This is an update to our posting of last year. Since that time, Foxwoods has made changes to their RV parking area. Firsy, it is smaller now that the gas station and convenience stores have been built. These are actually a plus - since we could walk over and get coffee in the morning and gas up without leaving the grounds. That is the only good thing. The worst part is that they now allow buses in the RV area. This means that you are surrounded by buses running continuously with fumes and noise all day and night. It finally gets quiet at 6 am. We stayed for 2 nights like that and couldn't wait to get out of there. I tried to complain to their transportation department but my call got put thru to voicemail and of course, no one ever called me back. Foxwoods has been our preferred casino spot for over 17 years. But no more. I will not go back. Foxwoods is a joke in that area. What a disappoint with Foxwoods! - loringsontheroad
Apr 2012 - $1.00
Foxwoods is a great destination spot for an overnight or weekend of dry docking. The resort accommodates RVs of all sizes in a designated parking area, within walking distance of the casinos, although shuttles run 24/7. You will need to check in with security, as most casinos require. Although there is nothing particularly outstanding about their parking area, it is free, the security is good and the casinos offer a lot to do. We've been coming to Foxwoods for over 15 years, always staying at hotels, prior to getting our TT. It is so much nicer not having to rush to get out of the room in the morning; we can sleep in as long as we like now! - loringsontheroad

This is a gated park with key card entry. Our very large site was grassy & a bit muddy, even though the rain came through before we arrived. Internet was out, but cable was OK. There are activities for children & there were lots of kids during our visit. The staff is very friendly & helpful. We didn't know about the honey wagon, and there is no sewer at any site. Restrooms & showers were very clean. Tiny laundromat was also clean. Pricey, but convenient to Mystic. - R&S
Sep 2018 - $60.00
Very clean park with excellent staff. Campground is basically setup with grass islands with back to back parking and trees every few spaces. Some pull-through sites. No sewer but they do have a honey truck either complimentary or for pay depending on the length of stay. Has a nice pool, small mini-golf and playground. Only knock is that I think it may have been a bit overpriced. That said, we stayed for one night but we would not hesitate to stay here again when visiting Mystic which is less than a $10 Uber ride away. - Bandguy
Aug 2018 - $61.00
Very pricey for a campground with no sewer hook ups. Nice long site CG is convenient to Old Mystic Seaport, Groton and New London. - DSK Texas

Not really a campground. Very large RV paved parking lot with plenty of room for selecting a site to park, reasonably level and motorhome was able to level. Only spent one night for dinner and night at the casino. Free shuttle runs about every 10 minutes. Great lot overlooking the river and the casino. Great place to spend a week or a day dry camping. You can secure a permit in advance on the internet or call the phone number posted at the lot and the security will show up almost immediately. - A Adams
May 2018 - $1.00
This is not an actual campground. We were traveling through so it was perfect for us. It is a paved parking area for RVs. But the lot is quite large and is a high overlook to a beautiful lake. A sign at entrance to the parking area displays a phone number to call for a permit and security gives you a pass good for seven days of dry camping! We were there the last week of May and there were only 7 campers so plenty of area to chose a spot. The area is sloped for drainage. We picked a spot at the hightest area of the lot for the view, so did need to use a couple blocks to level. They also provide a regular shuttle service from this lot to the casino. Would definitely stay here again. - don-marg
Aug 2017 - $1.00
The parking area, Turtle Lot RV, is for RV's only. There are signs pointing the way. Over sized vehicles have a separate lot. We kept to the far side of the lot away from the river and had plenty of space. The river side of the lot gets a bit tight at times. The lot has a bit of grade, but plenty of spots are close enough for the jacks to do the rest. OTA TV was ION type stations only. - Bob and Inga

