Just stopped for the night. Site was not level and was a collection of puddles the next morning after a good rain. Utilities worked well including the usually iffy Tengo WIFI. - ramblin' vagabonds
Aug 2018 - $79.00
Some sites are tight. Some are more open. All utilities worked excellent. Activities all the time. Nice pool. Great for kids and adults. - stanner17

Large campground. 2 large pools with lots of activities going on. Only downfall was our site was wide open with no shade. - Bjb1775

Nice State Park with excellent (water front) access to the Housatonic River. Also has a few "rustic cabins" for $50 a night available, on excellent water front sites. Not "big rig" friendly, some areas (especially sites along the river) have a lot of trees that can make maneuvering difficult. Sites up by camp office are a little easier for RVs to get into. Campsites in general are pretty good size. There are supposed to be a couple water faucets available where I believe you can fill a water tank, but we didn't see them. Camp staff told us a dump station is available, but off site, and we didn't see it as we didn't need it. Camp staff are polite, friendly, and helpful. Bathrooms are "state park clean", and the bathroom buildings have one shower each in them. Bathrooms also have a couple large sinks for cleaning dishes. Great campground for semi-rustic camping. Lots of fishermen and the river has great fishing. Also, just down the road is access to the Appalachian Trail, with a neat, quick loop hike - Pine Knob Loop Trail, about 2.5 hour hike with some climbing. - Tom

This was the last leg of our New England trip. I reserved our site for a (5) night stay. We wanted to add an additional day at the beginning of our stay here. We called a day in advance of the additional day and asked if we could have the same site as our (5) night stay so we wouldn't have to move. They confirmed we could have the same site and add the additional day. The gate closes at 4:00 PM daily and we were not going to arrive until after 4:00 so they said our gate key and map would be in a box outside the office. We arrived late and found the map and key but the site number was different than what they had confirmed to us over a month back. We thought it was a mistake and went to the original site. It was empty so we set up there. In the morning I went to make sure they knew we were there and was told we were in the wrong spot. They said the map showed this. But they had already confirmed by phone we could have our original spot and never mentioned they were moving us. The young girls working the desk finally agreed that I could stay in our spot, but with no apology and with plenty of attitude. The spot was extremely difficult to get to with untrimmed trees, stumps, and large rocks along the path. The site was muddy. There was no way to hook up both electrical and water connections because they were too far apart from each other. Had to purchase an additional water hose the next day. Most of the sites had full-timers on them and were not kept clean or neat. The site to our right had a broke down Dodge pickup with the bed filled with old tires, bumpers, etc. There were other tires and miscellaneous junk items spread over their site. This was typical of most of the sites, with only a small number of occupants that took any pride in how their site looked. Fire wood was $8 a pack compared to $4 or $5 anywhere else in the towns close by. On Saturday night there was live music that could be heard everywhere in the camp. It went from 8 PM to 10 PM. Don't camp here. - germaneighter

White Pines has a friendly helpful staff that makes you feel welcome from the minute you meet them. Keep in mind, this is a real Campground, not an RV resort. The roads are hilly and a little bumpy, but the sites are wooded and private, while being on the larger size. The pool is amazing and always spotless. They added a dog park this year that our pups loved. (it's not big, but it was a lot of fun for the dogs). I believe owning a campground is a lot of work for not a lot of pay out. Of course there are full timers who have been there a long time, and some of them look a little run down or sloppy. But to be honest, when I go camping, I go for me. I don't actually pay much attention to what others do. We camp here 4 to 5 times a year! And we look forward to it every time! - Jesbish
Aug 2018 - $25.00
A very nice, well maintained campground. We had an electrical power issue which maintenance addressed immediately and corrected with no further issues. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. All of the buildings are clean as is the pool area. They have many scheduled and supervised activities for the guests. Keep up the good work! - phoebedixie

