We've stayed here 3 times in the last year. It's kinda our "home park". Recent rule changes allow stay of 180 days then you have to leave for 3 days. Great value for active/retired military. Virtually no WiFi, it's available at the Outdoor Recreation Center across the base. If you use Verizon Hotspot the signal is so weak as to be virtually useless. If jet noise bothers you then you probably won't like it cause it's in the base flight path. Convenient to the Exchange and Commissary. Nearby lake and bay access for fishing, base permit and state license required and available on base. Close to the Destin beaches. Lots of trees but no problems with satellite reception. Base swimming pool available with a full menu of services on base available. Sites are gravel with concrete patios and picnic table. If one of your party requires use of a power chair you may have problems getting from the gravel to the concrete patio. The dirt is mostly sand an quickly become powdery. - kanem
Nov 2008 - $20.00
Military Campground. No advance reservations, 90 day occupancy then out for 2-3 days depending on how many in overflow, then can start 90 days again. Very close to shopping and fast food on base. Many walking trails and great for pets. Very clean restrooms and showers. Laundry on site also. 45 pull through sites with 50 amp and sewers, 15 easy back in. Great water pressure. Friday pot luck lunches in small and cramped lounge. Game night on Fridays. Occasional trips to local sites in CG bus. Monthly rate was $400.00 or $360.00 if a club member. Office and grounds staff were very nice. Propane on site also. This is an active air base and can get quite noisy at times. Eglin also has a separate campground with 22 sites with 30 amp (only) and water with a dump station right on the water. These sites are rather crude. Parking on dirt and sand. On base hospital in convenient for med checkups. We would definitely stay here again. - retditto

Do you like your neighbors? We knew what we were signing up for tho'. "Cozy.". Everyone was pretty stand-offish - no "hey, how ya' doin'?". Plenty of non-military "guests" in the pool. Park is nice and very well maintained; complements to the staff. Not particularly comfortable with the campers - we're older, and these whipper-snappers are pretty arrogant. Not certain we'll stay again. - jtids
Feb 2017 - $23.00
This is an older RV park and the sites were fairly tight. Cable and all other utilities worked great. Site had nice concrete with picnic table and grill. Finding space for tow was tough due to lot closeness. We were unable to use satellite because of trees. We were on 2103. Lots of dogs! And rude owners that did not pick up even tho bags and trash can were provided. We stayed 3 weeks to see family in area. Doubt we would use this camp again - hug448844

This is a beautiful facility located right on the bay and near downtown Dest in. So many nice amenities and a gorgeous pool, pier, harbor. This was our second visit to the campground and would love to go again sometime. Just one negative thing. The sand burs are a pain. Maybe some spray treatment to get rid of them. - hoganc

Our 1st stay was 2013 and have stayed every year since. May be our last stay. I hate to sound cheap, but since 2013 nothing has changed (except addition of community fire pit) except the price. Premium sites 12 and 39 went from $400/week to $740. With zero amenities improvements.

Sep 2018 - $90.00
Stayed here for 5 nights in our 5th. Site was adjacent to the pool. Clean, quite (school in session). Everyone was very friendly and polite. Facility was well maintained. Shrubbery around the site was a little tight, brought this up with the management and they were looking at trimming it back. Cable TV quality was poor. Poolside bathroom could use some brighter lights in the shower area. - Joelbjr
Jul 2018 - $120.00
Stayed here while visiting the Naval Base and Beach. Sites were nice and roomy and pull in. Could have used a few more bathrooms but they were clean. Nice landscaping and is right on the bay side of the Gulf. Fireworks on Thursday night was good and they rocked the Motorhome they were so close. The beach is across the street and beautiful. If you walk to the beach be sure to take the elevated crosswalk. Traffic is horrible. We would stay again if in the area. - Musickman911

