Overall Rating:

This is the largest and most crowded park we’ve ever been in. There are many family activities which is the main draw I’m sure. If you’re in a big rig BEWARE. There are definitely spaces that will accommodate a big rig comfortably but there is no rhyme or reason we could see as to how spaces were assigned. Small trailers were parked in large spaces and large rigs were so close there was barely room to open slides. No one from the park helps you navigate or park and it took us upwards of an hour to park including time to find people whose vehicles had to be moved before we could squeeze in and I’m not sure we ever could have if it hadn’t been for the help of other campers. There was a constant parade of trucks, bicycles and golf carts but everything shut down during quiet hours. A couple of roads had large pot holes at the end and steel posts had been driven in to block access rather than repair (?). There was trash on the ground around the main gathering areas - it would be hard to keep up with that many people but still. Only the friendly campers around us made this pleasant. I would only consider returning if we had our grandchildren and were able to secure a reasonably sized site.Management really could make access a lot easier if they only wanted to. We camped at Fun Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here last year but in the "Aspen" section. This year we spent 10 days in the "Riverside" section and enjoyed our stay. In August many people have left but there were still probably 150+ RVs at the park. As large as the park is it was not crowded at all. The park is in a beautiful setting, there are many fishing ponds, room to walk, places to eat or snack, miniature golf, entertainment, and close to many "jeep" trails. Planning to return next year. We camped at Fun Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed in the monthly section. Paid for the first month upon entering the park. When time to pay for second month, was asked to pay for the first month again. Had to produce the canceled check. Other campers had problems also, so if you stay here, keep all your records, you might need them. Lots are spacious with sunny/open exposures. Site surface is grass and features a picnic table. We camped at Fun Valley Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

The park is a horse pasture that someone installed RV connections in. The sites are narrow and the roads leading to the sites are narrow; if the park is full, it would be difficult to get a big rig into most of the sites. When we first arrived shortly after a rain, the sites were muddy and difficult to get set up in. I had said that I would never be back, but after spending a week here and seeing the many activities available for the whole family, and meeting so many friendly people, and enjoying the cool weather, my mind was changed and we will be back. We were there in middle August and many RV's and kids had left. All of the staff we dealt with were very friendly and helpful. This is a large family oriented park that is being up-graded for today's RV. We didn't use the showers or restrooms, but they appeared clean. Overall the park was clean and if bringing kids, this is the place to come, lots of room and activities. We camped at Fun Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

This RV park is definitely NOT big rig friendly. We have a 43' Allegro Bus. The spaces are so close together I could literally stick my hand out our window and touch the neighbors rig! This campground is also in great need of updating. The campground was built in 1959 and most of their facilities look like they are original. The campsites are grass and poorly maintained. It had been raining a lot while we were there and it was becoming a mud pit. We left 2 days earlier than when we were scheduled to leave because we were concerned that if we didn't, we would not be able to get out due to the mud. While we were leaving we observed a larger Newmar a few sites down from us that was stuck in deep mud and they were trying (unsuccessfully) to get it out with a 1-ton pickup with a winch. When we first arrived, one of the sites they tried to put us in had a broken sewer line and there was raw sewage spilling out. The campground has potential to be a nice place if the owners would do some work on it. We camped at Fun Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

