This is the best rv park we have ever stayed in. The space between sites, the manicured grounds, beautiful views , concrete pads... The list goes on. The campground is a super nice size of 30 sites and all but a few are on the water. The camp hosts were not only friendly but very efficient. We camped at W.P.Franklin North COE in a Motorhome.

Interagency 50% discount rate for two nights. Site was a large, level, paved back-in site with on-site water and 50 amp service. Each site has a covered picnic table. A dump station is available in the park. We had good satellite reception and good Verizon cell and data reception. This is a very nice COE park that is convenient to Ft Myers. It is very quiet at night. We would stay here again. We camped at W.P.Franklin North COE in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Very clean, neat and orderly campground. Sites are on a concrete pad with a graveled patio with covered picnic table, fire pit and grill. Kayaks can be launched right at the campsite. Good cell service and satellite. There is no playground for kids. A boat ramp is in the park. The south side of the park (across the waterway) is a day use area. Also the ranger station there has good information about the lock operation. This is a very well run park. We camped at W.P.Franklin North COE in a Motorhome.

The long entrance drive into the park afforded a longer bike ride and dog walk area on a quiet road. Due to the lack of playground equipment and other scheduled child activities there were no children present when we were there. Nice clean, well organized campground. There were boat docks and boat launches. Very scenic river views from all campsites, they are all on the waterfront. Picnic table with a lean-to shelter. We will be returning soon. We camped at W.P.Franklin North COE in a Motorhome.

Lucky to reserve 5 nights in this awesome COE campground. AT&T LTE service good with at least 2 bars. We were on site 2 next to host, 20 feet to water edge on entrance side. Don't miss sunrise up river and sunset down river. We camped at W.P.Franklin North COE in a Fifth Wheel.

We spent 3 nights here in a travel trailer. The campground host was very friendly and the grounds were very well kept. The bathroom facilities were clean. We love staying here on the river side watching the boats go through the locks. It is quiet and peaceful with lots of wildlife viewing. One of our favorite places. This is a very clean and quiet campground. I can see why it is so hard to get into. We had site # 10 right on the peninsula and across from the bath house. There is no sewer here otherwise it would be a 10 rating. This is a relaxation place or a home base for those who want to explore the area. All but the pull through sites sit right on the Caloosahatchee River. We spent 3 nights here and will definitely stay here again since it is so close to home. We were in a 30 ft travel trailer and had plenty of room. We camped at W.P.Franklin North COE in a Travel Trailer.

This campground is located on the north side of the lock on the Caloosahatchi River. We live in Lehigh Acres Fl about 15 miles from our home. We love being on the River but cannot afford a home on the river. So we do the next best thing, We camp on the river. This campground is always clean and well taken care of. The restrooms and showers are always clean. Most of the sites are angled off the road for ease of access to back into the sites. This angle gives the sight a lot of privacy and an open view of the river. We have stayed in sight 23 and have also stayed on site 9. We have scheduled to go back at the end of September, October, and beginning of December. There are a few pull-throughs. The Camp Hosts are great and very helpful. They come by and check and see if you need anything. We highly recommend this campground. We camped at W.P.Franklin North COE in a Travel Trailer.

Another fine COE site. Beautiful grounds and right on the canal. Gravel patio and concrete driveway. Only one washer/dryer and that wasn't handy. A lot a channels on the antenna and clear view for satelite. We camped at W.P.Franklin North COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

WP Franklin Locks was a phenomenal campground. There are only 30 spots and, at first glance, they look a bit close together. However, most of the sights offer pretty good space and they are easy to get in and out of. There is water/electric at each site with a convenient central dump station. The camp hosts were incredibly nice and they had all kinds of suggestions for us rookie campers. Plenty of parking and easy in and out if you have visitors in the area that want to come by for a BBQ or something. Very clean restrooms and a spotless laundry facility as well that takes credit cards. All sites have water views. We were in site #10 which was right on the point and looking out at the Caloosahatchee River. Phenomenal. Each campsite has a fire ring, charcoal grill, and little covered picnic table enclosure. Wonderful campground! We camped at W.P.Franklin North COE in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a very nice, very clean campground - concrete parking pads and gravel area with covered picnic table. Almost all the campsites are waterfront, except for a couple of non reservable sites. There are trees but many are not larger enough to shade campsites. More shade in the older section to the east of the entry. Bathhouses were spotless - there are 2, one is smaller and older. There is a boat ramp and fishing pier - some locals do come in to fish. During the winter season, this campground fills with many snowbird retirees, who stay 2 weeks, then move to Ortona Locks. I recommend reservations during this season. We camped at W.P.Franklin North COE in a Motorhome.

Park has nice level, paved sites. Can watch boats go through the lock at the adjacent Okeechobee waterway. Most sites are waterfront. Rate reflects Golden Passport 50% discount. We camped at W.P.Franklin North COE in a Motorhome.