Park was OK at best. Was supposed to have a 50 amp site, they put us in a 30. Power surges all weekend. Park was very noisy, lots of barking dogs. Rented a golf cart, which died after a short trip to the pool. Maintenance staff told us we should have charged it (it had just been picked up). Plugged it in for several hours, died again. We were told we didn't charge it correctly. After Maintenance plugged it in and it charged over night - still not charged. We brought it back for a refund. This is not a campground that we would be back to. Way overpriced for something that is just OK. - rmbmrm
Aug 2017 - $70.00
Sites uneven and close together. Most seasonal, single wide trailers. Personnel unfriendly and some rude. Golf carts old and poorly maintained. No one enforces rules. Hard to find anything nice to say except it is located close to Foxwoods and Mystic. - ClaireWal
Sep 2016 - $90.00
This is an older park dominated by and catered to seasonal/owners. The staff is very friendly.
Our site was small and very close - but a walk revealed much better spots. The bathrooms are NOT cleaned regularly. They are spacious and designed well, just not clean at all, and were not cleaned the entire weekend. Site rules limiting campers per site are ignored. Fires and conversations go late into the night (no curfew enforced).
Plenty of activities, nice pavilion and rec hall (not used). Three pools, two hot tubs. Golf cart rental is nice, but reserve early. DJ on Saturday night and Bingo (daily) could be moved into the enclosed rec hall to cut down on noise.
The buildings are older, and smell musty or damp most of the time from age. I could not stay in the arcade - instant asthma trigger. Even in the camp store (very nice camp store!) the smell came from the air conditioning - needs service. - SHerzig

Park is very scenic with canopy of trees, pond, pool, assorted buildings, clean, and excellent customer service. Large percentage of seasonal campers but very quiet and well kept. Roads are all maintained dirt. Our campsite was open, grass and dirt, level with 30 + 50 amp service, fire pit, and a picnic table. There were trees all thru the campground but the site we chose was open up on a hill but so we were easily able to get satellite service. They escort you to your campsite. We had planned to stay 2 days, but such a nice campround and area, we stayed for a week. This is a destination campground. We travel across the US and visit many different campgrounds, we would definitely stay here again. - don-marg
Jun 2017 - $45.00
When it rains outside, I expect a bit of a mess. What I don't expect is to be ankle-deep in mud to the point that I lost a shoe. I don't know about all the areas in this campground, but where we were in 107A, there was nothing but dirt that turned into mud. No gravel, no pavement. Our rig is covered in mud to the likes that I've never seen before. And inside was worse. I put down two bath mats to try and contain the mud but I still ended up on my hands and knees, scrubbing the floor. We've ended up in a campground in Maine that will allow us to wash the rig. It will take a pressure washer and heavy brush to get rid of this mud. In addition, the campground was filled with seasonals. I have no problem with seasonal campers. But I do have a problem when my view out my back window was a mobile home with a mattress and several pallets sitting out in the yard, along with other debris. Everywhere we looked was trashed. The campground is old but there is no excuse for this kind of disrepair. Not for the amount of money we were paying. Sorry, but fun activities for the kids don't make up for an old run down and dirty campground. We left four days early. This was truly the worst campground we've ever been at. The site was also not wide enough. Our slide out was against a tree. I got no help from staff. - Our Simple Life
Jul 2016 - $52.00
Very nice park with a lot of activities for the kids. Kept very clean. Not sure if your an adult without kids this is a great park for you, but if you have kids its a lot of fun. The outback section is nice and more private then the main area. - john55

Very Disappointed ! This was our first time back at Mystic as a KOA park. We had been here many times when it was Highland Orchards and it was always good. Not anymore ! Our site to be was 517, could not even get into the site because of the low tree branches. Our unit is 13'4" high and we were snagging the branches trying to get in the site. Most of the trees in that row are the same way, over grown for the site. So after talking with the office we were put on site 528 that is suppose to be a premium site that is way over priced at 96.00. You do get a concrete patio with table and chairs and stone parking area, but its all grown up with weeds and grass so you don't see much of the stone. The 50 amp electrical was poor we hardly had 110 v at best. Poor cable connection and picture quality. Wi-Fi was not that good either. In talking with some of the seasonals the power and the low hanging trees have been issues for quite some time and nothing seams to get done about it. They have added many cabins to this park. I think the money could have been better spent correcting the other issues in this park first. Not the same campground it once was. KOA management is not maintaining it very well. Don't think we will be going back ! - Dick C
Sep 2018 - $80.00
We had what is called a patio site. Very good level site, fire pit, concrete patio etc. These sites had an open view of a field and other RVs over a 100 yards away. We thought it was really pricey for what it is. Cable TV was sketchy even after replacement of a connector. But we have satellite, so it was not a major deal. We were concerned when we made the reservation because of the park proximity to I95. But noise was minimal and not an issue. - RPFawcett
Sep 2018 - $79.00
We were not given escort to our site. Roads were narrow and our site was not level & right next to highway with extreme traffic noice. Grounds were unkept & grass had recently been mowed in play & dog walking areas (after apparently a long time). Children & pets were covered in grass after coming back from these areas. Pool area was sub par (broken furniture, umbrellas & stands leveled with newspapers). Staff was friendly but seemed at times too busy for even simple tasks (we purchased wood while registering, were told it would be delivered but never received it till the next afternoon when we walked back to office to remind them). Overall very disappointing for a KOA & definitely not to normal standards. Picnic table in site badly damaged - making it dangerous for children if not always covered. - Lisa Kramer