After checking in, asked for an escort to the site (as that is usually a standard procedure at other campgrounds). Owner had an attitude and reluctantly escorted us to the site. We later found out there was no WiFi available at the site and it was only available at or close to the recreation building. The bath house needs cleaning and major updating. Arrogant owner needs to retire. - JRNM
Sep 2016 - $36.00
We arrived late and left early so didn't have a lot of time to look around. The owners/staff were very friendly and helpful and had reserved a site for us on the basis of a phone call to them that afternoon--no deposit, etc., asked for. We had advised them we were not certain we could make it before they closed. While we didn't spend a lot of time, we did see the beautiful lake that the campground is located on. Lots of water activity going on as we left. Rest rooms/showers were not new but were well-kept and clean. Campgrounds was really peaceful despite most of the spaces being filled. And I was impressed by their picking up of recyclables one morning per week, if you left them near the roadway in front of your space. - Racer and Friend
Jul 2016 - $35.00
We stayed in the park for 7 days over the 4th of July weekend to attend a concert in Tanglewood. The park was clean and quiet, except for the fireworks on 3 July that drove our dog crazy. The lake is clean and there are boats to rent if you like. They don't have cable and the free-air TV was nonexistent. The staff is friendly and helpful. - cooktr

Mostly seasonal weekenders. Very busy on weekend, very quiet during week. Lots of activities for kids. There are two small lakes, one for swimming and boating, one for fishing. - Windshift
Oct 2017 - $45.00
We stayed 4 nights. Park was crowded with Columbus day campers. Kids, golfcarts and lots of partiers. Spot was sorta level. All services worked. Camp is being worked on and they still have work to do. Some fixed structures were closed. Only one public restroom was open (that we knew of). There is no laundry at the camp. They said they shall have one next season. This needs to be a priority as the local Copake laundry is dirty & 50% of the machines do not work. Drive to another town if you need to do laundry. We were able to get satellite service with no issues as we were in a pull thru. - KodiTzu
Jun 2017 - $40.00
New Owners are doing a good Job of cleaning and sprucing up the park. The roads a well maintained, a little narrow but in good shape. Check in was easy and there are new electric connections at the sites. All new fire pits were evident and we were the first to use ours. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely go back. - bobm749

Staff was very friendly. There are some beautiful shaded sites; we were in the field, and sun was directly on us in the afternoon and that was a little uncomfortable. We did have 30 amp service, so could use the AC. I'd ask for shade next time, but we didn't give much notice before reserving. Restrooms and showers were very nice & clean. They had everything we needed. We had a great camping experience there. They have boat rentals, a nice lake which is across the road from the camp store. - SharonW.

This is definitely forest camping on Otis Reservoir, which is a scenic lake peninsula. No hookups and there are only about 25 sites out of 93 for trailers and RVs. Our site was down a long rocky driveway slanted to the lake with a picnic table and fire pit overlooking the lake. We could have put a kayak in from our site. Many campers put their boats in at the boat landing and tie it up on the shore near their campsites. It was beautiful. There are many tent and pop up camper sites right on the water. The campground has a nice beach and offers boating, fishing, hiking and swimming. Comfort stations are clean with showers. There is a dump station near the office. This is not just off the highway, it is a long ride in off of route 8 in western MA and I would not want to drive it at night. Our site had four campsites around it but with all the trees and shrubs we could see only the top of one tent in the distance. It is a peaceful place to camp but I would not take an RV over 28 ft camping here. We would camp here again. - gsnakehill
Jul 2010 - $14.00
All the sites seemed to have a lot of privacy with lots of trees and greenery. The lake is beautiful with a nice swim area. Very peaceful, quiet at night, and overall attractive and well kept. Ranger programs for kids and adults are available. Pleasant staff. We will be back. - poodlecamper
Aug 2009 - $12.00
This is a very nice campground that's on the Otis Reservoir. The beach area is average size for a Massachusetts State Park. There are lifeguards on duty most of the time. The campsites are large but some are on hills which make it a tent only site. There is a boat ramp for the general public for use of their watercraft. The weekend we went there the ramp was closed early Saturday afternoon because the parking lot was full. There are also A.T.V. and dirt bike trails in the woods. If you have a powered watercraft or a four wheeler this is a great place to camp. We were able to hike, ride bikes, swim and fish all at one park. We would go back again but it's a long drive for a weekend, so we will hold off for now. - B. P. Donelan

