For a park with the owner on site, this park is not very well maintained. The pool filter system was constantly running, but the water was green and debris hadn't been cleaned out in a while. I admit is was too cool to take a dip, but this was bad. The park had a central TV antenna with a hook up at each spot, but it didn't work (neither mine or my neighbor). When I dumped my waste water, it backed up and over flowed at both my spot and my neighbor. I told the office about it, but they made some excuse that the dump for these 2 sites wasn't vented properly, so we shouldn't dump all at once, but slowly. Really? They didn't say a word about this when I checked in. Their web site and brochure advertise that the park is "gated". Well, the entrance gate is missing - probably inoperative. However, the "exit" gate works fine. The trash bins were overflowing, but didn't inquire as to why. Based on the "toys" I saw at the owners place, I guess this owner spends his time and money on his hobbies and toys, not on taking care of his business. This could be a really nice place. Each site supposedly had patio, picnic table and fire ring. Ours didn't have a fire ring. If the RV resort across the street (and I mean literally across the street) had vacancy, I'd have moved. Place across the street was much nicer and properly maintained. We camped at Angler's RV Campground (formerly Rainbow Country RV Campground) in a Motorhome.

This is clearly an older park, but reasonably well maintained. If you're looking for a "glamping" experience Angler's isn't for you. The staff was friendly when you can find them. Office hours were somewhat erratic. All utilities work well. Electric was stable, water pressure a bit low, sewer port clean and conveniently located. The campground WiFi was pretty good, although it would get overwhelmed from time to time. Our site was close to the "main" road which as main roads go wasn't very busy so road noise wasn't really an issue. The interior roads in the campground are pretty rough making speed bumps unnecessary. We were parked in a row of fairly shabby rigs that looked like they'd been here awhile. Not a bad place overall, but after looking around we discovered a few places that would have suited us better. I doubt we will stay here again. We camped at Angler's RV Campground (formerly Rainbow Country RV Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Cedar Key is a lovely small community. If you enjoy good clam chowder, be sure to stop at Tony's downtown and have a bowl of their award winning chowder. You'll be glad you did.

This was our first year as a snowbird and Angler's RV Campground was our first stop for a month. Our site was level and shaded..although January I wished it were sunnier :) had a nice pad to it. People were very friendly..although due to the temps didn't see to many outside (23 one morning) Liked our site..but not really suitable for our RV because of the number of slides we had so we couldn't back further due to a pole that was there and it would have interfered with our slide so the front of our RV was pretty close to the camp road.Liked the fact that no one was in back of us for privacy and although the main road was there it wasn't to noisy for us. They allowed boats on the sites if they were big enough as many campgrounds do not..unfortunately we didn't bring our boat. Nice dog park..Very quiet during the night. restrooms were all inclusive (toiliet/shower/sink) so you had your privacy. Store was well equipped with RV items if needed (which we did) so it saved time going 25 miles or so. Propane you could get on site also. Had a cable that you could attach to that was attached to a very high antennae for over the air channels..although we could only get NBC as a main network station Wifi we could not get at our site..so I used my 4G...A few dinners for activiites.. My suggestion is if you like TV..get some sort of satellite (which we plan to do) or have unlimted data on your cell phone to watch on your PC's. telephone signal was strong with AT&T. I will make reservations the next time we come to Fla for the winter. We camped at Angler's RV Campground (formerly Rainbow Country RV Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Dollar General for staples and extras was about 2miles. Gas/Convenience store across the intersecting street. Stated they had Pizza (think it was frozen with fresh toppings) that they cooked there. "shopping" district was in Chiefland approx 25miles where we got propane and groceries..various eateries. Cedar key was close by with some unique shops and restaurants.

We paid the Passport America rate of $16.50 a night for our two night stay. This is not an RV Resort and does not claim to be one, the hookups were good and sites were fairly level. We had no problem getting level, we did put blocks under the rear jacks, front jacks were on gravel. Hard packed gravel roads are bumpy, but no problems at slow speeds. We pulled thru an empty site and into a nice large grass / gravel site with a concrete patio and picnic table. WiFi signal was strong, but the bandwidth was pretty much maxed out during our stay. Usable, but not the best that we have had. Very friendly and helpful check in and we were led to our site. There is no cable here, they do have an antenna feed to the sites that works somewhat like cable. We picked up several networks and a weather station which was important as we fled the FL east coast when Hurricane Matthew was passing by. Very quiet at night. Anglers makes a very nice base for visiting Cedar Key. Overall we had a very nice stay and would not hesitate to return. We camped at Angler's RV Campground (formerly Rainbow Country RV Campground) in a Motorhome.