Such mixed feelings! The park is beautiful as you pull in.... lots of rocks, trees, creek, pond.... but as you approach the office, it looks like a VERY well stocked daycare! In fact, the "office" appears to BE a daycare. And then, if you are there on a weekend you will see why! DOZENS of kids running amuck! Totally unsupervised. We've never seen a place where the kids can just do as they please.... so incredibly dangerous. Between a LOT of vehicles, RV's getting in, bodies of water and dogs... it's a tragedy waiting to happen. We saw some as young as 4 or so walking, running, riding bikes etc with no adults in sight. Our dogs alerted us to them MANY times as they walked right through our site, which had interior road as a boarder on 2 sides. Piles of gravel were under our mat from where the road had been plowed but the gravel was just left there. The sites are primarily dirt so the mat was necessary. The site we were in was only 30 amp... I could've sworn we booked 50 amp, but I must be mistaken. So, we had to alternate heat, microwave etc accordingly. Tough when it's in the 20's at night. But the biggest issue with the site was that the sewer backed up every time we tried to dump. Not fun! We had a neighbor arrive at 10 PM and they had a heck of a time getting into their site. They had to move our picnic table which is fine.... but they left it up against our stairs! Hubby had to climb over it to get out in the morning. Seriously? It's very "permanent resident" heavy.... and apparently they are very lax on rules for keeping sites neat AND for having guests! LOTS of people in and out all day! Overall, this place could be delightful and relaxing..... but currently it's really not. - doggpurr
Sep 2017 - $49.00
We chose our site online with a photo. It was an end site, near the stream and pond. Looked lovely. Grey water only on this site. Some sites have sewer connections. What the photo didn't show is that the site is right next to the backside of the office/house and their activities room (maybe 40' away). I called and inquired about how close the snack bar was to our site, never thinking I should ask how close every other building is. Our view was facing the back of a plywood building. Night #1 we listened to every BINGO number called, every BINGO won and all the chatter until 10pm. In the morning we had kids driving their bikes through our site and having near crashes with our picnic table. We moved our truck for privacy and to make a defining line to our site. The truck wasn't quite long enough to block the heap of old tractors and junk piled up near a small pavillion behind the building. We did get to watch kids hit rocks at each other with ping pong paddles to the point in which we told them to knock it off and move along. Night #2 we endured two hours of karaoke while trying to enjoy our campfire, just feet away. In our opinion, they need to re-think that site. Perhaps eliminate it all together, or, at least, put additional fencing and plantings on the pavillion side to define the site and add a bit of privacy for folks. I will say that this campground had tons of activities for young families to take advantage of. The pool looked nice and clean, we didn't have the opportunity to use it. The owners were in the office and pleasant when we bought firewood. We didn't see any other staff out and about. We didn't use their showers, they were too far away. In their defense, we didn't complain. We were already unhooked and set up and they were pretty much sold out. However, we would have made arrangements to stay elsewhere had we had accurate information when booking the site. We know they are fairly new owners (4 years I was told) and wish them success, but we'll try somewhere else next time. - BDD

