Oct 2009 - $30.00
This is a mostly seasonal park with many old run-down units. The access roads within the park are in awful shape with potholes and overhanging branches. They need to do better with making people pick up after their dogs. Many remains lying about. You must travel through several residential neighborhoods before reaching park. The literature says it is big rig friendly, but we do not agree. We will not stay here again. - birdlady4810

This campground has definitely changed for the better since the last review that was left in 2003. My husband and I (and our cats) really enjoyed this campground and we highly recommend it. We've been to many campgrounds and this is one of our favorites. It is in a very nice neighborhood in Tolland, CT. We ended up staying for much longer than we had originally planned. When you first pull into the campground the sites are out of view. Beyond the office you will drive down a lovely pine tree-lined road beside a small lake- beautiful setting. One of the owners was frequently, deligently attending to the upkeep of this lake (which allows swimming). There is a great selection of wooded or open sites. For the children there is ball field, playground, rec hall (with video games, pool tables and more) and the lake. They also have propane available and a small general store. Furthermore, the restrooms and grounds were always clean. We saw a maintenance man at the restrooms everyday as well as someone attending to the grounds. The staff and owners were so friendly. They truly went above and beyond- great people. Definitely give this one a try! - bandh

An older RV campground. Convenient off I-84 Exit 70. Pull through site was a sharp curved site that was difficult to maneuver through it because of trees and difficult to level. 30/20 Amp service with water. Utilities located on the wrong side of RV, required extra water hose. Dump station on site. No WiFi, 3 bar/4G Verizon service. No cable, didn't check OTA channels. Cash or check only. 70 to 80 percent seasonal residents. Fire pit too close to RV to use. Lake with swimming beach. - Bburgbrewer
Aug 2018 - $45.00
This was interesting as they are listed in the PA book and also listed on the web site but when we arrived they said they no longer accept PA or anything else for a discount so we paid the full price of $45. This was too high for water and electric (no sewer). We did look at the dump and we could not get there because of a very tight turn and very low branches. The site was not level, but did notice other sites that did appear to be level. The positive item is that it is a pretty easy on/off the interstate. - Al and Anne-Marie
Jun 2017 - $35.00
The rate reflects PA + $5 for a pull through site. Access is very good with it being only a short distance from I-84. We were running a little late, but when we called approaching the campground, someone came out and directed us to the site. Very much appreciated. The site was reasonably level and had a newly installed electrical box with 50 amp service. The water outlet was another story however. The faucet was on the passenger side of the site, with a garden hose attached and run under the site in a PVC pipe sleeve to the drivers side. It was serviceable, but using a garden hose for potable water is not a good practice. There are no sites with sewer connections making the $60 normal rate, way out of line. Okay for an overnight at the PA rate. - Good Vibes

Overall the park was enjoyable nightly music was fun, and other campers as always were very friendly. Staff I would say not as friendly though and a bit over the top about company and extras. We were there for Memorial Day and had a cookout planned for Saturday afternoon. We needed extra sleeping quarters so we set a tent up on our site and were charged $100 extra to have that up plus extra per person to stay in this tent on our site. My son who arrived with us was charged extra when he arrived back for work on the 2nd day. Just seemed unreasonable to pay $400 to say for a weekend of camping. Very much enjoyed it but staff was not too accommodating is all and I have camped many places so will most likely not return. - phiggy
Aug 2015 - $40.00
Way off the Interstate transiting hilly, curvy and narrow roads. We stayed hooked up in a back in spot in upper field. Nice country setting. Even though quite a ways from interstate we will stay again if in the area. Moose motif is fun for the kids. - KilaH
Aug 2015 - $58.00
Narrow, hilly, curvy road to park. Back-in grassy site was too slanted to allow us to level without taking wheels off the ground. Utility connections were convenient, water pressure was fair, Verizon cell service was good. - jbrucemagon