No frills, two years old, concrete pads, level, lawn mowed, driveway is a loop one way, lawn is solid so if you have to pass someone and drive on the grass you won't sink into the lawn. Worked out perfect for us. If you want a pool or playground and you qualify to stay here then go on base, the commercial entrance is right across the street.
This is not a family campground!! You can stay up to 90 days, first come first serve. Pull in, if there's a site grab it and than go sign in. We called the morning of and found out there were two sites. We were at a Walmart in Pensacola, drove an hour, got fuel, etc. got here and two sites were still available. The other one filled up later that evening. This was late September. We're considering staying here again but for longer, maybe in late winter early spring on our way out way back north or north west.
Couldn't get any signals on the antenna so we were glad we had satellite. - Mountain10
Jul 2016 - $20.00
Stayed for 2 months this summer. Be aware there's NO trees so if you travel in the summer, you'll be cooking in the sun. Everything is nice and new, great space for each site compared to other campgrounds, but you still have to get creative with 2 vehicles. The man who runs the place is pretty huffy at times over the simplest questions. They keep the grounds well maintained and we enjoyed our stay here. This was a nice quiet campground, even on July 4th, we were never woken up. Pretty close to beaches, as well as Destin, Navarre, and Pensacola. For this campground, you're staying for the location, not the campground itself. We had a huge problem with black and brown widows EVERYWHERE in the picnic tables. Supposedly people were being warned, but the new people never had a clue. Could be a big problem for those with small children or elderly. We bought poison though and were able to easily kill the Black and Brown widows, and their dozen egg sacs. Everybody we met was always so nice and friendly! I would recommend this campground and plan to return. - C est La Vie Three
Oct 2014 - $20.00
Nice new campground. Level and flat concrete pads at each site. Friendly person on the phone and at the office. Grass was cut while we were there, trash was emptied 3 times (all in one week.) Campground layout is questionable. One big loop with 1-way traffic pattern. Sites have plenty of space between them. 1 way road is narrow. Only place to unhook is in the 1 way road. Dump station (if you need it, is on the wrong side. No parking at the office. None. Laundry is way to small. Only 2 rusted washers, 1 of which is not working. Very little signage on the property including into the campground. Another example of contracts getting a campground built but not having a very good idea of how campers operate. Sad for a new campground that could be a good one if it were built and run by people who knew what they were doing and/or knew how to get things done. We pulled in to a site and got all set up only to find that the 50 amp was not working. Not sign, no hint to that effect. We were there over a week and don't know if it got fixed. The laundry is a complete embarrassment. Old machines -- at least they ought to get them swapped out and working! - rwarner22

This is a fairly small state park with 30 sites. Most sites are large and fairly private with the sites on the farthest side from the bayou having the most privacy. There are 3 fairly short walking trails in the park, and there is also a boat ramp. Restrooms were very clean. There are grocery stores and Walmart nearby but we did not find anything special in terms of restaurants - just the usual fare. The better restaurants, in our opinion, were over the toll bridge in Miramar Beach or Santa Rosa Beach. The staff here were all helpful and friendly. The rangers told us that our site had just been "fixed" - graded, with new gravel put in. Apparently, it used to flood. We had no issues when we were there and were grateful for the improvements. - Cape Cod kayaker

Fantastic Park. Clean, close to everything. AT&T comes in perfectly and decent OTA reception. Some sites have gravel and some are sand. - dan_m
Nov 2018 - $16.00
Very nice campground and park next to the water. The campground loop is set in the trees and within walking distance of the water. Lots of different sites to choose from with space between sites and plenty of privacy. Some of the sites could be a bit tricky to back into with large rigs but it can be done. Very clean bath house. Three interesting hiking trails and kayaks for rent. Received a few OTA TV channels and T-Mobile coverage is good. Close to shopping and restaurants. Great staff of park rangers and volunteers. - Lance 47

