It’s as close as you can get to the beach. We wanted beachfront and we got it. Space is tight and some have to be assisted via tractor with parking, however the staff is helpful and the park is great. Beach side sites are sandy, as such, your RV will be sandy. Bring a vacuum. We camped at Red Coconut RV Resort in a Motorhome.

As many have mentioned this old park is all about location, location, location! The sites were laid out many years ago and we all know RVs have grown. Be prepared to fit your big rig into a shopping center size parking space. It's gonna be tight!! Still the park is quaint in a way and we enjoyed our stay. It was our 2nd time here. We always enjoy walking around after dark looking at all the lights and little decorations the regulars have on display. Estero Blvd is STILL under construction! I guess they will get it done some day. Traffic is bad but if you go out early or on cloudy or rainy days it's much better. Ride your bikes OR take the new free tram that runs from the Library north. We called at the last minute because our other reservation was lost due to the Govt shutdown. They had 1 site in the very back next to the dumpsters. This was a mixed blessing. Site R5 is big and somewhat private and had plenty of room to park my trailer and truck. You won't get that any where else! But the garbage trucks come EVERY morning at 6 AM and the staff and residents come to toss stuff in the dumpsters all day long. We couldn't believe they STILL use a KEY-deposit required for the rest rooms! WHY don't they have combination locks??? We didn't mess with the cable box because antenna TV was fine and we got all the networks. The WiFi is weak and severely overloaded. You had to get on early in the morning to get much of any use out of it. Easy walk to the beach which is why you come here in the first place! Plenty of places to eat and drink within easy walk or bike. Finally these few sites back by the dumpsters are easy to get to and from because you can use the street that is just outside the actual camp ground. It's on the south side and the Fire Dept is at the corner. I think it's called Donora Bvd. We camped at Red Coconut RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Groceries near by. Lots of eating and drinking establishments all along the beach road. Several friends recommended we go to the Edison/Ford houses and museum in Ft Myers. We hated to use one of our few days here to do that but we are glad we did. A fairly easy drive and well worth it. Maybe not so great with little kids but we're empty nesters and enjoyed it very much.

We have been coming here for December and January for many years. This is our favorite place to camp. As all beach front campgrounds, the spaces are very tight. This is of no concern to us as most of the other campers are friends we have made over the years. For us, beach front parking is as good as it gets. The Town of Fort Myers Beach has been "improving" Estero Blvd. for the last 3 years and it was still a mess this year. But even the terrible traffic and the construction work, we still love this place. Staff were, as always, very helpful and friendly. Beach side roads and sites are sand. Good electric, water and sewer. Fair wifi and tv. We hope to continue coming here for years to come. We camped in a motorhome. We camped at Red Coconut RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Plenty of places to visit and good places to eat. We go for the beach and anything else is secondary. There is a grocery store a few blocks away and another one about a mile away. Traffic is often very, very bad so be prepared for stop and go conditions. We try to do our driving when the weather is rainy or cold and less people coming out to beach. After a while you learn the traffic patterns and go with them.

What a dump. Pack them in like sardines and take their money. 10 foot roads, super tight. Had to get people to move their carts and trucks just to squeeze through. 5 tries to back into a very tight space. I know how to back a motor home and have camera and big mirrors, but this is ridiculous. Lots of permanent sites that are run down. Will NEVER stay here again. We are fulltime now, but used to live in Naples which is about 30 miles south. We have been camping here several times per year for 20+ years. This review will be a composite of that experience since little has changed in all that time. The rate above was for second row. This place is the perfect example of supply and demand. Demand far exceeds supply so there is no incentive to do any maintenance or improvements. Beachside is basically a sandy lot with scrub grass, a few trees, and utility hookups. Utilities work well. Wifi hasn't worked ever for us in many years. We use our hotspot. Sites are very tight. Large rigs only fit on a few places beachside. No overflow parking especially at peak times. Many times they let me park in the storage yard which is only a block away on the park side. Park there with your lot number tag and that gives you a space at your site for visitors. Holiday weekends are insane. Staff is friendly and they are pros at spotting you and backing in trailers with their tractor. You have to REALLY want the beach to make this a good value at these prices. We camped at Red Coconut RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Plenty to do here at the town square which you can take the trolly to. Fantastic German restaurant (Heidi's) across the street. Junkanoos next door has good food and their pizza is fantastic.

