9 RV Parks near Bonifay, Florida
Mar 2019 - $33.00
We understand these are new owners and need time to make improvements. We had a reservation but our assigned site was already occupied. With approval of the office, we parked in the only other unoccupied site that was long enough. Park roads are very rutted and narrow. Mostly long term residences and lots of construction vehicles on the property.
No grass or cable here. Also no picnic table or fire ring but then again no space to put them in.
This is an overnight and we’ll make due. - Boomerific
Feb 2019 - $39.00
Easy in and out. Staff was very friendly. - Agincajun47
Jan 2019 - $35.00
This is the worst park I have ever stayed in. Sites are not level. I understand about the recent storm but the management lets heavy equipment (track hoes, large bucket trucks) in the park. They start loading and unloading at 5 am. You won't get any sleep. Talked with the staff and they don't care. One morning they were trying to load a track hoe less than a foot from my pickup. Called owner and they still didn't care. Normal day for contractors is starting around 4am. Trucks being idle for an hour that early in the morning. The park does not enforce the quiet time hours. Do not recommend this park to anyone. - Ltyndall
Jan 2019 - $28.00
The landscape change post Hurricane Michael is dramatic. Before there was lots of trees and under growth. You could hardly see another site. Today, the campground is wide open. No longer the number of trees, and the under growth has been removed. The Rangers and workers obviously did a remarkable job with bringing the campground together. Most of the trail boardwalks have been repaired.
I like the new look of the campground, it’s just not as cozy feeling as before. The entire panhandle area suffered catastrophic damage, which is easily seen as you make your way to Chipley. Getting this park back open so quickly is amazing. We really enjoy our time here and we will continue to camp here. - Travelingcircus
Jan 2019 - $18.00
Falling Waters State Park is a nice little park in Chipley, FL, with Florida's highest waterfall. The campground is open again after post-Hurricane Michael clean-up. This is a simple, quiet place, with very nice staff and very active campground hosts. There are 24 campsites, each with a picnic table, water hook-up, 30/50 amp power and a fire ring. There is also a comfort station with showers, an ADA-compliant family bathhouse with 2 locking shower/bathrooms and a dump station. There are three concrete ADA-compliant pads and 2 tent-only sites. Our campsite was level sand. There are 3 short trails (1 of which is still closed by debris) and a lake with a sand beach (the weather was a little too cool for us to try this). We had a strong AT&T signal, managed to get a Dish satellite signal through the trees and picked up a good assortment of OTA channels. All in all, this is nothing fancy but I would definitely return. - Indybear
Jun 2018 - $27.00
This was an overnight for us. You go to this park to get away. It's very quiet, a couple miles off I-10. Roads are 2-lane nicely paved until you get to the campground loop, where they are a little more than single-lane paved and old. Trees are trimmed high. We had gravel pullthru #19, which had the utilities too far forward to leave the truck in front of the camper without interfering with the P/T next to us. VERY shady and sites are roomy. There is a playground and a swim pond and pavilion. Some hiking, fishing and a waterfall. Ranger was terrific and fair connection to VzW (no WiFi). - FreeWheeler
Nov 2018 - $26.00
Had to find a park quickly for a medical call. Entry road and sandy park roads are rutted. Sites on grass. Site 19 blocks site 18 and provides 15 amp only. Trees make maneuvers challenging. Watch for fire anthills. Can't comment on diving since we were not there for that. - snabo
Aug 2018 - $27.00
This is the first time I would give a campground a 3 out of 5 and go back. We really enjoyed the amenities the park offered. The spring is great and we got some bottom time (SCUBA) in every day. The campground needs some love. The grass needed to be cut and the dump station was out of order. If you stay here please note that the White Camping (water and electric only) and Red Camping are close to the spring and swimming. The Blue Camping is too far out back and felt too secluded. We were given a Blue site and we asked to be moved to the front since it felt like we were too far away. - trikeflyer
Apr 2018 - $25.00
I'm from Panama, and my family was down from Atlanta. We picked this spot to meet up with each other for a weekend. To be clear, this was a fun weekend, but make no mistake, this place caters to divers, not campers. Gorgeous springs, diving rentals, a swimming hole, lots of activity going on all the time. They also have cabins and houses to rent out. The sites are not clearly marked, but are easy enough to get in and out of. Kids had a blast in the water. No lifeguards though, so be diligent. Overall, we do plan to go back because of the diving/swimming portion where we can camp, too. But if swimming/diving aren't priorities for you... you may want to look to other places as the campsite is not the priority for this area. - JJGibbs
Jul 2016 - $25.00
This is one of the best RV parks we have stayed at!! The owners were very sweet, they treated us pretty much like family. They invited us into their home and we talked for hours. They would take my 2 year old daughter riding on their golf carts (of course I rode also).
The park was very clean, and quiet!! Laundry room was clean. My husband loved the lake/fishing!! Will definitely be back if we are near Geneva, Alabama again!!
They looked after me and my daughter while my husband worked during the day. When it would start storming they would check to make sure we were okay and asked if we needed anything!! Wifi worked great.
