Like most Encore parks, this is an RV resort, NOT a campground. Many parks in Florida are designed for the multitude of snowbirds that come down from the cold, frigid north. They don't have very many spaces for transient customers, but that's really to be expected in this part of the country in the winter! We needed a night to fill in our stay at a nearby state park because we couldn't plan far enough in advance. This worked, but just barely. Because of our size, it was a challenge to get into our space. Fortunately for us the site was wide, because the roads in the park are narrow. Not much room to back up a 45' fifth wheel, but we managed. Restrooms were clean, and the park was very tidy. We wouldn't choose to come here again, but because we had an activity planned and needed to stay in the area we were glad it was available for the one day we needed it. - Denise and Glenn

I made reservations for this campground through my Thousand Trails membership, which I shall not renew because this is the kind of campground they feature: closely packed spaces, difficult to navigate, poor site maintenance, but lots of "resort" activities. Nonetheless, snow-birds and retirees seem to love it. They flock down by the thousands to nest in such places for the month or the season or the year. Not me! Ain't my type of place! I visited Florida as a kind of "bucket list" item. Now it's over, and I won't go back. - Jim Fulton

If you're looking for a campground, you'll be disappointed. If you're looking for a convenient location to see the Tampa sites, it's great. The park is clean, restrooms older but well kept. Sites are small and interior roads are very narrow. The employees are very nice and there's usually an activity almost every day. About 75% of the sites are annuals, but they're generally show models and the majority are well kept. - dseipel2

This park is for members of any Elks Lodge and guests of the members. The grounds are well-kept and it is quite conveniently located, just 3 blocks north of Highway 60. Upon arrival pick a vacant site, set up, get registration forms from a box near the entrance, fill out and take into the lodge when the bar is open late afternoon and early evening. - Bill Strong

This is NOT a resort. When making reservation, was not told the pool and work out room were closed due to the storm. Also was NOT told that the site was side-by-side, which means door faces your neighbor. As if that wasn't bad enough, there was very little room between units. My husband could literally stand with arms stretched and touch both 5th wheels. Thank goodness only there one month or we would have probably left early. We were literally at the edge of the parking lot with cars going by constantly, along with some strange activity in this parking lot late at night. Park is an old mobile home park with many old units and narrow roads. Granted, main part of park was closed from the storm but even if that were open we would have had trouble getting there as many trees and narrow roads. Park located at a dead end road through a residential area. Did have a small cement pad that did not line up to unit. Would not go back here. - Robbi
Dec 2017 - $45.00
We made reservations while traveling on the road to visit friends in Tampa. We also needed a place fairly close to Venice, Fl. Part of the advertisement for this place was that is is close to everything. It is. If you will not be staying at your camper much, this place will be o k to park. Other than that, not that great for camping. Camper sites are very tight, and neighbor's sewer was right outside our door. Site was better for motor home than 5th wheel, as we had to deal with a utility pole at the front of our site, which was "pull in, back out". See photos. I thought it a bit pricey for what was offered. - Doxie Mom

WiFi could be better probably won't come again not much to do. The sites were large with plenty of shade. The park was rustic but very relaxing. the staff was pleasant and helpful - happydaz

This is our third year to stay at Lazy Day. It is a great facility and we always enjoy our time there and the surrounding local activities. We were a little disappointed that meals were not included this year. We felt this limited the amount of interaction with fellow campers and cut down on opportunities for the facility to be utilized. Our site was not as clean as in previous years and front desk was not as friendly or informative. We did not receive a packet of information on activities for the week and had to ask about meal tickets. We were more aware of these things due to our past experiences. - Dennis Catoe
Feb 2019 - $44.00
We love staying at Lazy Days but there are some changes since our last visit. Lazy Days is now a publicly owned business. They no longer provide free breakfast or lunch at their "restaurant". The daily newspaper is still free but no longer delivered to everyone's site. You now have to go up to the newspaper box at the office. Still provide multi channel cable & easy access to over the air channels as you are very close to the broadcasting stations. Still provide WiFi. Nice pool. Exercise facilities. Cracker Barrel & Exit 10 restaurants on site. RV supply store & extensive repair & parts department as well as a large RV Sales department. Classes available also. Several dog parks, even a dog wash. Popular spot for rallies. Close to shopping & restaurants, Tampa & Brandon. Sites are small; room for your RV & park your tow in front of it. Even with the changes we still highly recommend it. - Connie's Co-Owner
Feb 2019 - $54.00
We have stayed at LD campground 2 years in a row b/c it is convenient to visiting Tampa family & friends. All sites are back in with a patio table & full hook ups. Several perimeter sites will accommodate our 45', Class A Entegra, however the site will only fit the RV. The tow has to be parked along side or in front of the motorhome. This makes for tight street traffic in some spots after sunset when most people return to the campground. During our 6 weeks, the staff was always friendly. Wifi is pretty good, not great. $2wash/$2dry at the Laundry. There are many rally groups in and out of the campground & Clubhouse, so sometimes the park is completely full. A RV wash service cruises through the campground daily & they are reasonable. The screened pool & spa are nice. The onsite restaurant, Exit 10, has reduced its hours and days. Nearby are 2 trucks stops, Cracker Barrel, Bob Evans and Lazy Days RV Superstore for service, sales, and accessories. Sites near the front of the campground get more highway noise than those sites toward the back of the campground. - 2SimsNanRV