Nice park, but I have to agree with another reviewer that the park has indeed sold out to a local expensive private resort, and has allowed them the run of the east end of the beach! Also correct is that there is very little security in the camp ground area. Beach is heavily patrolled during the day for things like alcohol use-with the exception of the east end- no rules seem to apply to this area. - camp guru
Jan 2019 - $28.00
The sites at this campground are the most private I have ever seen. We could not even see any neighbors from our site #18. The site was a long pull-through with more than enough space for our 43 ft. toy hauler and we even had room for the rear patio. There is a very nice walking path to the beach, and every evening we enjoyed gorgeous sunsets. The location is perfect for visiting Destin. T-Mobile,Verizon and AT&T worked well there. - Love2Camp777
Nov 2018 - $15.00
This park is next to US Hwy 98 between the highway and the beach. The beach is about a 1/4 mile walk from the campground along a scenic boardwalk. The campground has many spacious campsites with lots of large pull-through sites. This park seems to be especially popular with big rigs. Super clean bath house. I was able to receive a number of OTA TV stations and my T-Mobile signal was good. The park also had good wifi while I was there. One of my favorite parks. Lots to do around Destin. - Lance 47

This is a military campground for active duty and retired. Very convenient facility. We were visiting friends in the Niceville area and this was perfect. Roomy sites. The campground itself is pretty dated. The sites are mostly level and are primarily sand with some gravel. Very nice water views from most all sites of the Bay. The WiFii was probably the best I have ever encountered at an RV park. Cable at all sites. Many of the sites of trees in the way of getting a satellite to lock on. The restrooms and laundry were clean and very usable, we did some laundry here. Be sure and follow the directions from this site and follow the brown signs and it is easy to find. If you come up from Destin be prepared to pay a $4.00 toll plus $4.00 for every axle over 2. We would definitely stay here again. - Magnum34
Mar 2013 - $20.00
Fantastic park with big open sites and a view of the bay. Can walk right down to the beach from the RV for a little beach combing. However, I would not recommend swimming in the bay. While each RV site did not have its own fire ring, there were numerous fire rings near the beach. There is a decent newer playground. Bathrooms/showers were clean and adequate. Very close to Destin--just cross the bridge (cost $3 each way). Would stay here again. - Cap'n G
Apr 2010 - $20.00
Sites are far enough apart that you don't feel like you're camping right on the next guy. All sites are mostly shaded and some are fully shaded. Nice view of the lake. There is some highway noise from the bay bridge. Cable TV was very poor reception on our site. Most of the time the picture was unwatchable. Not a big problem as we were not here to watch TV, but it would have been nice to get reliable news. We eventually quit trying to depend on a cable picture and switched over to OTA TV. WiFi was slow but reliable. Bathroom/shower house was very clean but somewhat dated with some worn flooring. - Wadcutter

While not exactly what I think of as a "resort" in terms of amenities, this is an excellent place just to spend time and enjoy the many features of the gulf coast. The park is clean, neat and very well maintained with modern hookups. Each space is equipped with a large and level concrete pad that features a spacious patio area. You will have to bring your own picnic table if you plan on outdoor eating. Trees are liberally planted throughout the area but do not pose a problem for satellite users. Thought with the excellent WiFi and cable TV you probably won't want to breakout the sat dish. Most spaces are easy back-in style, but they do have a few pull-thru sites to offer. The hosts are very welcoming and accommodating. Our rate was based on the weekly discount, but they also offer Good Sam for daily visitors. If we find our plans bring us back to the area, this is certainly on our list of places to consider. - Dunwoodyradio

This park is conveniently located, clean, and not difficult to get to. Quiet. Site practically perfectly level; jacks not needed. Hookups conveniently located, in good condition, and worked correctly. Will stay here again if in the area. No frills, but just what you need for a safe, quiet place to stay. - MSTraveler