The owners kept the park very clean, he was always outside doing yard work!!! She kept the flower beds really pretty, hope we can visit with them soon!!! - Shelby Shoemake
Jan 2016 - $35.00
This place was not clean and very noisy. We were looking for a relaxing vacation and this place was anything but. Owners were rude and unfriendly. - Ron and Amy
Jan 2011 - $18.00
The owners have done an excellent job of cleaning up after the previous owners. Both are the kindest, most helpful and gracious owners we have encountered. Everyone is very friendly. The grounds are landscaped nicely and well kept. There are a number of long timers who are also helpful. They have added a club house for get together. Two docks available for fishing. Landing is available with a recommended $2 launching fee. The lake only allows electric motors - no gasoline. The campgrounds are literally out in the country closer to Geneva, AL than Defuniak Springs, FL. - MOexpat
Mar 2019 - $40.00
This park was hit hard by the hurricane last August but has been cleaned up and the owner is doing all she can to get it back to normal. Very convenient to I-10 good power and water. - Grumpa
Dec 2018 - $25.00
Vonda is what you want from a park owner. We were unable to complete our stay at the Hitchin Post, and she was very gracious in cancelling our reservation, with no question and no cancellation fee. When we are passing through Cottondale again, we will surely give Vonda a call and stay at the Hitchin Post. - Rancher RVers
Oct 2018 - $27.00
Stayed at this park shortly after Hurricane Michael hit the Panama City area and used it as my base to work in the local area. The park is designed around just an overnight stay and does not have any resort like attributes like a pool, clubhouse, laundry or bathhouse. You must be self contained to use the park, but it does appear that tents are present on the property (just no bathrooms in the park). Vonda, the manager/owner of the park is fantastic, accommodating and throws out the welcome mat for your stay (literally, its green and at your door). All park managers should have the positive attitude this woman has in spades. You won't find a nicer person to greet you when you arrive anywhere else. The park backs up to I-10 and is the overnighters/drive through parking area. Full hook up can be found in all parking spaces and power/water was great during our visit. Wifi is also available, but was broken due to the storm event and was being fixed at that time. Cell service is great (cell tower is next door) and there is Loves Truck stop at the same exit off I-10. Vonda will respond if you leave a message or text to the park if she doesn't answer. Great person. - wolffden
Oct 2018 - $45.00
We were there for their Halloween weekend. Have not had that much fun in a LONG time. Costume contest, hay rides, site decorating, site crawl. It was a blast! All the fellow campers were super friendly and got a chance to talk with the owners. Great guys and you can tell they work hard to make this place great. Wil. Definitely be back!! - NolesGuy86
Feb 2018 - $50.00
Older gay campground that is a little overgrown but the new owners are working on it. I typically would have given the campground a middle rating due to the newness but the owners have the attitude that if you don't give an outstanding rating don't bother coming back. So I cannot rate them above a poor rating as the $ value is lacking. $100.00 for 2 nights is extreme. The road into the campground is disturbing, the trash was never dumped from the garbage cans, the site is majorly uneven 8" drop had to use 2 "2 X 6"s & levelers and the sewer hookup was higher than the rig. - Campin Kayak
Oct 2018 - $22.00
There were four RV's total the night we stayed. The woman that greeted us in the office was very personable, helpful, and gave us a tour of the lodge where we checked in. As noted, your stay is 24 hours from when you check in. Nice now, but may cause issues when they have more business. Sites are relatively level and cement. Sky is open for satellite. My one complaint is the location of connections on the sites. They are located at the very rear. Our 43' motor-home and tow car were within 2-3 feet of filling the entire pad. Had we wanted to connect the sewer it would have required 30 ft of sewer hose. As another review stated, you MUST use a pressure regulator for city water. I checked it before connecting and read 120 lbs. That is the most I have seen in eleven years. - Westside
Oct 2018 - $23.00
We came here in mid September and could not believe what we saw. A completely empty RV Park. All 78 sites were empty. This RV Park is completely open, no shade anywhere. They spent a lot of money building this place and got it all wrong. The big wide slabs have settling problems where the utilities were buried. As a result our left rear tires came off the ground. Not all pads have this problem, but a lot of the sites I could see from our site did. Rows A, C & E all have afternoon sun on the windshield and curb side. Rows B & D have morning sun. Beware the killer water pressure, even with our water partially open, the pressure built up enough to blow open the pressure relief value on our hot water heater. That was a first for us. This kind of water pressure is not acceptable in an RV Park. Reservations work on a 24 hour basis, so if you come in early make sure you leave early. OTA TV was fair. Wi-fi was very good, but there was no one else here. - Bob and Inga
Jul 2018 - $22.00
A beautiful facility attached to a new construction B&B on the site of a former casino, now converted to a bingo hall. The price is fantastic for the amenities provided. A great place to overnight or stay while visiting Dothan. If you need WIFI stay close to the B&B. The signage at the highway entrance is not sufficient, so call ahead. The site was apparently intended to be "Branson" style, but the state shut down the illegal gambling. Reportedly lots of Nashville money invested. Not much else at the site except the bingo hall with "no-pay" slots. Close to Dothan. 24 hour access to the new construction B&B. - tom&kathryn
Sep 2018 - $32.00
Quiet park. Friendly staff. Lots of long-term campers. Trees definitely needs to be trimmed. Utilities worked well. Good for an overnight stay. - CanDo
Jun 2018 - $17.00
We called this park a month in advance to reserve a pull-thru with full hookups. We received a confirmation but when we arrived at the park we were told that we would only have water and electricity. I explained that we had made reservations for full hookups and were told that there was nothing they could do because other campers were waiting to move into the full hookup sites from the limited hookup sites. We stayed one night instead of the 6 nights that we had booked, and moved to another RV camp the next day. I would never have booked this RV park if they had told me that I could not have full hookups. I would not stay at this park again. - kingsransom51
Oct 2017 - $29.00
Clean, quiet and very friendly folks. Lots are spacious and offer some shade. Site surface is sand and features a picnic table. - Sara webb