Sep 2016 - $25.00
Staff very nice. Liked the extra slab with table. Easy hook ups. Only issue during stay was that it was noisey until 1 am. It was a holiday weekend so that may have been the problem. - Long distances traveler
May 2016 - $21.00
What a fantastic park! The park itself is beautiful, and well maintained. 24 foot wide paved roads made it easy to get our RV in and out. Plus we stayed in the back, away from incoming and outgoing traffic, which was light anyway. The staff is wonderful, and very helpful. There is no pool, but who cares! They have a giant clubhouse with great activities during the season. And the rates are the lowest in the area, we checked. We did our research and picked the best place, simple as that. The lots are huge! Not crammed together like other places. My family really enjoyed it. It' Plus all the restaraunts you could imagine are close bys just far out enough to feel like you are camping, but close enough to town to be really convenient. Thanks. - Sam Harris
Mar 2016 - $21.00
This park consists of a lot of year round campers. Some rigs are so old that they are green with algae. There are a lot of older RV's in this park! There are some snowbirds that stay here, and they are located in the outermost loop of the park that is a little newer than the rest. We stayed near the front of the park, and it was noisy: lots of noisy diesel truck traffic leaving at the early hours of the morning and a tractor compacting trash at 8 am every morning. For the price charged I would not call this a great place for transient visitors! It would be best to go somewhere else! - Howard Jaros

Nov 2018 - $35.00
I was here back in 2017 and had to come back for a month due to our reservation elsewhere "not panning out". I was hoping for some improvement from our last stay, but did not see any. Water here is TERRIBLE. We still have to change out our water filters every two or three weeks because they get so clogged up and affect the water pressure. The ground is soft and when wet, easy to get stuck in. They are putting in some concrete pads if you want to sign a two year contract to pay them every month. The noise from I-4 gets old real fast. All day and night you can hear the traffic. I know I will never return here again. - KennyGolub
Nov 2018 - $23.00
Sun RV Resorts has taken over what was originally 3 KOA, looks like MH parks. Most of the residents appear to be full time and where they have taken out old units the sites are now rented to transients. Ours was grass with a concrete pad that we parked on. FHU, spotty wifi and unreliable cable. All the facilities - pool, laundry and bath were very nice. - Hey You
Oct 2018 - $55.00
A very large RV resort with several empty spaces used for transient campers. The facility has all the amenities of other resort properties we have stayed at. Golf carts are permitted on the property. Water pressure average. Wifi was available but we did not use it. Tampa East is off I-4, 3 miles east of I-75. - DeRenzy

We moved our trailer here to prepare it for a long trip so we could do it with air conditioning. They guide you to your spot and offer to help you hook up. The park is mostly full-timers but there are nightly spots available. It is close to grocery stores, gas, restaurants, etc, because it is right in the middle of Riverview. The laundry facilities are next to the library they have. The pool has two spas, one hot and one body temperature. That is really nice! Our site was grass with a very broken cement pad but it was completely level. It was easy to back in to, no obstructions. Our spot did not have trees but many others did. - Islandcpa

Mar 2018 - $18.00
This is a fine little campground. It's inexpensive for senior citizens and has some very good campsites. We thought we had found a real bargain until the race track (or whatever it is) next door, started up early one morning. Motorcycles and mud buggies or whatever whooped it up for several hours. The noise doesn't seem to bother my wife as much as it does me, but I think camping should be a little more peaceful than a night at the races. Just me, I guess. It mercifully shut down well before dark.
Bathhouse was adequately clean and quite workable, but far from sparkling. Nice nature trail and springs. I like the one way roads, which mean that everyone doesn't have to pass by your site twice. Small number of sites means there isn't an excess of traffic to begin with. Campsites are of varying quality, but you get to pick the best of what's available, so if you don't like what you see you can move on down the road.
Our site had neighbors an adequate distance away but in plain view, so no privacy, but they moved after first night leaving an empty campsite. Some of the sites are much better than one we had, so rating would depend upon which you get. Several sites would rate 9 or better. Overall, we're glad we stopped in, and will likely do so again.
If they could eliminate the sporadic noise and spruce up just a tad, they could easily charge an additional $10 or more a night, even without discount, with few complaints. - jerry6

