ANTS, ANTS and more ANTS - BEWARE We stayed in this campground for 3 long nights. We picked this campground, in an emergency, due to a death in the family and needed to be as close as possible for four days. It was the only site they had available. After our first night we noticed some ants in different areas throughout the trailer (no big deal since after all we are camping). By the second day we were loaded, kitchen, bathroom, entry doors and some even managed to get into our bed. The ants were crawling all over the outside connections, electrical box and cord, water hose. In all our three years camping throughout the U.S. we have never encountered such a problem. Luckily Walmart was near by to purchase Home Defense at 7 in the morning (which we never used since we never had too). As I was spraying the outside of the camper the neighbor next to me came over to inquire, told him what was going on, and he said "yeah I spray all the time to control it". We have been spraying the camper outside and in, multiple times. They got into our food cabinets and walls as well. After 5 days of continuously spraying everywhere I think we have finally gotten control of it. Majority have been killed off. The sites are not more than 5 feet apart from one another, that didn't matter as we just needed a full hook up to sleep. One positive - the bathroom and showers were clean, though did notice some ants there as well. Hook-ups: Electrical - Back Right, Sewer - Back, Water - Back left - SusanZ
Jun 2014 - $50.00
This is one of the worst parks we have visited and the most expensive. The sites are cramped, unlevel, full of weeds and ants. When we put out our slide out we almost hit the trailer next to us. The front office person did not seem happy about answering any questions we had. There is also a train nearby which makes sleeping difficult. Overall it was an unpleasant experience and I would strongly advise people to look elsewhere to stay. - fontina
Nov 2009 - $42.00
Despite the bad reviews, we needed a place to hook-up and stay nearby, while visiting family for the holiday. This is definitely not a place for kids. Don't even bother to come with kids, because you will get the stare down look from the nearby neighbors. The other reviews are true, but if you are just looking to hook-up and not planning to stick around the park that much, it's probably fine. Apparently, the summer is pretty dead here, but we are here just before the holiday and there are a ton of snow birds from Canada; mostly over 55 community. We arrived after 8PM on a Sunday and made it to our campsite OK. A lot of permanent or long term residents. When my kids jumped out the RV to greet their grandfather, that met us at the park, the neighbors came outside a little disgruntle at the noise (which wasn't that loud), but since they obviously are not use to kids here, we seemed to be disrupting their quiet kid less park. Since we are not Canadian and in our 30's, we definitely seem to be the topic of conversation in the park. It's actually pretty funny that as plain as we are, that we can be that much entertainment. We dropped the kids off with their grandparents and my husband & I are enjoying a little senior RV living and quiet time in the hot South Florida sun. - CasillasCampers

Stayed 14 days on our Thousand Trails membership. Tight sites but most people were nice. Did not have any fees. They were included in out Thousand Trails membership. Its Florida, plenty of golf, beaches and things to see and do. - Ladder187
Jan 2018 - $84.00
Dramatically overpriced parking lot. Overwhelming majority of residents were French/Canadian and not friendly at all. Please do not stay there. Only shining star was the staff who tried her best to accommodate a site large enough to open my 3 slides. Overall location was good, water was bad but that's Florida not the parks fault. No free Wi-Fi but you could purchase. Streets in the park were narrow but maintained well but my site was not in the best of shape. - ewald628
Nov 2015 - $65.00
We were schedule to stay there for 3 days. The space we were put in was a paved parking lot with sewer, water and electric. (6 places in a row with lines. We were put in between two other large RV's. The space was so tight that we could not put out our sides without hitting the other RV's. We called the office to see if we could get another site but the office was closed. We called the maintenance phone number and had the man come over to see the issue. After moving back and forth for almost an hour we finally got it to fit with the sides out. You could walk down our stairs and walk directly up our neighbors stairs. No cable was available, so we left the next morning. Fortunately our next location could take us earlier then planned so we went on. The electric, water and sewer hookups were placed well, but after looking at other sites, they would not have worked well either so we went on. Staff was great and understanding. They did have a good laundry room, pool area and everything looked clean. I wish the site we had was set up better, but other sites I saw looked tight also. They have one slab near the front and another slab in the back on the opposite side. I guess smaller RV's would be OK. Sorry but I would not stay there again, but others may find it acceptable. - al alvarez