After 20+ summers at Fun Valley, I was disappointed in the way it looks now. The new owners must be overwhelmed by the amount of work that needed to be done before they bought the place. This year we spent 5 nights near the river. Although our site did now come with new 50-amp service. It also came with abnormally long, un-mowed grass & weeds, smelled of sewage, low water pressure and so much new gravel that I have to re-level each day. The rates have increased to near the market rate for the area, but the improvements are lacking. This year they placed a higher priority on getting laundry mat open than mowing the sites. Not everyone uses the laundry mat, but we all use the sites we paid. It will be a few more years before I go back to FV, if at all. I will read the reviews and see if the dreams of the new owners come true. The Good things about FV: Reservation system, snack shack when open, grocery store well stocked, friendlier staff and family friendly camping. We camped at Fun Valley in a Motorhome. Good: A lot to do. Bad: Damaging Voltage less than 104V. Raw sewage on ground daily. Water pressure 0-40psi, morning shower without your pump, no way. Laundry Mat has not opened, again, more empty promises. Grounds are the worsed I have ever seen here. They seem to cater to their $230 dollar a night customers, and to heck with the rest. By the way those customers have good electrical. The ugly, there is no fire protection of any kind. And without water half the time, it could be disastrous. New owners seem to have priority of let's run off the current and past guest and get higher paying new ones. At the end of last year, new owner promised and promoted, a correction to electrical system, water system, wastewater system. None of which was done. Fool us once, same on you, fool me twice shame on me. We camped at Fun Valley Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We have stayed at this park for over 30 yr. Under new ownership...trying to improve but so far improvements are bad. Looks like trying to go high end. We parked our fifthwheel and canopy hung over neighbors. Put out slide out and ours again touched nieghbors...........more room at Walmart between 18 wheelers. No room to manuver we had to find people to move thier cars so we could get into the spot. They now take reservations...so don't go and run into someone and think you'll stay a few extra days....won't happen. Ore you'll have to laod up and change spots. If I pack I'm gone. Alot of good years here but afraid they are over. We camped at Fun Valley Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Been going there for over 20 years. Much has been left to new owners to bring up to code. Weak or no Wi-Fi; poor power (less than 30amps); water pressure fair. Prices are going to go up depending on where you reserve your site. Not what it was when the prior owner was running the place. Sites are too close to extend your awning without touching the adjacent rig's awning. ATVs are replacing bikes for kids. Good picnic tables are a rare item. Guard the good one or it will disappear. There are too many people stacked on top of one another for this to be an enjoyable place to camp. I am glad we experienced it late in the year as I can only imagine the masses of kids that must camp here. There are some nice areas in the park and some nice amenities, but this not the way I like to camp. Cell service was hit and miss, forget data service. WiFi only worked at the office and restaurant area but was slow. No antenna or cable TV. Because our campsite backed to one of the fishing ponds we had people walking constantly behind our RV all hours of the day and evening. No respect for the campers on the sites. We left here on the Sunday before Labor Day. The area we were camped in had vehicles stacked two deep down the road in front of our campsite. I had to wait for the guy next to me to leave in order to get out of the campsite. There were so many campfires on Saturday night you almost could not breath. The new owners need to get rid of about 25-30 percent of the sites to create breathing room. They also need to put down some gravel for the uneven campsites. We were completing a 24 day camping trip and this was the most un-level place we stayed. We could not use the fire pit as it was directly under the rear of our trailer. There was a picnic table between me and the next camper, but he didn't have one so not sure who this one belonged to. If it were not for family, I would not have stayed here in the first place. Doubt I will return. We camped at Fun Valley Campground in a Travel Trailer.

First time to visit this type of RV park during their peak season. Not impressed. Staff was nice enough. Trailer parking areas had trash I picked up. Sewer connection located at base of power post. Family advised against using showers with out shower shoes. Horses could be better cared for. Not impressed with animal care. Horses should have orthopaedic pads, fly masks, fly sprayed while tethered and standing saddled in sun. Wrangler needs to improve care or owners find another. Won't return. Tips for other Campers:

If you like to go for driving trips to see the country side, it was beautiful. During peak season, it is crowded, lots of children and adults riding bikes on road. Rio Grande was very low. Water tubing with water so low was difficult. Refused to consider horseback riding given how poorly horse's were cared for as I am a horse owner. Fire pit with no established rings too close to where camper was parked. Food was fair. Pricing to stay, paid activities over priced.

Park under new owners. They are trying to improve park, but are forsaking current and long time users (7th year for us). They have installed premium 50 AMP sites, while old sites are burning down pedestals with low voltage: 104V and bad wiring. Water pressure in the mornings 6psi. There is no Fire Protection in the park. They need to address problems before improvements. But its apparent that they are looking for new cliental instead of serving current and past customers. Sad. We will not return. Still a great place for kids, but damage to appliances and AC units not worth it. Now they have computerized the check in and out systems, it takes forever to get checked in or out. We camped at Fun Valley Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