It is clear the owners love this piece of land. We didn't use any services while there as we are self contained and spent most time with friends and in Hartford. Spacious and beautiful. Well maintained. Sites could be better marked. Looking forward to our next stay! - User2747
Jul 2017 - $45.00
Cash and check only. It is a little off the highway so it is not easy off, easy on. We stayed here for one night and were parked sideways out in a field. Had plenty of room and the grass was well maintained. Did not drive in the rest of the park, we were right across from the tent camping. Only needed one night so we were satisfied, but would not stay for any length of time. No sewer and could not get satellite, 30 amp service, no wifi. The gentleman in the office was friendly and even came out to help us move some tables to so we could park. Think $45 is a little high for what you get. - Old Farts
May 2012 - $40.00
The owner of this campground is a wonderful lady! She made us feel like we were family during our visit to Mineral Springs. We loved the large property and took some beautiful walks around the campground. We didn't like all of the seasonal campsites--some end up looking a little dumpy in our opinion. We also felt like the campground as a whole was a little rundown and needed some fresh attention. Though we didn't go into the bathhouse, we agreed that we probably wouldn't want to because it looked so old. With that said, the kindness of the campground owner made our family feel so welcomed and we left our stay with very happy family memories. - User2536

We stayed at Brialee for the weekend march 31. The staff was friendly and efficient. very clean and in order. They have a new set of managers since last we stayed. I would recommend for everyone. - campercrazy1
Jun 2016 - $20.00
This campground is awesome! The staff are friendly and courteous even when others are not. They work very hard at providing a safe, happy environment for the children with so much to do literally every hour on the hour on weekends. So many things are free where other campgrounds charge for this. You should see how many children get face paintings and airbrush tattoos complimentary of the park. The owner Brian has made so many improvements (not that they were necessary) just to provide a spruce up of bathrooms, laundry facilities and even pond improvements. The new managers are so approachable and caring as well as available to others, as were the managers before them. My children enjoy the pool, beach and all games and facilities and I have never seen rings around pools as cleanliness is high priority of the campground staff and the seasonal campers. My kids now camp here. - Pat A

Friendly, very helpful staff moved us to a better site. Family friendly, but not overly crowded or rambunctious. Many friendly seasonal folks. Immaculate grassy fields, with clear brook nearby. Gray dumping at site, but two dumping stations on the way out. T-Mobile coverage, non-existent. Verizon okay. Would definitely come back. - Live Riveted
May 2018 - $42.00
I have gone to this campground because we have a rally there every year and return every year because of the service and pavillion they provide. I have never been disappointed, the service is great, the owners are present and ready to help with any problems. Once again we had a wonderful weekend. We will return next year once again! - rversandie
Oct 2017 - $50.00
The campground is well maintained. The electricity is top notch. Honeypot available for $. There are 2 dump stations available for free. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed at this park as a seasonal May-Oct. Weekends are busier than during the week. It was lots of fun to watch the weekenders and enjoy their fun. Very nice peaceful place. We will be back to visit this campground in the future. - Lori K_