Older park with a great owner. Very personable and helpful. We came here because we had to evacuate the east coast of Florida for Hurricane Matthew and chose here since we had visited here once before without our RV and found it interesting. If you're looking for a fancy resort this is not your place, it is mainly for folks who want to fish in the area. Many permanent residents. Excellent WIFI, Over The Air TV stations come in via a cable connection through the campground and it works fairly well since you have to consider the area you are in. We had a site just inside the main gate so we did have some road noise but otherwise this was a quiet stay for 2 nights. Owner has a very well stocked RV supply area in the office. We would return in the future. We camped at Angler's RV Campground (formerly Rainbow Country RV Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Cedar Key approx 7 miles away. Although others rated the restaurants very high we found them sorely lacking in both selection and price, perhaps it had something to do with the fact that they were still recovering from the effects of Hurricane Hermine a few weeks prior. As is often the case in waterfront restaurants the food is mediocre and the price high due to the scenery.

Very tight turns and no one to help you locate your spot. We refused the site they gave us as it would have been impossible to get into. There were many who were there for long periods and they have accumulated junk. It is a good price but we would not stay there again as it is quite a ways off the highway. Park is older but completely adequate. We scored a site in the back that had plenty of room and even a little privacy. Neighbors were snowbirds and very friendly. Older motorhomes parked throughout. Not the most fancy place we've stayed but the price was right and we liked it. We camped at Angler's RV Campground (formerly Rainbow Country RV Campground) in a Motorhome.

A nice older park with a fair amount of permanent residents. Very friendly and helpful employees. We stayed 4 nights with our 32' fifth wheel in a spacious spot. Cedar Key is less than 10 miles away with plenty to see and very good restaurants. We would definitely come back and stay here. A bit rustic, but very reasonable. We didn't actually stay in this park. We tried to make a reservation and the guy on the phone was like "yea, come on it". We got there and paid for four nights. Then realized that they didn't have a spot big enough for our travel trailer. We did get our money back but had to wait until the next day to meet with the owner. All of their roads are sand and there were people washing trailers. Also there were a lot of very old permanent trailers that looked unkept and a bit sketchy. This campground is all dirt, with some concrete patios. It was quiet, friendly staff, and had lots of trees. There was a lot of 'stuff' lying around, such as boat trailers, junk vehicles, for-sale campers, a shed where literally half the wall was rotted up about 2-3 feet. They advertise cable TV, which is basically an antenna tower with cables hooked to it. Wi-fi was very weak and spotty. Used the kitchen for a get-together, although there was no hot water (had to heat it in a pot on the stove to wash dishes. Its worth a few dollars more for a more comfortable campground. We camped at Angler's RV Campground (formerly Rainbow Country RV Campground) in a Motorhome.

PA rate ($12.50) is good only two nights. This campground is definitely "old" Florida....dirt roads, sandy sites, "permanent" campers, lot of trees. You get the idea. The office store is one of the best stocked stores I've seen in a small campground with lots of RV stuff. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Satellite TV is a little tricky depending on site location. About 5 or so miles from Cedar Key proper. Dollar General about 2 miles away as well as local seafood restaurant. Sites are a little close to each other. We camped at Angler's RV Campground (formerly Rainbow Country RV Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Quite a rustic site (no paved roads or concrete pads for RVs) but it has character, is quiet, has lots of bird life, and very friendly staff and campers. It's about 6 miles from Cedar Key town so that and the fact that its not a modern site probably accounts for the extremely reasonable rates (for the area). Services were all good except for Wi-Fi which was weak, but that may have been because I was on the extremities of the park. I would definitely stay here again. This is a CAMPGROUND, not an RV Resort. One previous reviewer stated this was an "awesome" park, but we thought probably they got this park mixed up with a very nice "Resort" across the street. However, this park was somewhat a disappointment for us. The roads are all sand/dirt and dusty. Also had potholes or guess you'd call them "sandholes". The coach bounced as we drove through the trees, some close to the road. Our site was a "pull-through", but not by our definition. Two sites, end to end and if both were empty you could pull through one into the other. Hence, leaving a pull-in for someone coming into the site behind us. We parked on sand with some gravel, not concrete, although we did have a small concrete patio. We could not get level on our site, and our jacks would bury themselves in sand. Lots of trees and shade. Good DirecTV reception and Verizon phone and MyFi reception. If we come back to Cedar Key we will stay at another place. Guess we're getting too old to park in a "Campground". Ha! Oh, almost forgot. This is a Passport America park which we didn't know until after we paid and took our site. Be SURE to state you are PA to get the discounts when you register! We camped at Angler's RV Campground (formerly Rainbow Country RV Campground) in a Motorhome.