Oh there was nothing good about this park. It was is in a sketchy neighborhood. There were people packed into spots like sardines. No grass. The rv spots are double stacked. It feels like you are in a parking lot. All the connections are on the wrong side so you have to crawl under the rv to connect. Our spot also had ants which then came into our trailer. You could not use coins for laundry you had to buy a card for $5 then load it. Laundry itself didnt cost much. We were parked in the back (space #40) and heard the trains ALL NIGHT LONG!! You couldn't open any windows or vents because the bugs would come in. NOT FUN TIMES!!! Our space was a 50 amp and we weren't told that. All spaces are 50 amp. It was supposed to be a 30 amp. So we had to buy an adapter from the office (same one sold on Amazon for $8) for $50 then return it for a refund when we were done with it. The check in and office was next door at a totally different park! There were also no signs before you turned into the park that the office was next door so you had to try and figure that out. The gates open automatically when you pull up, which then leaves the park completely unsecured. There are no amenities for kids or pets, but plenty of people drinking at the bar. - TravelinFam
Jul 2016 - $4.00
This park was a mobile home park, converted to RVs. The water and electric hook-ups are on the wrong side of every site. The sewer connection is in the middle of the site, under the RV! You have to crawl under the rig to connect. The roads are narrow, making it difficult to maneuver a big rig. We had to drive through two other sites to get out of our spot. Luckily the park was almost empty, so it wasn't a problem.
We booked 10 days through Coast to Coast, but only stayed one night. There is no security, the gates open for anyone who pulls up. The park is in a rough part of town, and we didn't feel comfortable staying there. - The Sauntering Sampsons
Oct 2015 - $40.00
This is a bare bones park for sure. But, the grounds and campsite were clean and didn't look bad. And we felt very safe in the neighborhood. Funny thing was I still have absolutely no idea where the office is. We never saw anyone walking around. We didn't need the restrooms but the folks next to us said they were recently remodeled and were very nice. We stayed one night and are not looking for area activities or night life. Since we couldn't find an office we just found a site with a 50 amp plug. We would stay here again. - User529

Aztec is a very large, beautifully landscaped, gated resort, complete with all the amenities one would expect at such a facility; two heated pools with spas, two lighted tennis courts, shuffleboard, volleyball, and pickleball courts, putting green, fitness center, and laundry facility. Sites within the resort are very large, with a comfortable space between them. Rental sites are available when not owner-occupied. As a renter, one can choose sites with a variety of amenities, from those with gazebos and outdoor kitchens to just a basic site with paver pads. After checking in, we were escorted through easily navigable streets to our basic site #161. We did not have much interaction with others staying at the resort, as everyone very much kept to themselves...to the point of not saying hi or waving when we greeted them. During our two-week stay at the resort, we used it as a home base while we visited Pompano Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, Everglades National Park, Biscayne National Park, Miami Beach, Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, and Boca Raton. - HRTravelers
Jun 2018 - $96.00
The sites, landscape and amenities of this resort are beautiful and well maintained. We were not particularly impressed with the service, upon checkin which was already chaotic we were givin the typical rules & service paperwork in French. Be cautious and maintain patience as the roads are narrow to navigate. The pools were enjoyable and I appreciate they had 1 geared for us families with kids. - These Itchy Feet - gottakeepmoving
Mar 2018 - $170.00
We stayed 4 nights. Paid $170/night plus 12% tax or $190.39/night. If you have FMCA, ask if they offer a discount. Reservation person on the phone was pleasant and capable. The resort was full and we were glad to have a spot even though it's extremely expensive. Aztec has all the bells and whistles of a first class resort including immaculate landscaping with healthy green grass, flowers and lovely palm trees. The amenities are fabulous. Be prepared to provide a drivers license at the guard gate upon initial arrival. Once inside at the office area, the staging area isn't well marked or particularly big rig friendly (park on the right side - you might have to block a driveway). Also it's on a curve which makes it tough to get straight to unhook your toad. I imagine this design "flaw" stems from it being an owners resort rather than an "RV Park". Check in was friendly and efficient. Staff is bilingual and helpful. We were given a calendar of activities (tons going on) including English speaking social gatherings. We were escorted to our site. Our site was all pavers, level, large (very long and very wide) with a hedge providing some privacy. There was trash on our site (my pet peeve) including food packaging and cigarette butts. No patio furniture. All hook-ups worked perfectly. Clear sky for Verizon cell, Verizon MiFi and DirecTV. Trash is picked up on site daily. I didn't see any recycling. Big air conditioned gym with all sorts of weights and numerous weight and cardio machines. I took a line dancing class ($2) and a Zumba class (free). Both classes were in French but its easy to follow if you can see the instructor. I personally found French speakers to be friendly when given the chance. There are lots of golf carts and bicycles zipping around. A surprising amount of kids too. Exercise caution. We enjoyed our time here and would love to stay again although we'd certainly have to take cost into consideration. - GottaGoNow