Oct 2018 - $35.00
This may have been a nice campground at one time, but it has become run down over time. Almost half of the sites are seasonal and about half of them are starting to look like trash heaps. The riverside sites are hard to back into because they have rocks and logs on the side of the road which limits your ability to turn. We got our 30-foot trailer in eventually, but I don't think a longer trailer would fit. The wifi is super slow (unusable) and we had a weak TMobile signal. We had an area of clear sky so no problem pointing our satellite dish. The staff here are really friendly, but there is definitely a communications problem. We received a call before we arrived telling us they had to shut off the water to some of the sites due to cold weather and they were going to move us to another site. We were also told that the water might be shut off to all sites at night if it was going to get below freezing. No problem. We could fill our fresh water tank and use it at night. When we arrived we found they had moved us only 3 sites down (on the same water line) and were told the water was off at all sites and it was staying off. That would have been nice to know that before we arrived. I carry water in my jerrycan across the park for 2 days only to discover the water had been turned back on. To conserve water, I decided to use the camp showers. Big mistake. They are coin operated and the coin machines don't work in some of the showers (which you only find out after losing your money). The showers are not heated (neither are the bathrooms) and once you find one that works, there is no way to control water temperature. The circuit breaker routinely flipped even though we were not using much power. The playground equipment looked old and outdated. They need to trim the low hanging tree limbs. We watched campers crack limbs when trying to drive to their site. The campground is badly in need of maintenance. If you have a choice, I'd recommend you stay somewhere else. - Chuck Shrader
Apr 2018 - $36.00
If I focus on the scenery surrounding this campground, the steep, rocky hills, the babbling brook, the woodland just receiving spring's first touch, then I can say that this was a good week. If I think about the specifics of my site and experience, I come to a different conclusion. When I arrived, no one was there to check me in or point me to a camp site. After half an hour, a staff member, friendly but without authority to made decisions, was able call the manager, who pointed me to a site. It was a back-in, not the pull-through I had arranged, and it was right across the lane from a dumpster, so I had to set up in a cloud of fresh spring flies. The site was nice and wide, and I backed in with little trouble, but the surface was soft and muddy with recent rains. The manager did call on me later to apologize, but it took a third contact to actually get the receipt I asked for. I had earlier posted the address of the park to Netflix, in order to receive DVDs from my queue. They discouraged that address, due to past frequent returns of shipments, so I decided to do without Netflix DVDs for a week. The upshot is that the park suffers from weak management. There seems to be a lot of work going on in the park, but what happens in the office is slipshod. My site had full hookups, though the water pressure was low. The rocky hills interfered with cellular service, so my wifi was weak, but still good enough to stream movies through my Apple TV. Despite the management issues, I had a reasonably good week at Nickerson Farm Family Campground, though I would look elsewhere before going back. - Jim Fulton
Apr 2018 - $35.00
This is our yearly return visit to Nickerson Park. Geography at the campground is level with open and shaded areas. Our W/E hookups were in good working order. We did not try the WiFi but good signal on our Verizon cell phone. Campground is about 40% seasonal, most seasonal campers were in good shape but a few were showing some age. Interior roads are packed dirt, level and easy to maneuver. Maintenance staff was especially helpful on resolving some issues. Most sites, especially the non river sites have enough space where backing in should not be difficult. Campground is clean and decently maintained. Would certainly return again or recommend this place to anyone. - mdcamping

Oct 2016 - $35.00
Beautiful campground right on a quaint river. We were here as the trees were turning colors. Owner was super helpful and friendly. We were the last group of campers for the year, as they close the day after Columbus day each year. We pull a 40' fifth wheel. Some of the sites can't accommodate really large rigs. Our back-in site was quite suitable. - dave398rls
Jul 2011 - $40.00
We camped here in a fairly large group (7 families) for the Fourth of July, and the campground was completely full! The seasonal folks were extremely friendly! Some in our group had riverside sites and they did a great job keeping our group as close together as possible. Wish there was a bit more grass in the shady sites and that the electrical was more stable. We consistently had brown-outs and lost power several times. All in all, the group decided we would stay here again! - JBaird
Oct 2008 - $35.00
We camped here at the end of their season. There were only a few other people camping while we were here but all the other sites were filled with empty seasonal campers which was a little strange to us. It was a nice place and the owners were nice. The kids enjoyed the playground. The stream was nice to see from our site. Could be a little crowded when the campground is full of people. The sites are gravel. The bathrooms desperately need to be updated. - RFamilyCamping

