Wonderful campground with incredibly nice owners. It has an historic legacy from its days as a hotel resort in the mode of the one depicted in the movie "Dirty Dancing". The property has been rejuvenated into a clean and inviting campground with many sites offering full-services. Convenient to Hartford and Connecticut's Long Island shore points. The one caveat is to be sure to get directions from the owners. They warned us that following a GPS, which we use regularly, will be great until the "last mile". Coming from the south, we took I-95 to CT-9 to CT-82 to CT 149 to Moodus Road. We camped at GrandView CampResort & Cottages in a Motorhome.

Beautiful is a great word to describe the grounds. Well cared for. The section we stayed in were pull through and were close to each other and we were close to the cabins. For us the negative was a lack of bushes or anything else to allow some privacy and sound blocking.
I understand some people love open campsites but we weren’t enjoying facing a loud family reunion staying at the cabins right in front of us.
But we would come back if we needed to stay in this area again We camped at GrandView CampResort & Cottages in a Travel Trailer.

First be sure not to follow GPS if you're coming from New York or West of Moodus - Neptune Road is closed with bridge washed out. The people are very nice and very accommodating - unfortunately it rained a lot while we were there and the first spot they gave us was muddy and had huge puddles so we had to move. It's a small campground but very clean - our site was level with gravel. We were at the top of the hill. There is only one way in and one way out and it's single lane. The wifi is virtually non-existent and we got one over-the-air TV station (ION) so if you're going for peace and quiet it's excellent. There is no grocery store in town but some very interesting places to visit. There is no laundry and there is only one trash bin down by the office. The showers are clean but very tight. Doubt we'd be back to this area but because of remoteness we wouldn't stay again. We camped at GrandView CampResort & Cottages in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed for 4 nights. Nice CG with pool and game room. CG is small with not a large number of sites. What I really like was how quite it is (when they are not harvesting hay). We were in the upper area, wifi signal was very low but speed was good if you could get a connection. I think the rate is high for this campground also an 8.9 is generous as of this review. The ladies running the CG are very nice and eager to help. Sites are gravel but level, water pressure OK at 40psi. Cost would stop me from staying here again. We stayed at this campground for a few days over Columbus weekend. Our site was gravel but we sunk in and had to relevel twice. They did get an unusually large amount of rain a couple of days prior to our stay, so that probably contributed to the issue. We very much enjoyed our stay and even got a fireside story from one if the hosts. We would definately stay here again. We camped at GrandView CampResort & Cottages in a Motorhome.

We stayed at GrandView for 12 days in an RV. It is a beautiful campground in a lovely little CT town. There are spacious sites for tents, RVs and also many cabins. The couple that runs the campground is friendly, gracious and very helpful. They take pride in the upkeep and treat everyone like family. The 50 amp spaces were in the open, so no shade. But, the beautiful campground makes up for it. They have a nice pool, a game room, a loft with board games, etc. The only amenity we missed was a laundry. We will definitely stay there again if we are in the area. We camped at GrandView CampResort & Cottages in a Motorhome.

My husband and I stayed overnight on our trip up to Maine and on our return home. The park is very nice and the staff very friendly. We didn't use any of the facilities as we didn't arrive until late afternoon and left early the next morning. We were very pleased with our site both times and would definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped at GrandView CampResort & Cottages in a Travel Trailer.

Park is quiet and well kept and good customer service. Roads are all maintained gravel and dirt but some tight turns. There were trees all thru the campground but the site we had was open up on a hill, so we were easily able to get satellite service. They escort you to your campsite. Our campsite was open, grass, gravel, dirt, level with 30 + 50 amp service, fire pit, and a picnic table. We had planned to stay 3 nights but could not get Sprint or ATT cell service. We travel full time and the rate here for what you get was very high. We camped at GrandView CampResort & Cottages in a Motorhome.

Great park. We arrived during the eclipse. Owners had glasses for us. Wow, what awesome people. From check in to check out, we loved it here. The staff, the location & we had great weather. The camp has new 50 amp spots. We had no issues at all. We are in a 45 bus pulling our SUV, no problems. The camp provided an escort to the spot. The camp store is well stocked with goods and great conversation. We cannot say enough about how wonderful the owners and staff are. Thank you for a great stay. Quiet campground. Site are open and level. Owners take a lot of pride in the campground. Not much in the way of activities but there is a pool, arcade and a room above the office with books, board games and puzzles. Bathrooms are clean and showers are free. Campstore has basics, there is a small market and a few restaurants close by. We camped at GrandView CampResort & Cottages in a Travel Trailer.

This is a great campground! Stayed 4 nights. Was supposed to stay 6 nights but we were delayed two days due to unplanned maintenance on our tow vehicle. Super nice and helpful owners. Called and spoke to a member of their team and she adjusted our arrival date with no problem and didn't charge us for nights missed. Beautiful country setting! Very clean restrooms! We have a 39' fifth wheel and prior to our arrival the same lady recommended we take Rte. 2 out of Hartford to exit 16 (Hwy 149). The GPS tried to turn us down several different roads but we took Valerie's advice and remained on 149 all the way to N. Moodus Road. Glad we listened. We drove some of the other roads the GPS had recommended after unhooking and there is no way I would have wanted to go those routes with the camper hooked up. We were fortunate to stay here the week after Memorial Day and there were only four other campers in the park so there was plenty of room. We were on site N5 which was very level. The sites beside us were very tight but it didn't matter so much since the other campers weren't right beside us. Pool was great! Water pressure was marginal. Wireless very weak at our site. Verizon was back and forth from LTE with 2 bars, to 3G, to an occasional 1x and back again. Will definitely stay here again if in the area again. The only reason I give it a 9 rather than a 10 is the closeness of the adjacent sites, the marginal water pressure. We camped at GrandView CampResort & Cottages in a Fifth Wheel.

We held a family wedding here in their hall. The entire staff was wonderful, extremely helpful and accommodating. We can't say enough good things about them. The grounds are lovely with a pretty view. The restrooms were clean. We rented most of the cabins for guests who found them very comfortable. Its a very peaceful place. A work in progress. A very nice setting - mostly open field on a hill, but it needs some work which the owners are currently in the process of completing. The primary concern we observed were sites that were not level. Also trees are not trimmed high enough for big rigs.

Some sites are grass, some are gravel. Older grass sites are OK on width. Newer gravel pull thru sites are rather close together. Leveling is currently a problem. The newer sites were being re-leveled while we were there, but even with the releveling it looks like longer rigs may still have a problem leveling. Maneuvering with big rigs is not great, but doable - some of the newer sites have pretty tight turns into the sites.

Big rigs should come in from CT-20 as the bridge in East Haddam (coming in from CT-9) has a sharp right turn at the east end of the bridge. Big rigs using CT-9 will likely need both lanes to make the turn. All rigs should approach the campground from CT-149 and not from CT-16 (a very tight u-turn is needed to get into the campground when coming from CT-16).

Power OK, water pressure low at 32psi when running (50 psi static). No sewer in our site but honey wagon is available for a fee. T-mobile no service, Verizon 1-2 bars LTE (sometimes only 3G) with adequate speed on LTE, no data with 3G. Campground WiFi decent signal and speed, but campground was nearly empty. WiFi did get very sluggish in the late afternoon. No problem with satellite access.

We would consider returning. We camped at GrandView CampResort & Cottages in a Motorhome.