We loved this campground and can't wait to return next year. There was plenty of organized activities to do if you wanted to participate although we chose to relax. The staff is friendly and great. The bathrooms and showers are clean. We liked the overall appearance of this place and enjoyed that there is plenty of room between sites and we didn't feel on top of neighbors. - Tiffhow
Jul 2018 - $40.00
This campground is really super. Packed on the weekends and quiet during the week. Level long pull thru sites with your choice of shaded or not. All the utilities worked well and were conveniently located. Our one problem was them putting us in a site where they knew someone else was coming into. 225 sites and two RV's did not need to be right next to one another. They need to plan these assignments better. They did offer for us to move but who wants to do that after you are settled in for a week stay. - hug448844
Oct 2017 - $54.00
We liked it here so much, we booked 5 weekends for next year! For starters, the staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. We love that the roads are gravel and nice and wide for maneuvering! We love that the sites are very large and level! This is so important to us! We loved the fenced in dog park for our Freddie. The pool was closed for the season, but looks very nice. There are tennis courts, a gaga ball court, miniature gold and a wonderful playground for the kids. Lots of fun activities. We really like this campground! :) - Camping Diva524

Resort? I don't think so. No cable; no sewer; no WiFi - how is that a resort? When I called to book the site I was told that it was the last weekend for camping so the pool and hot tub were closed, there were no activities planned and the store would be closed. We really only wanted a place to park the motorhome while we did some leaf peeping so that didn't matter to us. I was surprised that we were still charged the full summer weekend rate, even when I asked for a discount. The campground looks like it is mostly seasonals and the sites are not kept up very well. Driving to our site seemed like we were driving thru an automotive junkyard. Our fire pit was overflowing with garbage and brush. Truly disappointing experience. - Bonnie66
Oct 2015 - $56.00
We first camped here in 2014. There is a lot to do here on the weekends. From Luau's and pig roasts to country hoe downs, carnivals, family dinners, dances and community fires, this place makes you feel at home. I heard all the bad reviews when the prior owners had the place but the new co-op has turned things around and are constantly improving the look and grounds of the campground. They have 2 well maintained pools and a hot tub. Large play space area for the kids, a covered pavilion, and well maintained laundry facilities. The bathrooms are heated and very clean. Free showers with large dressing areas. Everyone we have come across treats you like family. We have had such positive experiences here we are becoming seasonal campers next year here. - Nk1996
Jun 2009 - $55.00
Rate was the highest we paid in 2.5 years of full timing. We expected luxury, but it was substandard. Gravel road into park. Entrance to the park <very> unlevel. Check-in behind the pool, 50’ away from where you stop, and you walk across gravel/dirt/mud. After you register, you have to go forward, then back up to make a difficult u-turn to get to sites. Very friendly and concerned staff. Few sites for big rigs. Interior roads very tight and full of ruts; we almost bottomed out. A disaster. Wi-Fi was very slow; no cable and only a few TV stations with antenna. 30-amp hookup did not have a circuit breaker, electrical wire tied to trees. Don’t follow GPS; follow directions on website if you <really> want this experience. Weekend we were here was a “backyard carnival,” but they charged for almost everything. Laundry had one washer and one dryer. We will NOT be back. We’d rather stay at a Wal-Mart. - bbonnell

Very nice campground. Bathroom and showers were very very clean. Small campground with a lot of hiking near by. Sites were just big enough for tent or small camper, picnic table, and car. Ranger on first shift has been known to go through campers trash. Disturbing I know but ignore him, dispose of your own trash, and have fun. - stemer2003