Aug 2018 - $42.00
Very rough interior roads, jacks sunk into soft ground, low voltage, (115-116), surge protector showed an open ground when we arrived. Maintenance arrived in 3 minutes and repaired. I was impressed. This campground uses a 2 pipe sewer system. Gray goes into a leach field. Black goes into a 50 gallon tank that is pumped out by staff as needed. Gray water is leached into the ground for irrigation. Beware! You cannot open your gray water valve normally and empty any accumulated water in your tank. It has to trickle out or will bubble out of the pipe onto the ground. Owner was unapologetic and said I had the instructions for the two pipe system. True, but they said nothing about not being able to open your gray valve normally. She said the instructions said to ask questions. I said I didn't have any. I followed the instructions exactly. She said they always talk to the men because the women don't get it right anyway. My wife checked us in. They didn't talk to me and I am not sure I cared for the demeaning remark about my wife and women campers in general. I visited with the other owner earlier and he was fantastic. Bottom line she screwed up by not giving me enough information and then assumed that "aggressive defensive" posture when I said they needed to update the instruction sheet. She said in 31 years nobody had complained about the instruction sheet. Oh well. I have been camping 50 years and have not run into "full" hookups where you couldn't open your valve normally. Should I have known that??? I don't think so. This was all about communication or the lack there of. Be informed about sewer. - Sons an
Aug 2018 - $36.00
We liked the park, the folks were friendly enough. Our parking spot was cramped in a corner next to a unit. Then they boxed us in with another rig the next day. Had to ask the unit people in front of us when we got ready to leave after 3 nights. Not too impressed with those things but it turned out to be a pretty nice park. Kind of a mixed bag. Liked the pool, we were able to get satellite TV which was important to us. We were not too far away from a couple surrounding state capitals so that was good. Dump station was fine. We camped in a motorhome. - rwarner22
Aug 2018 - $36.00
Separate connections for gray and black water. Instruction sheet supplied on how to use. We had no problem with the separate sewer hookup. Office provided clear instructions about gray water & black water connections. Nominal voltage 114 with one A/C on. Most short term parking is in an open field next to a nice pavilion. We had a shady, level site next to trees. Due to water restrictions (wells), has pay showers. The handout "campground rules" does not mention this but should have. Very convenient to Sturbridge/Sturbridge Village. We would stay here again. - Lincolnland Travelers

Sep 2018 - $40.00
This is great little campground. The owners are awesome and very friendly. Park is well manicured and clean. Not a ton of things to do but they make a very good effort to make the weekends interesting with events and games. Lots of hiking trails all over and not far from the Town of Sturbridge. Nice place to relax and chill. Quiet hours very well observed as the campground seemed to go to bed around 9:00 pm. Try to avoid Dean Hill Road as your route as it's very steep and curvy. Take East Hill Road instead, it may add 2 miles to your trip but a much better ride. Gray water only but dump station available on exit. We will go back next year. - Thomas Beau
Aug 2018 - $38.00
We stayed in the overflow parking area. I never walked around in the park itself. The road in has many turns and we wondered what would happen if another MH was coming from the other direction, very narrow in places. We had this very large field all to ourselves which we liked. We stayed an extra day because one of the pups got sick and had to take it to a vet. Many families there. The two pools and basketball court were close to us. - Sunnie-Wheelhouse
Aug 2017 - $38.00
The park is located in the forest off the beaten path. The highway to the park is narrow, so drive slow. The staff is so helpful and are the nicest people! We liked them all. They also take you to your camp site and assist with parking your RV after registration. It is quiet park, and very nice and clean. We had site O11, which was an excellent site with 30 AMP, water, and a grey sewer. We had a brick fireplace in a raised seating area for our campfire. There was small site lights too on posts. They have a dump station for your black tank. We relaxed and enjoyed our stay here. They have a store, pool, and activities for the kids. The laundry room was clean and inexpensive for wash and dry. There are electronic games, pool table, tv, and internet next to the laundry room. The only ding was the tree sap that got on our truck from the pines. Use the Gojo without the grit to remove it from your vehicles. We enjoyed our stay here, and we would definitely return if in the area again! - Lindy White
