and informative of area. When we told her our trailer window in the back was the biggest, she put us in a site without an RV behind us. There was a lovely Mountain View behind us! Very considerate! Park is kept up well and owner is always working outside. Trail around park is good for a short walk or run. We camped at Haggard's RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit Florence, CO for lots of antique stores. Also, several good coffee shops. We liked the Aspen Leaf Bakery and Cafe. The Coyote Den in Penrose is very good for coffee and sandwiches. Check out Juniper Valley for great home cooking in an adobe building. It is on Highway 115 half way between Penrose and Colorado Springs. Check online for hours. Open only three days a week.

Overall Rating:

This is a very nice campground with very reasonable rates. It is about 10 miles from Pueblo West that has most anything you might want. The owners are super friendly and helpful. There are walking paths around the perimeter of the campground. This is a very dry area, but there are artificial flowers, sculpture items, and benches along the path. There is a small playground, a very large dog run, (actually a corral), and a swimming pool. The pool is a little cool, but the owner said they were investigating ways they could heat the pool to make it more enjoyable. The spaces are large and have good hook-ups. The water has a lot of minerals in it, but with filters there is no problem with it. We were here for a week, and really enjoyed our stay. We camped at Haggard's RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a great park in the wilds of Colorado. the owners are very friendly and clearly take pride in their park. They warned us in advance of the iron in the water. We used a inline portable filter with carbon/kdf along with the water tap filter at our sink and found the water to be acceptable for ice and coffee. The pool was a little cold but it is very hot here and the kids loved the pool. The pool was clean and well kept. We especially enjoyed the outdoor stereo that was provided by the pool. At arrival the host took us out back and gave us directions on how to navigate to the site. The roads were easy to navigate and will be fine for any big rigs. All of the sites were pull through and we were able to fit our 35' rv and Toad in the spot. We liked the place so much we extended our stay 2 days. The host was helpful in getting us another spot for our extended stay. The dog run here was the largest i have ever seen. The dogs had fun running around each evening. We used this as our base camp for Royal gorge, pikes peak, and some general offroading. We would stay here again if we come to the area again. Verizon and ATT signal were both good with high speed data. We didn't need it as the parks wifi was excellent. We camped at Haggard's RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Pikes p\Peak - 45 minutes to entrance. Royal Gorge - 30 minutes. If you want a scenic drive take Phantom Canyon Road or shelf road to the town of Victor in the mountain. The road is dirt but a good 2wd should make the drive ok. We took Phantom Canyon Road up and Shelf Road back. Beautiful.

The choices of parks that have a pool around Colorado Springs or this area are very limited. Those that do are your over priced KOAs at over twice the price.