Packed in like sardines! We were in site #2 on the Gulf side. Right next to the road. Bathrooms missing lights, insulation hanging down, filthy..throw up in shower stalls. Staff could care less. Would NOT give us a 2nd cable box for TV in bedroom. Only 1 per RV. Asked to speak to manager/owner and was told NO. The beach is the ONLY redeeming factor to this place. Absolutely will NEVER go back or recommend to anyone. I called when we got home and asked for manager/owner to call me. I wanted to give them a chance to explain. I never heard from them. They get enough who just want the beach and don't care about anything else. We camped at Red Coconut RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This is a difficult park to rate. It is the location that we come for because the dog friendly beach is just what we enjoy in the off season. We try to stay beach side, even at the premium price because you walk out your door to the beauty. The park is old and could use updates but with its occupancy rate, I'm sure the owners see no need for repairs. Spots are very tight and I would not come in after dark, very likely to damage our vehicle. I keep an eye out when neighbors are moving in or out. We loved walking our dogs on the beach and it seems folks obey leash laws. They do require proof of vaccinations and there is a pet surcharge. Be sure to ask for discounts, they won't offer and you need proof. Office staff not friendly...too bad because campers are good guys. It is like they are looking for a reason not to give you the site even though reserved. When asked about pets, I said I have a couple of small dogs and the reply was "how many is a couple?"! We opted to eat in and just enjoy the beach time but a few restaurants are in walking distance, most further. There is road construction and road noise. We will come back..for the beach and view. This park has been in operation a very long time with sites on the beach and others across the road . Some of the sites are full time and are very neat and orderly. Transient sites are very tight but it is worth the challenge to get in there if you enjoy the beach. People are very friendly, many return year after year. This is a very unique park . I would definitely return here . We camped at Red Coconut RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed here 4 nights. We were across the street from the beach which was fine but you are squeezed in like sardines. They put us on K-18. We were in a 38 ft motorhome and they shouldn't have done that. We were wedged in so that all we could see was the side of our coach and the side of a permanent structure. It took 2 of their maintenance people to get us in and when it was time to leave they only sent one. She guided us out but failed to let us know we were too close to the coach next to us going out and we found out we hit their mirror and knocked out some screws. We didn't feel it and she told my husband good job and we left only to get a phone call a few hours later that we had swiped the mirror. There should be nothing more than a 30 or 32 ft coach on this site. We listened to her and did what she told us to do. One coach even had to slide in his slide in so we could make the turn. Will not be back. Be careful where they put you and if you like being able to touch your neighbor this is the spot for you. We camped at Red Coconut RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We love this park. Service is awesome, beach is either out your front door or a two minute walk depending on what area you stay in (we stayed park side this trip, beach side a bit pricier). Walking/biking/trolley to everything you need or want to go on island. Sites are close but people are very friendly. Active group of long timers at the club house who welcome all to join in the fun. Parking on sites is on shell/gravel, long concrete patios with short picnic tables at all sites. We camped at Red Coconut RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The view and the access to the beach is awesome on the beach side of the park. The front row is the beach. Wifi works and the cable requires a box that you can get from the office. Sand with cement patios and picnic tables. Had to pay extra for our dog, $3 a day. We camped at Red Coconut RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Several restaurants nearby and the campground has coupons for them. Enterprise has a special rate and will pick you up, we were in a motorhome with no toad. Sanibel Island is beautiful but their only campground does not allow dogs. Will probably return here for the beach alone.

Spent Labor Day weekend at this park and very disappointed as to the number of trailers they cram in. We had 6 campers and we had to stager them in our sites just so we could all open our slides and awnings. We were tripping over each other's sewer hoses.

As we walked around and look at other sites some sites didn't even have room for tables, one site literally was on the corner and their door opened onto the street. Ridiculous

This will not be a place we return to. Waste of money. We camped at Red Coconut RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for about 3 weeks in January as we do each year. We stay on the beach side and always enjoy our stay. Staff will assist you in getting into your site. The sites are very tight as with most beach front camping areas but we have been coming here a long time and most of the people are now friends so it really does not matter to us. The price is high, but for us it is worth the cost. Staff, as they have always been to us, were great. We hope to keep coming here for many years. We camped at Red Coconut RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There are many good restaurants in the area and lots of things to do. We come for the beach so the rest is secondary. Grocery stores nearby, one within easy walking distance. City bus cost, I think, .25 and runs from one end to the other and has a regular schedule.

We stayed here four nights and it was great. We were directly across the street from the ocean (although they do have ocean front spots) we wanted a pull through on park side. The showers were clean and warm. There is plenty of stuff nearby: food, gas station, etc. The internet was bad but how often do you find good internet at rv parks. I recommend this place and would stay there again. We camped at Red Coconut RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

A great location for beach lovers, biking, and walking along with pet friendly beach rules. You are paying to have direct access to the beach and the Gulf of Mexico and the price is well worth it for that alone. Campground is very friendly, quiet, and clean with a great maintenance staff. Services were good. All showers and bathrooms were clean and accessed only via a key. Access to parking is tight to say the least, but not a problem with the help provided by park staff. Only negative is the office staff. They could use a good course in customer service as they are less than helpful and close to rude. Overall a great stay and our fourth time. We will return for sure.