Oh my! What a beautiful RV park. After 6 weeks at the busy beaches of southern Maine, what a treat it was to stay at this wonderful park. This park is so meticulously maintained. It is so well laid out. No rows of campers here. It is laid out like a housing development in the woods. Huge spaces between our neighbors. Quiet, peaceful, and gorgeous. It was about a 20 minute trip to anywhere. We visited both casinos while here. We visited Mystic & Westerly. WiFi was excellent until the weekend folks arrived; iffy after that. - Arizona Nancy
Sep 2015 - $41.00
This is definitely one of the better maintained campgrounds we have stayed at. Jim and Lin really care about the grounds as owners and it shows. The site itself was more than large enough for our 35' fifth wheel and truck. There was no grass at the site, but plenty just down the road for walking the dogs. Even though we stayed over Labor Day weekend, we had very few campers around us, making for a very quiet stay. The utilities were great and wifi was solid, no cable but we picked up the local channels over our antenna. Verizon cell coverage was fine. The laundry had two washers and two dryers, at $1.75 each. It is about a 20 minute drive to Mystic, but aside from that, there is nothing immediately around the campground. If you're looking for a nice quiet campground to spend some time, this is for you. - pfogleboch
May 2015 - $48.00
Road to park has overhanging trees, but they've been "trimmed" by previous RV's. Dirt sites and roads make for dirty rigs, and the trees over the sites drop tons of stuff onto roof and awnings. Quite a few creepy-crawlies too, but all that's to be expected in the woods. However, the sites are very large, and the pond and grass areas are very nice. Very quiet area. Owners are extremely nice and helpful. Wifi excellent. Only a handful of sites can put up a dish (due to the trees). No cable, but could get a few channels with antenna. Phone service (Verizon) good. - OTR again

Nice campground, hardly a "resort". Fairly level grass/dirt back-in sites. Full hookup 50 amp available, which we used. Nice pool and lake side swimming areas. Pretty well maintained and not too far from I-95. For the bad side: No signage from freeway, state road or city streets. Not even the entry. The total COMBINED IQ of the staff must be in low 100s. They are absolutely clueless about EVERYTHING. Can't check you in, can't get you to a site, can't give you a receipt, can't explain why there is no WiFi when promised etc., etc. We are easy to please, this is not sour grapes. Save yourself the headache and stay somewhere else. - teepee51
May 2017 - $58.00
Campground was not crowded on the weekend we were there. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. It was early in the season so the campground is getting up and running. Only negative is the road noise at the site we were in. The 50 amp full service sites back up next to a busy highway. - RobS80
Aug 2016 - $50.00
What a wonderful place. Love the fact that it's the exact opposite of one of those big flat paved parking lot cg's. The winding (and hilly) roads add so much charm. The "alphabet" section we were in (site B) has tiered, level, wide, wooded FHU sites. Everybody and everything here is geared for your pleasure. For once I'm not complaining about having ANY tv. Can't wait for the opportunity to go back. - campiflo

The sites are fairly close together and are gravel with grassy weeds growing up in each spot, and there were pot holes and some were filled and some were not. The wifi was barely there, even though they park was not full. They charged extra for dogs, and require a deposit for their gate cards that we had to hand deliver late our last night so we could get the $10 deposit back. - Vipermanden
Jun 2018 - $80.00
This is a beautiful park with well maintained grounds. The roads are fine crushed gravel but very flat. The sites are well spaced and level. It's very easy to navigate with good roads into the park off the highway and big rig friendly inside of the park. The bathrooms are very clean. I didn't use the showers. 50 amp strong power, good cable channels and fairly usable WiFi although it did cut in and out on occasion. There have a nice laundry room here and some activities like a pool and game room. This isn't full of kid activities so if you're looking for a kid park this isn't it. It's very quiet and ralaxing. The staff was friendly on check in as were the other campers. Cell data speeds are excellent with both Verizon and ATT at 40 d/l. There's tons of things to do in the area. Mystic is a great town to shop and dine in and there are state parks with hiking nearby. Gillette castle is also cool. Everything you could need is easily accessible. - Jessie1975
May 2018 - $65.00
I have been coming here for 15 years and I have enjoyed every trip I have taken here! Every time we arrive at the park we are greeted sincerely by the owner. She truly is a great business owner who puts her customers' priorities before anything else. Every site in the park is large and spacious, has a picnic table, fire-pit and a grassy area to relax in the sun. I highly recommend this park to anyone looking for a high class resort for a reasonable price. Aces High RV Park never disappoints :) - Rogerd4568