There are three parks in Hillsborough county that offer camping and this one is our favorite. It is perfectly located to everything Tampa has to offer and yet far enough away to feel tucked away from it all. Any full time or seasonal traveler will appreciate their no reservations - first come first serve policy. Arrive on a Sunday or early in the week and you are almost certain to get in. I would recommend calling the office the day before to check to see how many sites may become available. You can only arrive during business hours, though we've seen campers waiting to come in at 8:00 when the gate opens. The sites are all well laid out, all with power and water and a dozen or so with 50 amp. None of the sites have sewer connections, though a dump station is available. Our 36' fifth wheel would fit comfortably in 20 or so of the 45 sites. When you arrive you'll be able to drive through and see the sites available and then stop back in the office and pick the site you like best. When you are there you must experience a float down the Alafia River, which runs through the park. Here's a video we took going down the river. https://youtu.be/_NO4cpi02pw Bring your bikes too. They have a great bike/hike trail in the park as well as connect to the 20+ mile fishhawk preserve multi-path system. Bring your bathing suits too. You just have to take a dip in the clearest Florida spring, which the park is named for. - Two Lanes of Freedom
Mar 2017 - $24.00
Very quiet & relaxing. The staff were incredible! Nice and extremely attentive. The grounds were perfectly clean and the bathrooms were very clean. We stayed the weekend in our pop up camper. There was 30 amp & 20 amp (looked to be new outlets and box) where we stayed and water hookup. Outside of the park only 2 miles away is plenty of stores, shopping and dining - smoothiepimp

Old park built when RVs were smaller, so sites are barely adequate for larger rigs. Sites are dirt and grass. Ours was level and easy to access. Location is good for access to Temple Terrace, New Tampa, and Brandon, which is what we needed. Electric amperage was marginal (tripped circuit breaker once) and WIFI was fair to poor. Sewer connection was old style with no threads on pipe. Park was pleasantly quiet. - ramblin' vagabonds
Jan 2018 - $43.00
They didn't advertise as 55+, but they really are. They let us stay for the weekend for the RV show. Park is small, yet well kept, plenty of shade. They we're full for the weekend, and we had some issues with power. Temperatures were in the 50s; just planned on using the heat pumps and didn't fill the propane. About 10 pm the surge protector in our rig got low voltage from the pedestal, Second night things went okay until 4am. Would definitely ask about how full the park is especially during summer. - Some guy
Nov 2017 - $30.00
This trailer park used to be very trashy years ago. Has been cleaned up somewhat. Sites not level, close together, barely enough room for tow vehicle. Much knit picking by permanent tenants(majority of park). Laundry facility not worth using...dryers are just slot machines! Will not revisit! - Cat Woods

Nov 2017 - $47.00
This is a retirement community with what appeared to be 100s of winter residents and maybe a few dozen sites for campers. The location is several miles off I-75 but easy to get to. There's a clean swimming pool, pool tables, meeting halls and Bingo offered the Thurs. we arrived. Everyone we met was nice and welcoming; our neighbors came by to introduce themselves the day after we set up camp. Even a woman I'd describe as the community's "hospitality lady" came by to explain all the social events there, not realizing we were leaving soon. We used the bathroom/shower facilities next to the pool; they were clean. My only complaint was that the shower head was pointed at and could not be moved away from the shower curtain, so I had to be careful not to let the spray douse the floor of the area where I'd be dressing afterward. This appears to be the set-up at many camp grounds, however. The price of $47/night does not include internet; you can purchase it for $5/night or $10/three nights. At first I was ticked that I had to pay extra, but the internet service was so good that I decided I'd rather pay more for fast service than be lured in at some RV park offering "free internet" only to find out they've purchased the worst service available -- meaning, essentially, no service. I've run into this "misleading advertising" several times the past few years at smaller campgrounds. The price here was on the high side, I thought, but for the quiet, friendliness, pool and cleanliness, I'll stay here the next time we're in the area. - John_K
Jan 2017 - $45.00
Paved roads and cracked and aging cement patio under Spanish moss draped oaks. Nice woodsy setting although some traffic noise from nearby highway. Congenial office staff. Utility connections were convenient and good water pressure. Laundry was clean. Not so pet friendly. - Toltec
Feb 2016 - $28.00
The people are so friendly and activities abound. One word of caution. Don't purchase the "high speed" internet. We did and it didn't work at all. Just go to the club house and use the internet for free. - June Foster