Jul 2018 - $125.00
This is a very small but nice RV park located in Miramar Beach next to Destin. Price is very high but this is a resort area and park is located just 1 1/2 blocks from the beautiful beach. Park sites are all back-ins with level concrete pads and patio with concrete table/benches. Road through park is made of very attractive bricks. Sites are wider than most parks with nice well maintained privacy shrubbery, mulched area and palm/crape myrtle trees between the lots. There is some small grass area area in the front of each site. There is a security gate closed at night at the entrance but the damaged exit gate was open all the time. There is a small pool. We could get satellite access. Only issues were the wifi is very poor and sites are not very long so larger rigs have to park your tow vehicle perpendicular to RV and drive across the grass area. Also more generally be aware the traffic in/to the Fort Walton and Destin area is very heavy in summer so plan on a lot of extra time to get to this park (avoid Old Hyw 98) or traveling around area. Evidentially Florida allows beaches in front of condo/hotels to be private so public areas and access is very restricted and crowded. - Tom Willing
Aug 2017 - $100.00
We have stayed at this park in August for a number of years. This year, we found a much higher than normal level of irritants and they detracted significantly from our very expensive experience: * Sites are extremely difficult to get into * The foliage is not well trimmed. Every time I come to this place, I have to cut back foliage (although it is supposedly against the rules) to prevent it from rubbing my coach and providing an entry path for ants and other insects not to mention the residue deposited on the top of the coach and the slide outs. * The TV Cable did not work for most of the stay. The office reported that it had been out four times in a month and provider did not seem to be capable of getting it fixed. * The swimming pool had been contaminated and was useless for the majority of our stay * The wireless internet is a cruel joke. <1MBPS of speed. Due to low Verizon signal strength, the mobile hot spot was not much better. Do not even think of coming to this place if you need or intend to get any business done that requires internet service. It is hard to state how irritating and handicapping the lousy wireless service is in this place. * The park charges $2.50/day over the quoted rate for an 'electricity surcharge.' Surcharge? Most RVs would not use $2.50/day of electricity in total. This is nothing but a way to be disingenuous about what is being charged for a site until you arrive and find out you are paying for add-ones that were not previously disclosed. This is dishonest. I have never paid an electricity surcharge. It's not the $2.50. It's the principle behind this behavior. * Upon check-in you get an 8 panel brochure from Walton County. Six of the eight panels tell you what you cannot do in Walton County. * The office staff can be very hostile but they are clearly not responsible for the many shortcomings of what was once a very nice park I'm done with the Destin RV "Resort" - Ras2
Feb 2017 - $80.00
This was our first stay at Destin Rv Beach Resort. It will not be our last. In fact, upon leaving, we booked again in April. Without question, this is the nicest Rv park at which we have ever stayed and is and easy "10" rating for me. This is a small, gated and intimate park with just over 30 sites. Private beach access is provided a few hundred feet from the park at the location of a very nice beach-side restaurant, the "Surf Hut." The cobblestone entry streets are wide and allow easy access to the park sites. The location is geographically perfect for excursions in and around Destin, Seaside, Grayton Beach, Ft. Walton and other near-by places. The Rv sites are very large and the grounds are immaculately landscaped and manicured, promoting an incredibly private, lush and tropical setting. The landscaping between the sites also provides site privacy. In fact, I didn't even know my neighbor was there. The bathrooms/showers were very well maintained. WIFI was adequate. And last but not least, I can't say enough about Mike and Rita at the front desk. They were most engaging, accommodating and helpful. IMO, if you don't like this place you don't like Christmas! It's that good! - Sjcjr

All is well above, sites are very nice, staff very friendly, views are wonderful. Pulled in after a 11.75hr. haul straight thru and staff was there and ready to help. Had a issue with a breaker. Called and they came right over to fix it. Would come here again in a heartbeat. We will be here till after September 1. - Fred76
Jun 2018 - $150.00
I loved this campground. Family friendly and as close to the Gulf of Mexico as you can get. The beach was beautiful, I could have spend a week there. We stayed in an upper beach site (further away) and it was great. No, we were not ON the beach, but our site was more spacious than the beach site and we didn't have to battle the sand the way sites close to the beach do. Sites were still tight, but a bit more spaced than sites closer to the beach and we were able to walk to the beach in 3 minutes. Service was great, they provided somebody to guide my husband backing the trailer in (that alone made the hefty price worthwhile), lots of activities to do, campground was clean, pools were pleasant, but I wasn't impressed by the bathrooms. They were not filthy, but they should have been a lot cleaner. I called 6 months in advance to make my reservation and I could only pick from 3 sites, if you're interested in staying make your reservation sooner than later! Overall it was lovely and I would love to go back one day! - RebaDee