This is a parking lot wedged between a car dealer and another commercial business. It is right next to train tracks ands the train runs all night, blows the whistle as it's going by. We could see the train from our camper window and we were not in the space closest to the train. These folks are a royal PITA. They talk to you like you are a 3 year old. Their rules about pets are crazy strict. I don't need to be told 100 times to pick up after my pet and not to walk my pet through the "park" (-ing lot). They really should not allow pets at all as they are VERY intolerant. The people who stay in the park are very nice but the owners are another story. I have relatives in the area that wanted to stop by for a few minutes to see our trailer and the owners make it very difficult to have a visitor. My relative is handicapped and they have a handicapped spot and would not let them use it. There are plenty of empty visitors spots but they act like it's a BIG PROBLEM to use one. They charged for parking an extra vehicle and were very rigid about it (even though I was paying for it). I would not stay here again if I had another option. They store cars and trailers and they are all over the place. It is very cramped and not really kept up very well. Weeds that produce burrs everywhere so if you have a furry friend that you love, be careful, my pup's paws got full of burrs. The owners parked one of their 6 golf carts right behind our spot so every time I pulled out my car I had to navigate to be sure not to hit it. Neighborhood Walmart across the street. They do refill propane tanks. Way too expensive for what you get. - Monica C
Apr 2016 - $43.00
Small RV park almost exactly between Boca Raton and Delray. Friendly staff, very affordable, family owned business. Invaluable information from the staff about things to do and check out locally. Small campsite itself with a cement pad, a patch of grass and a palm tree per site. Also of note, train tracks running behind the site running 24 hours, disturbance to sleep and enjoyment of the park was negligible. Would definitely stay here again. - Jessica14Lynne
Jan 2016 - $28.00
The family that owns this RV park all work it daily. So it is very clean and well maintained.
However, there are no recreational facilities or activities here whatsoever. And the Wi-Fi is very unreliable and frustrating.
This park is on a very busy highway, has large car dealerships on both sides, and the rear is adjacent to train tracks.
You will be within walking/ biking distance of stores and restaurants. - mountainmaury

Had a confirmed reservation with a credit card that was already charged...pulled into the park to see another motorhome in our spot. Camp Host wasn't much help...offered us a spot next to the dumpster without hook ups. When we asked for a refund, she was more motivated to inquire why the others were in our spot. Come to find out, they had a reservation to arrive 3 days later but decided to come early & just take an open spot, without checking in at the office. There's no security so anyone can just pull in from the busy street. Accommodations are EXTREMELY TIGHT and roads very narrow to maneuver. We ended up leaving and dry camped in a parking lot 10 miles up the highway. Be warned, it's a DUMP...unprofessionally managed...and sketchy area. Not worth the risk to a $500k motorhome! - ouRVadventures
Feb 2017 - $55.00
My opinion of this place is it is an old storage yard with hook ups. Extremely tight starting at the entrance off the street, as well parking at site. Suggest you visually inspect site before paying, because of their no refund policy. No dog walk area, it is a hike not a walk to restaurants and shopping. - Capt_Ron1

Management was very helpful and friendly. Our site was level w/shade and room to park our 2 trucks. I did not use the restroom/showers but the laundry was always clean and well maintained. We would definitely stay here again. - dakotabean

Closest park to our kids! Nice sites, paved with FHU’s, shaded. Cons: Lots of iguanas who climb up in the trees and poop on the roof; had to wash the roof multiple times. Backs up to train tracks with frequent freight & Tri-Rail trains passing by day and night. - CorgiGirl

.The earlier review with glowing comments pretty much mirrors our experience. Noise is a problem, not so much from the infrequent trains but from the nearby interstate highway, and really only when you are outside and the wind comes from the highway. There is a nearby dog park with a walking trail which was really nice. We stayed here to attend a family wedding and would not hesitate to recommend the park. Definitely the best facility in this immediate area. It is heavily wooded but our site still gave us satellite tv access. - Grumpier99
Mar 2018 - $38.00
Our third stay. On arrival, reception was confused about our reservation, which proved advantageous. No multiple moves (the famous Easterlin Shuffle). Reception was pleasant. Bathrooms need updating and a cleaning crew that does a much better job. Sometimes had to go to other bathroom because the closest one was disgusting. Sites are attractive and more or less clean. It is in an urban forest so a few fallen leaves help with the picture. At least one's view is not mainly of one's neighbor's poo pipe! Park is for urban recreation; lots of big families visit on weekends. The camp is about 250 yards from a twin track main line railroad. Train whistles day and night; level crossing 100 yards from park entrance. It is also about 500 yards from the I-95, all 10 lanes plus on/off ramps. 24/7 dull roar and pollution. There is a new electric entry gate for night time control, but the park has no real security. It is surrounded by some dodgy areas. During weekdays, there is no entry charge, so anyone can and does come in. We were careful not to leave things of value outside our rig. Still, we didn't feel especially at risk. The campers themselves seemed to be either snowbirds or visitors. No people living in their rigs full time. Walks with the park are pleasant if buggy. Yes outside the park there are stores like Lowes, but good food shopping is a bit further away. Wifi speed is moderate and dropped out a lot despite being 100 ft from an antenna. No laundry facilities. - RHUnity

There is a nice swimming pool. The park is very old, ancient. The manager complains RVs are too large these days. Over fifty percent of the sites are occupied by long timers. Next to me was a retired postal worker who has been there over thirty years. The neighborhood is very bad. I was warned by no less than six longtime residents. Bicycles left outside are gone in the morning. My neighbors 'unit' has been broken into eighteen times. The space between RVs is measured in inches. My 'front yard' was occupied by an electrical transformer and assorted electrical equipment (see pictures). - The Penguin

It took some time to get into the resort because the gates were locked. Followed instructions for the intercom to get the office to open the gate and got an inaudible response. A maintenance guy eventually let us in. He was very helpful. There were two people ahead of us in the office and it took a while to register them. However, the office staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. We were given a pull through site with no neighbors on either side, so we had lots of room. Had there been neighbors, it would have been tight. Everything is heavily secured because the resort is not in the best neighborhood. Went for a bike ride outside of the resort and found local residents to be quite rude. Other than that, everything was OK. It was a very quiet camp and the pool was nice. This resort is a good staging area for day trips near Fort Lauderdale. There is not much to do inside the resort other than swim in the pool or watch TV. Note that the over the air TV reception is quite good. - John A Guderian
Oct 2017 - $19.00
This is an older Encore/Thousand Trails RV Park with a number of Park Models and full time RVers. The $19 rate is based on our RPI Membership. It is OK for a short stay to take in the sites of Ft Lauderdale and the Beaches. The sites have blacktop driveways and a concrete patio, but no picnic table. Full hookups with cable TV. Didn't hook up to the cable as we were able to get good over the air TV reception. Wi-fi is available for an additional cost, however I was able to use my mobile hotspot to access the internet. One of the pools was not open, but again as an older park it didn't look that appealing. The other pool was open and looked better. They had restrooms at the pools but no showers, other than an outside shower. There was a single shower at the laundry room that looked good. - Michael Kibler

RV Parks Reviews got their score correct - 4.5. I unfortunately did not check the rating of this park on RV Reviews and went by Good Sam's 9/9.5/8 - what a ridiculous score. We had 1 of the 10 pull-thrus among numerous seasonal sites. The asphalt site was severely cracked and narrow and uneven. The patio concrete was not constructed level with the surrounding ground. The concrete was poured directly over the ground making a step/trip hazard. I will certainly not stay at this park again. - The Aussie Cozzies

Kind of a worn out and crowded park. A lot of permanent sites, but many are cared for. Does not feel like a resort. But very helpful, friendly staff. Nice pool. Clean restrooms and friendly people. Quiet. We got an okay site across from office. Good value with Passport America. We would stay here again if in the area. - Deb and Chris

Rate is based on their high season (snowbird) rate. We chose this park due to its' proximity to the cruise port. We took an 11 night cruise and were concerned about leaving the RV unattended. Fortunately we were next to a seasonal person who I felt comfortable enough would keep an eye on our RV. We came back to a RV just as we left it. The staff was very professional & fair. The park is also part of a marina with boat slips for lease while you stay. Our site was "off the water" and was on broken down asphalt but, did have a nice raised patio. We didn't get to checkout/experience the amenities due to our very short time there before & after the cruise. - rracer5

We have a 25' motorhome. The spot we were assigned was too narrow for us to back in to. Let me start at the beginning. The person at the front desk was perfunctory. After I got back in our motorhome, I went back in to the office to ask about cable and wifi. No cable and she handed me a slip of paper with the wifi code. We drove to the site she assigned. I knocked on the door of the neighbor and asked her to move her car for fear of hitting it. Her car was properly parked. She was very nice and moved it, saying she didn't think we would be able to back in anyway. After several failed attempts, I walked back to the front desk. I asked for a different slot. I walked to the newly assigned slot to view it. A small trailer was parked in it. I walked back to the desk and suggested another slot that was open. She said "take it" and she would work things out. It was narrow, but we got in. The park seems to be mostly full-timers who are pressed for money. I may be wrong. I did see a $30,000+ motorcycle go by. As to wifi, I could not find it using a booster. If I were driving a Class A or pulling a fifth wheel, I would ask before making any reservation. Only if desperate would I stay here again. - Roboat
Mar 2018 - $65.00
Sites are close together, but then again we are close to Ft. Lauderdale and surrounding cities. Site backed up to a canal and amazing yachts passing all day. Streets are tight and very "rolling" so your RV will be rocking in and out. No place to hook up the tow vehicle so everyone backs up and blocks the exit road so the locals get aggravated. Most sites are occupied by winter seasonal residents and we definitely felt like outsiders. We waved, they looked and turned away. That said, the office staff were very nice. - Russell01
